If you come at 9:10pm, they won't give you a plate. Your order has to be to go, even though they're open till 10pm. So delicious crepe! But I was pretty bummed to eat it out of a box.

Jewel Box is an eclectic neighborhood cafe with a varied menu of coffees, teas, smoothies, sandwiches, and crepes. They have remained consistently high quality since they opened. They are great for lunch or breakfast or an anytime snack. I've been going there for years and years and gave never been disappointed.

Google
A beautiful and very peaceful place to be. Plenty of seating (indoors and outdoors). Would love to work here but the wifi wasn’t stable today (might just be a fluke) My favourite part is that this cafe is open late in the evening and usually isn’t busy during that hour. I’ve tried lattes, season drinks, and London fog, definitely worth it! Also there’s vegan milk options. If you’re looking for a coffee in the later half of the day, this is the place to be!

Google
Not impressed by crepes, too overpriced, coffee is not too good as well, bad presentation, long wait.

Google
This place is garbage. My husband and I ordered mango blended drinks because it was a hot day and we were craving something slushy to help us cool down. It was our first time trying this place. When we got our drinks, they tasted absolutely awful and disgusting. I don’t know what they put in them, but it tasted like artificial mango flavor, powder, and water. We couldn’t even finish them and ended up throwing the drinks away after we left. I don’t understand why so many people love this place—I guess they have very low standards or just can’t taste anything.

Google
I really liked this place! No complaints from me :) the staff were super chill and nice, the food and drinks were great, and it looks nice inside.

Google
Walked in, two servers preparing some drinks. No eye contact, no greeting. Full minute goes by standing at the counter ready to place an order- one server disappears, the other starts another drink. Still no eye contact, no greeting. I don’t mind waiting, but at least acknowledge me? It’s not even that busy and they were most definitely not hustling. Walked out. Why bother? The good thing? Saved me $20.

Google
I love it here! It's my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. Jewel Box has it all: it's cute, quant, and has immaculate vibes. The staff are awesome and friendly. I also really appreciate the local art on display in the corner. Thanks!! :D

Yelp
Their seasoned grilled cheese panini is one of the best sandwiches I have had in Seattle. I was grilled to perfection with loads of excess crispy cheese and yummy pesto and tomatoes. The food was a little slow to come out but the servers were obviously working as quickly as they could. It was *busy*. The cafe has a fun sudo victorian aesthetic.

Yelp
I've visited Jewel Cafe a few times, hoping for an improvement, but unfortunately, my recent visit left much to be desired. I ordered a couple of drinks, which were disappointingly cold. Additionally, while the customer service initially seemed suave, it has not been consistent over my visits. Each time, I hoped for a better experience, but it seems the quality has not improved. The ambiance is inviting, but the service and drink quality need significant attention. I hope they can address these issues, as the cafe has potential. Until then, I can't recommend it based on my experiences.

Yelp
Food was overall pretty good and the service is pretty fast as well so if you're really hungry, its a good short wait. Their panini comes with a side of your choice of pasta salad, garden salad, or chips which I think is pretty nice. The portion size for the sandwich are pretty big and good for two meals unless you are super hungry. I didn't try the crepes but I was told it was really good especially the savory ones!!

Yelp
Drinks - the drink selection was good and I really liked the blended chai boba I got. My partner got the normal milk tea and liked it as well. The boba was well done here - not too squishy or chewy. The chai was really tasty! Service - very speedy and efficient! When I asked for a recommendation of boba or chai they recommended a blended chai with boba. That was perfect! Ambiance - it's kind of a cute and interesting little spot. Not a ton of seating but it has a fire place, books, and a few board games you can take over to the booths and tables.

Yelp
The drinks were good, hot & cold! The people were nice! Perfect destination on a sunny day!

Yelp
Very upset with attitude and service!!!! Ordered two cups of medium sized coffee. Received old coffee and they did not have enough to fill our cups. I requested the cups be filled to the top and was told I could have more coffee when a new pot was made. I was desperate for coffee and drank the not hot coffee. The other cup was not touched at all as it was not hot. When the new coffee was ready, the untouched cup had a small amount of fresh coffee added to it and was still not hot!!! My cup was only filled a small amount. I asked for it to be filled with fresh hot coffee. I was told, I had to pay for another cup!!! I complained the coffee I originally received was cool and not good. The person, I was talking to was rude and not interested in making me happy. I was told to calm down when I was shocked they would not fill the cup up with fresh coffee. I am disappointed and cannot believe a place would be so rude to a customer!!! Bad customer experience!!!!

Yelp
I wish I could update my review with more stars, but the staff makes it hard. Their food/drinks are delicious and I've ordered via delivery a few times the past few years. Was out and about doing errands and ordered some drinks to pick up and wasn't even acknowledged. I said "oh, I think these are mine" and the woman standing directly across the counter glanced up and said nothing and looked away again. I don't know if it's because I didn't tip in app (I never do when I pick up, I'd rather leave cash. Or maybe she was having a bad day, but not one person behind the counter made an ounce of effort to be welcoming. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is so cute! I had a honey latte and the breakfast crepe and they were both so delicious! The crepe was really filling too.

Yelp
It's an okay coffee shop. Pretty much everything is average. Or slightly above. Cappuccinos, hot chocolates, cookies, crepes, etc., all are "okay." A huge collection of crepes, and pretty much all are good. You won't be sorry you sat down. But it's by no means an unforgettable memory. The service is very nice and people are pleasant. That's true pretty much everywhere in the city. It's not crowded at all on a late Sunday afternoon. Maybe it gets busier at night. Or on weekend nights. The high tables are not so comfy, everything else is very nice. A bit dark inside, but it adds a vintage character. The music is nice as well. But too loud at his time of the day. Maybe to drown out the noise when it gets busy at night? I come often, when I'm walking around the area.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a hot beverage to warm me up with this chilly weather. Strolled into this hidden gem. Great little find. But, I was not greeted upon arrival or thanked for my business when leaving. That's why I knocked a star off. Otherwise, all in all seems like a nice place to do business with.

Donovan J.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken bacon sandwich about an hr prior to closing and it arguably was the worst sandwich experience I've ever had. I'm not sure if they was gearing to close or what but the bread on my sandwich was hard as a rock and shriveled as if it had been reheated. It was so hard that when I bit into it pieces of the bread would break off like crackers. Very little content was on the inside of the sandwich. I definitely will be interested to see how they handle this. There is no way whomever packages this thought that this would be ok to serve someone.

Nancy L.

Yelp
This has been a favorite place since they opened but our visit today will be our last. She seemed bothered by us coming to the counter and tried to close the order before my husband had a chance to say what he wanted. When he asked if they had beer, the answer was no, but they had wine. When he asked for white wine they said there was no white wine ( interested in your profit margin?) I pointed out there were cans of beer on the display counter. She pulled out some odd varieties of beer, saying nothing. We ordered ham crêpes. The crêpes were soggy and severely undercooked. The pico de gallo salsa inside (what?) was not fresh. There was no spinach. The mushrooms were uncooked, The cheese was a tasteless cheddar and the Dijon sauce tasted terrible. If you have no interest in interacting with people, take your taciturn attitude to some other field and stay out of restaurants .

Yelp
The Jewel Box Cafe is an amazing and cozy place to go to for breakfast or really any time. I've been going there for 4 years now. Everyone that works there are incredibly friendly and helpful. It's my go to place when I'm feeling down and need my favorite Sugar and spice crepe with EXTRA whip cream.

Wil John C.

Yelp
Ordered breakfast sandwich without cheese but it came with cheese anyway. Guess it was the cook's decision that the sandwich must be made with cheese. All I ate was half a muffin and sausage patty.

Sophia M.

Yelp
Super cute sport will come back! Great chai latte and a great place to study! Quick service.

Yelp
Jewel box stop serving food 20 min before close. This happened on a Saturday evening. Would like to support this business but not the kind of service provided. Very disappointing! You got to serve customers till when store close. Just my thoughts cause I use to work in food industry for a long time.

Yelp
Was in the area to pickup a device at the North Gate ATT store and I had 30ish minutes to spend until opening so I did a quick Yelp search for Coffee places around and this showed up in addition to a Starbucks. Decision was kind of easy for me, anything is better than Starbucks :) the place is cute, but messy and dark. I order a Cortado, the guy says that they make it, so I pay and I go sit down to work on my laptop while I'm waiting. I overhear the guy, after a few long minutes from when I placed my order, "how do you make a cortado?". The wait continued. I finally got my cortado, the guy was kind enough to tell me that it was his first one and to let him know if anything was wrong with it. I told him that there was too much milk, but that it was ok (didn't want to wait another 5+ minutes). Cortado itself was ok, too milky and super hot, but definitely better than anything I ever tried at Starbucks. I'm giving 3* mostly because of the long wait, I wonder what they do when it's busy... they should get trained in italy, where espresso making is an oiled machine, super quick and efficient.

Yelp
I do not like posting such negative reviews but here it is. This morning I dropped in to their location on Rainier near the Mt Baker train station. When I walked in (about 11:30am) there were no customers and three staff. I gave them a cheery greeting and they hardly moved and didn't say anything. I decided I wanted a breakfast sandwich, which I chose from their posted menu. Sorry, we don't have sandwiches today. I then ordered a small drip coffee. It was just okay, nothing to write home about. I want to support local businesses but this one? I'll never return.

Barbara R.

Yelp
Love the turkey panini! They even offer gf bread which is nice. Their chai tea is bomb!
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
Came in with a friend who had recommended this to me earlier, was not disappointed! Some of the best crepes I've ever had and service was impeccable! Such kind staff and delicious food and drinks! If you find yourself in the Northgate area, check this one out you won't regret it. (P.S. get the chicken bacon crepe and the strawberry boba! That's what I got and it was so yummy...)
google avatar

Yan L.

Yelp
First off super weird environment going into the store. No one greets you going inside. I picked up my order without them saying anything to me. I picked up my crepe and ate it at home. There was nothing special or outstanding about it. Honestly weird that it was salty?...The ends where the crepe was folded is super hard. Just not worth the price for a crepe that wasn't that good.
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Yeah, 1 shot for a 12oz Latte? That's not where you should be skimping. You lost my business but glad you saved 15c high five!
google avatar

Ioannis T.

Yelp
That was the worst plain Iced Americano I've ever had. So much water and only five ice cubes. More like a room temp cup of brown water then an iced americano smh
google avatar

Yelp
I've got their Nutella strawberry crepe before which is very good I came in during lunch rush (they seemed very harried) and got an incorrect order, I asked for a lemon sugar crepe and got a berry one! I took it to go so I didn't realize the mistake till I was parked at a park three errands away lol. Turned out ok since after looking at the description here on yelp, the lemon sugar is just lemon juice and sugar, (somehow I thought it would be lemon curd). Further, you'll have to ask for a plastic fork if you're on the run, there are no utensils in the stapled to-go bag! I also tried their sunset ice tea, which is tea, orange juice and I think cranberry juice and while that sounded great, it wasn't the drink for me. I'd recommend the Nutella strawberry crepe or their paninis, and ordering ahead for pick up if you're trying to beat the lunch rush! And ask for a fork if you need it!

Keith J.

Yelp
This place was a great find. The interior is small and cozy, staff was very polite and they have a yummy looking food menu but I was only there to grab a drip coffee - which was really good. The parking is ... well...there's a parking garage adjacent but it's sooo dark and the nearby outside parking lot is a metro one that had broken glass all throughout. Just so you know. I'll definitely be going back as I see they have gluten free crepes.

Carl B.

Yelp
The loud music is terrible. Not able to read or talk. Coffee good, danish like on a plane.

Bee B.

Yelp
Yo this place is fantastic. If you're going to/from the airport via the metro, I highly recommend making a stop here for a bite. Good iced coffee, good tea, great panini, great crepes, pretty much all of my favorite things that can be in a cafe. The surrounding area isn't fantastic but it's right next to the metro station so it's pretty safe to go to. This ended up being my favorite cafe in the Seattle area, despite it being just a stop I went to on a whim during my trip.
google avatar

Yelp
Only 4 stars because they aren't open for indoor seating yet or apparently outdoor seating as I was asked to not sit at the tables outside ‍. Not sure why as it was raining and there wasn't a person in sight? I could easily manage 6 ft of distance outdoors so why was I asked to move as a paying patron? Miss the inside space. Good coffee and they are doing to-go orders
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not going to lie I like this Smoothie it was very good but the café it's kind of dirty But the customer service was great I will come back

Yelp
I always come to the Jewel Box for dessert after eating at Kizuki next door. The decor is cozy but also kind of drabby. It's just kind of old now without much upgrade. The booth seats are pretty ripped up. I have never had a friendly encounter there with their employees. You always just kind of feel like you're bothering them or putting them at a huge inconvenience. The person who took our order tonight never greeted us or smiled. I was in the middle of ordering my crepe and froyo when she yelled out to whoever was making the crepe our order. It was kind of strange, and she cut me off. Weird. The one saving grace is their crepes. They are delicious. We normally get the strawberry nutella crepe, and it has the perfect amount of nutella. Yum. The crepes are cooked well and have the perfect texture. They strawberry nutella crepe is $8.49 and the strawberry banana is $.50 more. The froyo is good. Standard, but good. They give you a number for you to put on your table so they know who to bring it to. You also have to bus your own table. It's not my first choice, but it's convenient for me to l grab some dessert after dinner.

Yelp
Good ambience Crap food Chai not good Listless service Stale food Bkfst muffin worse than fast food

Yelp
Have been to Jewel Box Cafe a couple of times over the last year. I really like their chicken and bacon savory crepe. I have had the regular crepe and most recently the gluten free. Thanks for make a great gluten free crepe.

Yelp
I used to come in more often, because it's close to work, but not so much these days. And now I probably will stop entirely. I love to support small, local businesses. And I understand staffing issues recently (they do have a sign that they're hiring). I stopped in today. The last time I was here was a few months ago. Similar both times. If you're just grabbing a drink, you'll probably get it in a timely manner. But I would avoid getting food. I was there after the morning rush, and before the lunch rush (around 10:45am). Only a few people were inside at the time. After I ordered, it did get significantly busier. But that was AFTER I ordered. So why did it take over 30 minutes to get a simple breakfast sandwich? I'm guessing on the time - they didn't give me my receipt, but I know it was at least 30 minutes. The ice in my iced drink had completely melted. The drinks and food are only so-so. Which would be fine if they came out faster. But it is absolutely not worth waiting for. Word of advice to the owner - I'm guessing part of the issue is allowing online orders. I saw plenty of orders go out ahead of me that were from people that ordered online. When you are short-staffed or simply very busy, you can pause or suspend online ordering, and focus on the customers that are there in person. Also, a thank you, or any words at all from your staff would be appreciated.

Yelp
This is a really convenient spot to grab a bite or a coffee or bubble tea before or after seeing a movie. It was $7 for a super basic grilled cheese, honestly it was okay but nothing special and I didn't finish it. My boyfriend got a crepe that he liked, but said again it wasn't crazy good. The employees were really nice and they have great covid precautions and follow and enforce masking. Bubble tea was good and I'd return for that or to try an espresso drink, but I'd likely skip the food. I also wouldn't recommend coming here if you're in a hurry. It took a really long time for them to put two pieces of bread and a slice of cheese in a panini press, and there were three employees working and only one other person ordering.

Yelp
Jewel Box Café is one of my favorite places to meet up with friends or to host a small meeting. The ambiance is fantastic, warm, cozy and comfortable with multiple seating configurations to meet your needs. There is a back/side room that can be closed off and reserved; I have used that to host small meetings and it accommodated 8-10 of us fairly well. The couches by the bookshelves are comfortable and the booths are roomy. There is outdoor seating that should most definitely be taken advantage of in the warmer months. It can get a bit noisy on the weekend afternoons, but that's to be expected in a smaller space. The food is delicious. The crepe are tasty and hit the spot every time. The coffee/espresso options never disappoint and I am a huge fan of the Vampire tea.
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
Ordered a Strawberry Nutella Crepe and an Iced White Chocolate Mocha (20.oz) Coffee was good. The Crepe was also good but the amount of Nutella on there was meager. It's not bad ! it's just not impressive which is why I give a 3 star rating. The Jewel Box Cafe has a gratifying interior. Hope to see it reopen its indoor seating for a full experience.
google avatar

Sasha J.

Yelp
While Jewel Box has a vast menu with food and drink varieties, my review is based on ordering and trying their bubble tea on 5/20/21. I was surprised to see their outdoor seating wasn't "open" to use. It was a somrwhat overcast day, but warm enough for Seattle folk to sit outside, but the chairs were stacked one on top of another at each outdoor table. However, there's a beautiful courtyard area so finding somewhere to sit wouldn't have been a problem. Their indoor dining furniture is removed and there is plenty of space to wait in line. There is a flow to entering, where to pick up your order, and having access to lids, straws, etc. It was a quick and easy in-and-out experience ordering the teas. The Passionfruit and Taros teas themselves were tasty, one with lychee jelly and the other with boba. I typically choose flavors that tend to be less sweet, as opposed to asking for a less sweet tea. Satisfied my craving for bubble tea and I'll be back soon to fill up that punch card!

Yelp
This review is strictly for takeout from Jewel Box Cafe. I went over to my friend's house who kindly ordered takeout from Jewel Box Cafe for the both of us through Door Dash. She ordered for herself a Chicken Bacon Ranch Crepe and a fruit smoothie and I requested a Cobb Salad with a Chocolate Smoothie. When the food arrived we were confused by the order and even questioned if we had someone else's takeout. She did not receive her Chicken Bacon Ranch Crepe, but instead, they gave her a sandwich. And for my drink they gave me a strawberry smoothie instead of a chocolate smoothie. My friend double checked her order and everything we wanted was on there, so not sure why the order was inaccurate. Unfortunately, since takeout took about 40 minutes for delivery, we decided not to re-order. I felt bad for my friend who did not get her entree. I was not happy with the strawberry smoothie, since I am not a fan of strawberry smoothies and is why I ordered a chocolate one! It wasn't as cold as a smoothie should be, and most of the flavor came from the milk instead of the fruit. However, my cobb salad was better. There was ranch on the side for it, and the portion was a good amount. But it's not something I would crave again from here and/or willingly go to Jewel Box Cafe for. Overall, our takeout experience wasn't a pleasant one, since half the order was wrong. My friend didn't get her entree and I didn't get my drink. Not cool.
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
I come here every time I work in the area. They have great drinks. I typically get their 20oz London fog and it's generally not overly sweet and super yummy. Their crepes are delicious too. Do expect 15-20 mins wait when ordering sandwiches or crepes. Wish the operation would be faster. Their drinks are made typically within 5 mins. They now also have a punch card for drinks.
google avatar

Monica H.

Yelp
Chai Latte with almond milk, hot or iced, there's not one any better! Every time I have one somewhere else now, it's just a disappointment The crepes are pretty amazing too!
google avatar

Suejung J.

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't left a review for Jewel Box yet. I have to stop here if I'm in Northgate, they make the best London fog (and I can get it with sugar free vanilla if abstaining). They offer different food items like sandwiches but their crepes are amazing, and they have gluten free crepes available. They offer savory and sweet options. My favorite is the lemon crepe with powdered sugar but there's also a smoked salmon with mushroom, cheese, spinach, tomato, and pesto on top, there's also a ham one that was really good. I've never been disappointed by the food or drinks I've gotten here, and aesthetically it's a lovely venue to meet up and hang out at when it's safe. The venue is is only open for take out right now and I appreciate the covid protocols the staff is taking.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
I came in for a bit just to get out of the cold while waiting for a friend to see a movie ... and was delighted to discover this is one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. (I had a sandwich here last week and that wasn't half bad either!)
google avatar

Tho N.

Yelp
Good ambiance, but food was only decent. I would like to come back and try their paninis, but would likely not get another deli sandwich

k s.

Yelp
Tap water is kinda slow. Need to fix that. Also wifi kicks you out every 30min? more frequent it should
google avatar

Tanya N.

Yelp
Cute and comfy spot to have a great cup of coffee and a delicious savory or sweet crepe. They have a separate quiet area to relax in if you prefer. They are accepting dine in now. The people are really nice and helpful with any questions.
google avatar

Xichen J.

Yelp
This place is located across from the Regal movie theater, near Northgate Mall. There is free customer parking in the garage below street level. I stopped by this place on a Saturday evening before my movie to grab a bite to eat. The inside is decorated medieval style: dark and dingy. For me, it was a bit too dark, making the place feel morose. The seats are very cramped, and since everyone is in such a small area, it is hard to carry any conversation without distracting those around. I ordered a strawberry crepe. It was ok but not really worth the price. The crepe was small and rubbery. The strawberries tasted like they were canned; maybe they were. Even though the place is called a cafe, there is hardly any room to sit and work.
google avatar

Catherine G.

Yelp
I've been putting off writing a review here for a while. I've tried giving this place multiple tries, thinking that maybe they were having a bad day, as I'm a supervisor for Starbucks, so I understand the difficultly of customer service. However, this place has just gotten out of control. Alex the "manager" is just super rude to her employees and her customers. There was a deaf Uber driver in front of me trying to pick up and order for a customer. One of the baristas was trying to sign to the Uber driver and was trying to write on paper to state what she needed. It seemed like when she had grabbed the drinks, the bag had broken and the drinks spilled out. Alex was being super rude to her. It was extremely embarrassing how she was yelling at this deaf lady thinking she could hear her as well as her barista saying that "I'm handling this, don't you have a job to do?!" And actually made the Uber driver pay for new drinks even though it was the bag that was insecure. I felt so sorry for the lady, she was almost in tears as she left. On top of that. This place is just gross. There is dust on everything, the lamps above you are covered in dust. I also found out that the barista even quit because of Alex. This place is a wreck and the owner, I think his name is Tim or Tom is no where to be found. Avoid this place, there's better cafes and even crepe places in the area.
google avatar

Emma N.

Yelp
The service was pretty fast. The interior has an antique feel. The have quite a few options you don't see usually at the same establishment. They have many crepes, both the savory variety and sweet variety. I got a spicy sausage savory crepe. It was delicious. The crepe batter part was unique. Inside, there were spicy sausage pieces, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, and cilantro. I wouldn't normally pay so much for a crepe, but this one was worth it. Besides crepes, they also have deli sandwiches, bubble tea, frozen yogurt, coffee, wine/beer/mimosas... and eclectic mix. But allows for people with different taste preferences to dine together. Miscellaneous: Music playlist ranges from Beyoncé to Nelly Furtado. Art on the wall is for sale. Wifi available.

Yelp
Really cutesy cafe with lots of options for foods and drinks ! I was pleasantly surprised with the smoked salmon crepe and grapefruit mimosa . I also got a caramel macchiato that I do wish had more of a coffee taste to it , but I suppose that's what to expect when ordering a caramel macchiato lol! Fast service and the barista was pleasant! The cashier could have been nicer , but I suppose we all have our off days !

Yelp
This place never disappoint me at all!!! Been going here ever since I know this place. Before when I was still going to school, I usually come here after school to study and grab a bubble tea. It's not a quiet environment to study if you like to be alone or have some space. This place is usually pack and loud, but I do enjoy the loud environment. I just to put my ear phone, listen to my music and do my homework. I do have a problem with this cafe which is there WiFi... There is a time limit for there WiFi usage which is 2 hours. There connection are poorly and very slow. Hoping they will fix this in the future.
