Yelp
Man I never thought I would go into a Jewel store and have a great experience. As always whenever I have to go into a Jewels (as we like to call it in my family), I am in fight mode because there is just something about the stores that make me mad, whether it is the service, the physical space, lack of product or service.
Because this was a downtown store, fight mode was not only activated but turned up to 11 as I had no idea what to expect. Well I was able to dial back the knob to a 7 when I walked in the door and saw the liquor section staring at me. I needed bubbles for our staycation and there they were, waiting for me. The prices were what I would expect for downtown, so I was good with that. The physical store is tight, but since it was downtown, I expected that as well based on the store being located in a building and with real estate being pricey. I did not see anyone walking around without a mask on, so that was good.
But what I have never experienced in the history of all Jewels visit was a store employee who not only ushered me to a self check out station, but checked me out and bagged my stuff! Whaaaaaaat??? I will tell you Yelp readers, I was very confused on the inside, but cool on the outside. I have never had anyone at any store with self check out actually scan my stuff and bag it. I think if I had given the woman my credit card, she would have scanned that in for me as well.
I still don't believe it happened and I was there. I have a theory that I stepped through a rift in the time space continuum and went into a parallel universe where the Jewels still have small spaces but the customer service is epic. If this is how this Jewels rolls, I may have to start shopping here all the time. It is in a building next to parking and Spot Hero has great deals for parking, so this could work.
