I liked their Seolleongtang (ox bone soup) and stone pot bimbimbop! Their banchan (side dish) was fresh and yummy. I liked how their seafood pancake was very fluffy and not too oily. But if you’re more into crunchy ones you might not like it!

Google
I'm here eating number 18 "Dolsot BiBimBab" which in the poster on the wall says "Stone pot rice topped w/ assorted vegetables, ground beef & egg". However I don't see any ground beef in the bowl - when asked the boss kept saying just a little bit of beef. Don't order anything from this restaurant.

I keep coming back to this spot for Korean food because it’s always good and never a hassle. There’s usually a line but it moves fast and I’ve never waited more than 25 minutes even when it’s busy. The menu is huge and the food is great for the price. My favorite is the spicy pork with tofu and kimchi because it’s full of flavor and always hits the spot. I also love the free peanuts marinated in soy sauce since they’re a nice little bonus. If you want tasty, affordable Korean food with quick service, this place is a no-brainer.

Super happy with this joint. Been coming here time and time again. They make awesome and very pleasant looking dishes. You won't be disappointed coming here.

Google
My wife and I dine here often because the food is the best. It's above a Korean food market in a simple food court. We usually purchase some additional side dishes from the market which is something you couldn't do in I regular restaurant.

Google
Super-efficient and excellent food. We ordered the short rib soup and cold noodles. Both were delicious. This place has plenty of seating. The staff is also extremely courteous and friendly, and the restaurant is clean and cozy.Recommended for anyone looking for some Korean food.

Best value lunch. Been coming back for #30 Squid Pork Bulgogi on a sizzling platter for like forever. This is the place I’ll miss after moving to Germany. Wish Jian旨安 has an outlet in Düsseldorf, lol.

Google
Our favorite place to eat at HMart. Each meal comes with sides (a root vegetable and/or some flavored Peanuts), miso soup, Kimchi, etc. Everything is delicious. Our favorites include #18 Dolsot Bibim Bab, #42 Duck Mandu Kuk, #23 Bulgogi Dolsot.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick, filling, delicious, no-frills lunch, this is your spot! Stopped in here and ordered the spicy pork bulgogi. I was pleasantly surprised that the meal included a miso soup, side of kimchi, white rice, and boiled peanuts. You can easily split this between two people! The bulgogi was so flavorful and had great heat without being overpowering. I also loved the miso soup. I'd try other items on the menu next time.

Yelp
This is one of the corner stalls in the upstairs of HMart. They have a ton of variety, there's definitely something for everyone on the menu. For $15, I got the octopus stone pot. It was decent amount of food for the price. Although, it did feel like there was more onion than any other ingredient. Unfortunately, the rice didn't get crispy on the bowl like I had hoped. Especially, considering it came out sizzling. You do get some side dishes & the soup is delicious. The service was quick and its typical food court vibes.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good quality, you could tell it was not from a bag or frozen. Soy garlic had the option of spicy or not spicy. Spicy was not too overpowering. Service was straight forward nothing crazy Open food court so the vibe depends on the day, wasn't busy on a Sunday evening

Yelp
Quick service. Food was delicious. Perfect place to get homemade Korean food before or after shopping. Will come back

Yelp
Solid four stars. First, this restaurant is part of an Asian food court on top of 69th street HMart. When I lived in NYC, I would frequent Fort Lee and Little Korea on 32nd street to get my fix. I was able to get bibimbap in a sizzling hot stone bowl, and all the ingredients were super fresh. The only banchan offering was kimchi radish and pickle. My meal also came with a cup of miso soup. I have gotten used to minimal customer service from authentic Asian spots- so I can say the service was ok. I'm glad this place is here to satisfy my Korean food cravings.

Yelp
There a couple of Korean BBQ restaurants near me in Ardmore but have a limited selection of the hot post stew style dishes which I crave. Before I did monthly bulk Asian grocery haul at H-Mary I had to get my favorite stew- yukgaejang in the food court. The menu has wide variety of stews, noodle soup and bbq. Watching the other orders- all look so delicious. My stew had tender shredded beef, glass noodles and some dried Vegetable roots and mushrooms ( don't know the types- but delicious.) and green onions in a spicy beef broth. Comes with a bowl of rice, Kim chee and a side of the day( this time it was boiled peanuts) I take a scoop of rice in the broth with the big spoon they give you and it is so comforting. I want to try anther stew but I keep ordering yuk gae jang ! Prices are significantly reasonable compared to the sit restaurants I've been in Blue Bell and elsewhere. I will be back on my next grocery trip! Tip: you return your tray to the counter when you are done eating. Napkins are ice cream napkins - I bring extra ones Lol. Also bring wipes to clean the table- I don't see anyone cleaning up in food court.

Yelp
I've ordered food to go here a few times over the last few months and enjoyed it each time. You have to go in the H Mart entrance and take the escalator upstairs. There is a small, food court style eating area there if you prefer. I will grab some boba tea from S&P while I wait. I've had the kalbi, bulgogi, kimchi, miso, and more. I also walked/trained one mile back to my house with it and my food was still warm. The flavor is good, ingredients fresh, and it always hit the spot for me.

Yelp
I really enjoy the dishes here, great place for some decent and quick Korean Food, inexpensive & great portions.

Yelp
One floor above the Upper Darby H-Mart, Jian Korean Cuisine sits in the far corner of the food court. There's a sizable menu of classic Korean dishes -- you got your jjigaes, your pancakes, your bokkeumbaps. I stared at the menu for a solid 7 minutes before settling on the Kimchi Dol-Sot (hot stone pot rice). Uh... it's alright. Banchan (side dishes) of radish (aight), miso soup (ok), and pickles with sesame seeds (not today, not ever). The audible crackle of the stone pot was the best part of the meal lowkey. It was a very average Korean meal, and tasted like a sauce dump. Sadly, Philly seems to be somewhat devoid of good Korean food (someone please change my mind on this!), although this would be considered decent on Philly standards.

Yelp
I usually get the spicy pork bulgogi but wanted to switch it up going with the chicken and thinking it wouldn't be spicy but it is lol it's good though. The wait for the food wasn't long either, just a peaceful and simple feast at the food court, other people are nice too

Leslie B.

Yelp
Love the Bim Bim Bap and the Bulgolgi. Prices are great and the food quality is top notch.

Yelp
Atop the H-Mart is a food court where you can find delicious treats including Beef Bulgogi and Spicy Chicken Bulgogi. Our orders included rice, boiled seasoned peanuts, kimchi, miso broth and a variety of sauces to add the heat. My Bulgogi also came with chopped lettuce, pickled vegetables, seaweed, and sauce. The chicken Bulgogi was spicy. There was enough for leftovers the next day. Jian Korean Cuisine is usually busy. If you have to wait for your order you can always grab some S & P bubble tea and check out the houseware section or beauty store on that floor, or check in and prepare to write your yelp review. We did take out, but there are seats if you want to eat in. The tables are clean, but the atmosphere is a food court on top of a supermarket, not upscale and not quiet. The food is affordable and fresh, it tastes good and there is a lot to choose from. Plus the bonus of having all that H-Mart offers just steps away!
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
Eating at the food court when visiting H Mart is a must! This was my first time eating at Jian and I wasn't disappointed. The portions are well above what I expected for the price. The pancake was enough for the four of us to share and packed full of scallions and carrot. The bulgogi had nice flavor and I had enough leftover for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
09/24/21; Came here during our planned HMart run yet finished food too late that HMart was closed ;/ The environment in the food court is not that ideal. But for Sundubu Jjige, haven't had it for such a long time and this is absolutely satisfying.

Yelp
Jian Korean Cuisine is located on the second floor of HMart in a food court. It's the stall that's all the way in the corner. There's usually parking in front of the supermarket and there's a lot across the street as well. I got the Yookgaejang ($8.99) and it comes with kimchi, pickles, and water. For the amount of food they give you I think it's not too badly priced. I think some items on the menu are better than others though. I enjoyed my dish and thought it was flavorful, but the dish that my friend ordered tasted odd. My soup definitely hit the spot and satisfied my craving, but this isn't a place that I'd purposefully come to unless I was also grocery shopping. TLDR: Average Korean food but it's convenient place to satisfy your craving for Korean food while grocery shopping.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to Korean spots. It's located on the second floor of the Hmart, in the farthest left-hand corner. Parking can be a hassle during peak times, because the spots in front of the stores is shared, but there's two parking lots across the street. I either get the #28 (LA Gal-Bi) or #32 (Spicy Pork Bulgogi). Both are super flavorful and the spicy pork bulgogi is pretty mild. All dishes here are served with rice, soup, kimchi, and nuts. When you dine in, the entrees are served on a sizzling pan and everything is placed on trays. There are also small styrofoam cups you can get at the counter and refill at one of the water dispensers. If you want sodas, teas, bottled waters, etc. they do serve them in the fridge behind the counter. Most of the dishes are around $10, but some are slightly pricer. All of the dishes fill me up and I even have leftovers. The LA-Gal-Bi is $14 and the Spicy Pork Bulgogi is $10. I would recommend this place if you want to try new Korean dishes, but don't want to waste too much money in case you don't love it.

Yelp
What can I say? I've been influenced! I was on tik tok and seen this tik toker make Dak Dori Tang. She made it look so delicious I decided I had to try it for lunch. I immediately got on UberEats and searched the name of the dish and found this place! The spicy chicken soup was delicious and they gave you so much yummy veggies on the side. The only thing I didn't aware when ordering was that I had to chose my own spice level. I assumed it just came spicy. Luckily me and my friend had bunches of spices at home to make it super spicy without taking away from the flavor too much. I love personally love more rice than broth and will order an extra side of white rice. Will def try again.

Yelp
I love this little walk up restaurant on the second floor of HMart. The Yukaejong is my automatic go to meal. This is a one pot, deep red broth, spicy soup, thick with shredded beef, scallions and other veggies. The Yukaejong is spicy, and is literally piping hot. The atmosphere is otherwise no frills. Cafeteria style tables, sit where you can. My son loves the less spicy but no less delicious beebimbap. Parking is easy, as is walking from the train.
google avatar

Jada G.

Yelp
Considering how hard it is to get decent Korean food in the city, let alone reasonably priced, I think this place does a good job of trying to strike that balance that only ever happens up in Cheltenham. I usually get either galbitang or whatever jjigae I feel like that day, which rarely ever disappoint me. It's definitely not the "matjib" quality I'm used to from being in Korea for a while, but nevertheless is some of the closest I've gotten to that feeling. I think the only regrettable part about this restaurant is that it's in the food court of a market, which definitely hits the nail on the head as far as complex Korean department stores. Since it's so close to home, I can't help but come when I have a hankering and don't feel like cooking myself.
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
I was working in the area and this place was suggested to me by one of the locals as the "Best Korean Food" in the area. She wasn't wrong. The food was very good. So good that I went back the next day for more. The first day I had number 14. It was a fish and vegetable dish that was freshly cooked and served boiling hot. It was good! The fish was very tasty and the vegetables were great. The menu said it was a spicy dish, and it was, but not too spicy. The second day I had number 33. It was a chicken dish. Again, it was very good. Lots of chicken! The food is ordered at the counter and then cooked. It's served on a cafeteria tray with sides. The seating is shared with other restaurants. They are located on the second floor of the H Market. They are in the far left corner.

Yelp
About five years ago I use to come to this restaurant frequently. Every two weeks it was my treat for myself, my mother and my youngest son. We all enjoyed the food and look forward to dining each time. In recent years it appears that the management has changed hands several times, changing the taste and quality of the food. I must admit last year I did not dine here often, maybe once every three or four months because the style of food had changed. This is my second time within the last four months it appears a change has been made again. I order the same two items each time I go, Kimchi stew and Korean 'ribs'. Although I have never had an order no matter the management that tasted bad the changes are obvious. Let's start with the kimchi stew. Five years ago the flavor was robust, very hot/spicy and the liquid was heavy, not thick and very red. Over the years and change of management has changed that the soup liquid is now very thin, it's red however not as rich or red as in the past. The flavor is spicy but not hot as kimchi or red pepper paste is known to be. The ribs are plenty but bordering tasteless although they are acceptable when you mix the side dishes with the rice it's a nice hearty meal. There are times when you have to remind the staff to include your kimchi and side dishes as they may think non Koreans may not care for the taste. I have taken my food to go several times and my kimchi was missing. What I can say positively about ordering from this restaurant is, it's a good value for your money. Because Ji An is in a small dining area instead of a restaurant their prices are a lot cheaper. The restaurant is in a mall food court area where you can sit and eat or take your food to go. The food maybe watered down simply because different families cook different ways. But when I want some Korean food I will keep this place in mind especially when it comes to getting more bang for your buck!

Yelp
A quick fast food Korean joint above from H mart. I got the OX tail soup for about $9. Kinda pricey but they give you rice and kimichi and there's free water so I'm not complaining! My friend got the stone pot chicken, I don't remember and I regard getting what I got cause her portions were huge!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday with my dad. We were planning go shop at Hmart and decided to grab some lunch upstairs. This place is one of the busier places in the food court. The Korean lady wasn't as helpful in answering my questions about the menu. Ultimately settled on the la galbi and the pork bulgogi. Both dishes comes with seaweed soup (meh), bean sprouts in some kimchi sauce, and radish/daikon. The la galbi wasn't that great - flavors were somewhat bland. It comes on a sizzling cast iron plate. Probably not worth the 14 bucks for the meal. The bulgogi was good - I would order this again. For $10, I was pretty stuffed after the meal and was a big lunch. Give this place 3.5 stars overall

Yelp
So by eating here, I have now completed my tour of every place in this food court. Yay, me! Here, I decided to try the omurice. An omelet with fried rice... why the hell not? In my times of coming to this food court, I happened to notice a lot of the regulars here eating this dish. The gentlemen behind the counter tells me it is really popular with the Korean students. Good enough endorsement for me. It's not overly flavorful, but it's well made. Probably not the most adventurous thing to eat here. But, the rice was well made, flavored mildly with shrimp, and seemed to work very well with the egg. I'd eat it again. But next time I'm going deeper into the menu.

Yelp
Located in a food court on the 2nd floor of the H-Mart, Jian specialized in traditional Korean cuisine. Most dishes are under $10 and are good to very good in taste. I would recommend the Nakji Dol Sot (octopus stone pot), which has been my go-to dish for over a decade. They also make a surprisingly good Naeng Myun (buckwheat noodles in a cold broth). Very limited ban chan (side dishes), but understandable considering it's food court food.
google avatar

Jo L.

Yelp
Stone Pot!! If you come early on a Saturday right about the time they open, there is still a lot of tables open and parking outside. I've had 2 different stone pots here and enjoyed both of them. The first one I had was Squid Stone Pot. The pot was really hot so my rice was a bit crispy - just the way I like it. The rice was still nice and hot up until my very last bit. However, the squid was a bit chewy so it was hard to bit apart. The second one was the Veggie Stone Pot. I really liked everything in this mix, however, the pot was not hot enough this time so the rice was not crispy and cooled pretty quickly. The guy here is super nice and helpful. You can ask him anything about the menu and can tell he knows his stuff. There are water fountains around the area so if you wanted some water, you can just ask for a cup from the business you ordered food from.

Yelp
Excellent authentic home cooked Korean dishes for under $10. Bulgogis, different baps of spicey casseroles with different ingredients spanning meat to seafood and veg. Famous bibimbap rice bowls. Served with sides of bonchon like kimchees and other assorted pickled spicey veggies. Great meal for lunch or dinner
google avatar

Shereen C.

Yelp
You can get so-so overpriced food at Jian Korean Cuisine. LA Galbi was extremely thin. The beef was not great; it seemed low quality and not very flavourful. This dish was rather pricey for what you get ($12.99). About 2 stars The jigae stew was okay, though it was very salty. About 3 stars. The spicy red cabbage kimchi was mediocre. The other banchan was okay.
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
Always good food here. Bimbimbap is stone hot, with as much sauce as you want on the side. Bulgogi is great and on a hot plate, and rice is perfectly cooked. Great place.
google avatar

Alfred G.

Yelp
I was hyped up to have great Korean food at H-mart and was kind of disappointed here. It was okay at best and a bit pricey considering it is a food court. Yes it is convenient after shopping at H-mart but honestly could be so much better.
google avatar

Deanna P.

Yelp
Food came in very hot (which was amazing)! It's our first time eating Korean food and it was very interesting. Loved the chicken vegetable hot soup with a side of Roman noodles. Wasn't a fan of the other one we got, but that's trying new places and new things thank you for being our first in Korean cuisine

Greg C.

Yelp
Got the pork and squid bulgogi here, and it was super tasty. can't comment on the other dishes but this was great. Comes with rice and sides of kimchi and cauliflower and a tofu soup, all also delish.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
I love this place and wish it were located inside my house. I would eat every meal here. Everything I've had has been delicious. They have a variety of dolsot dishes (sizzling stone bowls) and various stews and noodles. My favorites are soondubu jjige and ojing-a-dolsot (squid). Each comes with a small soup and two banchan: boiled peanuts and kimchi. Once we tried the place next door (Monsieur, I think--it's not in English), but it was nowhere near as good. Bonus: Everything is under $10!
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
i ate here without reading the reviews and strongly stand by my 4 stars. i got the galbi tang and it was great. not bland at all. you get two side items with it. pretty straightforward. im glad in a way i didn't read the yelp reviews beforehand. food court is upstairs
google avatar

yoohyun o.

Yelp
I come here to eat soondae (blood sausage) soup on rainy days before grocery shopping. It's in a bone broth with perilla seeds. Sometimes nothing else can hit the spot. Split that and one of the dolsots w/ a friend (& grab a king bun from the mandu place, split it in half with a wooden chopstick as an appetizer). The seafood pancake is also pretty satisfying when it rains. They offer some seasonal selections as do some of the other spots in the food court, especially in the summer (season of the cold noodle soups-- look for kongguksu aka cold soybean milk soup but get it earlier in the day as they run out and it's better fresh).
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
I ordered a kimchi bowl and it was delicious. Hot and fresh. Staff were very helpful picking something out as I was relatively unfamiliar with the menu.
google avatar

Jaja H.

Yelp
The seafood pancake was a huge portion, so it's great to share with another person or as an appetizer. I love that the green onions didn't overpower the taste and that it wasn't greasy. The seafood tofu soup was good as well, except that the egg wasn't runny by the time we got it, and I prefer it to be runny in the soup. But the tofu was delicious.

Yelp
this is located in the food court on the 2nd floor above hmart. it is the ONLY place i eat at when i'm there. why? cuz their korean food is BOMB-freakin-TASTIC. the other fast food places in the food court are all japanese or korean/chinese fusion cuisines, so for me, this is an easy choice. the portions are huge and SO cheap! $8 for dolsot bibimbap? $7 for soondubu? $8 for kalbi? BRING IT ON!!! each order also comes with a side of seaweed soup, rice, and some banchan (side dishes, usually consisting of kimchi, beansprouts, radish or cucumber). the sides are just ok. but tell me, where else in philly can you get fast food of such good quality and quantity for this kind of a price? yesterday, i accidentally ordered pork belly. but it was SO GOOD and SPICY! serendipity, i tell ya :) you just can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Jian is a great place to connect with the inner Korean in all of us. So easy, so tasty, so cheap! Both the pork bulgogi, and the pork and squid bulgogi are great. And at around $10 with tax, a fantastic deal. The squid and kimchi dol-sot are also very good. Jian is a nice alternative to more formal Korean restuarants; everyone can order what they like since the food isn't served family style at Jian.

Lynn Y.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber eats. Got the daegu tang. It was mediocre at best. The soup had lots of fish and veggies in it which was nice but it was so bland. I wouldn't come back unless there was absolutely no other Korean food options...
google avatar

Zhen L.

Yelp
This is the perfect place if u wants some authentic Korean fix and at a fair rate! I try most of the items on the menu but my favorite is the combo #30 the galbi also known as the short ribs, it is so delicious that I would always get 2 to 3 more orders Togo:)
google avatar

Nikki S.

Yelp
This place is alright. I definitely had better Korean food, but it's nice to stop by here after building up an appetite from shopping at H Mart. I usually get the #2, which is a kimchi tofu soup that comes with rice and two side dishes (banchan). I don't really like the banchan here. It typically comes with kimchi (which is very acidic and taste like kimchi from the jar) and daikon. I personally don't like daikon. Daikon really doesn't taste like anything and is firm like an uncooked potato. How is that appetizing? I have also tried meat dishes here. They are decently priced at ~$10, but it's much cheaper to buy marinated meat at H Mart and cook it at home (H Mart's meat is just as tasty).

Robert B.

Yelp
Our first experience in the Koreatown of Philadelphia has not disappointed. My wife and I stopped at Jian Korean Cuisine in Upper Darby for lunch and were amazed at the taste and quality of our meal. We would highly recommend Jian to any friends looking for a nice meal near the outskirts of Philadelphia. We will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Anita S.

Yelp
Came here as part of grocery shopping at H-mart. The prices here are fantastic for Korean food, glad that it can be a more accessible and affordable part of our dinner routine. We got 2-3 banchan with our dishes, and my soondubu was well-flavored. It had more of a broth consistency/was less stew like than what I was hoping for, but was hearty and full of seafood nevertheless.
google avatar

J. Christopher E.

Yelp
I very much enjoyed the bibimbap on the hot stone. The pork and squid bulgogi was also pretty good. A bit of a trek from center Philadelphia, but worth going if you also go to do your shopping at H Mart. The restaurant is also very cheap. Also.....if you want the spicy sauce that usually comes with bibimbap be sure to ask for the hot sauce on the side.
google avatar

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall food & service NOTES: * It's above the H-Mart (Asian) Grocery on the second floor. * Parking Lot is across the street. It's usually free, but sometimes it's $4. * Yes, they take Credit Cards, but my (2) meals with drink was less than $20 * Cafeteria Style Seating MY MENU: ** (#19) Kimchi Dol-Sot (heated)~ (4.5) Very good...get a side of Hot Sauce too. * (#17) Bibimbab (cold) ~ (3.5) good

Yelp
Some of the BEST Bi Bim Bop in Philly! Everytime we come to H Mart we make the stop for soup, noodles, their house made hot sauce is one of the best Ive ever had.

Yelp
Situated in a small Korean food court above the Hmarr. You can find various Korean and Chinese fare. Nice and cheap.

Yelp
I was in the 69th Street area the other day, and I was looking for a spot to get some lunch. After passing up on countless cheese steak - pizza spots, I saw a asian guy smoking a cigarette in front of a store. I asked him if there was a Korean restaurant nearby and he replied" Yes, on the second floor of the H Mart around the corner". I trekked a couple or blocks and found a building with a food market on the first floor and a food court and a few shops on the second floor. I went over to Jian's and because it was such cold day, I ordered a steamy bowl of yook kae jang which is sort of like pho. It came with steamed ricê, kim chee and a few sides of Korean style veggies. After paying, I asked the lady for some black pepper and generously sprinkled it all over the soup, it's a trick I learned from a Korean roommate I had in school to make a dish even more spicy. The lady yelled out "too much "! I smiled and said "that's how I like it ". The soup was okay, but it could of used more shredded beef and less egg for me. I didn't feel it was kosher to write a review on a bowl of soup, so I ordered some kalbi, Korean style BBQ beef ribs to go. When I finally reached home I was hungry again and proceeded to chow down on some ribs! Not good, the ribs had never touched a flame and tasted like they were Marinaded for minutes instead of hours. A total fake out! Shame on them.
