Sushi nigiri 2 pieces per serve, made and served to order. had 11 dishes for ¥5,500 for 2 people - very reasonably priced. good quality fish, trained sushi chefs, Great value for the quality of food served. Good variety of well-priced cooked dishes though we didn’t try this time. Looked good though. There is English menu.

Google
Found this little sushi place to grab take out. They have set menus but you can still order from their main menu. Fantastic friendly staff with delicious and fresh sushi. I would definitely go back again.

Google
The sashimi and sushi are amazing! It is probably the best I have ever had. The salmon and tuna are fatty and delicious. The boiled egg is really good. The jasmine iced tea is also light and flavorful. They also have a take out menu with a nice selection of sets to take out. The atmosphere is very Japanese. You walk in the restaurant and they start screaming really loud. They also have people eating at the bar. I recommend this place.

Google
A must-visit for sushi lovers in Osaka! This cozy, intimate restaurant serves incredibly fresh sushi, sashimi, and nigiri, all prepared right in front of you by skilled chefs and the quality is amazing for the price. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Google
Great spot for a quick and affordable sushi lunch. Fresh, tasty, and a solid value for the price. Perfect if you’re looking for something good without breaking the bank.

Google
Absolutely worth the wait! The food is amazing, complemented by excellent service. They thoughtfully provide English and Japanese menus with photos for visitors. The highly recommended dishes are the Salmon Saikyo Yaki and Chawanmushi. The salmon was incredibly tender and perfectly sauced, while the steamed egg was exceptionally soft and fluffy, almost like pudding. My family loved the food so much that we reordered the Clam Korokke and Salmon Saikyo Yaki. Unfortunately, the salmon was all sold out on our second round, which just shows how popular it is.

Google
Walked by this place and decided to give it a try. Very local environment inside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tried to communicate in simple English. Ordered their lunch set which is very good value. Got the mixed seafood rice bowl and not only is there a lot of different sashimi, they're also very fresh.

Google
Authentic sushi restaurant. They have English menu. The chefs and waiter speak very little English so better prepare your translator app. Food was great!

Yelp
Great value, friendly and entertaining staff and good quality sushi. We were around the Dontonburi area and felt like having sushi for dinner. The restaurant is a bit small but we were lucky to get seated right away and at the bar, so we were able to see them in action. I loved how the menu was very simple and everything we ordered was good. They even had an English menu, so that helped a lot. If you're looking for good sushi in Osaka, this will not disappoint. Yellowtail, fatty tuna, uni, salmon, grilled salmon 5/5. Highly recommend this sushi spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Sushi was OK, but service was horrible. Probably the worst experience I had since I started my Japan vacation. After being seated we were never greeted or talked to for about 20 minutes while the locals were constantly getting attention. I had to get up to remind them that we exist. After that service was still really slow and had to get up again to ask for the bill. I guess it's a popular spot, but not exactly sure why as the food and service left a lot to be desired.

Yelp
A1 sushi and A1 service. Highly recommend the "highly fatty tuna" as well blood clam nigiri. Pricing was very solid. We arrived during dinner time at 630 and the wait was fairly mild. People started showing up around 7 and ended up having to wait 20-30 minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
This sushi spot was definitely a hit on our trip! Though it is small inside, we happened to come at a good time and did not have to wait to be seated. You can't beat the quality/freshness of the fish and the price point.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. That's all I have to say about this place , can't get enough sushi in Osaka.

Yelp
This is a popular place on Yelp and it was a really solid cheap sushi spot, I basically ate like a king for $50 bucks. Most of the people who work there are older men, but I did appreciate that our waiter spoke English and he had this cool hand held ordering thing that sent our order directly to the chefs. Pro tip: They are closed from 3pm-5pm and they are opened till 4am. The food: Eel butter- This is the most popular item on the menu and holy Moses was it delicious. Highly recommend. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=CPyjeJziYR5y_ilbOZW5cw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Grilled Salmon Seasoning- This was the second most popular item and this as well as awesome, the top two I highly recommend. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=aJX7On27nT23sq0T09CK3g&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Horse Mackerel- This was good. Nice good flavor, the pairing of the scallion and ginger were nice. Yellowtail- Always good and good here. Mantis Shrimp- This looked more interesting than it was, this to me was skippable. Medium Fatty Tuna- The chutoro was good, I enjoyed it. Sea Urchin- The uni was just OK, they put slices of cucumber in it which I thought was kinda weird. Ligament- The menu list this as ligament but it was scallop and damn was this good. Conger- The conger eel is normally one of my fav pieces, the one here was just OK, it was average eel. Great Fatty of Tuna- This is the only piece that was a solo item since every order came with two pieces, this was good though, a solid otoro piece.

Yelp
I don't eat sushi so I'm basing my review off for cooked items that I ate. The food was okay. Nothing special. Long wait. I came with four other people that are sushi lovers and they weren't satisfied with the quality of the fish. I guess somewhat overrated according to them.

Yelp
Come here for cheap sushi. But even cheap sushi can be decent. This place has great value for your money, but that's about it. We had the 900 yen lunch set, which comes with 8 pieces of sushi, and 3 side dishes. Don't bother with the 1200 yen set as it's not any different, just a few more pieces of the same fish.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
This place opens until quite late, conveniently close to shinsaibashi station, friendly service and they serve decent quality sushi set, though the separate uni order was a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Thank god for Yelp because my husband and I were able to find this awesome place! When we arrived - we were seated right away and since we were obviously out of towners, we were given English menus (this was not available most places, but we were happy it was available). The service was very casual, friendly and attentive. We ordered beer and sake to start - we went during lunch and their lunch combinations were such a good deal! We order the Lunch Set w/ 12 pieces of Nigiri comes with a soup - soooo good and only like $15(?) USD. It was unbelievable! In addition we tried: Toro Unagi w/ butter Salmon Belly Eel w/ butter Tuna Sashimi Grilled Tuna Cheek Everything was super fresh (OBVI) and really inexpensive for the amount and quality. Such a great find!

Yelp
Awesomely fresh sushi that is extremely affordable for Japan and not to mention the sushi chef was super cute and funny! He made sure every piece of sushi was consumed in my belly and kept offering more. Note: They have fish cutting ceremonies on Friday around 6:30pm. Be sure to check them up !! Will be back !

Yelp
Alright so I think sushi can be a tough thing to grade at times especially when you start to compare the US to Japan. I had to think about this a bit but the way I view this is that there are plenty of sushi joints in Japan and the ability for a restaurant to dish out quality is more important than the presentation especially when you consider the price points of the restaurant. So had spent a few days in Tokyo and decided to head south to Osaka for a few days to enjoy Hiroshima but also get to go to the Yamazaki Distillery (ugh miss it so much). We were checked in at the St Regis property and was looking for a decent spot for sushi. After a bit of searching, I stumbled upon this place and asked the Regis Butler to make us a reservation. The joint is within walking distance and it is worth the walk as you get to see the various shops/restaurants down the covered walkways. Finally arrived at the joint and it's a pretty no frills place. You walk in and there are at least 4 or 5 sushi chefs behind the counter, one long counter for seating and a few tables within the restaurant for groups to sit and enjoy. The English here is pretty poor so do not expect much if you cant speak any Japanese but pointing at the menus and indicating quantity with fingers should be enough. Ordered a whole ton of nigiri with multiple different cuts of fish. The prices are super reasonable and this joint is definitely a locals joint it feels. The cuts are not clean but honestly the quality is solid enough. This place would be above any just on the street sushi joint in the states so no comparison. The sushi was fresh and there was nothing that tasted frozen or of poor quality. The alcohol flows easily at reasonable prices as well. All in all, a solid joint to grab some no frills sushi at extremely reasonable prices. Take it for just that and you will enjoy it.

Yelp
The duck sushi is outstanding! All fish is fresh and service is fast and great! We came during lunch hour and got our sushi within 2-3 minutes.

Yelp
Wasn't exactly blown away, maybe because we missed their lunch special. My husband and I came in for an early dinner where we sat at the sushi bar and were luckily attended to by the head sushi chef. The menu was simple - 2 pieces of nigiri for various types of fish/seafood per order. My husband and I selected a dozen varieties - the chef timed each order right on point - as soon as we finish one set, the next would be presented almost immediately. As far as the nigiri goes - the fish to rice ratio was simply perfect (3:1) - personal favs were smoked tuna, fresh water eel, and amberjack. Some of the fish however didn't look as fresh as one would expect from a sushi bar - perhaps they had been sitting all day? Nevertheless, every sushi we had was super tasty. Overall - nothing outstanding about the sushi bar experience - in fact it felt a bit generic. Although every sushi was beyond delicious, it was on par to the ones we had at conveyor sushi restaurants. The only difference - much higher cost. I would stick to checking out their conveyor sushi restaurant down the street.

Yelp
Walked to this little gem from kuroman ichiba and there was no regret at all. We were greeted with menus and some hot green tea. From the menu, I decided to pick and choose which sushi pieces to get (each sushi comes in a pair). The fatty tuna was excellent, no need to use much energy to chew since it was soft to the point where it could melt in your mouth. This place does close for preparation from noon til 3 pm. Knocked down one star because people could actually smoke in here! A bit absurd but I guess that's the norm here in Japan. We sat at the far corner at the sushi bar. The staff were friendly and nice. Definitely a nice spot to grab some good quality fish.
google avatar

Sandy T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. English menu available. They have nigiri and maki rolls, didn't see lunch sets. The nigiri is on the expensive size for quality and size. Ordered 9-2 pieces nigiri for 3,990 jpy. Nigiri is on the smaller side here. Service is excellent but I would skip this place. FYI, they do have mantis shrimp nigiri!
google avatar

Yelp
Great price for high quality sushi. Some of the best sushi that I've ever had. If you can't take some second hand smoke, this restaurant might kill you. Bring your own gas mask. If you can take the smoke, get the English menu. Order a sashimi combo and/or sushi from the first page (salmon, butter eel, etc) Tuna, butter eel, octopus, were delightful. We ventured here to eat seafood after a day at the Osaka Aquarium looking at seafood. I was wearing my "fish tank" t-shirt. It was a good day.
google avatar

Rita J.

Yelp
Great sushi restaurant I tried based on yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint me. Although I had hard time understanding the Japanese menu, the staff was friendly and helped me to order different sushi. All the sushi were amazing.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Nothing to rave about here. The salmon wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. The eel with the butter stick was probably their best sushi. The cuts weren't the best often find a little of the parts that should be cut on the outside of the sushi. I've had some great sushi in Ikebukuro (Tokyo prefecture) and also California. This wasn't the best but if your hungry it will suffice. Just don't expect to be blown away because you won't. Def not up to snuff for Japan standards or any sushi lover. But for those who aren't sushi connoisseurs you'll probably enjoy.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Wow. Who knew sushi can be fresh, delicious and cheap?? We each had a 9pc sushi set that came w a miso soup and a egg soup for roughly $5.50! And that includes tax and of course no tip in Japan. Wowsers! How can I go back to eatin sushi in the states. So sad.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
This is standard sushi place. It's good and recommended but... not a "you must try if not your missing out in life kinda place" if your in the area stop by for a quick bite.
google avatar

Diraj G.

Yelp
They have set lunches with salmon and tuna chirashi bowls and sushi trays between 700¥ and 1800¥. If you order beer, expect to pay the table charge of 150¥. The medium fatty tuna sushi pair is 540¥. Open for lunch which is rare in this area. Pretty much everything else is closed.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Salmon: In comparison to America, it's a bit tougher to bite through, but still soft. It has more of a chewy texture, but still tastes fresh. Tuna: Very fresh and soft. Hamachi (Yellow tail): Very fresh and soft Bathroom: Squat Environment: People can smoke. I didn't appreciate that part.
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
Off the beaten path, but the lunch deal is a steal! We paid roughly $8 (at a rate of USDJPY of 111), for a 12 pieces of sushi, plus miso soup and chanwanmushi. So even though it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had - it was the best deal for sushi I've ever had. They have an English menu and the lady at the register is sooo sweet and speaks English as well.
google avatar

Artyom K.

Yelp
Great sushi place, very polite employees, the only downside is that they let guests smoke right next to you while you eating sushi, otherwise delicious!!!!
google avatar

Ak H.

Yelp
We went during lunch, just after they opened. I had the ala carte meal (Unagi bowl, miso soup, some kind of fish salad) the meal was 1200 JPY (10.67 USD). The unagi was the best I've ever had. Melt in your mouth, very tasty, and it was a good portion. The miso soup was also very appetizing, it also came with a small bowl of some kind of tofu.. I am not a tofu eater but I ate the whole bowl since it was that delicious. Service was good, they knew we didn't speak Japanese and tried their best to explain everything to us. We received Hot towels when we were seated. The food was quick (granted we got there before the lunch crowd came in). The only downfall of this place was the beverages. The water had an irony taste to it. The coke they had was one of those tiny small serve cans and it costed 270 JPY (2.40 USD).

Yelp
Stopped in for a late dinner after visiting Shinsaibashi and also to avoid being caught in the rain sans umbrella. I love this place!!!! Coming from Vancouver where good sushi is plentiful, I'm STILL very jelly that this little gem isn't within driving distance to visit 3 (or more) times a week at home! The service from beginning to end was excellent! We sat at the counter and the chef himself served our nigiri to us piece by piece on a banana(?) leaf with strict instructions on how to consume it - ex: "No sauce!" Or "Wasabi only!". Very helpful!! They also indulged us in smiling for a few photos and patiently waited to serve our food as we snapped multiple shots of our meal. I have to say that the fish was very fresh and each piece had a sheen to it that you will not see on a stale slice of fish...Rivals the quality of fish from the stalls at Tsukiji fish market. The medium tuna was our favorite - melt in your mouth goodness. My personal fave was the Ika nigiri - served with a shio leaf and seaweed in between a lightly salted slice of Ika...the ika was so fresh and firm, none of that slimy fishy texture that is commonly found in AYCE sushi or cheaper establishments. It was so good that we couldnt stop eating even though we were totally stuffed! We literally walked out the door still debating if we could each stuff another order of our favorite nigiri into our tummies...thankfully common sense won... ot else we would have been there all night!
google avatar

Tom P.

Yelp
They have an English menu, but when we were there it was all locals, so it should be pretty authentic. All the fish is fresh, you really can't go wrong with any nigiri ordered here. However I have two must-get's: great fatty tuna and grilled salmon. One great fatty tuna is $4 but it's worth it. The draft Kirin on tap is also very refreshing on a hot summer day.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my wife favorite Japanese sushi restaurant. We were here 3 times ok n our last trip. Everything is so fresh and tasty. You have to try the butter unagi.

Maria L.

Yelp
The Yelp reviews that recommend going here for lunch have a great point! The lunch specials at this place are outstanding deals that consist of a ton of food for not much money. Like many before me, I ordered the 900 yen sushi lunch set and left the restaurant feeling 100% full! I didn't love everything in my lunch set but I think that's because I'm not accustomed to certain tastes (like that of the flan/fish dish for instance). The best piece of sushi was hands down the tuna which melted in my mouth. If I was to go back to this place (which I would totally do if I wasn't leaving Osaka soon), then I would probably exclusively order the tuna. The servers and chefs don't speak much English but they definitely make an effort to help you out regardless! Try this place out for some tasty sushi during lunchtime; you'll leave satisfied and without a huge dent in your pocket!
google avatar

C J.

Yelp
Loved it! Delicious sushi, over the top friendly...and after a day of trains and maps...so nice to have an English menu!

Alyssa L.

Yelp
We really wanted to eat here but we came in a group of 7. Even willing to split up any way and the guy abruptly told us to leave because there is no room when there were clearly tables open. However right behind us he allowed MULTIPLE Japanese groups. VERY rude. We love sushi and would've spent a lot of money here but they lost us. Also, we were waiting across the street trying to find some place else and same man who kicked us out comes up to us asking why we are waiting. Seriously?! We told him we are trying to find another place and he blatantly called us a nuisance in Japanese. He thought we were ignorant Americans however we at least know simple Japanese. I really wouldn't understand why this man wouldn't want business from us especially since we are a big group = MORE MONEY Very rude, would not recommend tourists to come here.
google avatar

Ritz D.

Yelp
UNAGI BUTTER. If you like unagi, this is a must try. I would assume adding butter to most meats would made it better but I've never tried butter on unagi let alone sushi in general. We tried different kinds of sushi here and they were all good but the unagi by itself is a reason to come back if we are ever here again. I'm still craving more as we speak... The only downside to the restaurant is that it is smoke friendly so if you are sensitive to the smell, you might to stay away from here. We actually didn't know it was smoke friendly until someone lit one up. I mean, I like to enjoy not only the taste but the scent of food as well and I've never had to deal with smoke while I was eating.
google avatar

Sophie C.

Yelp
If you look for great sushis in Osaka, that's the place to be. Very fine cuisine... we really enjoyed it and could not retrieve the same finesse elsewhere!
google avatar

Maarten S.

Yelp
Must try. Tourist/foreigner friendly with English menu. Also the grilled salmon nigiri is amazing #2 on the menu. Their rice has ruined us for sushi in the states.
google avatar

Gary L.

Yelp
The restaurant looks quiet from outside. After entering, there were at least 6 -8 customers on a Monday afternoon. I ordered the 900yen set. The amount is very reasonable for its price. The quality is not fantastic. But the chawanmushi that came with the set was superbly done. That was the highlight for the sushi set, ironically. The grilled salmon belly sushi was not bad.
google avatar

Kai X.

Yelp
I tasted almost all kinds of sushi. None is disappointed. Highly recommended. The chef will also teach u how to eat sushi. The restraunt is not located at crowd street, but it looks like a pure Japanese local restraunt. I REALLY enjoy that.
google avatar

Olivia L.

Yelp
Friendly staff and a lovely modern restaurant in the posher part of Dontonburi. It has a small English menu which makes things easier, but I ordered what a neighbouring diner was having which wasn't on the menu. They checked if wasabi was okay as my daughter was with us, which was thoughtful. My dish was impeccably presented and deliciously fresh and light. A really good random pick from Yelp.
google avatar

Ads D.

Yelp
Food quality: 4/5 Value: 6/5! Unbelievable value. Not the best sushi I have had but the lunch special was a lot of sushi plus a very interesting fish miso soup which was thick and delicious + egg / meat / tofu desert thing + unlimited green tea. We walked miles to get here and for the price it was worth it. The 600 yen set was more food than my g/f could eat and the 900 set was too much food for me!
google avatar

P F.

Yelp
The food was good, but not great. Service was not bad and they've tried to help with everything, despite the lack of English knowledge. And they definitely have the English menu, but have very limited ability to speak English. The biggest turndown for us was the fact that the restaurant allows smoking. Eating delicious otoro with a smell of cigarettes destroys the entire experience. Furthermore, I even saw one of the waiters smoking in the kitchen area.

Carlo L.

Yelp
Like others said, this is cheap sushi. I got the 600 yen set and it seriously looked like the worse cut I've ever had. Very thin, veins, faded color and bland taste. The rice was twice as big as the fish on top. I got uni, otoro and chutoro on top of my order and the uni was 2 dark yellow, small pieces overshadowed by the cucumber slice beside it. Tasted more seaweed and cucumber than uni. Chutoro was meh. The otoro was decent but at 785 yen each, not worth the visit for this. Total bill was 3800yen for 2 including 2 beers (ordered the a la carte pieces in the beginning before I knew how bad the quality is) Strongly do no recommend unless you only have 600 yen to blow.
google avatar

Will L.

Yelp
This is a good value and good quality restaurant in Osaka. 4 of us cost almost 8000 yen but we ordered many premium dishes. The chief tries to interact with his guests even though he speaks very little English. The sushi rice is cooked to perfection and the toro (fatty tuna) was so soft and tasty. Will definitely go back. Thanks
google avatar

Carol K.

Yelp
Not sure why we waited on an hour long line for this disappointment.. The sushi was nothing great. They come in pairs of 2 and one of the ones I ordered was the bloody clam. I suppose they ran out so I got one sushi rice ball covered with clam and the other piece was rice with maybe a tenth of the rice covered with a teeny tiny piece of what possibly could be clam with a huge piece of cucumber to cover the rest of the rice. I didn't say anything since it was difficult communicating with them in English as it was but man that was a rip off! Not to mention the other pieces just were too thin and disappointing for Japan standards...
google avatar

Andy T.

Yelp
The fish is really fresh, service was excellent, although I doesn't speak Japanese, day they took the time explain to me what kind of fish is in season and the course they recommend was excellent. Price wasn't too bad either, I would come back next time when in in town.
google avatar

Dennis P.

Yelp
Randomly walked in around 6pm and there was already a line. We were also not the only tourists there. Better than average sushi spot. I did the basics of tuna, salmon, and halibut. It's why you come to Japan no need to think twice about this place.
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Yummmy! I had a fabulous dinner here after walking about Dontoburi and deciding to stay clear of the large number of "junk" food places. The wait at 7:30pm on a Sat night was about 10-15mins so not that bad. Once I sat down the service was super fast and the sashimi was fantastic. Well priced as well as my whole meal, including sake, was around ¥3800.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Excellent quality of sushi. There is very little English speaking going on here, so be prepared. There's one waitress who speaks English who happened to be there every time we went. Yes I say every time because we went 2 times within a week. I would have eaten here every day if our schedule allowed it. The restaurant is small and very cramped like many Japanese restaurants. There is a English menu with pictures (thank you!). The cut is generous and the fish is amazing for the price. What else can he said? I specifically love their tuna cheek, eel with butter, and other specials all on their first page of the menu. I read reviews about smoking and luckily that didn't happen while we were there, but that would bother me too. Everyone there was Japanese so I think that was a good sign. I have to say we went for dinner one time and got some collar dish and it was almost like fish jerky hard and the taste was not good. Locals seemed to be ordering it though so maybe I just have a different preference like hamachi kama or salmon collar.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Just lunched there and decided to sit at the counter and order directly from the sushi chef a la carte. Wonderful! Everything was full of flavor and service was very friendly. They've got an English menu if you need it. With a beer, sake, a bowl of fish soup and ten pieces each, our bill came to ¥5,400. It's not cheap, but we did order some expensive cuts, (grilled tuna cheek, ototo, chutoro,) that were worth every "yenny."

Yelp
fu*king suck sushi place!! i dont understand whyyy a review is good!! do not go this plcace!!! sooo rdue customer service toooo small fish and toooo much rice. really cheap place!! but price is not cheap!!
