Yelp
Poor service and disproportionately high prices.
For starters, we had made a reservation for an old location where they no longer serve. Unaware of the closure (no mention of it in the reservation), we arrive to an empty place, and quickly figure out based on a sign outside that they have moved locations. We were early, so all good!
We proceeded to travel to the second location, which was a parking nightmare--we spent more than 40 mins. in line to park. We finally parked and arrived at the right location (still on time for our reservation), but upon arrival we were notified that sitting was first come first serve basis without regard for reservations. This was obviously upsetting, as we came to realize our reservation was meaningless. Nonetheless, we found ourselves in a good mood and in no particular rush, so we decided to stay.
The *physical* queue for a table (no option to just sit and wait somewhere else) took over 2 hours, and when we were finally situated, it took over 25 mins. to even be offered a menu or drinks. Service workers were overwhelmed, and our waiter made several comments about how short-staffed they were. We got around to order a combo upon recommendation of the waiter, as he mentioned it was the quickest way to get our food. Food finally arrived about AN HOUR after we ordered. Drinks took over 20 minutes to be served. At this point, we were starving, sweaty, defeated... To make things worse, the food was incredibly underwhelming, the meat was tough and chewy, the sides were of incredibly poor quality to the point I would say a bag of frozen tostones in an air fryer would appear superior to this.
This subpar meal for 5 ended up costing nearly $400, or about $80 per person. We did not order dessert, nor did we go overboard with drinks (maybe 3 beers and 2 juices total). An 18% tip was included in the check, which we did not mind because this is very evidently a severe management problem, *not* a service staff issue. It is needless to say I have paid much less for meals at more reputable steakhouses I have visited throughout my short life, and about the same fine dining at a popular place in Washington D. C.
The place had been recommended by friends some time ago, but it was only recently that we got around going. I must recognize that entertainment was good, as some live musica llanera artists were playing that day, including a very talented young girl. Nevertheless, I was there for a meal with my family and the music was secondary to my purpose.
All in all, a sour experience.
