I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. The restaurant listed their opening time as 1 PM, but they didn’t open until 2:15 PM. Because of the delay, I ended up getting a ticket while waiting. I traveled over an hour specifically to try their oxtail, only to be told once I arrived that they didn’t have any. I ordered a few other items instead, but the food was honestly terrible—I didn’t end up eating any of it. If the food had been good, I might’ve let the inconvenience slide, but this was a complete waste of time and money.

My first time here was a mediocre experience...service was almost nonexistent and like with many I tried it because of all the social media hype and I was underwhelmed. The food was good but nothing I'd personally return for. Esthetically the food looks amazing, picture perfect however it's not all what it seems. In conclusion I will say I did have quality ingredients and coming from the food industry I can understand their pricing.

I visited from Florida and was really looking forward to trying their oxtail Philly cheesesteak, but unfortunately they were out of oxtails that day. I had the jerk cheese sticks and the jerk chicken cheesesteak rolls, along with a drink, and my total came to about $30. Honestly, for the quality and amount of food, I thought it was worth it. The flavor was incredible and the side sauces were some of the most unique I’ve ever tasted. That said, if you’re not into spicy food, be warned. The jerk chicken is seriously spicy. I love African and Jamaican food, and I’ve had plenty of jerk, but this was hands down the hottest I’ve ever had. The flavor was fantastic, but the heat was so intense I could only finish two of the four rolls. I didn’t want to risk an upset stomach later, and yes, it really was that hot. Customer service was excellent. The woman who took my order was super friendly, as were the kitchen staff and a man I assumed to be the owner or manager. The wait was a bit long. I ordered at 1:40 PM and got my food at 2:17 PM, but everything was made fresh and that tradeoff is totally worth it. The spot itself is really small with no real space to sit and eat, so be prepared to take your order to go. Otherwise, I highly recommend trying them out. Hopefully you get to try the oxtails, and if you do, just know I’ll be over here jealous.

Traveled from Baltimore for the oxtail cheesesteak, they didn't have any oxtail at all. Blew me and my lady bad. The wait time is too long. Their cooking area is small. The line space is cramped so there is no such thing as personal space. We Ordered the following: Jerk general tso cheesesteak: 10/10 - huge quantity, well seasoned and the sweet sauce cuts the jerk spice. Recommend if they have no oxtail. Jerk chicken egg rolls: 7/10 flavorful but super spicy. Salmon egg rolls: 9/10 very good. Dipping sauce is just a sweet/spicy bbq Brussels sprouts: 10/10 spectacular but super messy. Ask for container to be wrapped OR put in the bag the right way. Lady put ours in opening up and all of the honey spilled on everything.

I heard so much about this place and was able to try them out while there yesterday. Strictly a takeout spot. You go in to order and they'll call cell when ready , it took about 30mins. The items with large portion were pricey, but they have options on the menu that were reasonable. My food choices were Jerk chicken Rasta Pasta(spicey), Salmon egg rolls, jerk Mozzarella sticks and mac& cheese. Everything was good!! I received Chicken jerk egg rolls which were good but not what I ordered. Over all enjoyed what I had ,so....if in the area try them out !!!

Wait was worth it! Food was amazing! Staff was beyond friendly and offered great insight into what was good to get! Disappointed I wasn’t able to get the oxtail cheesesteak as they no longer serve but everything superseded expectations! Portions are beyond enough for dinner, lunch and dinner the next day! Waited two hours in traffic to get home to indulge and was still very warm which was amazing! Well worth the 45 minutes to drive and pick up! Will definitely be returning soon! Price, wait worth the delicious food and friendly service we received!!

Do not believe the hype!!! TikTok did not get this one right🤦🏾‍♀️ I spent $75 for what:/ The food was basic; nothing special:( The service was horrible:( And parking on South St is not my cup of tea( Philadelphia Parking Authority):/ And to top it off; they didn’t have nothing on the menu:/ Most of everything was sold out😒To which I thought was a good thing at first; until I got what I could get/order🤦🏾‍♀️Definitely won’t be coming back!!!

Food was just okay. The oxtail cheese steak is $35. 4 whole 4 wings will cost you $17. Wings are a nice color but not a whole lot of flavor. And usually a half hour or more wait for your order. This place seems really overhyped without the flavor to back it up. There are many items on the menu but they never seem to have them all. You find out what they have when you get there and see a black ⚫️ dotted menu marking what is available that day.

This was a well put together take out restaurant. Very clean, you can see them preparing your food. My order came up to be $73 and some change, it was enough to feed 3 to 4 people easy. The egg rolls were stuffed and very tasty and a hint of spiciness. The chicken wings were delicious, these wings had to be brine over night because the taste was all thru those wings. Rasta pasta was another hit. Cheesy,tasty and the pasta was Al dente. Now what I didn't like and this could be a bad thing or a good thing. The food is prepared once you order, so when you get your food it's piping hot the food isn't sitting under warming lamp waiting for an order. Our food took a little over an hour to get, it wasn't bad waiting because we walked around South Street until our order was ready. I'm not sure about phone orders!

Listen, if you have a lot of time to wait for some food-- go here. I can see why ppl give them low ratings. It's the wait for me. 35 minutes for 3 chicken fingers. They are HUGE and good flavor. IDK what that sauce is but it is delicious. The fingers are really a half of a chicken breast. The flavor was on point. It was fried perfectly. I got 'spicy' level and my mouth burned because of the temperature. I waited so long I started getting hangry. Initially I was taken aback with the price. However, the size of the tenders makes sense. It's a long, no sit down, space. There is a bench outside because you need somewhere to sit. Maybe order ahead? IDK. The wait was ridiculous. I really can't explain that one and need to 3.5 stars. Even with the great food-- the wait was unnecessary. Keeping 3.5 cause you def need to work on wait time.

Jerk Fry City 602 South St. Philadelphia, PA 19147 Jerk Fry Chicken Freshly prepared on the spot, the fried chicken came out hot and crispy. It was definitely worth the half hour wait. The only disadvantage was there were no indoor or outdoor dining tables.

Food is good but when I tell you, they have the worst service on planet Earth I'm not exaggerating. Customer service is horrible. Not to mention be prepared to wait at least an hour for your food doesn't matter if you ordered online or you walked in if you ordered online, wait at least an hour to leave before you go and pick it up. And if you're thinking about going there for that oxtail cheesesteak forget it they do not have it. They keep it on their website and they let you order it and when you get there, they tell you oh we don't have it today I spoke to one of the cooks and he said it's not coming back. It's a sales tactic.

Seeing the reviews we decided that we wanted to be the first in line for our food. We waited about 30-40 minutes for our food walked the local near by stores. The food over all was made fresh and delicious, I was told it's the same owner as Kingston 11. I will be back for another early stop, I would hate to see the wait during rush hours.

They don't open on time. They're supposed to open at 1 pm on Saturdays. I drive 2 1/2 hours and they weren't open, yet. They almost never have all the items on their menu, particularly anything oxtail. And, the wait to get your order is ridiculously long.

Visited Jerk Fry City again today. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. Walked in and my order was taken at 2:18. I was told that my order of jerk wings and salmon egg rolls would be ready in 30 mins (and they would call me, I knew better than to believe that from my previous visits). I set my timer then walked around South Street and came back 30 mins later. I was told my order would take another 10 mins. I set another timer as I stood in the restaurant waiting for my food. The guy who ordered ahead of me popped in and grabbed his food. Why I was still waiting for my order puzzled me. I stood waiting and another 10 mins went by. The young guy at the counter apologized and offered a free drink. I was thankful for that. However, another 20 mins went by and I extended my parking by 30 mins. I was offered free side for the wait. I finally got my food at 3:18 pm, which was a full hour after placing my order. Sigh! Although, I appreciate the young man's apologies, I won't be returning. There is absolutely no reason as to why I waited an hour for 4 pieces of chicken and 4 salmon egg rolls on a not so busy Saturday afternoon (at 2 pm). I tried to support this place, but I won't be returning!

We stood on line, thankfully it was not a long wait today. I had heard of this place , so I was excited to try it. I especially wanted to try the Rasta pasta. As we stood there I glanced at the menu and I saw the Rasta pasta listed with a price of $40. I asked my friend, "Is this a catering menu?" It had to be. Nope. That's the price. Next I see the people place an order in front of me and as the cashier hands them their receipt, he says, "It will be two hours". What?! Yes-he makes a general announcement to everyone on line-"It's a two hour wait FOR EVERYTHING" Jerk Fry City, goodbye.

Definitely not a good experience,I called to place my order ahead and they said I would have to order through uber eats and choose pick up because they can't take payments over the phone . I ordered on Uber eats I had a 2hr wait time . When I arrived they informed me they were out of salmon . I drove 25mins . I wish someone would have informed me that before I left my house. Just very disorganized and truthfully this isn't how you conduct business. They might last in the food industry

The Brussels were the only good thing.. the chicken wings were salty , the rice in the General Tao's was hard. Please correct these in the future if you want to maintain your business.. hope this helps

I have to keep it 100, food was/is great but waiting 2 hours for our order was beyond unreasonable. Sadly I wasn't the only customer that waited as long if not longer. I came from NJ as others to support. They need better organization OR a larger place to accommodate. Having people travel to buy your product is great and maybe a "good" problem to have but the wait time is unreasonable. Also to wait so long and only get a "sorry for the inconvenience" was stale. I spent $83 throw me a couple beverages or a side order! SMH LOL!! I probably won't be back any time soon. All the best to your business. Bless

This was my 1st time visiting from New Jersey. Customer service needs work . The people whom are working the register/order taking are not very friendly or pleasant. Demeanor comes across as not wanting to.be bothered. They did not have any oxtails for oxtail cheese steak sandwich, was told in order to get jerk egg rolls it would take 45 min to make. Was very disappointed and felt as if they.just wanted me to hurry up and order. Finally order jerk pasta pasta was extremely to spicy to eat Waste os money and time. 1st and last visit fir me.

We ordered chicken, Brussels Sprouts and Mac and cheese. The food was not a flex. Not to mention the amount of time we waited for our food. My husband and I won't be returning!

Never got to try the food. Opened an hour late. And didn't have half of the menu! All the first time customers (12) that I was in line with ...left. People traveling from NY, NJ and UpState PA. Very disappointing. Food MAY be good but customer service and business acumen is horrendous.

3 words..... DON'T DO IT! If you value your peace of mind and your time this isn't the place for you. My husband and I drove from Jersey to support this business. We knew there would be a wait so we ordered online, added a pick up time (which is a joke). We ordered at 12:30 for a 2pm pick up, we received our food at 4:30!!!! They did however call us at around 2:15 saying they were out of calamari, no problem we substituted for the wings. We asked when the food would be ready and they said about 30 more minutes. Fine, we park the car and walk around and visit a few shops in the area to kill time. Go back around 3:15pm and the food is still not ready. There are basic business fundamentals this place is not following. One grill is NOT enough. Workers are slow and unorganized and to spice it up the attitudes are unpleasant. There is no place to sit so there is a line of people just waiting. No organization as to who has ordered, or waiting to order. Pure madness. Prices are what the are and that's ok of the service matches..... it doesn't. Our order was $120. The food however is good. The salmon egg rolls were delicious. If they could get it together there could be success with this establishment. However, we will certainly NOT be returning.

Food was over priced, salty and chicken wasn't fully cooked I will never come to this restaurant again we had to wait 1 hour for 8 wings 4 chicken egg rolls and Mac & cheese and they wasn't packed at all and we tried to call in our order and they dont take orders over the phone

The wait time is ridiculous. Some of staff have no people skills and demeanor is not welcoming. The food is so hot you need to keep water close by. There is a difference between spicy and hot. When food is too hot, you cannot enjoy the spices. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is way too expensive and there doesn't appear to be enough prep space. Oh, bring a portable stool because there is no place to sit during that hour wait. I was beyond disappointed with the entire experience. We traveled from New Jersey. It was a waste of gas, money and time. oh to make matters worse there is no rice and peas on menu. Only positive thing i can say is wings are good.

we called to order and they said they don't take calls over the phone so we placed the order online. we waited 35 minutes before going into the store just to be told that they don't have oxtail and did not make any of the other 2 items we ordered. they did give us a full refund but I don't understand why they didn't call us to say they don't have what we ordered.

My mom and I went there trying to experience food first time. The opening time was at 1pm, we called and they answered around 1:15pm and said they would be open in a 30 mins. We then called back asking if we could order online and we informed that they haven't even started cooking and it would be another hour. Very disappointing to hear.

I don't get the bad reviews but I went today. When I got there I was the only one there. All the employees were super friendly and helpful. I got the spicy jerk fry general tso's chicken over jerk fried rice, a side of Mac and cheese, and the jerk chicken and salmon egg rolls. I was told 25mins for my order and it ended up being about 15-20 mins. All the food was good and I will definitely go back to try more stuff. DONT BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS

So I waited until these guys to open up at 1 o'clock. I saw their staff coming in at 12:40 went in at 1 o'clock. They said they're not open. I was informed that they open between 1:30-2pm . Ok I see how y'all do business !!!

They POSTED BUSINESS HOURS are all over the place. If your SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM states you open for business at 1Pm & I travel all the way down to Philly from Trappe PA arriving at 3:37PM and your doors are LOCKED with no closed signs hanging and people INSIDE looking at me as I keep pulling the door....thats NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE....someone could have at least came to the door and said SOMETHING.....

Service was atrocious! They took over an hour to prepare the food. No apologies, just a wierd weird attitude from the guy who took our order. The place is full of inconsiderate W. Africans. And the food was just okay. Don't believe the add or the hype. There's no place to sit and they're out of a quarter of their menu. Junk place. They won't be around for too long. Drove from Wilmington Delaware to 506 South St. with my daughter from NC. on my Birthday. Paid $2.50 parking to enjoy trying the OXTAILS STEAK. Disappointed, with in 5 minutes found out not open. This was after the advertisement on TV. Will not go back here for OXTAILS STEAK, NOT HERE. Zero stars

Saw this on IG and ordered the jerk fry chicken egg roll but I had no idea it was soooo spicy! I could tell it was good but couldn't eat it from how spicy it was. Also after driving 30 min to get there, their bathroom was out of service

The food was absolutely phenomenal. I have not had any food at any restaurant where the food was so freaking good like this in a long time. I'm not gonna lie and I have to say that the service stinks not the people and how they serve you. But the weight was so long. I put my order in at 12:30 PM. For 230 I Got there. At 3 o'clock and they had not even started making my food. Needless to say I had to wait until 445 to get my food. I'm really not saying this to discourage anyone from going there. I'm just preparing you for the weight now. You may wonder if I will ever go back again and I have to say absolutely because the food was just that good. I pray that they will get better with their service because I do not want them to lose business on being slow. No one should have to wait three and four hours for food no one but it was still worth it and I'll do it again.

Today, I ordered the jerk fried chicken and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again. The pasta with the jerk salmon is also delicious . Some of the customers did not want to wait 1hr and half for their meals. If you have to wait a while that means the food is good so just wait! Overpriced but if you don't want to pay for it cook at home it's a 1-2 hour wait if there is a lot of orders, if you don't wanna wait go to a fast food drive thru and don't expect them to have all the food items which is fine I got the jerk wings and salmon cheese steak, I been fasting till 3pm and was excited for this food the taste was not nasty but it's not mmmmm every time you chew it don't smack down at all maybe I need to try a different item. wings were 6/10 and salmon cheese steak was a 4/10.

well after driving all the way here and waiting until it opened at 1pm at 1:15 we were told at least another 30 mins until opening not even to get the food but just to order. Also, no oxtails a main menu item and literally 6 other people also left along with my partner and I. The fact that people's time isn't valued I would never even go back to try the food.

The food was bland. Maybe it's good if you don't know how to cook. Definitely not worth the price. It's too overpriced to be this sh!tty. This place is overhyped. Extremely salty, no seasoning. If you want to taste this food go to your nearest grocery store and buy some jerk seasoning in a jar (walkerswood or grace) and eat a spoon full SMH. It's a long wait for disappointment. Came way out my way to try them. Closed during hours of operation. I get things happen but if you post all the time on socials, why can't you post that you are closed?

The wait times are extremely ridiculous. The staff moves slow and there's not enough people. My food was ordered via UberEats and was scheduled for pickup at 7:50. The food was not ready until 1.5+ hours after that. We thought ordering ahead of time would mean that we didn't have to sit in the car for an hour but it ended up being worse!

It took 50 minutes to get the food. Everyone in my house who ate it is running to the bathroom sick. And the prices were stupid expensiv. I would never recommend this place! the gotta get it together! Top to bottom! I'm ser thinking about calling a lawyer if we have to miss work or school tomorrow!

Yes it took awhile for the food to be ready, but that was the only hurdle that I had to deal with. We ordered the Jerk Fry General Tso's chicken platter, Jerk Fry General Tso's chicken cheesesteak, Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta, and a small mac-n-cheese. This was our first time ever trying their food and we didn't tell them that, as to not possibly get no special treatment. The food all came out beyond great. I, personally, had the platter and it was well worth it. As for their customer service, they treated me with respect. They were very busy but had time to answer personal question I had about the place and no undertones. When the food was close to being done, one of the hostess gave out free samples of other dishes to everyone that was still waiting on food. I got to try their brussels sprouts. Very delicious. Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes

I get to their location at 7:32 PM to have to wait an hour and 35 minutes to get four pieces of chicken. The customer service sucks. I tried to ask the questions seven times he ignored me. They phone dry as hell if they do answer

I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant! Today was father's day and my son and I took the drive to Philadelphia. I was excited like a 5 year old kid going to school on the 1st day! Got there its a dry atmosphere! I went there nobody breaks the menu down to tell you what they have and don't have, so I order the oxtail cheese steak! (Cashier) no oxtail" wow this is on your website as a specialty! I ordered the salmon and rasta pasta, and my son order honey glaze wings and mac and cheese, also let me get cookie and cream milk shake! We don't have it! Okay let me get a banana pudding! We don't have it! They really need to redo their menu. He said 15 minutes so me and my son go hit up a few stores while we are there, he grabs 4 pair of Erik Emanuel shorts and shirts 750 down now! Let's go get our food. I get back he said 50 minutes supposedly now 50 minutes turns into an 1hr and 33 minutes, its 5 people waiting and its not packed! We finally gets our grease(food). It was full of grease, I would not ever put this on an establishment, but I have too! The food had a ok taste until you see the heart attack waiting. I will never return back to this place. For the guy who is doing tic tok about this place! Cut it out!!!

Everything here is made fresh to order. The food is off the charts for flavor, freshness and portion size. The service is excellent and the ambiance is of a take out nature but I would rather prefer to enjoy this meal in the comfort of my own home. Highly recommended!!!

The spice over powered the other flavors. Everything titled "jerk" was not jerk. Also the fried chicken was not fully cooked.

I really can't believe I'm writing this review on a newly open business but here you go.I not only stop in once and the wait or the food wasn't bad so,I went back on 3 occasions they was closed. So on the 5th occasion we stop in and it was a good amount of folkes in line,so we waited for a few minutes....15 minutes to be precise. So we gets up to the register to order our food and the cashier says if you order now it will be 2 hours before we will get our food.Hmm so i get it was crowded and maybe they just open of there establishment but my goodness don't avertize over social media or anything other platform if you can't handle the volume of people who want to eat at your place of business. And for future reference to the owner or manager there say this to the many customers that will wait a long period of time...Sorry for the inconvenience we wasn't expecting so much love like this and we will try our best to get you out has quickly has possible. Got the Island Girl Egg Rolls. The wait was about 30 minutes, but the egg rolls were large, filling, and delicious, and the sweet sauce that went with it was perfect.

horrible customer service! the customer doesn't matter! the time online that they open is not the time they open, over priced. They are rude and unprofessional. They are not accommodating at all. good was just ok! went there once and never again.

Horrible customer service. I guess when staff is overwhelmed with orders they don't give ongoing customers eye contact. I support black business even though they have high prices I will support, however I can't do unexceptional service!

the food is good, I don't like when I wanna order a extra Side of Mac and cheese, they limit it and wouldn't let me buy another side. any restaurant I go to I spend my money freely but this made me slow down from coming by.
