Today I tried this Korean BBQ spot, and while the service was impressively fast and very friendly—which I truly appreciated—the overall experience just wasn’t for me. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was brought out quickly, but unfortunately, the flavors of the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. I really liked the spicy spinach and peanut salad, though. It might be a hit for others, especially if you enjoy a more casual BBQ vibe, but personally, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped.

The $40 all-you-can-eat was worth it. Just make sure to let them know otherwise they will charge you. The food was fresh and the seafood was delicious even though I never got the tilapia. It was busy so the attention span of the server was average. The fire pit guy was more attentive than the server. He made sure our burned plate fire was changed out🤣🤣. The atmosphere was clean, clean, and clean. Thank you for a great visit. There was no time limit when we visited.

This location felt a lot newer compared to the Chinatown branch, which was a nice change. The food was overall good—some dishes were a bit on the salty side for my taste, and the veggies could’ve been a bit fresher, but nothing that took away from the experience too much. For the price, it offers solid value. A bit more attention to cleanliness would make it even better. All in all, I had a good time and would come back again—maybe not super often, but definitely worth revisiting.

Not bad for AYCE bbq at $40. Run by Chinese people as is the norm for Korean restaurants here. Grill swapper is very attentive and quite friendly. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Plates: marinated ribeye steak - 6/10 black pepper beef rib strip - 5/10 la galbi (bone-in short rib) - 7/10 garlic beef slices - 4/10 juicy beef navel - 6/10 spicy beef - 5/10 house special beef - 4/10 spicy pork belly - 8/10 spicy chicken thigh - 9/10

We came here yesterday as a party of two and had a really great experience. The portions were just right for sharing, and the meat came out juicy with a nice smoky flavor. The side dishes were fresh and balanced out the heavier cuts really well. Service was friendly and attentive without being pushy, and the atmosphere felt casual but lively — perfect for a relaxed dinner. Prices were fair considering the quality, and we left full and satisfied. Definitely a spot we’d come back to together.

Google
A solid AYCE KBBQ spot with a spacious, modern vibe and efficient service. The side dishes and salads were well-seasoned, and the classic cuts like pork belly and steak were definitely the standouts.

Great food. Flavors pop and hit right where you want them to. Super generous portions.

Good Korean ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BBQ. You get your iPad and your table with a grill. They bring you sauces and dips and all you do is just order on the iPad and wait for plates to arrive to your table from kitchen. Some menu items such as scallop vermicelli are limited. Drinks are extra. They have many meat options, my favorite being garlic beef slices (pretty fatty so you can’t eat a lot of it) and black pepper beef strips. I liked this location a little better than the one on Chinatown. Great service. They also have better grills so the food doesn’t stick as much.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Devid is the most sweetest and accommodating. Great food quality! Super clean and friendly definitely recommend! Huge and fresh portions. COME HERE.

Yelp
if you love AYCE Korean BBQ be sure to stop by the Lincoln Park or Chinatown location of Jiang Niu! We went to the Lincoln Park location right on kingsbury st. I love the presentation of all the meats, and the Chinese fusion added in. They have premium ingredients that you can grill to your hearts content! Great for groups! Service is very attentive and they serve your meat quickly and turn over the grill. If it's your birthday, you'll eat for free!

Yelp
No one was to greet us at the front of the door. I found the sign in kiosk myself and signed in, and we waited. There was only "one" person in front of us, but we saw 3-4 parties served before us... I asked and they said we were still in line... We were so confused and felt so unwelcome. Another bigger party walked in, and signed in and THEN we got our seat... The wait line confused me, I wish someone was there to explain and walk through as someone who is new and from out of town. As for food, it was good! Your simple bbq staples but more chinese influence. I wouldn't mind going again, if the service gets better. **I don't know if it was just my party, but we just felt unwelcome the whole time.... It really takes a lot from the rating.

Yelp
We came here for a lunch on Sunday and we both ordered a bowl instead of getting the AYCE. gotta say, the stone bowl bibimbap and the bbq beef bowl were both great!! If you're ever not in the mood for a white person brunch, this is the place to get your Asian fill without spending an arm and a leg. It's no frills but I'm definitely a fan. We'll have to come back for dinner and actually grill!

Yelp
To Birthday Boy/Girl, This is the right place to go! You can get a one free meal on your birthday. Food - 5/5 Food are good, multiple type of food from the menu: beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and vegetables. Besides, you can order some hot dishes, such as soup and fried rice. Lastly, don't forget to order s'more before you leave! Service: 5/5 Food are serve by robots, but the staff will help with your order. You can order more food within the 90-minute time limit. Ambiance: 4/5 The design of the restaurant is very modern. There is a small bubble tea shop inside the restaurant, but not sure if it is open. Price: 5/5 Price is reasonable for the quality of food. Even cheaper if it is your birthday!

Yelp
Great food, clean environment, good service highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
The pros: - Good quality food - Good service, especially by Chinese restaurant standards - Inexpensive The cons: - Quite smoky even with the hood vents - Pretty empty which does not give off good vibes This would be a good place to go with a group of friends, especially with a group of friends who don't know much about bbq. It's beginner friendly and has accessible drinks.

Yelp
I came here for a company lunch and everyone loved the place! Quality- the meat freshness, cut, and seasoning is on the higher end of bbq places I've been to. My favorite is the spicy pork and beef. I wish the squid, shrimp, and tilapia had more sauce and flavoring. I could tell the seafood is not this places strong point but the beef and pork is very good. One more critique is that the grill isn't oiled much so it takes longer to cook the meat and is easier to burn stuff. Quantity- all you can eat. Wish there were more vegetable and appetizer options though. 26 bucks per person for lunch is a steal! Atmosphere- nice clean welcoming atmosphere Service- the servers were surprisingly fast.

Yelp
Tasty meat, huge shrimp, savory sauces, and cool presentation! It was the first time in my life I cooked meat this way, and it was an exciting experience. It's great when you can explore on your own how to make meat taste the best.

Yelp
Looking forward to returning. Went with a girlfriend for K bbq and luckily this was near by. There is a decent variety for grilling meats ...mostly beef, few pork options, some chicken and seafood. We tried many of the chef recommended items in the menu. The beef flavors were just okay. The marinade isn't overpowering. The shrimp was really good. The little ban Chan dishes could be better. I wish kimchi wasn't an extra charge. They have some tasty spicy salads and soon dubu with whole shrimp that is included in the AYCE menu.

Yelp
Pretty good Korean/Chinese fusion bbq. I would say the lunch pricing is probably the most reasonable price for the quality. It's $28 for lunch and $37 for dinner. For service, it is a bit slow to get water and your check. The Lincoln park location just had one waitress for the entire restaurant. But you do order from an iPad and the dishes come out pretty quickly. Items that stood out for me were: the Jiang Niu salad, the pepper steak, the king oyster mushrooms, the seaweed soup, and the pork belly. You can eat here for free on your birthday! You just need to show your ID to receive the free meal.

Yelp
New place to me. Promoted as a Chinese Korean fusion. The source from an area north east in China near the Korean Peninsula. Variety of raw meats to be grilled at the table. Luckily the waitress helped us out cooking. Center of the grill is very hot. Pork belly in strips and whole thin pork chops are cooked and cut into pieces to finish with a scissor. A wide variety of meats can be picked. Two meats per person picked at a time. Premium other selections for additional cost are on the back of the menu like fried rice. Food can be served on a Ferris wheel but you pay 6 or 8 dollars for no more food. Food was varied and good but it was mostly the experience to go for. The menu and process took a lot of time to explain. I would go back. The best deal is a free dinner on your Birthday. The restaurant is clean and new. Not Smokey. Oh, forgot about the Robots. Food comes to the table on a robot.

Yelp
Korean BBQ is a lot of fun. There's something peaceful about cooking your own food right in front of you. With the premium all you can eat option, you get to try all sorts of unique and different meats. Shrimp and spicy squid is not something I would've expected to cook but I succeeded in doing so. The beef is obviously the best but there's other land critters for eating as well.

Yelp
Newly opened AYCE Korean BBQ! Loved our visit there. The service is top-notch, the wait staff very attentive and friendly. The ordering process was smooth - you order everything you would like from an iPad for unlimited rounds. We enjoyed the quality and flavors of the meat and dishes, too. We enjoyed the Fatty Beef Slices, Beef marinated in Garlic Sauce, Pork Belly, Cheese Corn, and the most important dish - PLEASE ORDER - Sweet and Spicy Vegetable Salad. It's soooo good! They also have very reasonably priced liquor and delicious cocktails. Import Tsingtao beer for only $5!

Yelp
I came here for a free birthday meal of AYCE BBQ with a friend! Just show up on your birthday and bring your ID as proof that it's your bday! Their happy hour deal is pretty good with limited options for $27.99 and their premium meal is around $35 I think. I had their happy hour AYCE and their garlic beef slices, spicy pork belly, tilapia, and black pepper steak were all pretty good! Their garden salad comes with a delicious black sesame dressing which is really good. The waitress/hostess was super nice and attended our needs quickly! She checked on us often and switched out our grill and checked our stove to make sure it was the right temperature. The happy hour also comes with dessert (smores and ice cream), but it's a small portion (one piece of chocolate and half a scoop). I was fine with that bc I was so full and didn't have room for a big dessert. You can roast your marshmallow over the open grill and it melts pretty quickly! When you order your food, you enter it in the tablet at the table and it's pretty quick!

We enjoyed the quality and flavors of the meat and dishes, too. The most reasonable price for the quality. It's $28 for lunch and $37 for dinner.

Yelp
The lunch special is amazing! So delicious. I get it whenever I can. Great place for take out, the staff always has my food ready in time.

Yelp
I went here on the opening weekend (unintentionally) and am just now reviewing as I am seeing that the new location is now up on Yelp! I think it was about $37 for AYCE and the drinks happened to be half off for opening weekend. Here is my review of some of the dishes. My favorite meats were the marinated rib eye steak and black pepper beef rib dices. So good! The garlic beef dices were definitely a close third! The black pepper steak and the garlic beef ribs were also good, but not as good as the others. The pork belly has the least flavor of the meats we tried. The button mushrooms were also really good, but the king oyster mushrooms didn't cook as well. The cheesy corn was exactly as expected, but nothing special.

Yelp
$36.99 for AYCE located in Lincoln Park. Plenty of street parking. This is a Korean INSPIRED Chinese BBQ place, so don't get your hopes up if you're looking for more Korean flavor and options as I was . In addition to AYCE, they do have an a-la carte menu. One nice thing about the AYCE menu is everything on the a la carte menu is 50% off. They serve liquor and beef if you're interested. There's actual a lot on the menu but I thought the beef was just ok. My favorite is the Beef Navel because it's the fatty beef that you would hot pot with. The seafood tofu soup is supperrr spicy, so if you can't handle spicy then I suggest you pass. I can't eat like I use to, so I didn't feel like I ate my fair share of AYCE. interested in their a la carte menu items though, so if I come back, will order from that menu.

Yelp
The food here was really good, and the service was quick, which is essential at a KBBQ place. I had a great time with my group of 6. One thing to nitpick is that the wait for a table was more than 15 min, and that's after we made a reservation. But the food is great and the vibes are good too. I'll be back.
google avatar

Ingrid Y.

Yelp
Clean. Speedy service. Good variety of menu items. I'm glad we still have a KBBQ place in the area after the last one in this space closed, but I'm still chewing a piece of meat from my lunch here last Sunday, so I can't really recommend the place for quality.

Yelp
It was very empty upon arrival which was nice for a chill happy hour. We enjoyed having a variety of meats and veggies to choose from. First time, cooking our meals in front of us at a restaurant and it was a great experience. Drink were a little watered down. Staff were friendly and patient. It just opened about a month or 2 ago.

Yelp
We came during happy hour on a Wednesday and we were the only ones in the restaurant so the service was super fast. We tried almost everything on the happy hour menu from meats to soups and veggies! Everything was good. I loved the powder that comes in the sauce dish.

Yelp
Their chicken wings are awesome !!! They even help you to cut it up so it's easier to cook and not burned. My favorite is definitely garlic beef. Servers are excellent so is the environment. I didn't order any alcohol today but I know their lychee martini is the top 3 drinks. Absolutely will come back to try more stuff and have more fun!

Yelp
this place was genuinely the best korean bbq spot i've ever been to. i literally moaned out loud multiple times it was that good. service was amazing and the food was incredible.

Yelp
Food is good. Ambiance is amazing but the service sucks. Maybe because they are short handed.

John ..

Yelp
Great food and service. Love the marinade on the house special meats. They never let you go empty. As soon as they see you run low they come by and take your next order. It took all my will power to not order more cuz i was stuffed already

Saiwei H.

Yelp
Went there during a week day evening. Food quality and service not as good as the Chinatown location... Needs some work.

Chirsten Z.

Yelp
Just save your money and go to Gyu-Kaku... the prices here were good but the food was not worth it. Our steak was oxidized and unseasoned. The chicken was rubbery. The fish was completely unseasoned. The salad had slimy lettuce at the bottom and rubbery mushrooms. There was even a guy throwing up in the bathroom because "the food was not sitting well". People looked like they were having a good time and we did enjoy ourselves, the staff was very nice. But the food... soooo unpleasant.

Lydia P.

Yelp
Everytime I come here it's an absolute joy! High quality meat, from fatty to lean, there's so many options for meat. We'll come soon again!

J M.

Yelp
went here for a group dinner and was very disappointed. Once we informed the waitress that we were ordering Ala-carte, there seemed to be a noticeable reduction in attention. when a waiter came over, he could not answer questions, because he did not speak English. Once our food came, one of the burners was barely hot enough to heat the meat, so instead of having a nice sear, it was slowly warmed through. After several attempts, the waitress finally came and fixed the flame. Once we finally received lettuce for wrapping, it was literally dripping water and had to be dried off before it could be eaten. The only reason the score is not a 1, is that the food was good. not great, but good.

Kristen S.

Yelp
Ordered take out this evening and everything was so tasty. I had the bbq beef bibimbap and Sichuan peppercorn dried tofu salad. The tofu salad is so delicious, been looking for something like this for awhile. I look forward to dining in and trying more items!

Charles K.

Yelp
Food had good taste but the black pepper steak meat was very chewy and took me literally minutes to swallow. The pancake was good tho, I would maybe order again to try something new but was disappointed overall with the bento box
