The 38 Best Restaurants in Calgary, Canada | Eater

"Top Chef Canada finalist Jinhee Lee has always been celebrated as one of Calgary’s most talented chefs, so the buzz was strong when she opened her very own eatery in 2020. Jinbar centers around Korean pizza, Korean fried chicken, and cocktails, all offered in a cool, eclectic dining room. The Fried Buldak is a fiery cheese pizza with layers of mozzarella, Korean barbecue spices, pickled jalapenos, and green onions. A popular pizza topping in South Korea, corn stars in the Sweet Corns & Honey Butter Chip pie alongside jalapenos, Parmesan, mozzarella, and parsley on a base of alfredo sauce, all surrounded by a crust garnished with house potato chips lightly tossed in honey sauce. "One of the standout Calgary restaurants to open last year is Jin Bar, a Japanese-style fried chicken and pizza joint by chef Jinhee Lee, a graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and winner of the Canadian Gold Medal Plates culinary competition."

One word; Fabulous! This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We were there with seven people for a 40th birthday party and we shared 13 different dishes. Everything was fantastic. My favorites were the Roasted Cauliflower in a curry reduction and the Spring rolls. Every dish was a hit. We also had Deep fried mushrooms, Honey Butter chips, Jinbar Fried chicken, Beef Bulgogi Pizza, Beef Tartar, Flame Roll sushi, Pork dumplings, Brussel Sprouts, Ahi Tuna crudo and Confirm Garlic Parmesan fries. The restaurant was charming and cozy. I've included pictures of all of the food. Throw me a heart or two! ❤️

What an absolute joy hosting our annual Christmas party here. From the moment we arrived, the energy was contagious and the care was unmistakable. Huge kudos to Amane (GM), Hyungjae (Chef), Brooke (our wonderful server), and the rest of the incredible team who made the night unforgettable. The 10 course meal was OUTSTANDING! The staff’s happiness set the tone and you could feel it in every interaction. We laughed, we ate, we drank, and yes… we danced. The music was perfectly curated, the food was exceptional, and the cocktails were truly next-level. Service wasn’t just great, it was thoughtful, warm, and above and beyond in every way. It felt less like a venue and more like a place where memories are made. The kind of night that leaves you smiling long after it ends. We’ll be talking about this one for a long time. Thank you JinBAR team, memories were indeed made!

A lovely, well appointed Korean fusion restaurant in Bridgeland. We went for a dinner with friends, it was easy to make a reservation and the restaurant filled up as the evening went on. We enjoyed the Korean fried chicken, mushroom pizza, watermelon salad and dumplings. My 16 y/o fried chicken aficionado son declared it was the second best fried chicken he’s ever had; and we live in Texas! That is saying a lot since he had it leftover after burning it slightly in the toaster oven. I imagine if he’d been invited it would have been top of his list. The pizza was yummy and the watermelon salad noteworthy. The dumplings were a minor disappointment, our table found them too crispy outside but still too doughy inside. We opted out of dessert. The service was attentive and quick. Cocktails were enjoyable and I think next time I’d like to enjoy reverse happy hour. We found parking easily on the street out front

Came here for dinner with a friend and had a wonderful experience. The place has a great vibe and the service was excellent. We ordered a few dishes to share, starting with the Kimbap, it was decent, though a bit underwhelming for me. The Garlic Parmesan Fries, however, were my absolute favorite: perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, and paired with a delicious sauce. We also tried the Salt and Pepper Mushroom, which was tasty and had a nice tempura-style batter. The highlight was definitely the Honey Garlic Butter Fried Chicken, so flavorful and satisfying. Overall, my friend and I left very happy and would absolutely recommend this spot!

Our first time at Jinbar and certainly not our last! The food was divine, the happy hour deals were amazing, the atmosphere is so cozy, and the service was impeccable. Cannot wait to make this a regular stop!

@Jin Bar everything is piping hot from the kitchen, fried to perfection low grease but very crispy. We have wings, chicken skin, pork belly bao, egg plant and half/half sweet corn bolgogi pizza! Strong flavours a large collection of booze from asia! Ya get what ya pay for here😃

We had brunch today to celebrate Mother's Day. They ushered us in even though it was 15 minutes early before opening. The staff were courteous and friendly and they made us feel very welcomed. The food was delicious. We had the smoked pork belly eggs benny, iceberg salad and the chicken cutlet croffle. We'll ask for some maple syrup next time for the waffles☺️ We were so pleased with our selections. They also served good coffee.

Came here on a Sunday with my family and we had some issues: 1.) We ordered 2 hot waters but the waiter insisted that the restaurant had limited hot water, and hot water is only used for their food and drinks. We had to order 2 Teas without the tea bags at 4.50 each in order to have hot water. First time ever we have ever been denied hot water at any establishment. 2.) There was also BOGO Sushi rolls on sunday, we were interested in trying the Flame Rolls (4Pc) and we wanted another order since there was BOGO to share for the table. The waiter insisted that everyone at the table (7 people) had to order a beverage in order to receive one order of BOGO rolls. We had already ordered 2 "Teas" and 2 Beers. What if we said we were ordering separately and the one person who ordered a beverage, also ordered the roll - would the whole table still need to order a beverage for each person? This policy was likely interpreted wrong by the waiter and we decided not to order the rolls. Overall these two factors negatively affected the experience we had at the restaurant. Other than that, the food was decent, but items are on the sweeter side and food was more on the soggy rather than crispy side. We ordered: - Tuna Crudo, Brussel Sprouts, Dumplings, Age Dashi Tofu, Calmari, Pork belly buns, Fried chicken, Bulgogi Pizza.
