Jimmy's Brooklyn Pizza

Man, for a neighborhood pizza joint. This place was absolutely incredible. The pizza was so good. Our favorite was the chicken tikka pizza, but we also tried the pepperoni, the pesto, the Margarita, and the Jamaican beef patties and everything was just awesome. Definitely go here if you're around Grove Street.

Best marg and veggie slices I’ve ever had. Cheese slice was standard like other places. The Hawaiian slice was ok, they just tossed pineapple pieces on after rather than melted in with the cheese during heating. Highly recommend marg slice and veggie slice!!

Better than almost any pizza in New York. The dough was good, and had more texture than your average NY Pizza that’s usually just paper thin. The sauce was well seasoned. It was full of flavor, and it tasted very good. The toppings were freshly prepared, and in the right amounts. Not too much, not too little. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I’m a professional chef and baker who makes my own pizza, and it’s almost impossible to beat. That being said, I’m difficult to impress. So 4 stars is really saying something good. A great, hearty, flavorful pizza. Check it out! Try their Sausage & Pepperoni.

I love this store!!!! Their Brooklyn style margarita pizza is awesome deliciousss!!!! They also add some pesto sauce on the pizza!! Definitely recommended!!

In Jersey city, NJ - the center of the pizza universe-it's amazing this place can even stay open. Quite possibly the third worst pizza I've ever tasted. Dough is bland and tough. Cheese taste like the crap my great aunt used to get from the government, and the sauce is like waters down tomato juice with loads of salt... No way....Basiles is right around the corner and might be the best in the world...

They have the best sandwiches. The pizza, there is no competition. Hands down the best pizza and sandwiches. Their chopped cheese is delicious and their southern fried chicken sandwich with the sauce is amazing.They also have a variety of desserts also. They carry the famous Junior’s cheesecake which just melts in your mouth.The owner Jimmy and chef Hollywood take care of every customer that walks into there place. Phenomenal customer service. I wish I can give this place 10 stars.

I’ve given this place multiple tries in hopes that I’ve just been unlucky the few times the order came out bad but sadly i think the food here just isn’t worth it anymore. The pizza taste old and stale the few times I tried a slice, the worst thing was the hot dog that was completely burnt to the point where it felt like I bit into a rock. The fries that were suppose to come with the burger were clearly some old scraps left over n thrown in. Too pricy for such bad quality food.

Stayed in the area and had the chance to try pizza both at Jimmy's and the other place a few doors down. This place is superior in many ways: 1. Much more toppings 2. Better flavor 3. They actually speak to you Really enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza and the chicken tikka pizza. Both were $5 each. Also got an order of garlic knots (4 pieces) to share. Very happy with it. They have two tables inside but one was right by the door they had propped open so it was cold from the breeze. They accept credit cards.

Amongst the handful of pizza places along Newark Ave -- thought that this place has a pretty good slice. Dough was crispy on the outside but chewy inside. Sauce is a bit sweeter than I usually like but not fatal to this review --just a matter of taste. This place is also slightly cheaper (2 and change) than places on Newark itself (3.95+) There is a discount if you pay in cash.

Needed a late night snack after dinner didn't fully hit the spot and Jimmy's was open and ready on ubereats. Ordered two cheese slices and a meat lovers slice. The cheese slices were legit! Big ol slices with a nice crust and good portion of cheese to sauce ratio. That meat lovers one? Nope. It was a Sicilian style pizza but what got me was how small the slice was and I'm about 95% sure it had cut up hot dogs on it. Not my fav but if I'm in the area and need a cheese slice I'll hit up Jimmy's.

Ordered a 16inch pepperoni pizza that was 28 dollars. They delivered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of buffalo chicken pizza. Driver walked in and out of the lobby before I could catch him. Texted the driver and called the store several times but no response. Luckily I ordered through the slice app and they gave me a full refund or I would've been stuck paying 40 dollars for two slices of pizza. Seems sort of shady to me. Pizza was meh.

If Brooklyn is in Nebraska, then this is legit! Good service, nice selection in the window and the place appeared to be clean. The plain slice was just very weak. Fresh out of the oven but no better than a box you can put in YOUR oven at home. Floppy, sloppy and a waste of calories.

Today I went to Jimmy's Brooklyn Pizza at 305 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ. I visited a few times previously and then revisited it today. I had a most amazing tasty two slices of pizza there. The shop is small and quaint, but the selection of regular and Sicilian pizza is lovely. I was in the mood for pizza and was happy to have stopped by. Manager Hamada is upbeat and pleasant and the price of pizza is less expensive than neighboring pizzerias. I recommend that you give Jimmy's Brooklyn Pizza a try.

I wish I could leave negative stars!!!! I'm not the type of person to leave a review, but this experience with the restaurant and OWNER-- I've never experienced anything like it. My husband called in to order a small pizza and chicken parmesan with pasta alla vodka. The phone got passed around one or two times because no one could understand? When he gets to the restaurant 30 minutes later, no one had even started the order and he needs to reorder. The restaurant was empty. He waits around for 15 minutes just to get home and find no pasta sauce on our pasta and they gave us an XL pizza. The food was also inedible too... honestly. Pizza was extremely oily and the cheese was curdled. The pineapples taste like they came from a can. Chicken parm tasted like chicken tenders and was in 4 separate parts? I call the restaurant upset about the whole experience and terrible food/experience thus far. At the same time, my husband and I get separate texts from an employee at the restaurant about our Uber being on the way??? They obviously had the wrong number(s) and no clue what they were doing. I'm about to take the food back to the restaurant.... when the owner calls me.... I tell the owner, Jimmy, what happened and he gets disgruntled with me that they don't have small pizzas (okay, well someone could've mentioned that, fine) and that If I looked on the website... I recommended that staff did not speak great English and that the whole experience has been terrible because they couldn't get the order right over the phone AND in-person. The owner starts raising his voice and cutting me off and then has the audacity to say I'm racist?! When little does he know I'm 100% CUBAN!!!!! It was disgusting that he was sitting on the phone arguing with me at all. I told him I didn't know why he was giving me attitude, then when he started yelling, I just hung up on him. This restaurant not only has TERRIBLE FOOD, NO CLUE what they're doing, but is ALSO VERY POORLY managed. No accountability from the owner or customer service.

Really wanted to like this pizza but it qas pretty disappointing. Half pepperoni half plain. The dough was the bad kind of chewy, overall very greasy and salty. felt like really eating fast food... maybe good for a slice but def not for a delivered pizza.

Overall good sandwich too expensive. So I called in my order because slice charged an additional $1 for a "service fee", and it made my original chicken gyro than $13. But this was not the sandwich I expected. It was good, but it was $15... without fries even though online and on slice it says it came with fries. I found it quite odd that it rung up differently, and it wasn't huge (beer can for reference) Would maybe try again, but am hesitant.

Ordering via Yelp was easy, delivery came in a decent amount of time but that was the only positive a I can provide. The gyro sandwich my wife ordered seemed like it was 4 weeks old. The meat wasn't very quality and had a lot of fat still on it. The slices of pizza were cold and hard? Granted it was cold outside and the delivery person was on bike but they shouldn't have been as hard as they were. This is the one time I agreed with my kids who are picky eaters. I ordered plain chicken wings and they were overcooked and crunchy. Worst food experience, not worth the price.

Cheesesteak Gyro, straight heat Owner's recommendation, not on the menu, ask for it. Toppings include steak, gyro meat, peppers, oinions, lettuce and tomatoes. Hella cheesy. Very good!

Decent pizza, quick delivery. Calzone was okay, if the sauce was inside of it it would have been much better... it came with a tiny side of marinara for the size of the calzone...(big!). Not the best but wasn't bad.

Asked for mayo on our sub, no mayo, ordered thru grub hub they kept changing our delivery time, waited over 1hr and 25min. for food, they left the bag at front desk of our hotel, no text message, no email, no ticket on the bag telling me it was delivered or ready for pick up! Food was very cold and disgusting the Alfredo had a hand full of parsley thrown on top, yuck

Amazing pizza!! I stopped by because I was in the area. I'm so glad I did!! I can't wait to come back here again and try more of their pizza!! I had the Asian Veggie pizza and it was so good!!! I loved it!

Some of the best in JC! We love getting the margarita pizza. The crust is perfection and the cheese is as cheesy as can be. Be sure to try a few different slices and styles to figure out what you like best. Also, say hi to our guy Chef Hollywood when you're there! The second you walk in, you're family. Best pizza place in Jersey City for sure!

My sister walked by this place a few days ago and noticed it just opened so we decided to give it a try last night. We learned their pizza uses all fresh & halal ingredients, meaning no pork even in their pepperoni! Their pizza changes daily since they only use fresh ingredients, so some days they have their signature Dominican pizza with plantains on it! If the plantains aren't up to standard then they won't sell it, which I was happy to learn. The owner was really great at explaining everything and was very thankful for our business. And as for the pizza - probably the yummiest and crispiest Sicilian I've ever had! Not soggy at all and it tasted so fresh despite us going an hour before closing. Best buffalo chicken slice I've had in a while. It was $4 a slice which I'm okay paying for a thick Sicilian with good ingredients. He even cut them in half so it was easier to eat. We went in for a second round of slices because the first round was too good. So glad this place opened up in downtown!

Ordered here twice and both times seriously disappointed. The pie is bland and absolutely nothing special at all - cheese congeals, the crust flops, and the sauce is sparse at best. Don't get me started on the gyro, looks like someone threw some old, dry/hard previously frozen gyro meat on top of a few soggy pieces of lettuce and a wet pita and called it a day. Here's a pic of that sad looking excuse for a gyro. Never again.

What a joke of a pizza place. This is how they delivered the pizza....you can't see it in the photo but there was also spit on it. These people have no care in their work. Never ordering here again.

Leaving a one, because I can't give less than one star. The food was cold, and you can see the condition of my pizza once it was delivered. Plus the flavor of the food...for New York...subpar.

I saw this spot on Yelp and figured to give it a try. It had good ratings but wanted to find out if it was the real deal. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the mark. I ordered the bbq chicken slice and chicken bacon ranch slice. Both weren't good. The chicken bacon rach had no ranch on it. The bbq slice literally was one a plain cheese slice with bbq sauce and chicken on top. It seemed like they put the toppings on after you order it and then just heat it up. I also ordered a plain cheese square pie and it was just ok. The cheese was stuck to the box so that wasn't too appealing. The pizza wasn't bad but it lacked any bold flavors. The garlic knots were also nothing to write home about. They didnt have a lot of garlic flavor and were very doughy. I wouldn't order from here again since there are a few better pizza spots that are my go-to. I wish them luck!

First time here snd I could already tell it won't be my last . The vibes and service were top notch Both Moses and Kristen provided great hospitality. The menu is full of so many competing options - I was torn between so many options. I did settle with an order of meatballs snd the arugula w/ prosciutto flatbreads. Great choices - the meatballs were packed with flavor and the flatbread was crispy ! Will return , call me a regular please lol

Had a slice of the Buffalo ranch pizza. It was ok, could use some more mozzarella and definitely not the best pizza I've had. For $7 a slice I was expecting a thick Sicilian style that was substantial, that was not the case.

Solid option in Jersey city. Tiny place that has about two tables to eat at. Ended up getting a half pepperoni half plan pie. They made it fresh; took about 25 minutes. Can soda only $1 a piece.

I love Jimmy's his pizzas are so good. Small store front with a couple of tables. Nice selection of pizzas by the slice. None will disappoint you!

These fusion halal slices are so delicious!!! We got a chicken Tikka slice, Desi slice, and Asian veggie. highly recommend on top of the margarita slice and chicken parm which was so satisfying and juicy. This hits the spot!

Got a couple of slices on a whim the other night and it was so good that I went back the next night! Highly recommend the buffalo chicken and chicken tikka. I'd give anything to be eating a slice right now. Their crust is perfection! Light but crispy. The flavors are outstanding, the chicken tikka has the right amount of heat that hits you while you're eating and the buffalo chicken is the best combo of hot sauce and ranch. Customer service was phenomenal, can't recommend this place enough, now if it was just a tad closer. I'd be writing this while inhaling a slice!

Pizza was amazing and the employees made my night when picking it up. Nothing better than supporting a business with kind and happy employees. I tasted the TLC in my Chicken Tikka pizza!

You need this pizza!! I traveled from Paraippany to try this place. The pizza lives up to the hype. Absolutely delish. I tried the Buffalo chicken pizza, chicken tikka pizza, and chimmy burger pizza. They were all delicious. The crust is perfectly crunchy and still soft on the inside. The toppings are expertly paired to have the most satisfying flavor. This was my second time trying and I will definitely be back for more.

Just had a large pizza and salad with chicken delivered and it was completely inedible! The tZatziki smelled spoiled and the pizza was cold even though it's 5 minutes away. We literally threw the whole pie away after spending $40 for a pizza And a salad with grilled chicken. Tried to call and got no answer.

Ordered chicken tenders, wings and fries. The only decent thing were the wings. The fries were cold and soggy. I could deal with soggy but cold. No. We were starving tho so it served its purpose.

I found Jimmy's on Yelp this afternoon and thought I would give it a try. All and all disappointing. They don't deliver and instead of over paying in fees to have Uber eats bring it, I decided why not go grab it since it's a 6 min drive. I got there at the agreed upon time and when I walked in the pizza was ready and getting cold and they forgot to make the order of wings so I waited while they threw them in the fryer. Got home to cold pizza and the worst wings ever!! The Buffalo wings are rubbery, undercooked, and fatty. Bottom line this place is overpriced and can't deliver on a very basic order of pizza and wings.. A large pie and order of 12 wings was $40 I wouldn't mind paying that if the food was good but they have a lot of room to improve!

This place WAS one of our favorite pizza places in Jersey City. We've ordered from here so many times and spent a lot of money here. $$$$ One of our favorites is the fried pizza dough pizza until today. We ordered Fried pizza dough pizza with pepperoni. And as you can see from the picture. It was not good. OVER COOKED AND NO Pepperoni! I called to voice my complaint and to have the correct pizza delivered, and I was told that they didn't have any drivers available. So after my wife and I paid a combined delivery fee and tip of $14.90, I offered to walk over myself to return the "pizza" and pick up the correctly made fresh pizza. They waited for me to bring the old incorrect pie back before they started to make a new one. Needless to say, the only difference between the new and the incorrectly made pie was that it had pepperoni on it, and the crust wasn't burnt. The dough was still supper thin, and nothing like it used to be. In the end, we paid $60.00 for me to walk the old pizza back, deliver my own, and for it to be a complete disappointment. Sorry, Jimmy. Your pizza is not what it once was. You lost us for good.

I've ordered twice from here. The good: Pizzas are quite flavorful. I liked their spicy sausage as well as the chimi churri slice. The so-so: Although they have a good selection of unique pizzas and slices, when it comes to making your own pizza, they are very limited with the toppings. The pizza can sometimes taste extra (and I mean extra) greasy. The bad: Delivery took ages, so the pizza was super cold by the time we got it. I had to put it in the oven for a few minutes. Final Verdict: Will think twice about ordering based in the delivery time.

Trying to figure out why our pizza was delivered in 16 slices while looking like it came from 2 different sized pizzas (?!). Personally, I don't like my pizza fondled but I really don't have an explanation for this one today . Was part of the pizza returned and they were reusing it? Were these slices leftover from different pizzas where they tried to cut each in half so we wouldn't notice? So many questions... Also, the garlic knots that came were super stale.

This place is wack AF. They started out good, and then something happened. When they first opened I got the linguini with clams, it was amazing. My wife got a gyro, it came with fries, all around good value for both dishes. I ordered the linguini again a few months later, and got chicken lol, called the restaurant and they apologized, said they were out of clams.. cool, I get it. But ask me if I want chicken to replace the clams, I would have declined the dry a$$ chicken. 2 months ago while working from home we ordered lunch, they are super close hence the reason trying again, ordered the gyro and A Lamb kebab on a skewer with vegetables which is what a kebab is... Got home lol lol it was just burnt gyro meat over lettuce.... And they must have run out of Tzatziki sauce because we both got some kind of watered down blue cheese dressing Man did we have a good laugh. This last one is on me, fool me 50 times I keep going back lol I ordered a gyro got home no fries. Fine I don't need all that... Dudes they put CILANTRO on my gyro Lmfao Cilantro hahahahaha I get parsley but CILANTRO. I know they look similar but damn they do not smell the same at all. This place has such potential, but they need to hire a new kitchen staff. Lord help me, I'll probably order from here again later, just for the laughs.

I'll give it 3.5. Not the best pizza but was not bad by any means, a great late night snack. The Sicilian has good texture, we tried a meat lovers and the Buffalo chicken - buff chicken was the favorite there. Also had a slice of margherita which was pretty good.

This place doesn't even cook their pizza through. Absolutely awful. Worst part is I had this pizza a few months prior and I thought it was VERY GOOD. major disappointment.

I'm so done with this place. The food is overpriced and the quality is inconsistent (I've had some pretty stale pizza from here), and they keep messing up my order! Ordered chicken gyros, which are supposed to come with fries. No fries came with the order. Contacted the restaurant. They apologized and said they'd see what they could do, put me on hold, and after a minute of waiting I was disconnected. Tried calling back multiple times, but nobody answered. Contacted Grubhub and they tried calling, but again no answer. Eventually, Grubhub reimbursed me for one of the sandwiches. I've ordered here a number of times and there's almost always an issue. This place seems totally mismanaged.

Ordered a plain cheese pizza late at night since it was the only place I could find open and man was it amazing ! Mind you I order the pizza for me since no one else in my party wanted any and once they tried a piece my pizza was gone ! It's a little cheesier than other pizzas but that's what made it so good ! Loved it!

Decided to check out this new neighborhood pizza place on my walk home from the path. The staff was so friendly and helped me make the right selection. I went for the chicken tikka slice, which was spicy and chicken was flavorful and delicious. I loved the crispy bottom of the pizza and look forward to trying the other options of slices!!

They only get two stars because the last time we ordered was good but I can't even believe what we were served today. The buffalo chicken pizza we good was a margarita pizza topped with pepperoni and chicken. We didn't get the ranch with our wings. My gyro was missing it's french fries. Lastly, worst of all, my nutella pizza was made on TOP OF a cheese pizza?????? I know this isn't normal at all. So disappointed.

The pastas I ordered came too late and were cold by the time it got here. The flavor was quite bland in the Chicken parmigiana, spaghetti overcooked. The bread was a little stale and certainly not enough. Maybe I should've ordered pizza next time?

Just picked some random place that delivered. Was not expecting how great this pizza was. Damn. Wow.

I thought this place looked really good when it first opened. Fortunately, I live within walking distance and decided to give it a try one evening. First of all, the customer service is great -- the store owner, Hollywood (sp?), gave me an introduction of all the pizzas that he served that evening and got the ones that he highly recommended. My wife and I were really impressed with the innovative flavors and the quality of their pizzas. The crust was crispy/crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, it was the perfect combination. Hollywood's customer service was top notch -- super friendly and helpful. To top it off, he also offered me a complimentary slice on the house, and I couldn't be happier. Please check them out!

I had higher expectations from their pizzas after reading some of the excellent reviews. I tried their buffalo chicken ranch, regular cheese and chicken tikka pizza. The pizzas were quite filling, with generous toppings, but the taste didn't really do it for me. There's a bunch of other restaurants with better pizzas in my opinion.

My new favorite pizza place! Delivery was quick, the grilled chicken salad was very well made and a good size potion for the cost, and the chicken tikka pizza slice was super delicious as usual! They offer hallal, which in my opinion is one of the healthier kinds of meats. They are open late late night, I believe until 3 am, and the hostess who works nights is SUCH a ray of sunshine -- the kind of person who makes your day just by having a chat. The first time I was walking by and stopped outside (debating if I could afford to add pizza slice calories ) she waved to me and I went in-- and the experience was totally worth the calories LOL. In sum, this place is awesome!
