Individual burners, house broths from mala to matsutake, and a tutorial vibe make this new hot pot spot a community builder. CT Insider noted its 2024 debut from the owners behind Taste of China and Steamed.

Ended eating here by chance. Was very spectical because I tend to stick to places I'm familiar with. The food and the experience were amazing. One of the chefs helped me make my dipping sauce. The dipping sauce made the entire meal. Ate until I couldn't eat anything else. It was amazing

Do not order UberEats from them. Chef evidently use too much artificial pigment. I ordered a tomato soup bowl, and as you can see, everything is pigmented in pink. I thought tofu and cabbage are supposed to be white, not pink! No tomato soup in the world can ever change the color of my tofu so bad.

My husband and I come here all the time. We love the food, it's always been fresh. We love the atmosphere, calm and peaceful. Service has always been phenomenal. Im glad we found this tiny spot, it's one of our favorite places to go.

Server was on his phone the entire time. Never took a single drink order from anyone at any table the entire time we were there. Food was good but hot pot options and sauce bar were very limited. Server forgot many things ordered even after i reminded him several times. He kinda sucked. Sorry.

Great quality ingredients, and they even upgraded the sauce station yesterday! It has self disinfecting shelves. :) thank you for great service.

Google
Very nice all-you-can-eat hotpot this afternoon with a lot of options to choose from.

Having your own pot instead of one giant one is a very cool experience for those who don't want others to steal what they put in! This place is new, so don't expect perfection, but it is still very nice and worth the visit. Good soup/base selection and a variety of food. Shoutout to the bartender for the amazing drinks.

Google
Great place, but there could be more sauces.

Yelp
Surpassed our expectations, since we have hot pots all the time. There were 5 soup bases choices and we tried 4 - they were all good. We went with a la carte which gave us more food options. Ordering the seafood platter and beef/lamb platter got us a free veggie basket which was very good. Next time we'll try the AYCE. Seating was nice, with everyone having their individual pots. The whole place smells great!

Yelp
A new hot pot place has opened up in New Haven! As a native Californian, I am truly blessed with good Chinese food and unfortunately, this place is not up to par... and not even good for CT. The meat was frozen and defrosted, the broths tasted like water, and it was pretty expensive for the quality you get. The broths looked very flavorful, but it truly tasted like water... No amount of sauce was able to save it. You also can't even make your own sauce, they come to your table with a sauce cart and make it for you... The service was meh as well. Overall very disappointing.

Yelp
According to the owners, they just opened one week ago and it's already super busy. You can call to make reservations or do walk-in. I came with a party of 4 and waited about 25 minutes. They gave my group a discount for ordering 2 platters of meat and got 1 free veggie platter. Not sure if this is their soft opening deal. The mushroom soup and beef soup were a bit bland. The meat platter was plated nicely but they definitely used frozen meat. I would say a bit pricey... Overall, not bad. Soup taste healthy which I don't mind. Definitely on the pricey end but there's not many hotpot places in New Haven so happy they opened!

Yelp
This is brand new Hot Pot place in New Haven Their service is great with nice interior design It seems like their soup base and sauce are milder than what you would expect perhaps to cater to general population It's reasonably priced and they offer 10% discount which can be opening discount

Yelp
They have change it to all you can eat style . With a vegetarian eater in our group might not be the wise option but we try anyway. The soup based was ok I have the spicy one but it tasted like premixed soup instead of home made soup based. The worst part is the food is not fresh . So disappointing! The shrimp is the worst but the veggies is fresh and the meat are ok . The food options wasn't much to choose from. They don't even have pork or chicken meat to choose from. I will not go back again .

Yelp
Completely eclipses other hotspot restaurants. Every food has high quality and the waiter helps us whenever we need. It's especially fun to eat with friends like I am and it's crashing my heart. I would say it is one of the best hotspot restaurants in New Haven.

Yelp
When we came in the man work in the front desk, didn't even give us menus. The people at a table down from us, gave us their menus when they were done. Then he didn't come back to check on us until we asked him. We asked for wooden chopsticks and there was a bug but honestly, you never know on the chopsticks and we asked him what it was. He looked at us and then asked us what it was.

Yelp
Written by my 12 year old. "I really like the concept. The restaurant is aesthetically beautiful. The lighting is good. I like how you make the food at the table." Everyone in our family liked it. We will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Pros: They had personal pots for your own broth of choice, which was a first for me. The spicy broth was excellent, just the right amount of spice, and the meats were also very good. Must try the fatty beef! Overall, hotpot done right. The ambiance was also good, all nice furniture. Also wasn't too crowded when I went on a Wednesday night either, perfect if you want a nice quiet date. They also let us BYOB and gave us ice for our drinks! Cons: While the food came out fast, there was only one waiter when I went and he didn't check on us too often. Could be a yay or nay depending on your taste. The sauce making section could have been nicer too, it was just plastic tubs on top of a table - also found a fly in the cilantro. Also pricey but that's all hotpot. Overall great experience!

Yelp
What a great new experience on Whitney Ave in New Haven, right off I-91 Trumbull exit . True hot pot cooking from China culinary duo Hu and Jonathan Dolph who are behind New Haven Taste of China and Steamed II. I was skeptical about this cooking but staff showed us the ropes and the broths we ordered which were delicious, then we mixed in our favorite ingredient to cook in the pot. We ordered a basket of fresh veggies including greens, cabbage, mushrooms, radish and more. Basket was beautiful and was so healthy. Next time I will add in tofu or bean curd. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional, offering us a tray of spices and add ons. We were so happy to see about the "soft opening" in the Register. But word is out and this place will soon be a destination for this wanting authentic Hot Pot.

Yelp
I was searching for HotPot places near Yale, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that a new place had opened up around Hillhouse... I decided to try it out and oh my god this is probably one of the best hot pot places I've tried, and this is coming from someone who's eaten frequently at Haidilao! The service was absolutely wonderful, the portions were very fairly priced, and the broths were of wonderful flavor. The music and decor of the place is also very traditionally Chinese, which was highly appreciated by me and my friends. I highly recommend!!

Yelp
Jin Fu Hot Pot is a hidden treasure in New Haven! The food was splendid and the staff were all very kind and attentive. The environment of this amazing restaurant was calm and evoked a warm feeling of homeliness. I am definitely coming back another time!

Yelp
Excellent spicy beef broth and wonderful ingredients including wood ear mushrooms, sliced beef, and hot pot noodles. Great service and a wonderful dining atmosphere.

Yelp
The food is overall decent. I got the spicy soup base, lamb, black beef tripe, and a veggie combo. The soup base tasted good my first sip and became more flavorful over time. To echo another review, I think the lamb is unsatisfactory, since it feels frozen and defrosted. The beef tripe and veggie combo were both decent and tasted how they should be. I was delighted by the ambiance. In contrast to other hotpot restaurants that played relatively loud pop music, Jin Fu played slow instrumental music, which made my experience relaxing. The service was good and the servers spoke very politely. However, I just could not understand why the sauces were in a cart and distributed somewhat at the servers' discretion instead of in an all-you-can-eat style like other restaurants. As for the price, it is on the pricy end especially given the location and the general quality of food. It is, though, the only hotpot restaurant that's within walkable distance in New Haven.

Yelp
Food is freshly prepared, service is good. The surrounding is beautiful, music is soothing.
