"A red sauce spot on the edge of town, Jimmy’s is the kind of place that was founded in the ’80s and hasn’t changed since. This past year, Paul McCartney stopped by when he was in town, with other visits from Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta, Danny DeVito, and Bruce Springsteen. Try to grab a seat at the bar and grab yourself some antipasti." - Celia Buckley, Melissa McCart

Had an awesome dinner at Jimmy’s Italian Restaurant in Neptune! The chicken parm was super tasty—crispy, tender, and the pasta it came with was fresh and flavorful. Tried the rice ball special too, and it was seriously good. Definitely recommend it if it’s on the menu. The house Cabernet hit the spot and went great with the meal. Overall, great vibe, good service, fresh bread! I’ll definitely be back!

A great disappointment. Supposed to be a great night out with friends but the food and service left much to be desired. Flavorless meatballs. Terrible lasagna(pictured). The server had to be reminded and pestered multiple times to get our group served correctly. Last straw is the price paid for food that could have come out of a box. Not again.

I recently went to Jimmy’s, after not having been there for many years, and EVERYTHING was INCREDIBLE!! It was actually even better than I remembered. The food was perfect and the sizes were impressive. The one thing that truly made my experience unforgettable was my waiter Noah. I cannot say enough good things about how attentive he was. He made sure that everything was perfect and I will surely ask for him next time I go back!!

I love Jimmy’s Italian and have been coming here for years. Old School Italian a bit pricy but, priced for value since the portions are large. I rarely can not finish my meal but I always take a portion of my meal home from Jimmy’s. They have home made desserts also. The only reason I didn’t give Jimmy’s 5 stars is because our waitress acted aloof like she was doing us a favor by serving us. Another waitress that was not serving us must of recognized this and was very helpful. Valet parking a nice touch also. I will be back!!!!!

Google
First time here and was told by my friend/local that this is a legendary neighborhood joint—old school style and ginormous portions. We sat in the dining room, but the bar had a nice setup too. Friendly and attentive service, good wine selection, and big menu + specials. It’s a fun place to go with a group, be merry, and eat a lot. Bring cash if you wanna save on credit card surcharge and to tip the valet.

Google
Great Anniversary dinner! We’ve been here several times but I finally remembered to leave a review. My husband reserved seats at the bar this time; I’ve always wanted to eat at the bar. You’ll understand if you visit for your first time. The bartender was so attentive. Talked sports with everyone at the bar, while tending to every ALMOST empty drink. Food is very Brooklyn. If you’re not from Brooklyn, think of your Nonna. We were comatose when we rolled out of there. Bread, sauce, meat, seafood are beyond “The best in the city”. Thank you for an amazing Anniversary experience! We had a blast! And a major kudos to the always respectful and attentive valet attendant; always a gentleman. We will keep recommending you, Jimmy’s!

Google
What a treat! We started off with the most polite and friendly server Noah and then had the most scrumptious meal and such a wonderful time. The weight staff was super attentive.

Google
An institution for a reason. Solid drinks, food and service. The rice balls were some of the best we've had in the tri-state area, serving them with red sauce and Alfredo was very unique. The calamari and clams casino were also delicious. Loved the family style salad and sauteed escarole. Great options, you can't go wrong!

Gwo-Long H.

Yelp
The restaurant setup was a bit awkward but it can certainly accommodate a big group. The staff was extremely friendly and professional and eager to help and accommodate. We had fried calamari, Zuppa di pesce, salmon with lemon sauce, and pistachio cake. All entrees came with salad. Portions of food were huge. The calamari came with regular and hot sauce. Zuppa was delicious but not special. It's in a not so great neighborhood

Yelp
I've been a patron of Jimmy's for many years. Today I ordered two entrees for take out and when I got home, I was surprised there was no salad in the bag. Their salad dressing is one of the main reasons we eat there so I was disappointed and called the restaurant. They informed me that dinner salads are no longer included with entrees. Our bill for two entrees was over $80. Very disappointed with this change. Otherwise the food was good.

Yelp
I've been here many times and thought I had reviewed it in the past. The bread was divine- crunchy on the outside, warm & soft on the inside. The sangria was ok. The eggplant rollatini was scrumptious. The mozzarella sticks were OK. The accompanying marinara sauce was wonderful. The lasagna didn't have enough sauce, but it as good nonetheless. It tasted like the inside of the ravioli was unseasoned, and the sauce did not taste as well as the marinara that accompanied the mozzarella sticks. The tiramisu was very good and authentic. The service was immaculate.

Yelp
First time here. Nice intimate ambiance of an old school Italian joint. Nice and cozy bar area with booths. There is a separate dining room. Parking lot attendant provides valet parking for tips. Although car smelled like cigarettes when we got in. Service was friendly and attentive. Menu prices are moderate to upscale. Jimmy's house salad ain't all that. They price it as for one. But can be shared although not extremely large. I believe at $14.95 for a so so basic salad is a stretch. Clams casino was just okay. They never excite me anyway. Entrees were tasty (large portion of broccoli rabe). Bread was good and tasty. Nice for a special Intimate evening.

Denise M.

Yelp
Old school Italian restaurant. Highly recommend the house salad and chicken parmigiana. Both excellent. If you like a thinner pizza, it's also is a good recommendation.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Always great food, excellent service and wonderful experience. And Diane is always supporting the Asbury Park community.

Yelp
Jimmy's is one of the best restaurants in the state of NJ. Food. Drinks. Service varies, sometimes good sometimes not so much. But the food can't be beat

Yelp
seating got seated 1 hour earlier than our reservation on a saturday night comfort packed so tight my chair was pushed up against the table behind me service very attentive and friendly waitstaff noise level loud. everyone was yelling to be heard bread and appetizers fantastic bread and the sampler plate and simple salad was very good dinner ordered ziti bolognese and it looked like supermarket boxed penne. there was so much pasta that it diluted the meat sauce. pasta did not taste fresh. excess volume felt showy. $300 for 4 people ‍

Yelp
Disappointing. Have gone there for years. Last night was actually terrible. Service was present but seemed very inexperienced. Salad came out with awful dressing tasted like canned fish. Stuffed artichoke was mushy and not good. Dishes came with almost a pound of pasta, didn't make sense. Scallops were bearable not delicious, not awful, just tolerable. Didn't have first 3 wines we selected, came out with higher priced alternative that we never heard of nor wanted. Overcharged the dinner $10.00 over menu price. Waiter adjusted the bill then added 3% service charge for American Express which was not disclosed anywhere on menu or in restaurant. Waiter kept forgetting requests. The lighting in back room was awful, now we had that awful blue light over the table in main dining room. After many years as a patron, was bad enough to say I'd never go back again.

Yelp
Is this the best Italian I've been to. . Not exactly but it's honest. It's old school , it's entertaining and it's most certainly a blast of the past. I love it From the colorful parking attendant, Artie, to the ever pleasant staff inside there is no shortage of hospitality The room is dated but in a charming comforting way. The booths lend for romantic side sitting and close conversations The menu is extensive, boasting many truly old school Italian dishes. We loved the clams oregano. The jimmy Caesar salad is like nothing else. The homemade dressing should be bottled! I asked for linguine with white clam sauce to be al dente. It was fairly firm. I wish it was a bit chewier but given the generous amount of clams , it was steaming hot, and it's extremely generous portion. The chicken scarpariello was shockingly delicious since I don't care for balsamic vinegar as much. Yet it pairs perfectly with generous chunks of tender chicken and the absolutely delicious sausage A side order of escarole adds a perfect accompaniment to this dish Finally, I rarely have desserts at restaurants but the bakery chef, Stefania, who is from the Naples area of Italy, prepared what I consider the finest pistachio layer cake I've ever tasted All this was paired with a beautiful bottle of Monsanto Chianti Classico riserva, which I found to be very fairly priced I'm glad I discovered this amazing gem that is known mostly by locals Most certainly I'll be back

Yelp
This was my first time dining at Jimmys and it did not disappoint. The service was great from the moment we arrived to valet our car to the end of our dinner. We loved the old school bar and the booths in the main dining room. The restaurant was busy but the noise level was not overwhelming. Which is a plus. Loved the ambience in the main dining room. The lighting inside the restaurant was perfect and the booths were very comfortable. The service was definitely on point. Never once did we have to ask for anything. The wait staff was amazing. Now for the food. First off, the complimentary bread was hot, crusty and fabulous! We started with fried calamari and it was so tender and tasty. Fried perfectly with small rings and the marinara dipping sauce was delicious! I had the pork chop with peppers, onions and potatoes was delicious! The pork was prepared perfectly had the best wine sauce. It also came with a house salad with a homemade caesar dressing that was incredible. My man had the Rigatoni bolognese which was very good as well. Pasta was cooked al dente and the meat sauce was superb. We did not save room for dessert because the portions were so enormous. lol. They also have a nice selection of wine. I choose the California cabernet which was perfect. I can't wait to dine here again. It was a fantastic dining experience from the moment we walked in until we left. Kudos to your staff Jimmys! They do a great job. Even the valet guys were great.

Yelp
Ok so its "old school" as some like to say, sit in the bar area if you still like to feel alive. Sitting anywhere else feels like the dining room in an assisted living place. Dark, bland, lifeless atmosphere with the worst choice of muzak playing(think ugly 70's james bond movie songs). So the food here is ok, definitely doable but not blow you away good as you would hope by the prices. Mess up of the evening , as i get to the bottom of my glass of coke, i notice its covered in ink, they used the glass to stand pens in and the entire INSIDE bottom was covered in ink! So i drank an inky coke, ok whatever, ill live, hopefully. So i tell the waitress and she looks at it and says oh we better get rid of this and takes it away- no im sorry this happened , let me get you another in a clean glass, even let me take that off the check, something, anything but ,no. My wife and i looked at each other like, really? Left me with the feeling of "this place sucks". So i overtipped anyway, karma and all, and left. So check your drinks before you drink them i guess. Doubt ill be back anytime soon. Plenty, and i mean plenty of better choices.

Yelp
Sat at Paul McCartney's late Father-In-Law Mike Shevell's booth (RIP)! Jimmy's team knows what they are doing. Takes me back... Delicious. If you are in Asbury Park stop in and ask to sit in Mike's booth! https://www.app.com/story/entertainment/music/2017/09/04/paul-mccartney-new-jersey-beatle-has-dinner-jimmys-asbury-park/631166001/

Yelp
Old school Italian restaurant and service. Food is always great, drinks are delicious as are appetizers! Valet driver is super kind!!

Cindy M.

Yelp
Last Monday we ate at Jimmys . Our waitress Tara was exceptional ! I told her at the beginning that I was vegetarian and she knew exactly what I could eat and gave great advice on what to order . The food was excellent and the desserts were fantastic! I had pistachio cake and my husband had strawberry cake . Both were as light as a feather ! The whole dining experience was wonderful but especially because of our wonderful waitress!!!

arlene F.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend who staying in the the area for the summer. He raved about the place and especially the pork chop. We did not order that. What we did order was the escarole soup.(tasteless, the beans and the escarole were hard and not cooked enough.) The veal and eggplant parm combo.( The eggplant was hard and crunchy the rest was average at best) A crab cake that was good. The service was very good. I will not be returning.

Jessica P.

Yelp
I had never been here and was attending a rehearsal dinner, and my friend's in-laws have been regulars their whole life. The valet driver was unquestionably rude and was yelling at me to get out of the car and handed me a playing card to park my car. I said "what is this" and he asked me if I was an idiot. I was in shock at the moment. I proceeded inside. I have health issues that make it difficult for me to eat, and was extremely nervous. I assumed I could get some kind of salad. The server came to take my order and asked which item i wanted (we were a large group, and there were 3 options). I told her that I had some allergies and she told me - "well you can only get these three options, which do you want?"- note this was said with an annoyed attitude. I replied that I didn't want anything, and she said "Fine", of course with the attitude. When you inform a server that you have allergies, they are not supposed to immediately demand you get an option that has allergens in them. This was incredibly distressing and I had to leave the table and asked the bartender to speak with a manager. Her response was swift, which I appreciated. The manager was very understanding, and helped me find a meal that I could have. I offered to even pay for the meal since i did not wish to incur an extra charge for ordering outside the menu, but she said it was fine.

Yelp
Went there years ago was great not so much now. Service was prob the worst we have had. No one can to greet us had to get a waitress after sitting there for some time. Our bottle of wine didnt come till after we ate our appetizers. All around me and guess were disappointed . Had high expectations. Spend your money else where

Pete M.

Yelp
We've been coming here for seven years now. From the very first time we came we were made to feel so welcome and shortly there after part of the family. this is our home restaurant. There's nothing on this menu that you can order and not be delighted with. We tell that to every friend who we've introduced to this awesome place. Incomparable bar, incomparable waitstaff, incomparable food!! who comes to an Italian restaurant for the best steak on the Jersey shore? I do and everyone who I've recommend they try to steak agrees. Reservations for large parties, celebrations or weekends are highly recommended. Enjoy.

Nancy N.

Yelp
I went to Jimmy's for lunch today. It was the worst experience I have had with a restaurant. I ordered the veal parm and was so excited. The salad was wilted and not fresh by a couple of days. Dressing - Caesar- and peppers were delicious but dressing not appropriate for a house salad. The veal parm - all I can say is that my body kept trying to throw up with each bite - very very chewy and a strange after-taste -left 3/4 of it behind. The side pasta was of poor quality based on the pasta that I buy from Joe's deli. I think that dinner may be a different experience but the price is the same. 1 star for service who was kind but food was so disappointing

Charles L.

Yelp
I love these old school restaurants with white table cloths excellent Italian food, a Good Fellas vibe. We need to support mom and pop establishments like these. These are honest hard working Americans pumping out some seriously good Italian food. It doesn't get any better than this. My soup was actually amazing, thick like bisque, so much jumbo lump crab meat. Exceeded my expectations! 10 stars. My white fish over pasta was really nice expertly done . Even the breAd was warm and good. Hooray Jimmy's. Your my favorite Italian restaurant in Asbury Park!

Michael J.

Yelp
Traditional italian restaurant. The service was on point and timed perfectly to enjoy each course of the meal. The food was outstanding. We started with perfect tender calamari followed by a family style salad. I had the veal shank and my wife had the branzino. Both cooked to perfection and portions were huge. Great dessert and wine selection as well. They need to upgrade the main dining room as it feels a bit worn, but all part of the ambiance as well. Will definitely be back again.

Marjory P.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. It was our first time here and many people had told us to try this restaurant. We will not be back. We had a 7:00 pm restaurant and we didn't like the table in the back it was in a party room. The waitress was not very personable at all. We waited for a booth for an 1 1/2 hours and we waited at the bar. We were told that we really couldn't sit there unless we were ordering food. We told the bartender that we were waiting for a booth. Meanwhile, the one booth had been empty but it had not been cleaned off. An elderly couple came in and sat at the booth that wasn't even cleaned off yet and just had cappuccino...I guess they were regulars. Ordered a salad and it came out with an awful dressing that tasted like fish and all you could smell was the fish in it. The pasta dishes that we ordered were a very small portion and not enough sauce and there wasn't much taste. The seafood in the dish was very chewy. The bill wasn't cheap and we were very disappointed with the entire experience.

Michael N.

Yelp
Old school menu meets film noir atmospherics all attached to a hefty price tag that you won't question if you know what's good for you. On certain evenings you just might catch Jimmy Cagney and Joe Pesci clearing the air over a plate of Linguini, Beef Braciola and a nice Red. When they call a place "dark and masculine" they were thinking of Jimmy's. If you're into fusion or are remotely health conscience, take your lululemon's and keep walking, Jimmy's ain't that kind of place, this is legacy Italian with nothing held back. Beyond the scene, everything on the menu is uniformly excellent so, if you still have that 1975 Lincoln Town Car on ice in the garage, pop in the Vic Damone 8-track and point your land-yacht over to Asbury Park. Jimmy's awaits.

Kyle W.

Yelp
Old school, Italian restaurant what else is there to say ? Jimmy's Italian restaurant speaks for itself. The staff is always helpful. The food is perfect. I can recommend anything on the menu. Beautifully curated wine list and excellent selection of liquor. I come here every year for either mine or my mothers birthday. I recommend it to anybody who is looking for the old-school Italian experience. They've got parking on site with valet. What more could you want.

Maria V.

Yelp
Finally - me and some friends decided to come to Jimmy's. Been on my Asbury Park list for a while now. We made reservations but it looked like there were tables. I think we went on a Friday night Jimmys is located right on Asbury Avenue near the 7-eleven. That area is a little sketchy but I didn't feel not safe. Jimmys has Valet parking which is nice. Professional. We walked in- the bar with bar tables were kinda packed! But there are several dining rooms in the back that had plenty of space Out server was Josephine( I believe) and she was the epitome of a Jersey Italian Woman . Accent with attitude to match. Funny also. We enjoyed her We didn't have drinks that night- not in a drinking mood that night. I did see some cocktails. The complimentary bread and the olive oil was divine . Yummmmm Appetizers- we all tried a cup of the crab soup and it was pretty good! We also shared the stuffed artichoke which was also good Friends had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and the Shrimp and lobster over linguine with a pink cream sauce . They enjoyed it I had the half serving of the Pasta DiGiovanni and the Veal Franzese. So I really did not like the Veal at all! :(. BUT the pasta digiovanni was really good! Spicy but good! Desert- friend has the Banana creme pie- that we all had a few bites of . OMG it hit the ball out of the park. So good. The pie crust was chocolate I think. We all LOVED it. I would definitely come back to try other items

Maddy R.

Yelp
Really disappointing experience from food to service. The sauces were so greasy that our pasta dishes were inedible. The service was severely lacking and the waitresses were rude when we kept having to remind them for the check. Given the number of incredible Italian restaurants in the area, I'd say skip Jimmy's and spend your money elsewhere (oh btw, the dishes aren't cheap either $$$).

G B.

Yelp
i had the vodka linguine this time and it was very good! creamy and saucy :). very good service as usual. i love their olive oil. it has rosemary flavor to it. i mainly used the olive oil with the bread this time rather than butter. although bread and butter is always good! sometimes olive oil is a good replacement. i just love their pasta. always fresh and delicious.

Dan M.

Yelp
OLD SCHOOL! we loved it here. we had a group of 10 and it was the first time for most of us. Jimmy's was the most convenient for such a large group, they could easily accommodate us and our noise level. The service was unreal for one waitress. She was perfect and very sociable. The menu is very large with plenty to choose from. Our table had a variety of meals, from pasta to steak and seafood. 2 things you must order. The pistachio cake, oh my god, we ordered 5 pieces for dinner for everyone to try and 5 people ordered more to take home. The second is the margarita. I was skeptical ordering a margarita at an Italian restaurant to drink but my friend swore by it and he comes often. It was exceptional! don't miss out!

Mavis W.

Yelp
This could be the best Italian restaurant in the state. A rare 5 star rating. Outstanding food and service. The sauces (gravy) are first rate. This out of the way gem gets 5 stars for the food. Worth a long drive to get this kind of italian food taste. Excellent.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Wow!! JUST WOW!!! OLD SCHOOL ITALIAN. The best Italian food and ambiance. A VERY extensive menu. Amazing staff. Five stars!!

Ric T.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to this establishment. In fact it was called Freddie's eons ago. Since parking has always been tight, valet service is provided. I would recommend it due to area. Yet gentrification is filtering here too. The bar really hasn't changed, and I recognized the dining area. Since that was crowded we were ushered into the "conference" dining room, where meetings are sometimes held. This secondary dining hall might have been added back when. There are tables for 2,4, & 8., nicely adorned with white linen. The staff is seasoned and friendly. The Italian food is excellent and brought in a timely manner. I cannot recommend what to order so you'll just have to choose for yourself. My only complaint was the acoustics; the music is too loud and it hinders conversation.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Jimmy's Italian restaurant in Asbury Park NJ on a recommendation from a friend. It is an iconic place located in the middle of Asbury Park. The old décor needs to be upgraded, you can still have iconic with new paint and furniture. The food was good, we had the portabella mushroom appetizer that was stuffed with peppers and spinach, very good. My wife had the veal marsala with green beans and mashed potatoes, the veal was tender and loaded with mushrooms, the only draw back was it was a little heavy on the sauce. I had the Fri Di with shrimp, clams and scallops over angel hair. It was good, plenty of seafood and the sauce was spiced just right. The service was very good, one complaint when they would clear a table, the dishes were thrown on top of each other right next to our table causing distractions. Didn't look like they cared to much about other patrons as long as they cleared the table, just like a diner. When we were about to leave the owner started screaming at the waitress for using the exit door. It was disturbing to see this grown women belittled right in front of everyone that was still eating. This was so unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. They have a lot of competition in New Jersey, the food is good they just need to upgrade the décor and show a little more professionalism and attention to detail when it comes to the customer.

Cotton C.

Yelp
Much like the other reviews have already said, Jimmy's is a legendary restaurant. I can honestly say that I've never once had bad meal. They're family owned and incredibly accommodating with any reasonable request. They will not compromise on taste and have an impeccable staff. Anyone who says that Jimmy's needs to modernize doesn't understand what kind of a place it really is. You wouldn't ask the Pope to update the Sistine Chapel because you know some things are best left the way they are. You might say that sounds a little exaggerated but you haven't been Jimmy's. p.s. I once ate a pound of pasta there when I was nine. That's how long I've been going.

Asher L.

Yelp
A fantastic place to enjoy an excellent Italian meal. Friendly staff and authentic, tasty food. We will come back again soon. Until next time see Yall later back to Texas..

Timothy T.

Yelp
Large restaurant, large menu, large portions, large prices. That's a terse summary of Jimmy's. Jimmy's has been here for years and is possibly the most famous restaurant in the area. Dignitaries have dined here and I certainly see why. 4 of us supped here and got exquisite service from our friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable waiter, Maurice. We all shared a family style served salad with a wonderful house made anchovy dressing. A decision on what to eat was tough but I opted for a pork braciola and meatballs special over linguine. For some reason Jimmys does not serve spaghetti; perhaps too pedestrian. The entrée was excellent and came out piping hot. There was plenty of food on my plate and I easily took home more than half of it. Large portions came with all our entrées. We walked out with four doggy bags. I can't really give five stars. The food was very good, came out hot, service great, ambiance terrific, just the value for the dollar isn't there. I don't blame them for charging $42 for some entrées. If the market can bear it, then it's justified. They do not seem to be lacking customers. I feel some of their offerings could be $10 less. Angel hair pasta was an upcharge! At $1/lb retail, really? This place is special and if you want to impress your future father-in-law, then look no further.

Dave P.

Yelp
Loved it! When with 6 people and we all loved our meals. I got the linguini and red clam sauce and really enjoyed it. We can't wait to return. FYI - If you don't like valet parking... don't go.

Joe T.

Yelp
As an Italian, I am offended by this restaurant. What a horrible representation of (what I consider to be) the best food on the planet. Party of 10. Not one person at the table was happy with their meal. The best review (of veal parm) was "it's good. Not great. Just ok." I ordered "shrimp a la jimmy". Shrimp were mealy and drastically over cooked. Tasted like it was made a few days ago. Mushrooms were from a can. The pasta was horribly over cooked and the entire dish had no flavor. My wife order shrimp fra diavolo. Also overcooked. Someone else ordered sausage....looked disgusting and apparently tasted disgusting as well. Someone else order Zappa de pesce. The calamari were the weirdest color I've ever seen and rubbery as hell. No one finished their dishes because of grossness. Please show this establishment that at these prices (they were EXTREMELY expensive considered the food was horrible) that this is not acceptable and boycott this place. In NJ you are never more than 30 minutes away from an incredible Italian meal. Questo è un oltraggio!

Dan P.

Yelp
hate to give such a poor review but after coming to Jimmy's for the last 45 years the meal was not good! The service was horrible which really made an expensive meal that wasn't very good far worse. We have gone many times and always had wonderful service and great food. This included a week before. We ordered two stuffed artichokes, and fried Calamari for appetizers. We had 6 people in our party and ordered 5 entrees including two stuffed veal chops. Our daughter and her girlfriend wanted to share an entree as they had eaten a late lunch and were eating two of the appetizers between them. The waitress was very quick to announce that there would be a sharing charge was not friendly whatsoever and acted as if we pissed her off. She had no patience at all when we were ordering and never greeted us or cracked a smile. We have never been charged a sharing charge before. In addition, my wife wanted a pizza for her meal. The appetizers did come out quickly but that was the end of any type of service When the salad which is served family style came out the waitress gave us 5 plates not 6. That was ok but a couple minutes after the plates were cleared, my wife's pizza was served before any meals. It was barely hot and when it was brought out my wife had no plate to eat it on and no waitress to be found. The waitress had been well aware of the fact that the pizza was my Wife's main course. After about 15 minutes I called the waitress over to finally ask for a plate. By the time the plate came the pizza was cold. After waiting for our entrees 30 more minutes, I again literally waived the waitress over again and said that I hate to complain but we really didn't understand why the pizza was served so long before the entrees. The waitress said she'd take the pizza back to the kitchen and warm it and bring it back out later when the entrees were served. About twenty minutes later I again waved the waitress back over as my kids asked for refills on sodas a long time ago and never saw the waitress since. About ten minutes later, the waitress brought the pizza out a second time and it was barely like warm and looked like she placed it under the heat lamp. My son tasted it and swore it was a frozen pizza. The waitress said our meals were coming out now. Well twenty minutes later still no meals. The meals finally came out. Nothing was hot. My veal chop was completely raw and only cooked a bit on one side. My sister ordered the special rolled pork entree which was very dry. The sharing dish which was pasta never came with a utensil to put half on the other plate ($8.95 sharing charge). Unless I rudely summoned over the waitress from the other side of the dining room we never saw her. That was embarrassing!!!! Not sure what happened but not positive I will give it another chance.

Yelp
First timer on a Saturday night in November. We did make a reservation and were seated immediately. You can reserve seats at the bar, missed out on that but will try next time. Dining room is comfortable we had a booth. Pasta dishes do not come with salad (that always makes me sad!) but entrees do. I had the chicken francese and the portion was enormous! Two breasts, very tender and moist. Had it over pasta and it was delicious. Entrees come with a family style salad. Greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, red peppers olives, and mushrooms. All good but the peppers and mushrooms were of a pickled sort. Personally I prefer fresh. House dressing was good. Despite putting half of my meal in a to go box, we all had dessert. I'm a tiramisu snob and it was very good. Service was solid. There is valet parking on site. I will go back and sit at the bar!!

Yelp
Been going to Jimmy's well over 30 years & never disappointed till yesterday....And disappointed is putting it mildly!.... Food & flavor quality, portion sizes, service, & atmosphere all severely down from previous years and prices up 25-30% across the board! Wife and I kept looking at each other in shock wondering if it was new (clueless) ownership or something. We couldn't understand how a (formerly) great place that was always packed could be more than half empty on Saturday Nite at dinnertime....But now we know why!.... The one bright spot was the Fried Calamari that were decent, but still pricey for a portion little more than half what it used to be! I never thought I'd say this (let alone put it in print) but this place is off our list of go-to places & likely never to return. Finished, done, well done, and yes, "FINIS!".... Do yourself a favor & spend your hard earned money someplace where you'll get decent value and service ( there's no shortage of places in the area) instead of leaving with the feeling that your palate, your wallet, and your intelligence were just insulted!

Yelp
Let me start by saying the food was good, but excellent, but good. Our waitress was a nice person, however, they have a lot to learn about service. We stood for close to 10 minutes waiting to be seated, with a reservation, and waitresses, the hostess, and a bartender didn't even acknowledge we were standing there until a woman walked in and went in front of us then she was spoken to. After that we were seated snd sat at the table over 15 minutes before we were even looked at by a waitress, I was 5 minutes from leaving, and going somewhere else. We gave her an order for an iced tea, a cocktail, and an appetizer. The appetizer came out before our drinks and we weren't given bread until we asked the bus boy for it. I don't know if they cater to regulars, or just straight families but I will never go back there again.

Yelp
Have been coming here over 30 years have seen ups and downs for sure came last night after not coming for awhile was disappointed. From the beginning bread was different altho the butter in foil remained which was a plus. We ordered salami and cheese on the house salad which arrived soggy drenched in dressing, you had to hunt for one piece of salami and cheese in there ( the house salad was included with our dinner however with the addition the cost was 20.00 extra??) for 2 people. Pork chop dinner arrived which was enjoyed however only one chop instead of 2 which was super disappointing and surprising since the price remained close to what it was prior with 2 chops. Other order was rigatoni vodka which arrived as penne with the vodka sauce more like tomato soup. Signature pistachio cake is always a bright spot. The waitress was nice and attentive and almost fearful we would complain about something seemed surprised when we repeatedly told her everything was fine. Another patron behind us was upset they ordered crab cake and received one Instead of 2 lol (35.00) but it was pointed out to them that they did get a potato! Inside decor is nice somewhat dated but we are ok with that since it brings back memories of times spent with family and friends. Standard Italian music was replaced with hip hop lol (the little things matter too) overall I pondered for a long while what it was that was missing from the past aside from rising costs quality and quantity and it is pride - it was sad leaving knowing it would be our last visit.

Yelp
Old school Italian, very welcoming, comfortable, large menu, terrific bar selections and so on. The entire evening only got better as we went. We love to sit at the bar and eat and Dave the bartender makes a wonderful drink. He friendly, knowledgable and made some good suggestions. Tara our waitress was also just as terrific. She knows the menu well and was attentive and friendly. For apps we tried the clams casino which tonights offering were small and sweet. Just delicious. We also did shrimp cocktail nice and cold and great cocktail sauce. We then ordered Pasta DiGiovanni OMG it is Sicilian style spicy garlic sauce over linguine. Absolutely perfectly cooked al dente and a spicy red garlic infused sauce. Sole Almondine also perfectly cooked and my husband adored it. My daughter had the double Italian style pork chop with hot peppers. She raved about the flavor. We ordered a side of rabe and escarole both were just yummy. I have to mention the fabulous house salad with an anchovies oil based dressing. Quite delicious, I have to find out what type of red peppers they used because they were memorable. We ended the meal with a cannoli to go for the big guy who was too full to eat one right away but wanted his treat for later. I ordered the pistachio cake! I'm drooling over thinking about it now. I was told by Tara that Stephanie does all the baking and all I can say is more please! Finally the valet parker was the most delightful and friendly man. I wish I had asked his name but I will next time. He left an impression on us as he opted all three of our doors and smiled and wished us a pleasant evening. The entire expereince was unforgettable and we cannot wait to go back. Diane you run a beautiful restaurant, have wonderful staff whom all treated us like regulars and we want to say we will now be regulars in the future. We're still talking about our dinner last night and what a nice time we had. See you all again soon.

Yelp
This is an iconic, classic place whose food has been consistently great! The place was filled. Reservations needed. Everything was cooked to perfection, except the broccoli-rabe was a bit over cooked and lacked flavor. The wait staff was wonderful and we were not rushed at all. They have some jobs that need to be filled but it did not interfere with our leisurely dinner. I will return again and again, each time, trying something new!

Yelp
An old school Italian joint. They've been around a long time so they definitely know how to prepare food. Restaurant was pretty crowded and loud on a Friday night. The bar area and the main room were full- the back room seemed to have a few tables available. There were 6 of us and we all ordered entree's and drink. The brought a fantastic family style salad for the table- it was so good I had seconds. Service was a bit slow and they forgot the bread. Overall the menu is large, typical Italian- reminds me a bit of Carmines or Tony DiNapolis in Times Square - food was exceptional. Even the desserts - we ordered two from the dessert tray- the chocolate banana cake was out of this world - carrot cake was great too. Some weird rules - only two credit cards per table, $5 plate sharing charge- like I said, old school.

Yelp
SUPER Over priced, pretty sure our server A was on drugs (not just like smoked a little weed, like hard drugs) and B over charged us. But how would you know their receipt is impossible to read. Food was pretty good for what it is, but the service was just awful. Never refilled waters, she even skipped one of our guests waters. Never even asked if we wanted another round of drinks. Only brought one champagne glass when we asked for a bottle? Very confusing, even checking in was confusing. A small sign leads you to the end of the bar to check in, upon doing so the two men making drinks at the end of the bar just looked at us blankly. I can see how this place does great in the summer with all the visitors but it was truly disappointing, we were out celebrating our friends birthday. Who lives locally and we just expected with the prices of the dishes the service would match. The valet guy was really the only nice/considerate person we interacted with all evening.

Yelp
My favorite Italian place!! Old school bar/restaurant with a wonderful staff. Food is consistently perfect. Good sized cocktails at reasonable prices. Free cheese crackers, salami and olives predinner. Never disappointed. Cleanest kitchen I have ever had the privilege of seeing. Keep doing what you're doing. Please!

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food. I had the NY Strip Steak "Pittsburgh style", with onion rings & escarole. Pasta fagioli soup, salad with a tasty anchovy dressing & chocolate raspberry cake. The fried calamari was also prepared well.
