Cozy vibe and great coffee Jimmy’s Coffee in Kensington Market is a perfect little spot to recharge while exploring the area. The coffee is smooth and tasty, the vibe is relaxed, and the decor has character. A great stop for a quick break or to soak in the local atmosphere.

Delicious coffee. Large patio. Such a nice place to chit chat in the middle of Kensington!

Loved the coffee here. It’s a local gourmet chain with great coffee quality. This location has also a spacious backyard and a very cool laid-back vibe. I had the iced americano coffee and I also tried their ‘Sea Salt Chocolate Chip’ and the vegan chocolate chip and they were all delicious. I highly recommend it!

If you're looking for a great coffee shop with a spacious backyard patio, Jimmy's Coffee is the place for you. The coffee is good, and there's plenty of seating both inside and out. Jimmy's is the perfect place to relax with a book or catch up with friends. I've been going to Jimmy's for years, and it's always been my go-to spot for coffee. The staff is friendly and the coffee is consistently delicious. I highly recommend giving Jimmy's a try - you won't be disappointed!

As an official coffee snob I review a lot of coffee shops and drink a lot of coffee. This place pulls off that cafe vibe most places can only immitate. Fantastic customer service (give this girl a raise), and a perfectly pulled shot that only happens with a trained Barrista

Lucais Shepherd (LUCAIS CORP. BROKERAGE)

Google
Tasty coffee and a washroom downstairs for patrons. Kensington Market is a drug district after dark and is kinda sketchy at night so not for all types…as the washroom here well shows where many patrons are at. Quiet back patio for that afternoon coffee break rest. Bakery up the street (Black____? something..?) also has treats to go with your coffee.

The Urban Gazelle

A bright spot in a grimy area (Kensington Market). Baristas are pretty friendly. Spacious patio in the back. I like their scones and loaves.

Yelp
Drink Quality: 3.5/5 Drink Selection: 3.5/5 Pastry Quality: N/A Pastry Selection: 3.2/5 Price: 5/5 Ambiance: 3.3/5 Service: 3.0/5 Cleanliness: 3.5/5 Location: 3.0/5 A cold brew coffee costs just $3 (tax included) as part of a temporary summer promotion--great value for a drink of solid quality. The location is a bit of a mixed bag: while convenient in some ways, it lacks standout appeal. Pastry options are quite limited, though having a Krispy Kreme next door helps make up for it. Service is functional but impersonal--efficient but not warm. The ambiance is average, offering plenty of seating for solo work or casual meetups, but with minimal character or creativity in the design.

Yelp
Jimmy's coffee was a cute coffee shop located in Kensington Market. We stopped as part of a tour. The muffins and coffee were tasty. The Jimmy theme is unique. Each coffee they sell is named after a different Jimmy. They offered indoor and outdoor seating. Jimmy's is easily accessible and in the middle of Kensington Market.

Yelp
Ordered: 16oz Jimmy's Very Own (JVO) (~CAD$5): vanilla latte with caramel drizzle Aya's take: If you're looking for a warm, soothing, and balanced coffee - this is it! The bitterness of the coffee, the flavors of the vanilla mixed with caramel, and the creaminess made this into a delicious caffeine kick I needed to start my day. I also really liked the cup designs, and something about the yellow lids were super elegant. Plenty of seating at this location. Definitely a good spot to chill, catch up with a friend, or do some work/reading.

Yelp
Five stars all the way. My coworker and I were on the hunt for a coffee shop close by after the original one we went to didn't end up having working wifi (of course after we already got a coffee and croissant, grrrr). We found Jimmy's on Yelp and headed straight there. The moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile and assured that their wifi was on and working. Feeling relieved, we ordered a drink and found a spot to sit in the seating area towards the back. I went with a classic vanilla latte but with oat milk, iced! While I had already tossed back a coffee that morning, the second one hit the spot for sure. They have a bathroom in the basement that requires a key to get to and a nice little patio in the very back. This was a great spot to work out of for a few hours. I loved the cozy feel, the bookshelf, and the awesome barista.

Yelp
Great spot for working/ studying from. Came here with a colleague to get some coffee & wifi! We were nicely greeted by the staff with a friendly smile that reassured us that the wifi was strong and working (it was indeed!). Got a iced vanilla soy latte which was great. Water was available on tap that you were able to get yourself if needed. The atmosphere is what won me over - there were a lot of other people around who were also working away on their laptops during the weekday. It's was quiet in the morning when we arrived and stayed that way up until around noon. Interior was beautiful with a lot of shelving and decor of books. They also have a back patio that was quite large - also great for working out of. The added bonus here is the location. Lots of cute restaurants around in Kensington Market that you can dine from during lunch.

Yelp
it's ok but they don't accept cash and so I will never come back to this establishment

Yelp
Awful customer service. If you want a lecture from your baristas about accidentally picking up the wrong order, come here. Too many wonderful coffee shops around to support this snobby place.

Yelp
This is a cute little coffeeshop in the heart of Kensington market. It is open from 7:30am-6pm daily. It has a variety of coffee types as well as bakeries. Atmosphere us quite pleasant and cozy.

Yelp
Meet up spot for my food tour, but I was early and hung out here in Jimmy's for a bit. It's a popular spot in the vicinity of Kensington Market and so there was a bit of a queue. Eight or so people took about five minutes to get their orders in, which wasn't too bad. Seating inside and outside, but I think there was smoking in the back area. Inside, an eclectic collection of tables and chairs. I caught a seat that had a power outlet nearby while I waited for my coffee. The single espresso was rich and definitely worthy of a caffeine boost. Served in a ceramic cup with enough room for a small daub of cream. Wifi worked well. [Review 11008 overall, 781 of 2019.]

Yelp
Very friendly baristas and a scrumptious iced chai latte! Beautifully decorated (especially all of the photos of famous men named jim). Overall great experience, will definitely go back!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stumbled into this place on an early Sunday morning around 9AM. The other cafes nearby either a) were not open yet or b) had terrible service when we inquired about looking at their menus so into Jimmy's we went! What surprised me here is that half of the place is outside! There's a nice patio type of outdoor space that you can enjoy your drinks/baked goods in while still maintaining an excellent coffee shop theme. I thought the outdoor space genuinely made this a beautiful store overall. In addition to that, the service provided by the cashier and the drink-maker was excellent. They had just run out of the coldbrew coffee which my boyfriend ordered so they offered up some alternative suggestions and then immediately went and amended the menu on the wall to display as such as well! My only gripe with this place was that I had ordered a pretty simple drink, a matcha latte.... [MATCHA LATTE] $4.20 - I ordered a large to sip on in the outdoor area and my goodness, this was one of the most bitter things I have ever tasted. I'm not sure if I ordered it incorrectly. I ordered it as a triple which could have meant they used three times the amount of matcha that you're supposed to use but for the life of me, I could not figure out why it tasted like this. Realistically, I probably should have told someone that I didn't enjoy my drink but Jimmy's is not a restaurant, and as such, I don't feel as though they would need to take my drink back and make me a different one. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this drink if you don't enjoy tasting every single bitter feeling you've ever had in your entire life. Their green onion and cheddar scones looked delicious so perhaps I'll be back to try that given the positives to this place!

Yelp
the cashier is so rude, his treat sucks. coffee and cookies are good, just ignore the stupid man

Yelp
Coffee is great. The place is decorated with many comfortable seatings and workspace. I especially love the shaded backyard patio with water fountain, tree, plants, power outlets for work. Love the vibe there.

Yelp
We visited the store in Kensington Market and it was extremely busy when we visited. We weren't able to get a seat so we ended up just ordering drinks and using the restroom for a while. The drinks weren't particularly special, but it gave us a chance to recoup.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for awhile. So I thought it's about time I wrote this review. This spot in Kensington has incredible outdoor seating in the summer. Wish i could sit there in winter but alas I'll value the warm indoors until spring. This place does get busy. Finding a seat some days can be a real pain. I think they could re tool the seating a bit to make that a little easier. Regardless, it's a comfortable space to work. Plenty of hipster coffee selection as well as Jimmy's merch if you're an ultra fan. I've not had a bad coffee here. Consistent espresso. My favourite afternoon snack has been one of two things: a butter tart or a unicorn poop cookie (delicious sugar cookie action).

Yelp
Kept seeing this around Toronto. Stopped for an iced latte. Cost as much as Starbucks and is pretty tasty! However....they don't fill the cup with coffee and according a local-they never do with the iced lattes! But why Jimmy? Why? Basically go to Starbucks for your iced lattes but you can apparently buy hot coffees here.

Yelp
3.5 stars... very cool spot to chill on a sunny day This Jimmy's location was such a pleasant surprise. With most spots in Kensington, you're expect smaller or cramped spaces with not a lot of light. Imagine my surprise to walk in and spot a large outdoor patio in the back! Jimmy's is a local coffee brand that has a few spots around Toronto. I would say that out of all the spots I've tried in Kensington, the atmosphere here is definitely a plus. It's chill and relaxed with a lot of varying spaces to sit and enjoy a cup. On a Sunday morning, there was a decent amount of the lap top horde sitting and taking up an entire table. Since they had their patio open, it doubles the sitting space and the back patio is just wonderful. It's clean and has a lot of shaded parts in addition to tables just baking in the sun. The coffee served here is fairly consistent to the other spots I've tried around Toronto. It's solid and above average... they do have seasonal offerings. It seems they were starting to do their cold brew offering. Summer is coming! I stuck to my favourite flat white to determine the flavour of the beans and see if I like it a lot. Service here was quicker than their Ossington spot as they had 3 people behind the counter working the cash or pulling the shots. I think their prices are very fair as well. You won't feel gouged when you pay. You do have to pay extra for things like Almond milk but I think it was only $0.50 extra. So very reasonable. Flat White - This was not a real flat white as the drink is definitely sweetened or had some sort of syrup added. This was a bit of a surprise. I also noticed that the foam was overfrothed and the actual drink itself was not very hot. Aside from these details, I found the drink fairly enjoyable for a flavoured coffee drink. The coffee taste wasn't so bold but it wasn't acidic either... though hard to tell with it being sweetened. I wouldnt think this is the best cup in Kensington but if it's the price to pay to sit in a nice back patio, it would be worth it. 3/5 Overall, the space in the summer is a great spot to be in if you just want to chill in Kensington for a while. I can imagine this getting really full of people once June hits. Hopefully if I come back, I can still snag a seat.

Yelp
Hip space located in the centre of Kensington Market. Excellent selection of baked goods, juices, drinks and coffees to choose from. Staff is approachable and organized despite the usually long lineups. On a good day, head to the back of the store and find a seat on their outdoor patio. Its a great vibe, and an oasis in Kensington market. The walls contain artwork featuring all the great Jimmy's. (Hendricks and Morrison) and an old Vespa with blown out tires makes for a European mood when you enter. Coffees are reasonably priced.

Yelp
My friend and I went for Dim Sum in Chinatown so was in the area. I wanted my caffeine fix along with something sweet so we wandered around Kensington. As it was January 1st, most if not all shops were closed; however, Jimmy's Coffee was open! It's quite clean for a shop in Kensington; JC also has character so the decor is not like your cookie cutter chain coffee shop. As you enter, you can check out unique JC products including beanies, coffee makers, and coffee beans named after famous Jimmy's (Hoffa, Hendrix, Dean). If you want something more than coffee, they also serve Pluck teas and various baked goods. I enjoyed a chocolate + espresso scone, which was pretty amazing. The latte I ordered was quite good as well; it was a one shot latte that managed to be strong. Lastly, the service was excellent. If I had to work on New Year's, I'm certain that I would have been grumpy. Anyway, they were personable and friendly. Good for: coffee/tea, hang outs, studying

Yelp
Friendly and sweet guy working behind the counter. Excellent decaf Americano and a tea. Lots of tempting treats, some even gluten free and/or vegan. Some distanced tables inside and spacious patio out back.

Yelp
Nice coffee, I love their back patio. Coffee was awesome and the menu has a good selection. Would come back when in the area.

Yelp
Decided to go into Jimmy's Coffee during a visit on pedestrian Sunday. It was quite busy, the line didn't go out the door (sometimes it does) but I felt the line go by very slowly. That's not to blame on the staff because it wasn't their fault for busy business levels. Just a fair warning, going on weekends might mean long line ups! The drinks ordered was a purple haze ice tea and cold brew coffee. They made the purple haze sound very appealing so I decided to order that and try something new. It was quite disappointing, it was cold purple tea with one lemon slice in it. There wasn't much flavour and it costed around $4 for a small drink. I personally did not like it enough to finish the whole thing, it tasted like chai tea which was not how it was advertised. The cold brew was alright, it was average coffee pricing but I didn't think it was anything too special. Overall, I think I was quite disappointed by the purple haze iced tea. It sounded very special but turned out to be lack luster. I might consider returning to get a drink if I am in the area but I wouldn't really recommend going there as a "must try".

Yelp
I love this Jimmy's location in Kensington Market a lot more than the one at Portland. A lot for spacious both the interior and the patio area. Macchiato and Cortado both nicely made. I always enjoy the roast they use (Classic Gourmet Coffee), which is more bold and upfront. If you are a laptop user, you will be delighted to find quite a few electrical outlets along the fences in the back patio! A nice sunny afternoon, on the patio, sipping my coffee and writing my Yelp reviews...
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop catering primarily to tourists, from all appearances. Nice garden in the back, friendly staff, and a loo. What else could a family with a stroller infant ask for. Just the thing for strolling the market area.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly happy staff skilled at repartee and a nice space give this place a lively friendly vibe. This is a louder coffee shop with people chatting and laughing. Coffee is good! Nice selection of tea. Would I recommend: yes Would I return: yes

Yelp
Great location right in Kensington Market, which is definitely one of the best spots to visit in Toronto. The outdoor space is great for relaxing and enjoying a coffee break before heading back out into the hustle and bustle of the street.
google avatar

Yelp
Jimmy coffee is the greatest coffee . They make wonderful lattes. The service is exceptional, my boss and coworkers often take walks here to grab coffee. Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful little patio in the back which I haven't had the chance to chill out on but definitely plan on it ! Love everything about this place .
google avatar

Debbie P.

Yelp
JVO, aka Jimmy's Very Own ($5.10 for large) The infamous JVO is a vanilla bean latte with caramel drizzle. To be honest, it reminds me of Starbuck's iced caramel macchiato Cali style. It was really good though. Like it was said on their chalkboard, I would come back for it. Love the outdoor patio here!
google avatar

Liliana M.

Yelp
Strongly recommend the Purple Haze and the Goth Latte! Great customers service as well and a real chill environment. Take a look at the t-shirts they have for sale because they are pretty cool. Loved the Goth so much that we went back for a 2nd one later that day (to another just as great location).

Sally S.

Yelp
had a vanilla almond milk coffee. it was pretty good, almond milk is pretty hit or miss, this one was a bit more bitter (not bad at all though) the restaurant has fairly good seating for a cafe, all the tables were full though considering it's in the middle of kensington market. the service was awesome! the staff were super sweet and efficient, i only waited a couple minutes even though the cafe was filled with people.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, tea, and bakery offerings at reasonable prices in a non-pretentious atmosphere is what Jimmy's offers in a nutshell. After having tried a nearby Casa several times over the summer, it was time to try something different, especially now that the weather is cooling down. I appreciate that Jimmy's coffee shop has both ample comfortable indoor seating (albeit a bit dimly lit) as well as a lovely courtyard in the back for those who enjoy a bit of fresh air. I ordered a hot chocolate and my friends ordered a latte and a cappuccino. The barista did a great job of making my hot chocolate with coconut milk. My only wish was that they used dark chocolate as the flavour of my drink lacked the depth that I would prefer. My friends' coffees were beautifully presented with latte art, and they enjoyed the flavours of their drinks. We shared a ginger molasses cookie which was not too sweet and had the right amount of gingery kick. I love their selection of bakery items, including some that are gluten free. I also appreciate having the options for soy, almond , coconut, and lactose free milks. Looking forward to coming back to Jimmy's to try more of their delicious food and beverage offerings. Solid 3.5 stars.

Yelp
What a wonderful, relaxing, intimate little cafe! Located in the heart of Kensington Market, we dropped by for something warm to drink when we were in the area, and absolutely loved both the drink and the atmosphere. I ordered a small hot chocolate to try and it was perfect. It wasn't too sweet, very light, smooth, and the chocolate wasn't overpowering. It was a quality drink, and I will definitely be stopping by again when I'm in the area to actually try out their coffee. The atmosphere is very cozy. Lots of students parked with their laptops doing some work (it isn't a far walk from UofT's St. George campus - around 12 minutes away). Some people reading a book while sipping a drink. Others were huddled in small chats. It isn't very noisy, there's a decent amount of tables, and it's the kind of place you can sit in for awhile and feel absolutely comfortable. For my one hot chocolate, I paid a little over $3.00. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop! My bf and I came here to get a drink and kill time while we waited for a brunch spot to open. Definitely glad we chose Jimmy's coffee! The actual cafe is pretty cute. Good vibe and well kept. The baristas were verrrry nice and worked efficiently even when there was a long line. We got the London Fog, which I love! Usually places make it too sweet or too watery, but they made it just right. Would definitely come here again!

Samantha W.

Yelp
Cute coffee place. Coffee was fresh, tasted delicious. It wasn't bitter whatsoever. I got a banana bread that wasn't the greatest sight. It had a green tone but I'm assuming it's because of some vegan product they use in it. It was perfect with the coffee. Moist and banana-ey! Yum.

Yelp
"Jimmy!!! It's called Jimmy's Coffee! We HAVE to go!" *Goes in the store and begins to sell Jimmy's Coffee t-shirts and merchandise (I don't even work there)* That being said, I was definitely a tinyyy bit biased from the start. We were wandering around Kensington Market and almost ready to leave when we stumbled upon this charming little coffee shop. I was cold so I threw out my iced capp and went in for a cup of hot coffee. So Jimmy got us a double shot cappuccino from Jimmy's Coffee! :) I'm no coffee connoisseur, but my taste buds do recognize the taste of rich, smooth, and bright coffee. I love the huge bookcase on the side of the wall, especially that Coca-cola tin. I noticed that there was a backyard with outdoor seating at the back. Will definitely come back here in the summer to try their cold drinks. But as the first coffee shop I've been to in Toronto, I think I've started off the New Year on the right foot...with Jimmy.

Yelp
Tried Jimmy's for the first time recently and it did not disappoint! First and foremost, the location is *to die for*. Like, the inside is cute cozy mismatched furniture vibes and the outside is a vibrant patio with plants and murals. Definitely sit down if you can!! I had a gold brew, which was cold brew with turmeric, honey, ginger (I think) and milk. It sounded weird, but I figured they wouldn't make it if it wasn't good. Sure enough, it was really good. The turmeric and honey were a great compliment to the coffee flavour, and the cold brew definitely gave me a kick in the pants energy-wise. My friend got a chai latte and although it seemed to take a really long time to make, she was pleased to report it was a great latte with a strong chai flavour. Aside from all this, the service was super friendly. Stellar ambiance, punny signage, great drinks, food looks amazing: five stars.

Yelp
I'm mos def (and Talib Kweli) a fan of this spacious, solarium-like coffee shop. This is my new go to place to fuel up/warm my tootsies while shopping in Kensington. Attentive staff, sick brews, a decent tea list and lots of quick treats. The people clack clack clacking away on their keyboards make me feel at home, and there is ample seating. PEPPER POINTS for their cleanliness in the market. I'm not afraid of grime, but this place is so spic and span it should be noted.
google avatar

Irene T.

Yelp
I really like this place - it's has a huge sky light so lots of natural light can enter and a back patio for warm days. They have super cute decor throughout the cafe from old encyclopedias to random mismatched chairs here and there. Just felt so nice to sit and absorb everything around me and observe every detail in the cafe. Why the 4 stars then? I got the London fog and it left the taste of aspartame in my mouth. The first few sips of foam was heavenly until I got to the actual drink. Next time, I'll opt for a latte or coffee.
google avatar

Patricia T.

Yelp
Okay, this is the cutest coffee shop I've ever been to. When I first came in, I was trying to figure out if this was a tribute to a certain person, but no, it's a tribute to all the Jimmy's out there in the world. The interior is like a little library with some old desks. A lot of people were in there plugging away or outside enjoying the patio. I had a soy latte with an extra shot, which was perfect. Love their packaging and the service was great.
google avatar

Emilie-Anne C.

Yelp
jimmy's coffee is absolutely unreal. the espresso is god tier (sorry, i had to say his name is vain?). my go-to is an iced double shot oat latte. 10/10 recommend it. if you want a cozy coffee shop, pictures of men named jimmy or james, and coffee that hits, come to jimmys.
google avatar

Rainie L.

Yelp
I echo what the other reviewers have said. Charming space. Love the backyard patio. Friendly service. Love their latte. Love their americano. This is the kind of place you want to hang around in and not take out. Good selection of baked edibles to try out. SCONES! Yummy :P
google avatar

Arvid Y.

Yelp
Jimmy's is a coffee joint in the Kensington Market area. It's cozy but not cramped, which is particularly nice for the area of prime real estate. There are tons of other coffee options around, ie. Moonbean, but I think this might be my favorite spot in the area in terms of the ambiance. Wifi and electrical outlets available. I've ordered plain coffee in the past and it's good. The pricing is also pretty average. There's not really too much else I can say, I can't really speak about their "fancy" drinks. Definitely worth a visit for a cup of coffee in Kensington.
google avatar

Michelle J.

Yelp
Love JIMMYS COFFEE -Kensington market!!! The staff are so great!! Coffee- wow!!! Super delicious Americanos. They have a large variety of snacks and treats. Prefect pricing and a back patio that can't be beat!! An urban oasis. Ps the wifi is the best I've ever had!
google avatar

Crystal N.

Yelp
Cozy little spot. Not much room, but they have a shared wooden table on the second floor and a few small tables on the first floor. Lattes are solid with latte art . Barista are nice. Free water!! Which is an added benefit. Cute and a bit rustic decor. It's fairly quiet so great for studying or working! :)
google avatar

Maybelle L.

Yelp
Wonderful selection of teas and they are always very good. The cafe is open relatively late, though, and there are usually plenty of seats (or guests on their way out). That being said, the coffee gets watery at times, and much of the staff's bantering with customers gets lost on me. Maybe it's a personal chemistry thing, but I'll take my drink with minimal commentary and minimal snark, please.
google avatar

Chelsea S.

Yelp
The cleanest tasting coffee and espresso - even the take-home beans make a delicious cup regardless of brew method. Friendly staff - and I love that they donate leftover food at the end of the night.
google avatar

Faiza K.

Yelp
Cheerful and bright, moody and dark...all 4 rolled up into this quaint little place. There are a few tables in the back which lend to that cos feeling of having tea or coffee in a library of a mansion. Tall bookcases with books, eclectic decor items (old school typewriters etc) make you want to keep on ordering just to sit here a while longer. It appears there is a patio in the back, which of course in the winter is closed. It must be lovely to sit there in the summer so I must go back when the weather is warmer So after a long day of shopping in Kensington rest your feet and your mind in here!
google avatar

Yelp
My friend took me to Jimmy's Coffee today and we sat on the patio out back with a cold drink. This is a very hip coffee shop nestled in the heart of Kensington Market, serving hot and cold drinks, and some baked goods to go with it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are very friendly and cheerful. Don't miss out, put Jimmy's Coffee on your 'to try' list, stat!
