Yelp
This is a Korean barbecue restaurant -- looks like family owned and ran. Walked in for lunch and noticed the front door was left open. I'm guessing to let the breeze circulate in. This is a family member's go-to place so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
The paper menu is the place mat (clever touch). Our very attentive server asked whether we wanted hot or cold tea -- we opted for cold -- it was nice and refreshing!
We all ordered from the lunch combo menu where you can choose your entrée and tofu soup. We had:
- BBQ Spicy Pork & Vegetable Tofu - came with a cup of rice and raw egg to crack it open in the Tofu. The tofu is served bubbling hot so when you crack the egg, the heat cooks it. The Vegetable tofu had Broccoli Cauliflower, Squash. The BBQ Spicy Pork was very tasty! It was served on a sizzling plate.
- Chicken Terriyaki & Oyster Tofu - also came with a cup of rice and raw egg for the Tofu. The Chicken Terriyaki also served on a sizzling plate, was decent....nothing to rave about. The BBQ Spicy Pork had more flavor. The Oyster Tofu was delicious!
- I had the Hot Stone Pot Bibimbob & Combination Tofu (Beef, Oyster, Shrimp, Clam). I also go to crack an egg to add to my combination tofu. I was given 2 kinds of sauce to add to the Bibimbob. The owner recommended the red (somewhat spicy) sauce. She said it's more popular. The other sauce, she said is a Korean soy sauce. It seemed vinegar base but milder than white vinegar. I liked both sauces and used both (probably sacrilege to do).
You get to pick how spicy you like your order. Their menu lists the spice levels. 2 of us chose mild, and the other one medium.
Typical Korean restaurant, they serve various small side dishes -- kimchee, picked cucumber, bean sprouts, seaweed in a sweet vinegar sauce, korean potato salad, steamed broccoli, and tofu skins (I think they were tofu skins).
By the time we got done, the place was almost full. Nice to see they're busy during midweek lunch.
