Google
Great breakfast and coffee! Small selection of breakfast items. Mostly on-the-go sandwiches and things like biscuit and gravy bowls (like the hipster bowl I had was fantastic!). Really like that the biscuit is square for my breakfast sandwich. It was so big, I was able to eat it open faced and save the other half. The coffee selection was great, lots of different drinks that you don't see on menus at other coffee chains. Atmosphere is nice too and the staff are very friendly. They have indoor seating available and it's usually not all full.

Google
If you hate that Starbucks is your only early coffee option in this area, here’s your place! Open at 6am, with fresh-made food options and very solid espresso drinks with some added whimsy. Everything you want for a morning stop if you’re an early bird!

Sue L

Google
Went in to get a latte and mocha. They both were awesome. The best surprising part was the pup cup the lady made for us. Update: Awesome customer service. Used Door Dash to order the White Chocolate Mocha and Latte. Asked for pumpkin spice latte on the special instructions since it was not on the online menu. The WCM and PSL are so good. The New York Coffee Cake is the best in town.

A lot of people seem to be a fan of this place but I personally was not very impressed by my experience. Service was rather slow when I went here with a group of friends on Saturday morning and the line took forever to make any progress, I'm not even sure why exactly. The people inside were friendly and servers were willing to answer any questions, though. The coffee shop was pretty clean, comfortable, and it seemed to attract a group of regulars. I was also not super impressed by the coffee and it tasted like a lot of other places, as did the bagels. Perhaps I am just overly picky, though. I'd give it another try if I were invited again but it's not somewhere I'd seek out on my own.

Google
The food and coffee are SOOO good here. You have got to try the Hipster Bowl. Delish! Just had the ginger biscuit too. They have a great menu to choose from as well as a pastry selection. The staff are friendly. There's always a dispenser of water out for everyone and it's always clean. Now if there was just a small area for kids to play, that would make Jim and Patty's perfect!

Reine

Google
A cute, friendly place, bustling in a Sunday morning. Their biscuit is quite decent! I’ll give it a southern church lady wouldn’t be mad at it favorably rating. They also have many other breakfast and baked goods to choose from. I could give it a 5 if the patrons were only more attractive, it is in a suburb place after all.

Google
Haven’t tried the coffee yet but I certainly want to. I had a onion bagel sandwich it was sooooo good! You can tell the bagel was made fresh. Worth the wait. The place seemed a little dirty but the food is great! Will be returning.

Google
Must go. Amazing pastry. Must try. Good coffee. Great lattes. Must try the peanut butter fudge mocha. Very homey feel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Just an overall awesome experience.

Yelp
Always the best coffees, Chocolates, Teas, Milkshakes and breakfasts I love the hippie culture ambience I especially love their hippie cookies which sell out fast. Ordering at the counter, you can get anything customized. The service is down home and friendly. Free WiFi and two dining rooms. Plenty of parking Come on by when you're ready to relax

Chul L.

Yelp
The food was great, especially the Hipster Bowl. The coffees are amazing too. However, the service was very slow. I wish they could improve their service.

Yelp
I haven't been to Jim & Patty's in years! I remember the coffee being good, can't remember if I had become vegan by then. I don't drink coffee very often, but lately I've been reading a lot and have been craving good coffee in a coffee shop that has comfy seating with vegan options. I ordered a Salted Caramel Mocha with oat milk, the coffee was very good. I was wanting a savory breakfast, not very many vegan options. I got veggie sausage on dried sourdough toast. I didn't even get tomatoes on my sandwich. :( I visited Jim & Patty's on July 17th, 2023. Later in the day, I learned that Jim passed away that day. I was very sad to learn of his passing. This was more of a 3 star place for me, but because the coffee was so good, rounded up to 4 stars. Plus I loved the wall mural!

Jenna W.

Yelp
I love the sausage biscuits so much. My favorite is the super jack. They're delicious, filling, and the biscuits are never too dry, for the same price or less than an unsatisfying Starbucks sandwich. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but I appreciate they always offer a few different roast levels of drip coffee. If you want something sweet, I recommend the hazelnut praline latte. It can get sort of crazy on weekends, but there's usually seating available regardless.

Yelp
This spot is so cute! I'd never been, but a friend talked me into it so we went mid morning on a Saturday. The place was bustling! But they kept up on orders and moving through the line without making people feel rushed. I just got a coffee, but the food looked delicious as well. They have lots of seating, both small intimate corners and large tables. I will say, I've never seen so many people come in and out over the course of a few hours. It's popular, and for a reason!

Angie O.

Yelp
Walked in here while waiting for my car while it's in the shop. What a great spot! Friendly service, strong coffee, breakfast sandwiches with a veggie meat option, smoothies, and a great atmosphere including some outdoor seating. Could be good for a small group meetup, too!

Sean G.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot in Beaverton! Been around for a while and there's a reason - because this place slaps! Hard to miss from their menu as it's all so good!!

Lorna G.

Yelp
Amazing place! I'm actually devastated they're closing. Nothing can replace them. Great food, amazing coffee, cozy atmosphere. No place like it.

Connie C.

Yelp
A legend among Oregon coffee houses. Have lots of coffee and breakfast choices. I loved the biscuits and gravy bowl with one egg and bacon. I wish the ambiance was bit cozier, throw in a couch or so. The bathroom has a coded lock, I wonder if the neighborhood got rougher?

Rachel K.

Yelp
We stopped into Jim & Patty's Coffee for a morning coffee and quick breakfast. The menu has a great list of options, including seasonal options and smoothies. They also have a lot of food options available. I decided to order their Ultimate Pumpkin Latte and one of their Pig Newtons. Both were delicious and great together. We also got one of their cookies, which was great and my friends really enjoyed their drinks and food as well. As a really cute touch they include a candy with each of their drinks and customize it to the drink order. They have plenty of seating and free Wi-Fi available. We also loved the chalk art, murals and photos everywhere. It's definitely a great place to check in with friends, go on a coffee date or just get some work done.

Helen V.

Yelp
Ordered skinny latte. Who adds sugar to a skinny latte? Guess I'll stick to the coffee carts.

Tierra H.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to try something new so we stepped outside or comfort zone and traveled to Beaverton. The ambiance is a bit dated but everyone was welcoming. I am all about customer service which they were not lacking. The food was just okay. We ordered to breakfast sandwiches on wheat bread and they just needed some help. The cheese was not melted, bacon was not hot but the jam was good (I love a good strawberry jam!). Not sure if I will go back for the food but I would go back for the customer service.

Kim G.

Yelp
Decent coffee and espresso drinks, all the regular options plus some very unique that others don't typically offer. Habanero Mocha, Black Tiger Mocha, Girl Power (soy & honey) and a Soviet Mocha (made with sour cream) to name a few. When I stop here it's for the Habanero Mocha as I love the heat with a touch of cinnamon. If you get here early they have a varied selection of pastries - scones, coffee cake, muffins and cookies to name a few. I prefer their breakfast sandwiches and appreciate that they are willing to scramble the egg for me as it's the only way I can eat an egg - no visible whites as I don't like the taste or texture. They have many varieties of bread and I go with whatever is the heartiest with grains. There is seating on both sides of the register. There is a ccomfy, quirky vibe with brightly painted walls, lots of people parked at seats and working. I'm familiar with Jim & Patty's as I used to frequent the NE Fremont location when I lived in NE. The Beaverton location isn't a place I choose as a destination but if I want a coffee after getting my nails done next door, and don't want a Starbucks, I stop in.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Cute store, the pastries I got were very good and great price for what you get. Huge selection of hot chocolate for the non coffee people. I am a sweet coffee person and find most lattes to lack the flavor they claim to be but the one here was fantastic

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I tried the Tiger milkshake for the first time today and boy was it delicious. It has chocolate covered coffee beans blended into it, what I call a time release caffeine shake. I also love the great variety of breakfast items. Today I tried the "Pigster" bowl, which is the hipster bowl but with a pig newton cut up covered in sausage gravy topped with an egg and bacon. A pig newton is a cheddar biscuit wrapped around sausage links. They have a few choices including a veggie option. They do sell out fast so the earlier in the day you arrive, the better chances you have to get what you want. The biscuits are very hearty and filling and also have a few different choices. My son doesn't eat meat , so he ordered a breakfast sandwich with veggie sausage, goat cheese, egg and caramelized onions on grain bread. He thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely order again. The ordering process was quite lengthy but once ordered the food came out timely. We love all the different choices for drink options and food choices, there is something for everyone.

Yelp
Wow!!!! Amazing little spot with amazing coffee, breakfast options and tons of baked goods!!! Located inside a strip mall so can be difficult to find but if you know ....U know!!! Definitely a must try for coffee or amazing breakfast goodies!!! Sadly though if your ordering on the fly you will be there a while, everything cooked fresh to order!!!

Yuli L.

Yelp
The very first time I came here, I came with with a friend who was crazy about coffee. "They have really fine foam here" she told me. So I ordered a cappuccino and was hooked. What I like about Jim & Patty's is that it's not pretentious. It doesn't have modern whimsical decor or fancy Instagram-worthy drinks. What they have is a large seating area with games & music and solid drink selections. At times, the food line gets really back logged. Today the wait for food was 40 minutes! Thank goodness it doesn't happen too often. There's nothing worse than a caffeine high on an empty stomach lol! Overall, I have enjoyed Jim & Patty's for years and I'm happy to see it has continued to attract customers throughout the years. I only wish they'd open another location in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area so it's not so crowded on Saturday mornings.

Brian H.

Yelp
The best of the best. Great for people that need GF food and pastries. The friggin Fremont is 10/10

Krista Lou ..

Yelp
A mom and pop cafe done well! Not too large of a menu yet has what about anyone would want. Lots of coffee choices. There's a homey feel slightly dimmed light side and a bright I'm just stoping in for a quick meal side. Had great customer service.

Tracy F.

Yelp
I used to love Jim & Patty's. They had the best coffee (especially the caramel fudge mocha). The coffee now tastes like dish water. Weak, with little taste. I have come back 3-4 times in the last few months (I am sitting here now as I write this). And the coofee is getting worse. I take NO pleasure in writing that. I used to take my out of town visitors & friends to Jim & Patty's all the time! And everyone enjoyed the great coffee. But as said, in the last year or so, the coffee is bland. I don't know what happened. The staff is friendly. It's just the really bad coffees. This saddens me, because I really try to support local coffee places.

Laura M.

Yelp
I don't order the food so not sure about that. I use to go there a few times a month for the coffee screamer shake. The price on my shake went up $2 on the large....almost $10!!!I think they got bought out. It downsized again and it's just not the same. Atmosphere not the same!

Sue L.

Yelp
Awesome customer service. Used Door Dash to order the White Chocolate Mocha and latte. Asked for pumpkin spice latte on the special instructions since it was not on the online menu. The PSL is so good. The New York Coffee Cake is the best in town.

Clare Q.

Yelp
Coffee and food are delicious and the space is faultless, but this location has issues with its staff. It has happened enough times and with different employees that I feel the "duty to warn". However, those breakfast sandwiches make me willing to put up with more than the normal amount of bs. Take it with a grain of salt!

William C.

Yelp
Looking for an afternoon pick me up and stopped into this gem in Beaverton. Jim & Patty's takes me back many years when I found out coffee can be so much more than a drip. I cut my teeth on Portland artisan coffee with a Velvet Hammer at Coffee People and, decades later, it still has the same great taste. This coffee house is a fantastic place to hangout with friends over a good...and I mean great...cup of artisan coffee. Bright and cheery inside with creative artwork that is a great hideaway from the wet, cold Oregon weather. If the coffee or the warm sammies don't warm you up, then take a walk around the room and view the nostalgic photos of Jim & Patty, their family, friends and places they love so much. This will be sure to warm your soul. Staff is awesome. Went out of their way to guide me through the old & new menu items. The baristas made you feel like you were walking into their home. This will sure to be a stop for me whenever I am in the neighborhood.

Jodi M.

Yelp
Updating my prior review. This place is local and warm and inviting. Why go to Starbucks across the street? I enjoyed a Lorraine breakfast Sammy today and smooth cup of medium roast coffee.

Chels O.

Yelp
Four stars because I was a loyal Coffee People lover... other than that - three stars. The good - the coffee is delicious. The dark roast is smooth and not acidic. Their peanut butter mocha is made with real peanut butter although it is quite sweet. I suppose that is to be expected! The food is great, and I don't mean that in a light fare food type of way. They offer several types of biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits are cut up, slightly stiff day-old biscuits. Gravy has ground pepper kernels in it, so it doesn't lack in flavor or bite. I always order the hipster bowl which comes with an over easy egg and one slice of bacon on biscuits and gravy. That dish cannot be beat. The bad The people behind the counter act like they don't want to be there (I get it - it's work!), but cmon man it makes me feel like i am not welcome there. On several occasions there has been crumbs and dirt and debris all over the mat floor like it hasn't been swept or vacuumed in days. One day, an employee made my latte way too hot to drink, and it scalded the roof of my mouth. I was a barista for 13+ years, and that was not within standard milk range. Rather than remake the drink, she just emptied part of it out and replaced with cold milk. Overall I'm not impressed with the staff, and it makes me sad that this company was once a pinnacle of Portland coffee.

Cindy C.

Yelp
I saw pictures of the Hipster Bowl and that's what lured me in. Biscuit, gravy, bacon, and an over easy egg in a bowl - breakfast heaven! It was delicious! Since we visited close to the pandemic, there weren't too many people, but still busy despite. Lots of good-looking pastries. I really enjoyed how fun and colorful the interior is. I look forward to visiting again, if only just to order the Hipster Bowl once more.

Alisha C.

Yelp
I have tried to like this place because it's a pretty nice environment and the menu looks cool but it's pretty overrated. I enjoyed my hazelnut praline latte with oat milk but my breakfast sandwich was not tasty. I had it in the cafe, not togo. I got the number 4 veggie sausage, tomato, and egg (no cheese) on sourdough. The sausage tastes like real meat which I know some enjoy but I had to take it off, also it was not a patty which would be better on a sandwich. Basic sourdough sliced bread. I added some sriracha and salt to the egg to try to make it better, it did not help. I don't like to give bad reviews unless I really feel like the place could use some improvement, which it can and I would come back if so. Vegans/dairy free do not enter (if you want food).

Melinda R.

Yelp
The staff are amazing, so many choices for coffees, teas and latte. I love the variety of pastries. I had drip coffee and my husband had a white chocolate mocha. We loved it so much we were back the next day!

Laurie B.

Yelp
Classic Portland now in the burbs- pleasant surprise. Same great food and coffees/espresso drinks and same friendly, family feel.

Natasha K.

Yelp
Covid Update 11/23: open for take out!! Curbside delivery as well for food after its ordered This place is super cute! I can't wait to visit post COVID so that I can take advantage of the seating area and board games available to customers. The shop was well staffed and line was moving very quickly. I had never been here before but the staff was very friendly and welcoming with their suggestions. I ended up getting a Moka and a half order of the biscuits and gravy. It looks like they have quite a few food options so I'm excited to come by and try a few more dishes. However, the biscuits and gravy were really tasty. Whole chunks of sausage in the gravy and the biscuits were fluffy. The half portion was a great size and was plenty to fill me up. The coffee I felt was a little weak so I probably would get another shot the next time but overall, great experience!

Deirdre O.

Yelp
I normally don't give bad reviews but this is my exception. We went this morning for breakfast and we waited for 2 hours. They forgot about our bagel sandwiches and when we asked they said they forgot about them and no longer had the bagels we ordered. They did give us a refund. They offered to give us biscuit sandwiches instead but when we got them they were exploded. See below. As someone who wants to own a restaurant, I now know what not to do.

Hailey H.

Yelp
There's great coffee and great food. Always great service, too! We like to bring out of town visitors here.

Kristy O.

Yelp
Loved the medium roast coffee and the newtons! We tried the veggie and original Newtons and both were delicious, they are like home made hot pockets. Our soutwestern veggie scramble was great too, had tons of jalapeños and came out of the kitchen piping hot. yum. I need to go back to try some of the pastries, they all looked amazing.

Smith Q. J.

Yelp
Food and (Oreo Mint) milkshake were delicious and I love the schtick of how the hipster staff pretends to hate their life, job, and all customers, all of the time. Very believable. Highly recommend.

Darren O.

Yelp
So this is in my top 4 or 5 comfort food breakfast places around. My other favorites are Malosi in Hillsboro, Pine St Biscuits and The Meating Place - Jim and Patty's is definitely as good. I had the Freight train literally way to much to eat. A whole order biscuits and gravy, bacon, ham, and 2 eggs. I ate about half - my wife and daughter were happy nibble on the rest. The biscuit sandwich was excellent, maybe just a little to much bread, but was great. My wife loved the scramble, she liked adding some of the gravy to it. The muffin was the bomb. One of the best I've had around here. Coffee was excellent.

Dave K.

Yelp
Had my car worked on and stopped in for a nosh. Their dark roast brew hit the spot. Counter help was friendly and efficient. The scramble was tasty if a touch small for the price, but that's inflation.

Patrick E.

Yelp
Stopped in to Jim & Patty's for coffee and their Biscuits and Gravy. The staff and service was friendly and prompt. Our full order of B&G came out hot and tasty, they breakdown their biscuit into bite size pieces which was different but actually works well. Our Cafe au Lait and Mocha coffee drinks were spot on. We need to make a point of dropping by J&P more often.

Myrna S.

Yelp
Always love stopping by Jim and Patty's. The coffee is really good, and if you get there early you have a lot of incredibly delicious, freshly baked breakfast pastries, coffee cakes, sweet and savory, choices to pick from. Sadly I was a little late in the day to have an abundant selection to pick from, but I was able to get my veggie newton (a delicious herby, cheesy sort of pig in a blanket breakfast treat) so everything was right with the world.

Cindy A.

Yelp
There are currently three locations of Jim and Pattys coffee shops. If they ever make it out to Tanasbourne/Hillsboro, I will gladly get rid of my gold card from that mega chain coffee house. Jim and Pattys serves really good coffee drinks in addition to smoothies, shakes, tea drinks, breakfast sandwiches and bakery items. Everything here is top quality. The iced mocha I enjoyed here today was yummy! The employees I've dealt with at this location have all been pleasant and helpful. There is lots of indoor seating available and a couple outdoor tables. This location is close to the Beaverton max station and definitely worth visiting before continuing on your journey. Highly recommend Jim and Pattys.

Sharon D.

Yelp
Good food (made fresh in house! Pig newtons are too good), good people, good coffee, good atmosphere. It doesn't get much better than this. The Friggin Fremont latte is a special treat for the taste buds.

Kevin W.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop that serves breakfast. This place has a private lot so the parking is plentiful. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. This place is much better than Starbucks. It has a down to earth feel and chic feeling. The wifi is on point. I ordered the Spicy pig newton and the classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Spicy pig newton is two link sausages baked into a croissant with pepper jack cheese and jalapenos. The classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich comes with some very thick bread. They have containers of honey and simple liquid sugar you can use on the sandwiches.

Jessica P.

Yelp
I visited Jim & Patty's for a Meetup group event. The menu has plenty of unusual items to try, with a variety of hot drinks, frozen drinks, sweet and savory food options. They have a small display case of pre-made goodies right next to the register too. I selected a Pig Newton (sausage-stuffed savory pastry) because they looked so good in the display case and it was every bit as good as I hoped. Flavors and textures were spot-on and it was fresh and hot. The atmosphere is bright and friendly, with seating out in the center that is great for groups and also tables along the walls where people were sitting with books (and coffee of course). I am very happy to discover this place!

Pat M.

Yelp
I love this place I worked at coffee people back in 1999. I love the black tiger shake but now suddenly there's no more large shake come on guys bring back the large Shake. Zero reason not to make more money

Patrick D.

Yelp
Jim&Patty's is always a great place for a quick stop and really good coffee. Well, except at the Beaverton location. With the exception of its first couple of years being open, I can't recall having a positive experience there. And I went there plenty, hoping they'd redeem themselves. They never did for me. So while I would definitely recommend Jim & Patty's wherever they're local to you, if you're in Beaverton, take the extra 10 minutes to drive to a Portland spot to get your brew.

Makenzie Y.

Yelp
I loved Jim & Patty's! A friend recommended and took me, my husband and two friends there and we all loved it! It's a really large place with multiple seating areas: couches, big tables, small tables, etc. I loved the coffee I got and their treats they have are good too! If I am in the area again, I will be stopping by!

Vic P.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill. With every visit the food is worse and worse. We ordered the #5 scrambled over red potatoes and it was brought out with no potatoes. As well as #5 on a biscuit without cow dairy cheese (due to allergy) they brought it with cheddar cheese. We threw away the food and walked out. It looked like zero effort was put into making it, as though it was just thrown together. I hope the owners are aware of how terrible the cooks are and how much the quality has declined. The place also needs a thorough cleaning, especially the bathrooms. Very disappointing.

Dianna B.

Yelp
What a great little coffee shop. My friend, who was acting as my tour guide, took me to his favorite coffee shop. Jim & Patty's was pretty amazing. The coffee was Delicious. They were busy! The seats were all filled with butts and the conversations were lively. My friend has been coming here for years, and I can see why, They have a pretty extensive menu and their coffee, RED TIGER is damned good. I was gifted with a 1lb bag of beans which they ground for me to my liking. I can't wait to try it out here at home. I had their Hot Caramel Mocha Latte and my friend had their espresso shake, All i can say is the shake packed a real kick with those beans through out and my coffee was decadent all the way back on the drive to Eugene. I wish we had this place in Florida.

Aparna B.

Yelp
This is a great biscuit/coffeeshop in our neighborhood. We have gone her several times (both before COVID-19 and during the pandemic) and have always enjoyed our time here. They have a great space inside and a good takeout system as well. Being from Texas originally, we are always on the lookout for scrumptious biscuits and this place does it great. We have tried several of their biscuit sandwiches (Sweet Lorraine, Memphis, Southwestern) and we have never been disappointed. Also, with their coffees, they give you a chocolate covered espresso bean which is a great accompaniment to any drink.
