Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice

Very average plate of chicken rice. The soup was tasty though. Overall, not sure about the michelin hype.

I tried this recently and went back again today because I quite like the taste, but the service by the Chinese lady is really not it. I don’t need the most welcoming service but I also do not need the annoyed expressions even though I communicated nicely with her regarding payment and thanked for the food, at a low peak period where I was the only customer ordering. She also made it a point to stare hard at you when taking chilli, as if to make sure you don’t take too much. Would not come again and would not recommend; not worth the Michelin reco either.

It looks delicious and the chicken rice stall w a longer queue. The food was alright. Took the set Cost $6.50

Dish: Hainanese Chicken Rice Price: $4.00 (as of June 2024) Wait: No queue (11am ish) Taste: 6/10 Chicken is a tad dry, skin nicely gelatinous and smooth, flavor is towards the bland side. Key highlight is the chili and ginger paste, not as spicy and it is thick. Rice is also towards the blander side. Value: 7/10 Portion is nice for $4. There is a white cabbage soup as well. Not as worth as I feel for a hawker.

Disclaimer: Michellin is a joke. My taste bud is probably in agreement with mode or the local consumers. Ordered steamed chicken drumstick with gizzard. Cost $5.30+50¢. Also encountered the same issue of the casher asking if there is still drumstick with two more whole chicken hanging there. Pro Chili. You can add garlic to make it even nicer. Well it is average chicken rice chili which translate to good. Meh Chicken. Pretty tender with all thing consider. But it is tasteless. So just use chili lor Rice. Is also fragrance but sticky and not individualized. Gizzard quite a large serving but not enough of the chicken oil. So tasteless. Cons Soup not very nice even though it is just water plus msg.

Ordered 2 Chicken Thigh Rice and was charged $9. Both servings were NOT Chicken Thighs! There were bones from the spine of the back / spine of chicken. Asked for 2 servings of "White" "Streamed" Chicken but was told only left 1 serving of white chicken and the other portion has to be roast Chicken. There were 8 "White " chicken hanging in the showcase! Such dishonest hawker! Unbelievable!!! 👎👎👎 Chicken meat was average. Parts of the meat next to bones were raw! Rice wasn't fragrant and over cooked. 928 chicken Rice at Yishun Central still a more superior choice than this stall at Chong Pang Market. Buyers beware! 👎👎👎

I’ve been eating at this stall for quite some time, but my recent experience has been disappointing. There is an aunty serving customers who constantly comes across as rude, which completely ruined my mood while trying to enjoy my meal. The chicken rice itself was underwhelming—the rice was soggy, the chicken tough, and the portion smaller than expected. Unfortunately, the service left a terrible impression. The aunty often gives a black face, talks behind customers, and even scolded me for taking chili. Her attitude really spoiled what used to be an enjoyable meal for me. It’s sad to see a stall with potential being overshadowed by poor customer service.

Value for money and the chicken meat is v tender. Cucumber is japanese type. Wondering why the poor rating....seriously worth my money. $12 for half chicken. Picture shown is half roasted and half white. I like the white one as it taste very soft and feel like 冷鸡。Recommended to try and judge yourselves. I enjoy the meal v much.
