WFH mornings call for some comfort food as breakfast, and I got mine in the form of my all-time favourite from @jianboshuikueh! This classic 𝗖𝗵𝘄𝗲𝗲 𝗞𝘂𝗲𝗵(水粿) needs little to no introduction. When Bb first tried it at Tiong Bahru, I thought the cai poh was too greasy for my liking (to be fair, it was that one time a couple of years back) but the one at Jurong West 505 Food Centre seems to do it a lot better! If anything, the one thing that hasn't changed since is that Bb still loves the QQ and firm texture of the kuehs. Also, that hae bi hiam chilli is a nice touch to bring out the umami flavours in the cai poh even more!
Appreciate that the chilli and cai poh are separately packed from the rice cake in the box, so it's less messy to warm them up.
