This is the second time I have visited this location, ordered online and it was wrong. I will say after my first visit, the owner reached out and sent me a gift card which is why I returned tonight. My southern burger was wrong the first time as it was missing the American cheese, bbq sauce and the onion ring and it had onions. You select all the options as you order so I’m confused how so many of these were missing. They remade it and still put pickles on it. The amount of chips they gave me with the queso was sad and my baked potato had no sour cream to go with it. I also got no cheddar biscuits!!! All in all I would not return just because I hate confrontation and asking for my food to be made correctly. As someone who has been in the restaurant business previously, making orders to the customers expectations was always what I strived for and is what I always expected from my staff. The food overall is good but the service and experience is not!!

I'm usually pretty critical with BBQ restaurants since I can hold my own with my personal backyard versions. But it's definitely nice to have another restaurant for us West Cobbers who enjoy having others doing the "heavy lifting" on the cooking and cleanup chores occasionally. So, I was not too pleased at first with the ordering procedure - where you stand in line to place your order at the counter and then find a place to sit. But it went fast and this process could have an advantage for busy folks - you don't have to wait for your check since you pay when you order. The food was good, my pulled pork sandwich and my wife's BBQ chicken sandwich were stuffed with meat so that that it was difficult to hold it all together - but that's a good thing. A minor critique on the pulled pork - a little more smokiness would be nice. But overall, the food was good. Onion rings were also good. And the complimentary muffins are always a nice start.

This is a good place it's new to The Avenues and seems to be a huge success the food really taste good sometimes it's crowded and it's a little interesting how they have you line up to get your food some what chaotic and may not be for everyone but overall a very good experience and we will go back. The outside dining is nice as well. We really enjoyed our food and we'll certainly have others go with us there.

Glad I stopped in for lunch as I discovered one of the best turkey sandwiches I've had in awhile! I sat at the bar which had a good selection of beer and cocktails. Th bartender, Daniel, recommended the white sauce with my sandwich it and it was perfect! Very open layout and great patio seating. Looking forward to visiting again to try more food!

The place looks nice and clean and is great for families' lunch. The food was OK. Next time, I will order a full-size salad instead of fries. I sat outside and did much interaction with staff.

We've been visiting this location regularly since it first opened and have consistently had a fantastic experience. Unlike the old spot on 41, which felt dark and lacked energy, this place stands out with its vibrant atmosphere, plenty of outdoor seating, excellent food, and exceptional service. Edwin, in particular, always goes above and beyond to make us feel like family, ensuring we're well taken care of every time we come by.

We've been waiting for Jim 'N Nick's to open in the old Chili's location. It opened on Wednesday and we decided to give it a try, this evening. As expected there was a large crowd. That's expected for a new restaurant and on a Friday night. But even while waiting, there were hostesses available to answer questions and the wait was efficient and the staff was welcoming. The quick-moving line, helpful hostesses, and friendly team set the tone for a positive visit. We chose—catfish and the Pulled Chicken BBQ Sandwich. They hit the mark, and the fresh sides and addictive cheese muffins really elevate the experience. The fact that there were no hiccups, especially in a brand-new restaurant, speaks volumes about their preparation and attention to detail. I have to recognize that every person that was working the restaurant was kind and attentive. They really took things to the next level. I look forward to trying some of the specialty cocktails, once the liquor license kicks in. Jim 'N Nick’s West Cobb is off to a great start. I can easily see making this a regular spot.

Google
If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering BBQ, look no further than Jim 'N Nick's BBQ! Now, let’s talk about the food. The BBQ here is next level. The smoked meats are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The pulled pork is melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the brisket has just the right amount of smoke and tenderness. Don’t even get me started on the sides—every one of them is fantastic. The mac and cheese is creamy, the baked beans are full of flavor, and the cornbread is absolutely delicious. I honestly can’t recommend Jim 'N Nick's BBQ enough. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go and your taste buds will thank you!

Yelp
Food was sooooo hot & fresh! This brisket was really good. I also had Mac n cheese (I usually don't eat this but the gentleman recommended it)10/10z But these cheese biscuits stole the rest of the show So hot and warm & good! Everyone was so professional & kind and they all were smiling! I'm a sucker for a smiling face!!!! It was calm & I sat tucked away in the booth. It's clean I love it! Thank you!

Yelp
Being a fan of Jim 'N Nick's for years, it was great to see them recently open a new spot in the Avenue West Cobb on Dallas Highway! Visiting a friend in Acworth, we decided to make our down to grab lunch at the newly opened spot. The space is gorgeous and laid out well. Upon entry you are guided directly to the counter to order. To the left is the bar area with a few booths, to the right is the drink station and larger, more formal dining area. Then outside is a large, wrap around, covered, heated/cooled patio...and while I am normally not a patio person during summer months, those misting fans made it a perfect spot to enjoy the goods! Service was great from ordering to food runners to random staff checking in, one of which was the Manager. Everyone was friendly and helpful from entry to exit. Food was solid, nothing mind-blowing, but it was just what we ordered. I got a combo plate of turkey and cheddar-jalapeno sausage, because I can not come here and not get at least one link! The complimentary cheddar biscuits are a nice touch and always a great compliment to the food. There is a small portion of parking that is convenient and semi-dedicated to the restaurant, but it fills up quick with folks hitting the outlets. Either way, there is plentiful parking around the complex in full. Overall, Jim 'N Nick's is a solid spot and I enjoyed this location! Happy to come back when visiting the area again!

Yelp
Exterior Located in the very front / left of the Avenues shopping plaza - they are easy to find (former Chili's location). Lots of parking but they have been super busy so dependent upon day / time, you might struggle to find a super close, nearby parking space. Interior Clean. There's a bar upfront and they have those huge windows that swing up and out that a lot of barbecue restaurants are now using. Honestly, I don't find these windows practical because it makes it difficult to eat and keep flies off your food. In fact, I was only able to eat one my little mini corn muffins because a fly landed on the other one while I was eating the first one. And I know, I know ... multiple flies probably landed on muffin #1 well before it made it to my table - but just like I tell my brother, it's one thing if I don't KNOW what craziness happened to my food before it made to my table ... but if I see it - ARGH - I just can't do it - it's an appetite killer. Customer Service Ok ... so ... customer service was NOT great. You order with a cashier, then a team of food runners bring your food to your table. The cashier (young white male - did not get his name) was on his cell phone when I approached and he kept glancing at his phone while I was attempting to ask him questions / place my order. I arrived around 4 / 430pm on a weekday. I thought I was gonna beat the crowds / dinner rush. During my ordering process, I was the only person in line, but the parking lot was full and the place was pretty busy. Once I placed my order, I had questions about other items (I was contemplating ordering a rib plate for J) and pretty much every question I asked was met with a "I don't know. Do you want me to try to find out?" Um. Yes. I would LOVE for you to try to get an answer to the question I asked. More on this below. Price / Value Sadly ... also have to say I wasn't bowled over by my food. I ordered Mr. Jim's Combo plate - 2 meats and 2 sides. I opted for brisket, chicken, collard greens and french fries. I went with fries because wasn't thrilled about the side options (they call them trimmings). The mac n cheese is the 'creamy' aka soupy / Velveeta style mac n cheese and I prefer the firmer, casserole style. I don't eat potato salad or baked beans and I can't have corn, so aside from greens, my only options were french fries or coleslaw. Lol. My fries arrived to the table cold. My brisket was room temp and a tough. My collard greens were just slightly above room temp and bland. My chicken was a combination of white and dark meat. I don't love the taste of dark meat, and had no idea (menu doesn't say and cashier didn't ask my preference. When I managed to snag one of the food runners to inquire, they said they didn't know whether or not I could request white meat only. A manager came over and he said I could, but that I should have indicated this preference during ordering process. I apologized and explained that I didn't know. He took it away and had another portion of white meat only sent out. He also replaced my cold fries with an order of coleslaw. During our conversation, he expressed surprise when I told him I'd never dined at a barbecue restaurant that didn't have an option of lean or fatty - when it comes to brisket. (I asked because I admit I was convinced that the cashier had informed me incorrectly during the ordering process. Lol.) While I don't love barbecue sauce per se, I absolutely love smoked and grilled foods - so I typically eat at barbecue restaurants 1 - 2 times per month (if I'm lucky) and I'm not exaggerating when I say I have NEVER encountered a restaurant that ONLY has lean as an option. The manager who eventually came over to my table was rushed, clearly a little overwhelmed, but polite and did his best to take care of me. He even offered to get another order of greens but since I'd decided to just box everything up and leave, I declined and heated them up later. Overall Overall, I enjoyed the white meat pulled chicken. I know they don't microwave anything - and that's great - but I definitely think they have some growing pains / bugs to work out over the next few months. Staff should be better trained on menu / offerings and they'll figure out how to get food to the tables at appropriate temps. I will check back in 6 months - or more to see if things go better.

Yelp
Stopped by Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q the other day around 5:45 PM for dinner. Right off the bat, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which set a good tone. This location operates as an "order at the counter and seat yourself" setup--but with a twist. We were told we couldn't sit down until our full party had arrived, which felt a bit restrictive, especially since there were plenty of open tables both indoor and out. The biggest disappointment of the visit: they were completely out of ribs and coleslaw --and this was before 6 PM! For a BBQ place, running out of one of your staple meats that early in the evening is pretty surprising and definitely put a damper on the experience. We ended up trying a few other items. The pulled pork sandwich was flavorful, but the portion was on the small side. Each meal comes with their signature cheesy bread, which was a nice touch, and you can order more on the side if you want (you probably will). The fried catfish was a pleasant surprise--crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly greasy. The Mac and cheese made for a great side dish. Overall, it's a decent spot with friendly service, but in a city with tons of great BBQ options, it's tough to stand out--especially when you're out of ribs by dinner time.

Yelp
This place just opened a month and it is always busy! We finally went tonight for dinner. We had a party of seven, and the staff helped us get a table with special attention to my elderly mother-in-law. I appreciated the staff's helpfulness and friendliness. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. I got a quarter chicken which was very moist and tasty. My husband said his pulled pork and baked beans were very good. I will say I wasn't a fan of their barbecue sauce, but that's a personal thing. I did think the prices were a little high and the place is loud making it hard to hear normal conversation. But all around, we had a good dinner and an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
We are in town visiting relatives. They told us about this great new BBQ place that just opened around the corner from them. We went for a late lunch. We walked in and the restaurant is really nice. It's got a nice decor with a lot of photos that looks like a history of Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q. You walk up to the counter to order your food and then you go take your seat to wait for your meal. I ordered the 3 meat combo meal. I paid an upcharge for the brisket and another upcharge for spareribs. My third choice was the jalapeño cheddar sausage. I really don't care for spareribs so I asked if I could get baby backs instead, the guy taking my order said he didn't know why but I couldn't swap the two ribs. As sides I got the beans and coleslaw. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and she got one side which was the mac and cheese. When we sat down, the wait staff brought us some really good cheese corn muffins. When our food arrived, it was presented very nicely. First my wife's meal. She loved the mac and cheese. She also really liked the pulled pork. I tasted it and it was nice and tender with a nice smokey taste. As for my meal. The brisket, I wasn't thinking when I ordered I was asked if I wanted either lean or moist brisket. I got the lean. First, I had to wipe the bbq sauce off the meat. I typically don't like sauce on my bbq meats. If it's cooked right you don't need sauce on it. This is just my opinion. Because I got the lean brisket, it was cut very thin and it needed to be because it was dry. This explains why they sauce it right from the kitchen. The taste of the brisket was good but the next time I would get the moist meat. The spareribs were good, but again these were a little dry also. Now for the jalapeño cheddar sausage. This is a different story. This sausage was absolutely amazing! It was cooked perfectly. It was juicy with a nice amount of heat from the jalapeños and a really nice amount of cheese. I highly recommend the sausage. For my sides, you either like coleslaw or you don't. This was a more vinegar type coleslaw, but it was very good. The baked beans, these were just canned beans with maybe a little extra onion added and maybe a little bbq sauce added. They were just ok. As for their sauces, the regular house sauce was very weak and tasted like ketchup. Not very good. I also tried the Honey Habanero sauce and the Carolina Mustard sauce. Both of these were good. Again, this is my opinion on the sauce. I don't like sauce on my bbq, I just wanted to try them for the sake of my review. Jim 'N Nick's is worth stopping in and trying. I would definitely stop back for the sausage and to try the baby backs.

Yelp
First time visiting this location. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and brightly lit. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Great meal.

Pete M.

Yelp
Great place for barbecue. I always get the takeout. A half a pound of pulled pork is only 10 bucks and it's enough for me and my wife with some leftover.

Yelp
The food was great! The service was top notch! They couldn't have made it any better! They seem to Really be trying hard.

Yelp
The service is exceptional and the food is always good. We really enjoy the salads with pork, chicken or turkey on top. The cornbread muffins are delicious!

Yelp
Don't order the Southern Salad with Smoked Chicken unless you really like that smoky flavor and fake bacon. Barely edible. We also got the Pork Plate, which from all accounts, my dining partner said was very good. The bill was $60 including tip for a meal that was not worth that price. But one shouldn't expect much when you order a salad at a barbecue restaurant. On a lighter note, the staff was very friendly, although not very versed as of yet on what the menu contains but the restaurant just opened so one must give them a break. The best thing about this whole experience is that they will have a full bar starting on January 6 that should give anyone looking for relief from ordering the wrong food or bad food. A cocktail will help ease the pain.

David H.

Yelp
Brisket sandwich 9/10- actually some of the best. Mac and cheese 7/10- hit the spot but nothing stood out about it Not so nekkid 0/10- whoever was cooking potato's tonight, bless their heart. Paid $4 for an uncooked potato I'll come back but never ordering a potato again

Yelp
Food...very good. Service immediate. Family ambiance...calm and peaceful. Happy faces and Friendly smiles.

Yelp
Service terrible. After waiting for our food at the table, realized it was not coming out as fast as the others. They checked on our food and was told that it was accidentally deleted. After bringing the food out, no apologies. Geez teenagers with no common sense or manners. Chain level food with poor servers with attitudes

Yelp
I've been a Dave Poe's fan for many years. They're just a little too far for me to drive however. So I was happy when we got a BBQ restaurant in West Cobb. They went big. They set up in the high-priced Avenues on Dallas Hwy. I've seen restaurants come and go by putting their best foot forward with a ridiculously good staff just to see that staff move on to other new stores and leave mediocrity in their wake. That doesn't look like the case with Jim 'N Nick's. The menu is so solid. I started with the basics, coleslaw, corn on the cob and ribs. Oh, and I threw in a few deviled eggs. I ate at the bar and Kayla (she's adorable) served me a couple of John Dalys. I was in heaven. I'm so happy to have an honest BBQ out here in West Cobb. I should have taken pictures. They have a large variety of sauces. I'm a fan of the Carolina vinegar style, but they pretty much cover the bases. Tell me another BBQ restaurant that has corn on the cob. It seems rare these days, but theirs is the absolute best. Kudos!

Yelp
The online menu listed "ribs". Once we got there to pick them up, there was a sign-"baby backs available until they are gone". The ribs we got were tough and fatty. Also got chopped brisket, listed as "lean" which was also fatty. They must have some good stuff, because they were jammed. But I didn't get any of it.

Aubrey P.

Yelp
Great food. Fast service. The ribs and brisket are my favorite. They have a drive thru too!

Gayle Z.

Yelp
Absolutely ridiculous menu process. All meat plates come with 2 sides, which I can't eat on my diet, however they can't substitute for a $4.99 order of deviled eggs? The individual sides are way more expensive each. For $58 in food for 2 people they could make it work. How stupid!!

Joseph A.

Yelp
Very poor service. Wait staff was very rude. Food quality is very inconsistent. Do not recommend

J S.

Yelp
This location was a disappointment. The walk-up ordering just doesn't work well for this type of restaurant. The cashier rudely told us that they were completely out of chicken and pork at 7:00 on a Sunday. Seems strange, but seems to be the norm according to another reviewer of this location. Our food took much longer than it normally takes at the locations with servers taking orders at the table too. The whole setup just isn't the best -- the famous cheddar biscuits that are usually brought to the table before you ever order were absent until we asked for them. We'll just have to stick with the Hiram location, despite the fact that we definitely prefer West Cobb area to Hiram.

Michelle L.

Yelp
I am so disappointed with this location. They recently opened in December 2024 and started off strong in a great location. As of late they have been running out of major food items by 5pm almost every day and it's always chicken it seems. We went there last Thursday night around 6pm and they had run out of chicken, brisket and turkey! What in the world???? It's so unfortunate as they are located in a great area and get tons of business. Either hire a new manager that knows how to do inventory correctly or start closing at 3pm everyday since it seems your ire not able to keep food in stock. We have started making the drive to the Hiram, GA location which seems to know what they're doing. No complaints there.

Lori S.

Yelp
I have one huge complaint...counter service. I pretty much boycott any restaurant that only offers counter service, I have a counter at home and I'm the service so when I go out I do not prefer that. The food was good but I will use the drive thru if I feel like bbq and save myself the cost of alcohol and eat it at home. Please don't make 20% the standard on your receipt because if I have to wait in line to order my food, get my own water and go up for a second beer I will give you 15% at best. Pretty sure this is the new model they are using moving forward and it makes it feel a tiny step up from fast food, I don't spend $70 on fast food for 2 people but I did here. I sound like a brat but this is not how I chose to spend my money and want people to know before they show up that this is what you can expect.

Greg D.

Yelp
Great food, clean environment and super friendly team service. This location is an excellent representation of Jim N Nicks

Amanda O.

Yelp
We've been able to visit this new location twice, and both times the customer service has really been great. It's usually crowded when we visit, but the food comes out quickly and tables turn fast. The vibe is always family friendly. The food has been great both times too! We hope this location continues to thrive so we have another great dinner option here in West Cobb!

Rudy U.

Yelp
We ate on opening day. The bbq pork was great. My wife had a baked potato with brisket on it. Not only was it huge, it was good. Great service and great food. Just what we needed in the neighborhood.

Jarrett B.

Yelp
Great food. Great taste. Always makes a mistake when ordering pickup. Left off 2 orders of fries and a Mac and cheese. Watched person glove up and go through the order, confirm it and hand it to me.

Dan O.

Yelp
Weird hybrid between counter service and table service. The worst of both worlds. Make sure your order is right when you get it because you're on your own after that.

Steve J.

Yelp
Food was delicious! The loaded baked potatoes are huge! Our first visit and will be back!
