I am only given three stars for now, because I just tried breakfast; the pancake tasted blend, but the waffle had more flavor, the eggs were ok but the bacon was great N crispy. But the next thing I will try will be the hamburger. They may not be the best in pancakes but they can be in burgers and they have other stuff I haven't tried yet.

Yes, I will be back. I loved my breakfast. The service was not good but EXCELLENT! The food was even better, less seasoned food allows the freshness of products to shine. Bravo Jimmy's! Oh my Westside omelet was so good and the biscuits are so perfect I asked for seconds. Please be aware its not a pretty place for date night but EXCELLENT for home cooked fresh food. Support your local restaurant.

This place was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. The place is very homey. You come in and you seat yourself. Immediately, we were handed menus and our drinks came pretty quickly. The food was fairly inexpensive. Our food came out in stretches because the waitress kept forgetting what we ordered. I had to flag my waitress down a couple times to get coffee refills. The place was packed but it wasn’t that busy to constitute my waitress for my being inattentive. I couldn’t eat my salmon patties because they were too salty and the pancakes I ordered for myself were very large, however, they were doughy. Everyone else loved their food.

I went to the diner today. My wife had knee surgery two weeks ago and this was her first “field trip” after a physical therapy evaluation appointment. Im a comfort food guy and after both of us debating restaurants we chose jimmys. Seeing my wife on crutches they could t have been nicer. They asked us what tables or booths would be more comfortable, the first was t great for us so they gave us a six person booth for the two of us, so sweet, so “anything we can do, please tell us”. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered the lamb shank. They had to check if it was available, because it’s a slow cooked item and sells out regularly. They did have it and I can’t express how happy I am that they did. It’s delicious. Not good, delicious. I’m 57 years old and an ex restaurant cook. This was delicious. The sauce I could old bathe in. The only way I can express how much I liked is is say, after I finished this HUGE portion, I ordered two more to go. One for me later, one for a friend who is healing from surgery. I have never ordered two more of anything to take home in my life. Eat here. Great people, better food

Old school diner feel, lots of different choices for breakfast! They serve lunch too but I only picked breakfast options. The food came out piping hot & delicious! Reminds me of Denny’s before it became so commercialized. Good quality food and even better prices. The wait staff were all very attentive and friendly.

Very friendly staff. Was greeted and seated right away. Felt some areas could use a update, some of the dishes seemed older and warn. Bathroom was clean but again could use renovation. Overall you get the old fashioned diner vibe but with some upgrades like an espresso machine, I think would bring in more customers. I just got some coffee and a slice of cake while I was waiting on a car wash. Food was good just not amazing!

Overall the Jimmy’s brand is just as classic as the dishes. Great portions and service. Each location is different but very similar menus. This was first visit to this location but will say they did amazing work with Mahi! Highly recommend if you want some fish n grits. House potatoes were very delicious but eggs were a little over done. It’s understandable because it was busy.

Old school diner vibes. I was with a group and they wanted Dennys but I prefer local spots. This place has delicious breakfast attentive service at a reasonable price. I ordered corn beef hash and kids had Mickey Mouse pancakes. Hubby ordered a lunch. I enjoyed my meal here.

For years we drove by this restaurant, choosing instead fancier options. Well, you can't judge a book by its cover. The waitresses are fabulous and almost became like family. The food is fabulous. The biscuits! Wow! We were in MIA for the winter and ended going to Jimmy's at least once a week. Enjoy!

While running early morning errands we decided to drop in to our highschool breakfast spot since we were in the area. The place hasn't changed much and is still a good option if you wanna grab a quick bite. The food is typical diner style menu items, nothing fancy. The service was great and the food was good. If you are in the area and want a quick bite with great service drop in.

In for breakfast on a Tuesday at 10.30 Not too busy. ORDERED: Ham, Sausage & American Cheese omelet, Home Fries & wheat toast. $11 GOOD Cooked just right. Will be back..

My bf & I were having one of those days where we just couldn't agree on what to order on Door Dash. I figured "hey, a diner! Something for everyone! This will be great!" It was not great. My bf got a bbq beef sandwich which was supposed to come with coleslaw, fries, and a pickle. It arrived with potato chips and nothing else. My bf said that the meat didn't taste good, and visually it didn't look good either. I ordered a grilled ribeye medium rare with mashed potatoes and gravy and the chef's vegetable of choice, which was collard greens. The steak was very thin, so of course, it was overcooked and tough. The collard greens were so bland. I ended up throwing away half my food. Sadly, based on the quality of this order, I won't try this place again.

Jimmy's is everything you'd think it would be. An old dive of a place, hangover food and bullet holes in the front glass windows. Wish I was exaggerating. The food was decent and our server was good-but.....I probably won't come back.

If you're looking for a gourmet dining experience, you probably won't like Jimmy's. However, if you're looking for consistently delicious food, this is the place for you! I've been coming to Jimmy's since I was a little kid (and my parents have been coming here for the last 40 years). Although it seems to have changed ownership a few times, I think they've kept their same kitchen staff because the food tastes the same as it has for as long as I can remember. Their fried chicken is the best I've ever had. The service is good, the prices are decent (usually, although some of their dishes are a bit overpriced), the atmosphere is homey, and the food is outstanding. Jimmy's has been a staple in my family for many years and will continue to be so for many years to come!

Our waitress was extremely rude, made us feel like we were bothering her everytime she was asked for something when food arrived the grits were so under cooked you could not eat them and the Cuban sandwich that was ordered was made an wrong bread and burned I will not go back to this place ! Very d

Fries were burnt. They looked refried. The burger was terrible. Maybe because it was an hour before closing? I didn't eat it and the waitress asked me if I wanted it to go. I told her it was terrible. She acted like she didn't hear me. I let it go. Paid for the meal and left.

A serving of grits and some sunny side up eggs goes a long way here. It's got that cozy and traditional diner feel where simplicity goes a long way. Sure, you won't find mimosas here but that's not why they're worth a visit. Consistently serving fresh and hot breakfast entrees with oversized lunch sandwiches and dishes; it's clear to see why they're favorited in the neighborhood. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Their expansion to this location brought comfort food to the area for extremely affordable prices making it a viable spot to grab a hot meal at on the low that doesn't short you on portions. They're open until 10pm which makes it suitable for a late dinner option. It's casual, friendly, and reliable. Jimmy's is a solid diner in NoMi so you can get your grub on in peace here.

Stopped here for breakfast while in town. Place was awesome; a real diner!!! Food and service was great. Good amount too. Definitely recommend.

It seems they changed management again. Place looks cleaner though no COVID 19 precautions obvious around. No sanitizers at the entry no tables marked for social distancing as a matter of fact the waitress was saying to customers coming in seat wherever you wish. Tables left unclean when customers left. Menus not picked up after being used . No extra napkins given just the napkins rolled with the utensils .Salt pepper sugar dispensers left on tables not being sanitized after each use as other restaurants do. An empty creamer container left on the table from previous visit and got Montezumas revenge from their eggs Benedict which We shouldn't have eaten as the hollandaise sauce seemed curdled from being too long under the heat lamp or unused. Last time to find me there and beware of their food.

Just had a great chicken salad platter with Cole slaw apostate salad. Best I've had in ages.

$6 breakfast special that includes everything count me in. They have other $5 ones as well. Neighborhood diner that is perfect. Like Johnny cash says the best part of my day is in the morning having coffee with her!

Jimmy's Place or Place II as we sometimes see it posted, is a fantastic, down home cooking spot right in the heart of the city of North Miami. Just a short drive from our house a little north east, we found easy parking right on site and in front and easy access all around. We were greeted promptly when we walked in on a Saturday morning and were able to sit wherever we pleased. The menu is vast, and the specials are a plenty, but making a decision as to what to try this first time around was easy with go-to's like egg specials with waffles or french toast, or add-ons like chicken breast pieces that were very tender. I opted for a special that came with coffee, two eggs, grits (a gigantic portion) and wheat toast. All was prepared fresh and made to order, the taste was amazing. One note that sticks out though about Jimmy's is the staff. Such friendly folks that constantly kept my coffee refilled -I cannot remember a place that does such a job. Loved it.

Jimmy's isn't fancy, flashy, or gourmet. It's old fashioned, casual, and feels like you're eating at a grandma's. Breakfast is good and cheap. Lunch is decent, and again, feels homemade. The staff has always been really nice, and service is usually really quick. If you're in the neighborhood and looking for something with that "home cooked" feeling, head to Jimmy's.

I only come to Jimmy's for breakfast. Can't speak on any other meal of the day. Jimmy's knows breakfast and that's all I need to know! My mom and I have been coming here for breakfast for about 7 years. Their food is standard diner fare but extremely consistent. Our meal always tastes great - eggs cooked exactly how I ordered them, grits are thick and corned beef hash has a perfectly crunchy crust. Yum! Food is brought out QUICKLY and piping hot . Almost seems like they have your plate waiting in the back but there's no doubt that the food is freshly made-to-order. The coffee is neutral (not too weak, not too strong) and that's okay because we usually go to Starbucks after Jimmy's anyway. Service is friendly and they love familiar faces. We've become very friendly with the staff over the years. I've personally never had a bad experience here. The furniture looks like it's been there since 1973 but it's all well taken care of and the floors are always clean, NEVER dirty. Overall, Jimmy's has that great neighborhood diner feel. Makes every breakfast feel like home.

First time here and loving it. I had the early riser special which consists of Belgium waffle, eggs and bacon and it was all so good. My husband had omlett filled with veggies and his homefries were delicious. Oh and don't forget to try their homemade biscuits.

Jimmy's has been our go-to diner for 10 years. Food has always been reasonably priced and pretty good for diner fare. I'm not sure if they've changed owners again, but it seems to have gone downhill. We ordered from GrubHub tonight because we've been under the weather. GrubHub was great and got dinner here in record time. Food was hot, but they got the order wrong. We specified no potatoes, extra veggies on both dinners. They even called to verify and I told them we didn't want potatoes. So what comes with both dinners? Mashed potatoes and gravy. We ordered a side of cottage cheese, and they sent a container of Feta cheese. Either they didn't care or couldn't be bothered. Either way, we're done.

I love this this place if your looking for comfort food or good breakfast spot this is the place , did I mention great service ask for bonny she's great .

Absolutely hands down the best service I've received in the area. The women here are fast, polite, hard working, friendly, funny and all smiling and just impressive. As if they love their jobs and are happy to help you get your food etc! This is a foreign concept in Miami and a breath of fresh air! The music and decor is old school but not run down. The cool antiques remind me of Northern America and the breakfast is large portioned and very good. Not fancy. But good and not greasy like a lot of cheaper places are. Is what I thought until I saw my bill. $4 for a cup of oj? $8 for my $5 plate because after ten am? Watch what your order.

Stumbled upon this place last night. First impression was...OMG where am I? I felt like I had transported back to a diner in the 70s. Service was good and food was great! We were a total of five and had the following all which were nice servings and most importantly DELICIOUS: turkey triple decker, meatball sliders (comes with 3) chicken parmesan sliders (comes with 3), french toast delight (comes with eggs, bacon and french toast) and lastly the chicken parmesan hoagie. The triple decker which I had on rye bread was excellent. It came with real turkey slices, nice pieces of bacon and a side of fries...yummy. My husband and daughter had the chicken parmesan and couldn't stop saying how delicious it tasted. My husband is very particular about his chicken parm. It was the prefect thickness, had the right seasoning, right amount of sauce (no heart burn) and cheese and to top it off...on Italian bread. He was one happy camper. One of my sons had the meatball sliders which he completely devoured without speaking so I know they were good. This place is far for me but if I am in the area again definitely would stop by again.

I recently was in the area of Jimmy's Diner and decided to have lunch there.I have gone there many times for their amazing Breakfasts, but decided to have a lighter bill of fare so I ordered the "Jimmy's Salad", and boy was I blown away ! It was the biggest, and most delicious salad I have ever had ; it had very generous portions of roast beef, real turkey breast, swiss cheese, and mounds of crisp, fresh- cut veggies, and served by a very gracious server. Jimmy's is a definite go to place if you are ever in the North Miami area ! .

I've been going to Jimmys for over 20 years, it's always been the local family diner. It recently has changed ownership and the quality of food and service has gone down the drain! Each time I've gone recently, the order has been messed up. The owner is in the kitchen, making the food and it is clear he does not know the menu. My orders always come out completely wrong. It seems the kitchen does not care to correct the issue either. A total disappointment. After 20 years, I will not be going back.

Jimmy's is an old school diner. I really like old school places like this. Service is good food is good. The place is old and worn looking but to me it adds to the charm. For what is most important; cleanliness, service, and food.

I had a craving for pancakes so I went to Jimmy's Place and got my fill. Being from the Northeast, I know all about great diners. Jimmy's Place II is a run-of-the-mill diner in North Miami, and I like the at-home feel this place provides at very reasonable prices (I guess it depends on who you ask what reasonable is). I felt right at home the moment I walked in. All the waitstaff is friendly, the pancakes were good and so was everything else. Service could have been just a tad faster, but all is well that ends well. I would definitely return and try something else, but as a diner, I feel that breakfast dishes should be the one thing you do well, if nothing else. I'll give something else a try next time.

We had purchased a "Local Flavor" $30 voucher for Jimmy's which expired. On the bottom of the voucher it states that the "paid value ($15) expires on 02/27/2024. Merchant will abide by gift certificate state laws." Not only would the manager not accept the voucher but refused to speak with us directly.

New owner trying so hard to raise the bar here....and he's doing it....great service, good wholesome food, large portions

I decided to have brunch there for the first time, since this place is right by my job. I placed an order over the phone for pick-up.... The food was promptly made and was greeted by the same hostess who took my order. I ordered the Jimmy's Special which includes: pancakes, eggs and bacon with coffee. I was missing my coffee but one of the waitress quickly attended to the mistake. The food was good and the pancakes size will definitely not leave you wanting for more. You get a bang (2 large pancakes) for your buck. The diner is not the prettiest to look at but for a quick breakfast with friendly service and a meal that won't hurt your wallet, this place does the job.

Since the moment I walked in it felt like a true diner ! Very clean , friendly and helpful environment , great food and food size . I recommend to anyone that's hungry and wants true American food to come and try this lovely place , decently coming back !

I was served two watery eggs, two burnt & chewy sausages and two pancakes. I was very disappointed and upset for wasting my money at this establishment.

Haven't been here in a while. I usually come by for breakfast but today was dinner. I ordered off the specials board. Didn't even look at the menu. Shepherds pie $9.75. Soon after I ordered it the waitress walked over to the specials board and changed the price to $10.25. So as I wait for my food I get into watching what's on TV. Great special on the terra-cotta Army from ancient China. The only other guest in the diner leaves so I'm the only one watching the TV. The waitress decides to change the channel. What a shame because I was actually the best part of my experience at the diner. So I get my shepherds pie. It was pretty sad. The instant mashed potatoes were so hard and dehydrated. The whole thing was pretty flavorless. Maybe if I add some hot sauce or A1. Non on the table or the counter. where's my waitress? Okay fine I give up. I know, I'll take a piece of pie home. That should help. I'm sure they don't make it. It come right off the Sysco truck, right. I couldn't finish the pie either. I guess after the new owners came in they changed a few things... And yes, on my bill was $10.25 for the shepherds pie. It wasn't worth arguing about because the $.50 would've made that shepherds pie any less bad.

The food is great. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with collared greens and cornbread. Huge portions and amazingly yummy! The price is right too. I'll be back!

I've been a regular of this place for a long time. If you're in the mood for great Americana this is the place to go. Period. From the meatloaf, to the sandwiches, or the smothered pork to the cheeseburger, everything is absolutely delicious and prepared with care. Try their soups, and try their desserts! The chicken and rice they have Sunday and Monday is about the best soup you'll ever have and their cream pies are the best around - try the chocolate. The service is fast and attentive and the portions large enough to split or to take home till your second wind kicks in! Absolutely recommended! See you there.

Jimmy's Place is a local landmark and an institution. I've been eating there for over 10 years and the meals are always EXCELLENT. I primarily go for lunch. the Value is great, the food is fresh, staff is friendly, service is quick and the variety is very good. BBQ Pork Sliders, Hamburgers, Breakfast all day and Daily Specials Fresh Pies and excellent coffee. Forget Starbuck's Jimmy's Place II is the REAL DEAL!

I've been coming here since I was a kid and I got to say, it never disappoints. Great burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, specials and huge portions. And the pie selection is so darn good. Homemade good old diner food. Love a place like this!

Good classic food for a good price. More like and old fashioned diner. You can stay and eat but most people order to go myself included I usually order breakfast for myself and the family on the weekend when we just feel like staying in. Always ready when I go pick up just pay and leave.

Tasty, greasy spoon diner. All the diner classics. Place is a classic. Not shi-shi or fancy. This is an old school joint with real butter, real grease, and real sausage......

Overpriced burnt food. I order a bbq sandwich (which looked nothing like their pic from a card ad). I order an extra side of coke slaw. I also order 10 piece buffalo chicken wings. 1. The bbq sandwich was sliced not shredded. 2. The cole slaw was spoilt. 3. No fries? 4. Wings were burnt. I placed my order at 2:45 pm and was denied the lunch special that ends at 3:pm due to the fact that rep place me on hold twice. A simple lunch special valued $15. End up costing $30. I called the store spoke with the manager only to be given the run around. What a waste of my good money. Never again.

I guess I'm not much of a diner guy or do not care for food that in order to make it taste good you have to put truck loads of gravy. Came to Jimmy's for lunch and I can honestly say I do not get the 4 star reviews. The place is just like any other dinner, same goes for the food. I had the BBQ pork sandwich. Let me start by saying BBQ pork is one of my favorite sandwiches. What I got here was slices of pork lather on BBQ sauce between two buns. That, my friend, is a sorry excuse for a sandwich. Read other reviews, I guess I have to come and try the breakfast. Because, at least for lunch, is not that big of a deal. Especially when down the block you got Cane-A-Sucre.

Classic american diner with great food at a great price. Service is good, people are nice. Portions are good size.

Use to love this place and I wish I could still give it 5 stars. Unfortunately over the last couple of years this place has gone down hill a bit. Management is not the same and the prices have sky rocketed through the roof. It's not bad if you want that "home cooked" meal style food but unfortunately the prices have steered me away. For the price I pay here, I might as well go to PF changs or some other high class restaurant. It reminds me of an old school type of diner and hasn't changed much interior wise over the last couple of years. The waitress's are friendly and the food is great. I think I would be driven to eat here more often of the prices weren't so crazy, otherwise it for sure a place you have to try for that old home style food.

I haven't taken any pictures because I always order online for my elderly parents on the recommendation of a friend. So far it's been really great although the delivery fee has gone up I have no choice for now. My parents are quite happy with the food that has been delivered. Only thing, I have to make sure that I put on the special part for the coffee because when you order for the six dollar there's no choice for coffee or tea but you have to put it on the special note section. I will take pictures one day

Enjoyed the chicken and rice soup and tuna sandwich special. Very tasty. Nothing fancy. Nice friendly service. Daily lunch specials too.

Breakfast was great besides the fact that my grits taste a little burnt this time. Won't stop me from coming back
