Great food, great service and great price! We ordered the sweet buns, the chicken legs, a meatball and the spicy noodles. Everything was good and to my taste except the spicy noodle soup. I thought it was going to be prepared Taiwanese style, but it came prepared more sezchuan style with the hot peppers typically used in that cuisine. The meal hurt my mouth so much it was spicy and essentially ruined my meal thereafter. Luckily it was the last dish that we had. I recommend the meatballs and the sweet buns, both were excellent!

Amazing authentic Shanghainese Chinese food. The flavors are spot on and confident, unlike some places that overseason the food in order to compensate for a lack of knowing what the dish should taste like. The small restaurant seats about 20 at a time, but the wait wasn't too bad (30 min on a Friday night) yet. Do yourself a favor and head over there before word gets out and it goes to a 2 hour wait. All 8 of the dishes we tried were delicious, but you can't go wrong with the lionshead and braised pork and quail eggs. Forced to list a downside, I'd point to the lone unisex bathroom can only be accessed through the kitchen, so you may want to take care of business before hand or wait until after to avoid the hassle. But it's a small tradeoff to experience this hidden treat.

Best Jiang Su cuisine I’ve ever had, highly recognized by my two friends who come from there. Everything is so delicious! It’s a pity that for me it’s beyond delivery distance for almost every apps:(

It was great to try a type of Chinese food I don't know. We had dumpling soup, Lion's head meatballs, pork belly with quail eggs, sauteed rice cake with pickled cabbage, and some other dishes. Everything was very enjoyable.

We went for dinner on a recent Friday night. A very small restaurant with seating for approximately 8 tables of four people, but worth the wait -- or if you can get there early or late because the crowds seem to die down quickly as the neighborhood is far out in outer Richmond. Dishes and flavors are great, and relatively reasonably priced. The $5 pork meatball is flavorful and fluffy. A must is the Delicious Pork roast in sweet dark sauce -- a Shanghai specialty. Ma Po Tofu is nicely done without the overwhelming red oil of the more Szechuan-style restaurants. Courteous and nice service as well (only 2-3 people working the front of house), and you leave with a good family style feeling.

Great tasting authentic Shanghai food. I recommend the Lion Head Meatball (Pork Meatball) and the Braised Pork (Pork Belly) It's a small restaurant with a decent amount of seating. The line is usually small, but if you have to wait, the wait is fairly quick.

I read about this place in the Chronicle. I could tell even from the phone call that this was gonna be a good place. The woman who is taking care of customers in orders is really kind. I ordered all vegetarian: the spicy tofu, the grilled cabbage, and the potatoes with green pepper. The flavors were super tasty. I’m sure ordering meat dishes would be fantastic here, I just was in the mood for vegetarian and it was excellent.
