Jidori Cuisine Ken

"Jidori roughly translates as ‘premium chicken’. In a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, the signature chicken skewer menu is available in 5, 8 or 10 courses. The chef masterfully uses a range of chicken parts to conjure up different flavours and textures and adds salt throughout the process which enhances the underlying smoky complexity. Save room for the homemade Japanese Ken custard – a decadent caramel dessert that manages to avoid the cloyingly sweet trap." - Michelin Inspector

The food was generally delicious. The cold tofu, in particular, had a rich flavor you can’t find at other places—it was excellent. The Japanese custard pudding I had for dessert was also very tasty. The staff provided excellent service, and the restaurant has many private rooms, making it a very comfortable space. However, the area near the stairs going up to the second floor next to the first-floor restroom had an unpleasant sewage smell. I think this should be improved.

Jidori is one of the favorite izakaya and yakitori in Bangkok and I'm a regular customer for more than 13 years. The food is very consistent and great. Yakitori is good but not best in town anymore due to the amount of high-end yakitori restaurants in town. A great Japanese izakaya restaurant in Sukhumvit area.

Food really good, the grilled chicken breast was worth it. Service was friendly and quick even for non thai speakers. Ambiance was good a bit night but very comfortable

Great food, friendly service. I loved the grilled rice. The yuzu chicken thigh was a real highlight- great flavour combination with well cooked meat. The tomato was nothing special but everything else we ordered was superb.

Located in a Japanese alley right behind my hotel in the center of Bangkok. Walking in the alley feels like I’m in Japan. I love the food there. After a hot and humid day trip, sitting at the bar with a cold draft beer and enjoying all the great food, I feel like I’m in heaven. A tip: I suggest not bringing your young kids there after dark, as you might have difficulty explaining the presence of the sexy girls sitting in front of the massage parlors across the narrow street.

Jidori is an undiscovered treasure – I had no idea such a fantastic restaurant existed here. Booking can be a challenge since they don't answer the phone during the day; opening at 5, calling around 4:30pm might secure your reservation. Moving on to the main course, the grilled chicken lives up to its stellar reputation and is undeniably worth its price. Personally, the standout for me was the sake combination set, perfect for someone new to this realm. Lastly, the dessert – the green tea ice cream was incredibly rich and a true indulgence.

Yakitori restaurant listed in Bib Gourmand. Located in the back alleys of Phrom Phong, a famous Japanese street. The juicy yakitori is made from local Thai chicken and is extremely tasty. And it is probably more expensive than yakitori restaurants in Japan. Sake available, course menus recommended.

Michelin guide izakaya serving chicken yakitori dishes and other cooked dishes, Paired with an extensive range of sake. The quality is good and comparative to tori tama. Of course the best is still Otowa in Tokyo but that’s just my opinion. The place is dark but they have quite a big space with lotsa of dining tables that are well spread apart. Prices are reasonable. Take your own sweet time in a place like this and enjoy a bottle of kubota or dassai with your food.
