The Best Boba in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley | Eater LA

"This tiny upscale shop fits just seven people and is best known for its organic beauty oolong milk tea. Jin uses only organic tea leaves from certified farms in Taiwan that use responsible farming practices. The shop serves oolong cold brew tea, organic specialty teas, and organic milk tea with toppings like herbal jelly, brown sugar pearls, and tofu pudding. Jin’s boba is kept warm and soaked in brown sugar, which gives drinks a caramel-like taste." - Kristie Hang

Jin Tea Shop offers a myriad selection of tea fruit drinks and milk teas. The clear bottle of cold drink is a beautiful presentation; alas these drinks are not customizable and can be too sweet

Google
A clean, minimalist aesthetic and a nicely curated organic tea menu that feels a bit more elevated than your standard boba spot. That said, everything I tried leaned too sweet, or too bitter, which is weird, even after adjusting the sugar level. I couldn’t quite land on a drink that felt balanced. There’s no seating—indoors or out—so be prepared to take your tea to go. Luckily, Central Park is just a short stroll away if you want somewhere nearby to sit and sip. Limited parking on the street, but there’s a structure close by that’s affordable, just $1 for the first two hours and a couple bucks an hour after that.

I really liked this place. Their drinks are very good. However, the fact that they force the client to buy certain drink in toxic plastic bottles is unethical and unhealthy. I even asked to place the drink on a cup instead of the toxic bottle bcuz I am a cancer survivor who can't drink in plastic, which I explain to the unhelpful worker, they still did not care. They claimed that their store regulation did not allow them to placed it in a cup, yet if I paid for the cup then the regulations were nonexistent. So DUMB! No COMPASSION Very INCENTIVE, and UNPROFESSIONAL. Also, the girl preparing the drinks today at 3:30pm (a skinny girl), has a really bad attitude! No people skills. Will not shop here again!!

Google
I like this place because they have chrysanthemum, and I got the brown sugar boba milk drink before, but the flavors are just not there. Even with standard sweetness, everything tastes bland and watery. Also, when I paid with cash, the lady working there took out a marker to ensure I was not using a counterfeit bill. I didn't feel really welcome after that; I'm not the type to utilize fake money and never have.

Google
This place’s tea quality was phenomenal. I got one of the signature drinks, you get a cup that’s reusable too, and if you want topping they can give it on the side because there is no customization with the signature drinks. The boba was QQ and hot!

Google
Ooh try number ten if you like tofu and are adventurous! I don’t like my drink to be too sweet so I got 50% sweetness but it was still sweet enough. I never had a bad option here whether it’s milk tea, fruity blend or healthy unsweetened herb teas. Highly recommend!

Google
Small tea shop in Pasadena! Their tea are definitely high quality and you can taste it! Price is a bit higher.. but occasionally is okay for me. I got the grapefruit oolong tea and a winter melon drink. Their drinks aren’t sweet like the other tea shops. It doesn’t take away the authentic tea flavor which I love! Their menu is pretty big so you have lots of options. I want to come back to try their desserts. Parking is a bit hard to find especially after lunch hours.. there’s now a lot of outdoor dining so parking is now way limited.

I was in the area looking to go to a different boba place, but Jin Tea Shop was suggested to me on instagram so I changed my destination! Super glad I did. I ordered the organic egg puffle with boba, the butterfly pea flower lemonade, and sunny honey. Everything was amazing, especially the egg puffle! I've had a great variety of similar style egg waffles from different stores, and I have to say this one takes the crown. The waffle batter itself is not too sweet so it balances well with the brown sugar boba inside. Not to mention, the boba inside was still chewy despite being heated! I was pleasantly surprised as it's hard to include boba in desserts while keeping the chewiness and consistency. They did an amazing job. I didn't get the chance to try any of their oolong tea drinks but their chrysanthemum tea in the sunny honey drink was legit. The butterfly lemonade was yummy as well! I'm definitely coming back and can't wait to try other menus.

Yelp
Jin Tea is one of my go to spots for boba! I always end up ordering their Roasted Oolong Milk Tea or their Oriental Beaty Milk Tea. You really can't go wrong with either. I love that you can actually taste the fragrant tea flavor in the drink. Their boba is usually also made really well. When you go, don't forget to ask for a stamp card! ** I think the owner of Boiling Point also owns Jin Tea, as you can actually order Jin Tea while eating at Boiling Point next door.

Yelp
In need of a cold drink to beat the summer heat, I headed to Jin Tea Shop. I ordered the popular Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea (milk tea version-- it comes with dairy-free creamer as default), 50% sugar and 50% ice. Total came out to about $7, which isn't too bad; I've paid more for milk tea before, so it was all right. Service was nice and helped me decide what to order. Interesting name aside ("Oriental Beauty?"), the milk tea was really good: super-strong and fragrant tea flavor, which I love and expect out of my milk teas. It was a tad on the sweet side, which really coated my mouth, so maybe I would try for 25% next time. Could've even added a bit more ice, as it was so hot outside! Jin Tea is a tiny store with no seating inside, so it's definitely a grab-and-go kind of place. With the billions of tea shops all over Los Angeles, I think Jin Tea is up there: I would drive all the way back to have it again!

Yelp
In the heart of Old Town Pasadena, tucked discreetly between Boiling Point and Color Me Mine, lies Jin Tea. Partially obscured by a broad tree, this small tea shop often escapes the notice of passersby until its interior lights shine brightly at night, casting a warm glow that invites curiosity. I've frequented Jin Tea for years, always drawn back by the allure of their Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk Tea. The familiar taste, always ordered at 75% sweetness with less ice, is a testament to their consistent quality. No other tea shop's milk tea quite matches the distinct, high-quality flavor that Jin Tea offers. As I stepped outside with my milk tea, I found a peaceful spot under some shade and while sipping the rich, flavorful drink, I was reminded of why this little tea shop holds a special place in my heart. For its unwavering quality, friendly service, and the cozy charm it offers, Jin Tea is a spot I will continue to visit.

Yelp
The tea served as one of the combo meals at Boiling Point was coming from Jin Tea, they're belonged to the boiling point company. This is an interesting tea shop that selling not only boba drinks but also some other tea products. Their tea is unique and organic.

Yelp
There seems to be a boba or beverage place every corner you turn in Pasadena, so the competition is stiff. I've been meaning to try out Jin Tea Shop (not to be confused with Jin Tea House, lol) and it happened to be nearby and open when I was attending an event close by. The tea shop itself has a more sophisticated, elegant look to it compared to other boba places. Even though they're also under the Boiling Point franchise (had no idea until I went to double check). You can even purchase packets of their tea leaves here as well & they tout that they are all organic as well. Depending on what you order too, you can get your drink in a fancy plastic bottle that'll showcase the visual aesthetics of your drinks quite well. I got the: 1) Day & Night Milk Tea: -It's made with activated charcoal so if you're on specific medications, keep this in mind! -So it's activated charcoal, organic milk, oriental oolong tea, and brown sugar. -It creates a white black gradient (like day and night) and is very aesthetically pleasing, when mixed, it's just brown lol. -Not bad, just tastes like a brown sugar oolong milk tea if anything. 2) Signature Organic Milk 1: -It's caffeine free since it's just milk. It comes with yummy toppings in it such as organic tofu pudding, egg pudding, and brown sugar boba. -Very silky and simple dessert drink, not bad. Decent boba place overall.

Yelp
jin has delicious strong flavored tea which is what I look for in milk teas. Tried 2 oolong milk teas, oriental beauty and high mountain, and both were good at my go to 75% sweet! Workers were helpful with answering my questions for the differences between their multiple oolong tea options. No seating inside and the drinks are on the pricier side but for the good quality. This shop is just off of colorado blvd in old town Pasadena so it's mostly paid parking only in the nearby structures.

Yelp
Jin tea shop is definitely a spot I do check out often. My go to order is the oriental beauty milk tea. I have lately been ordering it with zero sugar and it's still really good! I love the grapefruit and passion fruit teas as well! I kinda wish they had clear cups so that I could see the drink, but it makes sense from a minimal plastic perspective to limit the consumption. So I do appreciate that. Overall drinks are great and they have friendly staff.

Yelp
Jin Tea Shop is located in downtown Pasadena. The inside decor is very modern and clean, which does not match the surrounding outside area. Staff took like 5-10 minutes to realize we were in the shop. We came in and no one was upfront so we waited until they noticed. After taking our order, it didn't take long to get started on the order. Visually the teas are beautiful. I only took pictures of 2 but we ordered 6 drinks and they were all ok, nothing I'm eager to come back for. What I do like was how tall the glasses were. Tea shops usually put more ice than liquid and you run out quickly. That was not the case here. Parking was scarce. We parked pretty far and walked over. I don't think I'll be back, simply because of the location and how difficult it was to access parking. But if I'm already in the area on foot and thirsty, I might give them another go. Tough to give more than 2 stars at this time.

Yelp
I love this boba shop for their cute bottles and snacks! So handy yet delicious. Highlights of the menu: 1. Day & night milk tea 2. Fluffy egg puffs - filled with cheese Street parking is available since this shop is in Pasadena downtown.

Yelp
they have the softest Boba that I've ever taste. Located next to boiling point I will get them for dessert and they are pretty consistent with the taste and boba quality. Sometimes the drink take too long because it depends on how many staff are there, but they move pretty slow.. They are also selling couple stuff that is tea related, and you can always taste the tea in the drinks. however, the price is higher than other boba places and it's normal since they are located in old pas. Vibe is pretty chill, but I recommend to place an order beforehand.
google avatar

Yelp
I've only ever found consistent disappointment from both the milk and fruit teas here. I've gone back more than I should because they are a part of Boiling Point and are on the BP menu. The milk teas are really really watered down and bland, I've tried with 50% sweet and 100%, normal and less ice, still all very bland. Perhaps the worst experience I had was with the High Mountain Oolong w/ Passionfruit. There was virtually zero tea flavor and the passionfruit was extremely sour. After four visits here, I can confidently NOT recommend it at all.

Yelp
Move over, boba shops, because Jin Tea Shop in Pasadena is taking tea to the next level with their enchanting and artisan tea creations! My friend and I got the Love Potion speciality drink and a Artisan High Mountain Green Tea on a cold day. All I can really say is, I want more! They make the tea flavor really shine here, as it should in tea shops. I tasted the fragrant tea flavor on the first sip and it made me spellbound! Talk about love at first sip. All I needed to do was sip, relax, and feel the zen flow through me! If I haven't convinced you already to give Jin Tea Shop a try, gather round for the cutest and most adorable sweet treat ever, Jin Tea Shop's 'puffle.' If you ever had Hong Kong egg waffles before, their 'puffle' is like those little puffy waffle shapes you'll find on that waffle but in stick form. It's a crispy cloud of happiness, and I got mine stuffed with red bean goodness. It was such a delight to eat and reminded me so much of the Hong Kong egg waffles. Needless to say, Jin Tea Shop officially stole my tea-loving heart and taste buds. Green Street in Pasadena is where I associate 'the best tea I've ever had' now. Jin Tea Shop is where tea really shines and where you should be, too, to give it a try. Sip sip hooray!

Yelp
Jin Tea is such a gem of a boba shop. It's small, so there's not much seating available. Their menu is extensive and detailed, but has the basics. I got the wintermelon milk tea and a regular milk tea for my husband. They were such incredible qualify - the flavors are rich and robust. You can tell that the tea is brewed fresh. I'm so happy we found this spot because it's been almost 2 months since we first went here and I'm still craving the wintermelon milk tea. I wish I didn't love so far from the shop, but I will definitely be coming here the next time I'm in the area! Jin Tea is truly a special boba shop, and I hope they expand to more western parts of LA because we need more high quality tea shops like these. Parking is tough, but you can look for a metered spot on the street. They accept credit card and Apple Pay.

Yelp
Delicious Tea Shop! Not really a place to come to chill out over some conversation since there isn't much seating. Just order and go. I loved the oolong milk tea with 50% sweet. What's great is that you can order by jugs. Probably good for 5-10 depending on how thirsty they area. You just have to order ahead of time to make sure it's ready. We were quoted about 1.5 hours for three jugs

Yelp
I've frequented JIN Tea shop on Green Street in Pasadena for years, and it never fails to impress! The tea bottles are not only visually stunning but also reusable, adding a charming touch to the experience. Their tea presentations are beautifully adorned with colorful flowers and offer authentic flavors with just the right hint of sweetness and milk, if desired. Unlike typical bubble tea places, the focus here is solely on the quality of the tea itself, which I truly appreciate. I've tried numerous drinks like the matcha latte, love potion, butterfly pea flower lemonade, oriental beauty oolong, etc all of which have been delightful. Although primarily serving cold beverages, they specialize in brewed, authentic loose leaf teas with a modern twist. Customer service is good, no complaints! If you're a tea enthusiast or simply enjoy quality beverages, I highly recommend giving JIN Tea shop a try!

Yelp
#90 in my Teaholic Diaries. The journey continues! I've seen Jin pop up on my feed here and there over the years, but given the high price tags I was never inclined to stop by until now. Recently I was in the area and really wanted some tea before heading out, so I figured it was worth a shot. That first time I dropped by I tried their Day and Night milk tea, which is their oriental beauty oolong tea with milk, activated charcoal, and brown sugar. Their beauty oolong tea is an oolong with a honey-like sweetness, mellow fruity aroma, and medium roast level. The tea base meshed well with the brown sugar and activated charcoal. The drink was very natural tasting with a strong tea base, different from your typical milk-and-sugar tea drinks. I did like it, but it was a bit steep at $7.55 for a milk tea. I went back to Jin two more times to try some of the other teas. I was not a fan of the matcha brown sugar, which tasted more like milk than matcha or brown sugar. I also tried their beauty oolong tea by itself and without the added milk, charcoal, and brown sugar it wasn't nearly as impressive. In sum, their drinks were a hit or a miss for me. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Yelp
Super overpriced and drink was just okay. You can take home the cup if you pay a little extra but it's made out of really flimsy plastic. I tried their lemonade butterfly pea drink and while it was gorgeous it tasted super mid. Wouldn't go back. There are better places around the area.

Yelp
I used to come here every Friday after gym with a bunch of my girlfriends. Now I bring my boyfriend every now and then for item number 11. It's melon tea with organic milk plus brown sugar pearls. All these years, the drink still tastes the same and lovely. The melon tea tastes fresh and not too artificial while the milk doesn't overpower the tea. The boba is such a nice touch to add the sweetness. We almost get this drink weekly. The establishment is right next to Boiling Point, and I think it's own by the same group so we sometimes have dinner at boiling point and order the drinks. The service is efficient and fast. I rarely wait more than 5 min for my drinks. One thing to note is that it's impossible to find street parking. Also, for some reason, there is always VERY strong bleach smell at the store which can be quite disturbing. I think it would turn away lots of first-time customers. Abut once you tried the drink, you are likely to come back, so always get a stamp card.
google avatar

Jeremie A.

Yelp
The storefront is along the street, which requires you to spend a bit of time searching for street parking but it wasn't too difficult finding parking. The storefront was small but cute and the workers were very helpful and patient with any questions we had about their drinks. I ordered the Day and Night, which is a milk tea with charcoal. The cups are unique and the drink was unique, but I didn't think it tasted any better or any different than a milk tea with or without charcoal (minus the upcharge in cost). The wait for our drinks didn't take too long but there also isn't any space or area to sit down so you basically have to take your drink to go. The vibe was mostly to go orders based on how the space was set up. Otherwise, I thought their drinks weren't bad but they were worth a try. I'd consider coming back another time to try something else but it's definitely on the pricier side.

Yelp
YUMMY!!!!! This place has one of the best milk teas I have had EVER. I got the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea 50% sweet. I found out my friend came here every week to get a whole gallon to go! The store is clean and small, only downside - no indoor seating! You can order from the app!
google avatar

Joey C.

Yelp
Their tea is always SO refreshing! I try to stop by whenever I'm in town, but I'm willing to drive over half an hour for this place if I needed to :) My favorite is their High Mountain Oolong Milk Tea with boba. If you like a subtle oolong taste, then this drink is perfect for you. Since their tea is pretty strong imo, I suggest going full sweet! Normally, at other places though, I do 50% - 75% sweet. Their pricing is fair as well, especially being in the middle of Pasadena. Parking can be a hassle, but if you don't mind walking, there are garages all over that have a certain amount of time free!

Em K.

Yelp
Came here with the intention of getting boba (my fault), most of their drinks aren't really compatible with boba. Boba isn't included with the drink so add it on, or they'll tell you it has to be on the side. Overall, this is a great place for good quality and taste; come if you want tea or drinks. The ice is great for chewing if that's your sip of tea. Parking is difficult on weekends as this area is popular but there are several public parking lots which are $1 for 2 hours or so.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! It was a refreshing experience with wonderful flavors. I ordered the passion fruit, and it was delicious.

Sarah L.

Yelp
My favorite tea shop--i love the black and white. I don't even live near Pasadena but anytime I'm close i come here
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Best milk tea! Our favorite place. High mountain oolong milk tea half sweet is just 100/10
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
I am in love with this tea shop!! Tea quality is of the utmost top tier quality and the milk drinks are so light and tasty. The interior is clean and minimal, just as I'd expect from a tea shop, only downside - no indoor seating! Parking available on Green St. lot
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
I ordered the high mountain oolong milk tea and it was mediocre. I arrived at 11am, right when they opened so no queue or anything. The shop is pretty small but aesthetically, it looks very zen and cute. I likely wouldn't come back unless I was really craving milk tea and there were no other options.
google avatar

Yelp
Here are my FOUR star FAPS: Food (in this case Drink): Tas-TEA! It was a delicious matcha, brown sugar drink! It wasn't unbelievably the BEST drink in the world, but I would get it again and recommend it! Ambience: The shop wasn't too busy for a Friday afternoon. Nice and clean with free samples of a berry drink! The space was small, so I can imagine when it gets busy, some people may have to stand outside. Parking: There is the Park and Walk Schoolhouse Garage right across the corner! It is $1.00 for two hours. I'm unsure what the prices are after two hours. There is ample street parking around too! Service: GREAT! My sad, clumsy story was that I was right outside the shop and dropped the bottle. The entire top of the plastic bottle cracked, so I went back to the shop, and they kindly poured my drink in a regular cup.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
I didn't get boba or any other toppings so I can't speak to those, but I'd recommend the high mountain grapefruit oolong tea -- the fruit tea flavor is pretty strong. I usually get 75% sugar, probably could've gone with 50% sugar here. I'd come back, but for what it is, I think this place is a bit pricey.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Great litte shop for drinks but parking really stinks. Theres street parking and the green street lot but its not a roll up convenience. Especially since this is not a sit down location. its a grab and go. So parking is not conducive to this setup. The drinks are great. i liked that she redirected me to what the green tea oolong tea was like and i loved the flavor. Even at 25% you can really taste the tea. I really wanted to try the specialty drinks but they dont allow customizations on sweetness. I dont like super sweet drinks so I really I also got the red bean puff! It was 7 large balls for $4.50 so such a great snack! Not too sweet!
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
This is one of my go to boba spots in LA county! The oriental beauty milk tea is hands down the best here. It has a deep tea flavor, but it isn't too overwhelming. It's a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else, which is why I keep coming back. I get it with less sugar and it tastes just as good (though my friends prefer normal sugar to less for this drink). It is on the pricey side--about $7 for a regular size and no boba, but nowadays boba is usually this price. The jug is around $20 something or maybe around $30, but it's definitely a good deal if you're planning to have friends over. It's street parking and there's nowhere to sit inside.
google avatar

Elaria W.

Yelp
Not really my cup of tea (ha)! To start, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I don't need people working to fawn over me, but we asked a couple questions and got blank stares in return/an uninspired answer about the tea. But most importantly, the flavor just wasn't anything spectacular. I thought from ads that this place would have a strong tea flavor overall, but my drink pretty much tasted like water. My friends and I got different drinks and nothing made a lasting impression at all. The cheapy plastic bottle one of the pure teas came in was also a letdown. The flavors tied with the pricing left a lot to be desired. Definitely not a place I'd go out of my way to revisit.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best milk tea in SoCal, if we're talking about milk tea with strong tea taste. We were in Pasadena running some errands and I actually found this place while Yelping for spots in San Gabriel. I decided on Jin because a lot of the places in San Gabriel seemed to blend together. I'm SO GLAD (or maybe mad? keep reading) I picked Jin. Parking is basically street parking. It's next to Boiling Point and across from 85 degrees, close to a corner. I suggest you order online in advance and pick up if you can due to the parking situation. The shop is small, but service was fast. I ordered a mountain oolong and the SO ordered an oriental beauty oolong. Both teas were super smooth and had such fragrant tea flavor - I really was surprised at how good it was with my first sip. It's similar to Orobae in OC, but honestly I think Jin's is a level above Orobae AND there's no insane line for it. I'm kind of mad that I found such a good place in Pasadena when I live in OC...so PLEASE consider opening a new location closer to or in OC! Until then, I need to figure out more excuses to get up to Pasadena!

Yelp
Don't bother coming here. Go down the street and get boba from Prolece Tea instead. At least that Boba shop doesn't come with a side of shit service. I mean, does this store just hire anyone who walks through the door? It seems like poor customer service is an essential quality when working here. I never knew anyone could get this low tier of service in a Boba shop, but this chick with a short, pixie hair cut and glasses managed to surprise me(friend's receipt says lily but name tag is Emma? I think). Putting the person with no customer skills at the forefront of your business in the cashier position is probably the worst business decision anyone can make. So here is the situation(2/8/2024 @ 10pm): I walk in with the intention of ordering a regular Boba milk tea. So I simply asked what the equivalent of that would be in this store, because I didn't see 'Boba milk tea' like I see in other stores, or perhaps overlooked it. Every Boba shop has always able to point out to an equivalent drink so I was already imagining a similar scenario. She pauses and then gestures over to the menu saying there are like 4 different tea flavors. I looked at it and said I wasn't looking for the different flavors, but ask again what a regular Boba milk tea from other stores would be here. I probably offended her, but it's like she heard the most outrageous thing ever. She pauses again, except this time she let's out an obvious and audible sigh... Then does the same thing! Gestures her hand to the menu and says the same script! She is actually a robot! She clearly doesn't want to sell me any drinks, so I just told her I don't want anything anymore. I went down the street to a different Boba shop instead. I used to come here but this experience alone is more than enough of a deterrent to never come back. You know what, I'm convinced that she must be the owner of Prolece Tea. She gets hired at Jin Tea, provide doggo tier service, and drive customers to a nearby competitor, aka her own store. Classic. PS: hire some workers with people skills

Yelp
Beautiful artisan tea! Jin Tea Shop sources their tea leaves from Taiwan and their process of making tea is beautifully authentic, and definitely reflects in the quality of their tea. If you are okay with spending more money on tea, I promise you this is THE place! TEA: Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk Tea (5/5): This has to be one of the best tasting oolong I have tried. The milk tea is high quality as well! Definitely give this a try! Love Potion (5/5): Not only is this drink so aesthetically pleasing, but it is so tasty. The butterfly pea flower tea and passionfruit juice goes so well together SERVICE: The workers warmly greeted us and had no problems answering questions!

Yelp
Roasted oolong milk tea 5/5 My boyfriend got this with 100% sweetness and he said it was the best milk tea he has ever had. The tea flavor was distinct and the boba texture was on point. High mountain oolong milk tea 5/5 Recommend this if you prefer to have a strong tea flavor in your milk tea. I got it with 50% sweetness and it was perfect for me. Service 3/5 It will be great if there's an explanation on the menu on what's the difference between all the different oolong tea this place offers. I asked the staff for an explanation since it was my first time here and he gave me an attitude. Price 4/5 It's definitely on the expensive side for milk tea. I am not complaining just because I am not from the area and I won't be able to have it often. The tea did tasted a lot better than other milk tea spots so I don't mind paying a bit extra for something that's better.

Yelp
Was walking around and got attracted by the color of the drink so we went it to grab something. We got love potion and sunny honey. Love potion was a bit too sour for my friend but the sunny honey was great. Love how colorful and pretty the drink it however was disappointed how small the bottle was! I think it's smaller than the small size at other places! Idk personally, if you're Thirsty 1 drink won't be enough... maybe 3 or 4?

Yelp
Jin Tea Shop has a variety of teas, and I had the pleasure to try a childhood favorite: Ginger Milk Tea. Although I wanted it at half sweetness, this drink came premade and was very sweet. Ordering a hot drink, I also requested that I get a second cup so I could carry it. However, they assured me that a little plastic wrap-around would be good enough. They gave me two more, and I expressed discomfort since it made the drink wobbly to hold. You can see the gaps in the photos... quite unsafe for both holding and driving. I spent a bit of time sipping at the drink, and eventually I spilled some by accident because of how uneven the "three plastic" contraption that the staff member made for me was. This issue could've been easily resolved with a second cup or better "hot hands" substitute. I am surprised they used a plastic-like material since plastics transfer heat so well...

Yelp
Heard a lot about this place and since we were close by, we decided to give a try. We ordered their signature organically milk #1 and #2 with 30% sweetness. It taste like soy milk to us. Maybe we've order the wrong thing. But the honey boba is the bomb, it is very chewy and flavorful. I would definitely go back and give it another try.

Yelp
Great tea for the price. I got the high mountain oolong tea with less ice and I quite enjoyed it. It's a small shop and pretty cute inside. The service was great and were able to answer any of our questions. I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
After a very filling Thanksgiving lunch, my family took a stroll through Pasadena to burn off the excess calories. One of the few stores we found open was Jin Tea shop, and what a fantastic find this was. I needed to end my meal on a sweet note, that didn't involve pie, and this store had these ball-looking pastries on a stick, which essentially tasted like pancake bites. They were light, fluffy, and a perfect end coup de grace to turkey heaven. We also decided to try some of their specialty teas. I opted for an iced oolong milk tea, my daughter got some oolong beauty'm tea, and the wife got one of the fancy made-to-order bottle teas that look like something you'd find on the set of Alice in Wonderland. Perfect ending to out day, and I highly recommend a visit if you haven't been.

Yelp
It's a tad bit expensive but it's really good. Their specialties come in bottles that are so cute and colorful. The staff members are friendly and service was quick. The store is a little small so there's no real space to sit. And parking is kind of hard because it's in Pasadena. But did I mention how cute the bottles were?

Yelp
High quality tea and very worth what you're paying for. Got the oriental beauty oolong milk tea at 50% sweetness and it was delicious. Parking is hard, you might have to walk a bit. But it's worth it! They also have samples so you can taste how great their tea is.

Yelp
Wow, the high mountain oolong tea was fantastic. It is available hot or iced, and I think hot is the way to go. I ordered 0% sweetness and the flavor was rich and bold enough to stand on its own. You really don't need the sweetener to appreciate the flavor. The matcha latte was also surprisingly good. It is a signature item, meaning it cannot be customized, aside from a choice of sugar (white or brown). The standard sweetness with brown sugar was actually not that bad. And the drink served in a cute plastic bottle and matching brown paper bag. Price is on the high side ~$7 but I think it was worth it. Another small form factor shop. Nowhere to sit inside, and the restrooms are inside the restaurant next door. Parking is available across the street in "Schoolhouse" public lot. Very cheap only $1 for 2 hours.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the Pasadena area, I always try to stop by here because it's one of my favorite milk tea places. I also always order here when I'm dining next door at Boiling Pot. I love that it's not your usual boba place that has a ton of milk tea flavors, it truly is quality loose leaf tea. It is a little pricier than other places. A pack of their boxed tea sachets for 10 is $22. My go to drink is the oriental beauty oolong milk tea with grass jelly. This place doesn't have a dining area or even seats. You just order inside and wait for your drink. It's a pick up order type of situation. Street parking only and no bathrooms but you can go next door to Boiling Point. Ambiance is average, music plays in the background. Service is quick and they also offer stamp cards.

Yelp
If you're looking for specialized tea, this is the place to go. They have a wide selection of various tea in a very nice bottle that I was able to use again. I tired the butterfly pea lemonade and it was really good. It was a little sweet for me but I'm also a 30% sugar kind of girl. I just fixed it by add ice cubes to it. The other no sugar teas are also very good and refreshing. Definitely worth a try and I have many more to try out.

Yelp
Jin Tea shop is a pretty good boba spot. It is on the pricier side. I got the party jug-- oriental milk tea with boba and it was about $30. I was a little disappointed with the boba serving size. I got this delivered so I thought it would match the jug serving, but it was just a teeny tiny portion made for 1 person served in a small size sauce container. The boba itself is very good and I would recommend it. It's soft and chewy cooked perfectly. I just wish it came with more since the jug served about 6 people and the boba it came with only served 1.

Yelp
The boba tea was great but the customer service was NOT!! The lady with the super super short black hair working the counter I am not sure what their name was (sorry if am using the wrong pronouns) was insanely rude to me and my friends. While ordering it felt like I was being yelled at due to the aggressiveness tone and made me feel sorry for ordering boba! It seemed as if they didn't even wanna work there either the way they didn't explain the menu to me when asked and scoffed in my face. Not mad but def think they should work on this because the boba is not bad at all I just can't stand rude customer service haha

Yelp
Cute little shop. I ordered online and then went to wait to get my drink. I was the only one in there and they were busy chatting and working on my order. They did get my order wrong. I wanted pudding in my drink but I guess cause 2/4 other drinks had pearls they just gave them all pearls.. I even looked on my cup and it says pudding but guess it was ignored. By the time we drove away and gave it to our friends I realized mine didn't have it and it was too late. So try your drinks before you leave‍. Drink was ok. I'd be back to try other oolong and maybe puddin someday

Yelp
This is my favorite boba place in Pasadena, and I've tried most of them. Yes, it is certainly one of the most expensive ones, but I think it is worth it. Their tea flavor is simply the best. It is not overly sweet and has a much richer flavor than the syrup pumps you get elsewhere. I usually get the high mountain tea, but it is worth trying the range of their milk teas once. The boba place is very small and sadly they took away the little seating that they had. Not a good place if you need to sit down or want a place to cool off. Their service is always fast and I like the feel of their compostable packaging/straws.
