"A Springtown pizzeria on the 400 block of East State Highway was closed by the local health inspector after employees posted on social media about an incident in which a co-worker topped a pizza with Miralax; the co-worker who unknowingly ate it became ill, police investigated, and employees denied adding laxatives to pizzas sold to customers." - Adele Chapin

Google
Came here for a Zone 5 Lions International business meeting. Had the cheese and the pepperoni pizza--delicious. Crust was just right and sauce was flavorful. Menu is typical: subs, pizza and pasta. Prices are competitive with other pizza houses. Service was very good. The place was very clean and on the quiet side. Although dining room wasn't 100% private, it was conducive to a great business meeting without interruptions. I would come back again, as it is centrally located in downtown Windsor; it is welcoming; has Google prices; tasty food; and plenty of parking.

Google
Very clean, lovely dining! Greek style pizza dough, lots of toppings, not greasy pizza. Salads were plentiful and then the wings were saucy and tender, not like other spots. It’s cheaper than the competitor down the street and family friendly. First time there and not the last

Google
Delicious cuisine. Awesome staff (Laura is a sweetheart) Great chef. Cozy atmosphere. Norma, the owner is wonderful. Chicken and broccoli Alfredo was so good. Delmonico steak was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Everything was so fresh and made to order. Check them out! They won’t disappoint!

Google
Family owner and operated, very friendly service, always on top of everything you could every possibly need. I was just impressed and I will miss this place when I move. Thanks 🙏 awesome veggie pizza and yummy coffee!

Saikh R.

Google
The outstanding hospitality convinced me to award more than one star. Despite ordering a large half Italian and half cheese pizza with red sauce, the crust was unfortunately undercooked. The server, displaying great kindness, promptly involved the owner, both of whom apologized and offered a replacement. However, witnessing an argument in the kitchen about the crust being undercooked due to heavy toppings was a bit disheartening. Ultimately, the second pizza had the same issue, including the half with just cheese.

Google
Jim’s Pizza is back! The service was excellent and I mean everyone was really nice. Service is everything for me and they get 10 stars ⭐️ today. We ordered Pizza, mozzarella sticks, and garlic bread, everything was delicious. I haven’t been in a while but I’m glad we stopped in.

Google
All their food is great. We love the chicken parmesan dinner. They are large portions and we always take some home.

Yelp
Stopped in a few days ago, returning from Wethersfield. Was seated by Nisha, who was excellent, handling two large groups (and me). The turkey club I ordered was different, but also excellent. Different in the sense that it was served on thinly sliced and toasted Italian bread. It was also Dagwood-sized, and my pearly whites had a difficult time fitting it in my biggggg mouth (as Ralph Kramden would say). Turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon all in abundance. Came w French fries and some pickle medallions. Very tasty and reasonably priced. One more thing about Jim's. In business since 1966, and does a lot for the community. As one example, a few years ago, Jim's donated an enormous amount of food at a benefit to help a cancer survivor pay medical and other bills. Kudos to them always! 4 and 1/2 stars

Yelp
Our first try there we sat in the dining room. The wait staff was friendly enough, though it was very confusing to me why they wanted to know if we wanted ice in our beverages. Next, my granddaughter order plain ravioli with sauce on side; the staff was so confused about what we were asking for. They apparently only bake their ravioli dish and couldn't understand that we just wanted them boiled. After all that, the raviolis were a bust Our second time was a call in order to try their pizza. I order the pizza and when I got there, they repeated an order to me that had an item I didn't order. When I said there must be a mistake, I was met with hostility and how I was wrong and that is what I ordered! Wow! They begrudgingly made another pizza, for which I still tipped, apologized for any confusion on my part and still can't even meet halfway! And they refused the tip!!! I dare say, that is the last trip for us.

Yelp
Got take out twice. The first time, both the Italian sub and the eggplant sub were the best my family has eaten in a long time. First time was better than our second take out. so concerns about consistency makes me hesitant to go back

Yelp
A fall from a once great place! The antipasto was atrocious. All iceberg, very little olives and meats. The pizza was bland and nothing like from previous management. Wings were a sad representstion of a popular appetizer. Will not return

Linda H.

Yelp
I ordered a large pizza from them and paid $25 for it... Ended up being a mere 16" pizza. Horrible quantity for the price. Called to complain and after being 'on hold' (heard all conversations ), then they hung up! Will NEVER order from there again.

Yelp
I stopped by this place for lunch and wanted to try the pizza. The place itself was spacious clean and pretty empty. The pizza was piping hot and fresh and tasted delicious. I will say it was a bit salty possibly from the toppings but overall the service was great and the food was delicious

Yelp
Jims is our favorite local pizza for dining in and take out. The staff is always friendly and patient even when they are super busy and the dining room is a really big place we have never waited for a table, it is clean and comfortable. I recommend the vegetable soup and Greek Salad with chicken.
google avatar

Ariel S.

Yelp
I was in desperate need of a grinder and decided to give Jim's a chance! They deliver so with lunch time typically being nap time at home I don't get out much! I would have loved a cappicola grinder but they didn't have any so I settled and got an Italian combo grinder and it was so perfect and HUGE! I added banana peppers and oil and vinegar and it was the PERFECT combo! Hopefully they get cappicola back and add that in too next time! Their hot Buffalo wings are so good as well!

Yelp
Awesome Italian restaurant in Windsor center! Plenty of dining room space and tasty Italian food.

Yelp
Pros Accommodating with letting me bring in dessert Private room Real plates for the pizza Staff was available Pizza price was very reasonable Cons Don't order your food for an event there in advance...I ordered four party size pizzas and they weren't even warm...you could look at them and tell they weren't warm...when you're in the moment of an event you don't really think about it...however, looking back the next day I realized I should have ordered upon arrival and waited the 30 or so minutes for it to come out...they clearly cooked these well in advance of our party and didn't bother to even warm them up before serving...not happy about that.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
I ordered a large cheese pizza and the cashier told me that it looked over done and it was no problem to make me a new pizza. They did and this one was a lot better looking and it tasted so good. She was so nice and didn't think it was a burden at all to do it she wanted me to be happy. It's so nice to be treated like I matter as a customer to them.

Yelp
Great pizza not a fan of the grinder. Buffalo chicken pizza is so good. Staff was nice and friendly

Cindy B.

Yelp
Stopped in after doing a Google search for local pizza places. It sits in the middle of a neighborhood and wow!!! What a great meal! They have a wide variety on the menu but my husband and I chose the classic Italian pizza. Yummy!!! The service was great...the one lady serving the sitting area was very nice and helpful in making choices. The pizza was absolutely delicious! Fresh ingredients and homemade. Will definitely visit again if ever in the area!

Wanda W.

Yelp
I ordered calamari and an Italian sub from Jim's restaurant. Calamari was fried perfect. The grinder I saved for the next day, but the little piece I tasted was good. Delivery was on time I would order from there again.

Amy S.

Yelp
Love this place and the service. Generous portions that are always fresh. Great place for families and large groups. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Popped in for lunch today. They have three pretty good sized dining rooms, two were empty and the one I was seated in had three tables of customers. They feature a very broad basic menu - soups, salad, wings, calzones, Greek, Italian, chicken, veal, steak, fried seafood, sandwiches, pizza, grinders, and wraps. I had a chicken barley soup and a half turkey grinder. The soup was very good -nice chunks of chicken in a thick comforting sea of reddish broth and barley. Room for improvement? Yes it was just lukewarm. The half grinder was solid- nicely toasted roll with shredded lettuce, ripe tomato slices and a generous supply of deli turkey (not slimy like a prior review mentioned). The server was polite, pleasant, and smiley. It's not gourmet dining, but if diner comfort food rings your bell, you should enjoy the tune Jim's plays.

Yelp
Came for an event, and I wasn't overly impressed. However it was nice inside and there was plenty of seating. I tried to cut them some slack because they were hosting two events at the same time, but when we arrived none of the food was ready yet. The wings looked like they had been sitting out for a while because the sauce had a slight film to it. The pasta in Alfredo sauce with chicken and broccoli was good, but the pizza was lacking. Maybe I'm just spoiled with pizza, but it tasted like something you'd get at Chuck E Cheese. I only came for the event and won't be making a trip back.

Yelp
Just came back from celebrating my mom's birthday here, after I've been here once with a group to hang out and have ordered takeout pizza before. We ordered an extra large Italian Delight pizza, one that has mozzerella, ricotta, garlic, olive oil, spinach and sauces. The pizza was delicious, our server Rob was excellent and attentive, and we all had a great time. The only reason I'm giving it a four star is because unfortunately we did notice one empty teacup on a table and empty sugar packets were on the ground, it should have been cleaned up.

Yelp
Lunch time my daughter wanted to eat pizza. We try the Italian bright.(small ) taste perfect. There is a waitress beautiful, lovely and smile always. We wait a little time as all the pizza are made on order.

Yelp
The pizza is okay. I called today to get delivery and she told me they were no longer delivering for the nite because they had to many so they stopped early! What in the name of business? I was disappointed because I called a whole house and 20 mins before closing! So you would turn me down as a customer because you have too many? Where is this done? Very unprofessional...she didn't even apologize! She said it like my order didn't mean a thing! Will not be supporting this subpar pizza business who does not value its customers!

Amanda R.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken parm family dinner for my daughters birthday and when I went to pick it up yesterday it was given out to the wrong customer. I was upset and aggravated and started to cry. My boyfriend went inside and talked to the lady and she quickly offered to make another family meal and have it delivered to my home. By the time I got home he was approaching my house with the hot food. I couldn't thank them enough. highly recommended

Alyssa B.

Yelp
jims is usually our favorite neighborhood pizza I've gone here since I was a baby, but the last three times we got it, we all got food poisoning, I didn't think anything the first two times thinking maybe it's something else we ate or we had a stomach bug but no we tested the theory and turns out we were right. we got a buffalo chicken pizza a few nights ago and have all been violently sick since. food taste great until it's coming up a second time.

David E.

Yelp
Really good food and healthy menu options. I ordered the Chicken Athenian and it was both tasty and a generous portion. The garlic bread is also very good -- not oily like in many other places. I am rating 4 stars only because they seem short staffed, for such a busy place -- the service may be a bit slower.

Michael G.

Yelp
Great family run restaurant, with awesome service and great tasting food. We try to go regularly, and especially enjoy the Fisherman's Platter . Can't wait till we can eat table side again , but until then preorder and pick up is working great . All safety precautions taken , with social distancing and masks ... keep up the great service ... we'll keep coming back... Mike & Pat

M S.

Yelp
Pizza is ok but service has gone downhill mostly with takeout. Many times pizza is not ready when promised and sometimes rushed and undercooked. Lots of other options around.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Had the veggie soup and spinach pie tonight! Awesome! I would definitely go back. Has a casual family feel about it.

Crown Linen Service, I.

Yelp
Jim's pizza windsor ct! Food is so delicious! Every time I go I am never disappointed!! Great family restaurant! I always get my pizza there and I live in suffield.. worth the drive... John Grace

Yelp
We now live in Southington but lived in Windsor for years! Jim's was a family favorite! We were in the area tonight and went back! The renovations to the dining room are very nice. We enjoyed delicious spicy wings, calzones, pizza and seafood. The service was great and we enjoyed being back at Jim's!

Lucifer M.

Yelp
Nicely refurbished interior. However, waited 45 minutes for a small pizza and was told the "oven is slow today". They should not have opened if the oven was not functioning.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
I did not like Jim's. I ordered a chicken orzo soup and a turkey club grinder. The soup was so thick, almost a clam chowder consistency, which makes me think it was sitting there all day. The turkey on my grinder was slimy. My boyfriend got the fish and chips an thought it was terrible. He is used to getting fish and chips at this great restaurant we go to and you could clearly see the difference in the freshness of the fish. This fish had a gray, dull, almost translucent look to it. Horrible, I will not be back.
google avatar

Sara E.

Yelp
I wanted to give it three stars, but my grandmother is a raving fan and I put on an extra star for her. My grandmother absolutely loves their pizza. She always gets the same thing: cheese and pepperoni. I always get the GLUTEN FREE Hawaiian pizza. It's always delicious. Word of caution: the gluten free pizza always has one or two slices which are too cooked and stick to the pan. The toppings fall off easily on the gluten free pizza, but that is not necessarily their fault. At first glance, it may look like your pizza is skimpy on the toppings, but worry not--Jim's puts the majority of its toppings UNDER the cheese. Not sure why, but it's still there, and still tastes great. Tried Jim's originally based on a friend's suggestion and was not disappointed. DELIVERY: They do deliver, but only to some areas. Call and ask first before wasting time with your order. Their delivery is pretty fast and thorough. Beware: if you're going during the day and there's a bunch of old people, DO NOT talk about politics. They WILL stare at you intently the entire time. Lmao.

Yelp
Jim's is a pizza place. If you're going for something else, you're going to be disappointed. The wings suck-- to put it nicely, and I wouldn't touch the fish with a ten foot pole. But Jim's has by far the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The crust is the PERFECT thickness, crusty on top but chewy and it doesn't get soggy if you leave it in the fridge for a few days. Ha, if it LASTS a few days. The toppings are perfectly proportioned to cheese and sauce. I've NEVER had a bad pizza here. My favorite is the Italian Delight...but the house special is great. My sister is a vegetarian and the meat-free pizzas do not leave you wanting. I cannot say enough good thing about the pizza here! Best in Windsor.
google avatar

Jennie G.

Yelp
One word will describe my entire experience here: phenomenal. I got manicotti, delicious. My sister got ExCheese pizza, my mom got chicken Parmesan, and my dad got eggplant Parmesan. They all agree that it was delicious. P.S. I am ten years old.

Carroll T.

Yelp
The pizza, calzones, and Greek salad were all very good. The wings were about the worst I've ever had - cold (I sent the 1st batch back), dry. It's hard to make wings disappointing, but they succeeded. They were bought precooked and frozen I'm sure and heated in the microwave or possibly the oven and then doused in sauce. My wife's chicken piccata was the worst ever. She's not one for sending food back but admitted later that she should have. I tried to bite and it was the driest worst chicken I've ever eaten way worse than the wings even. Granted my wife asked for it to be gluten-free so not coated with flour, but that's no excuse. Whatever food can't be cooked properly should be taken off the menu. The waitress was nice and accommodating for our group of eight.
google avatar

Tom I.

Yelp
Good was generously portioned and tasty. Service was fast and sincere. Family style dining with family run biz. Had simple pizza, pasta with meatball....they were both really good, the red sauce was really nice home made. Keep in mind, food was tad salty.

Phil M.

Yelp
Jim's pizza has been around since a was a kid. Great place to go after school for a slice of pizza. Now over 40 years later, its the same good food made by Jim's family. I recommend this place for good home style food.
google avatar

Des S.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about my experience here! I ordered delivery for my father who is ill while I was out of state. Not only did they get the food delivered to my father, they threw in some bread and delivered it quickly and they were amazing over the phone. My Dad said it was the best pizza he's ever had. I will definitely be ordering here time and time again. Service, quality, and human interaction is on point at Jim's!!! And the food, well, order here and you won't be disappointed!!
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Just went to Jims for the first time, we just sort of stumbled on it. It's not much to look at but they make some very good food. It's an Italian place, but I had the wings and they were amazing. They have 8 sauces and they give you a good amount. Why go to buffalo wild wings when Jim's is right up the road. My girlfriend had ravioli which was also very good. Good prices for beer and wine and they have a full bar. Didn't try the pizza, but it looked good. Definitely give this place a try. It looks like an old run down restaurant because it is. But that doesn't mean they don't have great food. I mean any place that's been open since the 1960s must be doing something right.
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
We get take-out quite a bit from Jim's for work. The times can be a bit inconsistent when waiting for food, but the pizza is great. They have some impressive specialty pizzas, and the food always tastes fresh. The one time they messed up my order, they more than made up for it by letting me keep the incorrect order on top of the fixed. I recommend the BBQ Chicken Pizza!

Frances M.

Yelp
If I could give no stars. I would. Went in to order take-out saw a cockroach on the counter. No thanks. This place is rather unclean.

Chasity T.

Yelp
Ordered the meatball grinder w/ extra cheese! Delicious!!!! one of the best in the area.
google avatar

Dave D.

Yelp
Interesting, a pizza place that doesn't do slices. The "Italian" sub was OK for a ham and salami sandwich with provolone and lettuce.
google avatar

Juta S.

Yelp
Have been going to Jim's since 1978...delicious food, very nice and kind servers, very welcoming atmosphere! My favorite is their scrod dish...always cooked perfectly, not over -cooked vegetables, and a baked potato ..the cook always does what I have asked regarding how I like my scrod prepared..even to putting crushed potato chips on top like I do at my home.....in fact, Anything I have ordered has been delicious! If you've never been there, give it a try...don't think you will be disappointed!

Iwona Z.

Yelp
We stopped there on our way to Okemo. We had few appetizers, salads and dinner. Portions are big and everything was delicious! Very helpful and friendly service!

Lea Hoss M.

Yelp
The change is management is evident . We got a chicken parm grinder and a calzone. We picked up the order and realized they gave us a meatball. Called to tell them about the mix up. Drove back and handed over the meatball. They yelled to someone that it was going to be their dinner since we returned it. The guy there said "what's the difference", referring to the mix up of the meatball and chicken. I replied "different animal". Anyhow, they handed over the chicken parm. No credit for me driving back even though it was their mistake. The chicken parm was so bad we couldn't eat it. The chicken was leathery fatty pieces like cartilage-all the pieces! We had to throw out the chicken and eat the bread and swore to never go back. Maybe it'll change but I'm all set.
google avatar

Evan P.

Yelp
I have been going to Jim's since I was just a child. The food isn't the fastest but it is always worth the wait when they bring that delicious food out! I personally recommend their sweet and sour wings.
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
I just came from Jim's. There was about 6 other people inside eating so the kitchen or help was not over stressed at anyone time. This not my first time at this restaurant and I have spent up to $500.00 a month eating out there with my family because the food and service was great. This evening the service was very good with Rosemary as always. I ordered their bean soup for starters which was good but cool, not hot at all. There was garlic bread that was very hard, knock on wood with those small slices. I did dip them into my soup but to no avail I could not soften them up. For my main course I had Ziti and meatballs. When I received my dinner, it was as if they cooked it outside, COLD and disgusting. Their sauce was the worst I ever ate there, and let me tell you I have had a lot of their spaghetti sauce. So I know the difference from their very good sauce to the crappy sauce, and tonight was crappy. The 3 meatballs were warm only because the sauce they put over the meatballs was warm. This meal was so bad I sent it back and I said I don't ever want to see it again. I have had better food in the military. The manager on duty I believe was Pam, she never approached me or asked what the problem was or can I get you something else. Pam's lack of hospitality in a "managers" position shows me she has no professionalism or cares about customer. Some people become managers because of hard work, others managers get that position because they are just part of the family. My days of eating at this restaurant are over.
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
Who sends delivery to a hotel with no silverware or napkins?? Thanks for nothing. The food is ok. Too bad I'm eating stuffed shells with my HANDS. Guess I should start packing my own utensils. Potato skins were good. Bread was good. Salad was small. Entree was small.
google avatar

Teddy W.

Yelp
Stuck in a time warp, had to pick up a pizza at the last minute, finally decided to try this old dinosaur not sure if i could be disappointed since I had no real expectations, well it lived up to it. Still can't figure out why the town of windsor can't have one decent restaurant, this is no exception. It's almost a cliche of an old greasy spoon, this place could a serious facelift from Restaraunt impossible.
