On a crisp autumn afternoon, I entered the small tea parlor to find the balance of southern hospitality and modern yet gentle charm within. The unique color theme of black, white, & periwinkle is complimenting each individual table with no duplication among them, save for the color theme itself. It gives the atmosphere what I feel could be the closest to what southern comfort for tea in Georgia should be.
Greeted warmly by pleasant instrumental music of guitar and piano, you feel the sounds and smell are genuinely inviting you to relax and let the rest of your worries drift out the door for the moment. The co-owner Carolyn greatly me kindly from behind a lovely gold-rimmed display case showing delicious homemade tea pastries. I was seated near the corner where I had plenty of room to myself. I selected from a tea list explaining their plethora of choices from black teas to rooibos. This was to accompany the "Southern Charm" meal that they provide for a fuller experience of what they have here.
The pumpkin spice tea is perfect for this time of year and very popular with good reason (though not seasonal, I asked) so for something tasty & balanced in spiced flavor, I recommend this blend. The vegetable soup also made with love from scratch is unlike anything I've had, where you can taste the freshness of the ingredients with a divine texture that is on point between creamy and flavorful. I wanted to enjoy every sip or bite.
The final course of the Southern Charm is a genuinely filling selection of "this & that" they serve here. A perfect portion of their chicken pot pie, chicken salad croissant, & bite sized pastries all different & wonderful (some may contain nuts, so be aware). My favorite was the brownie bite topped with sugar powder and a dollop of their sweet atop it.
My water glass was constantly refilled but I was not burdened with over attentive visits, should I have been reading or working on an assignment. I like this, feeling like a valued guest in one's home.
As it is the start of the shopping and giving season, to e yourself a little treat here and see what I mean by a good unique experience in the most unlikely of ways. Consider it for a small, simple party or a "Mom and Me" treat with your little one! They will surely adore the tea hats available on display, handmade by Jessa herself and will love the flavorfulness of the teas and treats!
