Texas Burger Chain Whataburger Will Open a Roaming Food Truck in 2021 | Eater Austin

"As the university prepares for the fall semester, this campus dining hall will add late-night hours (open through 11 p.m.), operate with limited in-person capacity and reconfigured layouts to promote social distancing, make menus available to students before entry, and offer a more limited set of menu items than usual." - Nadia Chaudhury

The food variety is really good. You can go from salads to BBQ, Oriental to pasta and chicken fried steaks in one single place. And the price is amazing! Where can you get a good and tender chicken fried steak with two large sides and a roll for under 5 bucks?!

Food isn't great but it has decent portion sizes. All desserts aren't worth it except for the cheesecake, which I haven't seen in a while. Faculty and students can use their bevo bucks to get 10% off. There's also eco coins for an additional 5% off.

Amazing food, great staff!!! Honestly, if you eat here all the time, it will get old. lol, but still great!!!

I am a UT student. The only time I eat here is when I have a time crunch. Vegetarians like me do not have a wide variety of choices, and at the same time food is quite overpriced. With an alternative of J2 dining (whole buffet) available at a lower price than a single item here, as I said, I only come during a time crunch. Cashiers are friendly but all other staff are mostly rude and expect you to know the menu when they serve you.

I've been eating at JCL since I was a freshman in college back in 2006. They improved their menu around then, and the food is definitely better than your average cafeteria food. However, it is still cafeteria food, so keep that in mind. It's probably better than Luby's, and offers similar fare. I recommend the chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, and dinner roll. That combo also comes with a drink, and comes out to about $7.

Large selection of hot foods and a large assortment of snacks/bottled drinks. I like the mini corn dogs and seasoned fries. The cinnamon rolls are good. Takes UT ID, Bevo Bucks, etc.

Would not recommend to non-UT students, as you can get a very similar meal at the same price with better taste. Depending on what you get, the food is good. Overpriced, but good. The "Country Fixin's" line is only good in the morning when they serve breakfast. The mexican food and asian food lines are good, but have odd hours. The sandwich line is average, while the grill line has very consistent tasting food. All of it is ok, probably from sysco (or similar mass produced food company), and overpriced, even with a UT ID.

Somewhat expensive for college students and you might get friendly or rude staff depending when you go. Convenient however for people who live in Jester. So unless you live there and go for the convenience, I’d recommend somewhere else for lunch.
