Yong Fu (Huangpu)

"Shanghainese are no strangers to Ningbo cuisine and can be hard to please. This restaurant, with lots of old Shanghai charm, fares well with wild-caught seafood shipped daily from Ningbo and meticulously prepared to highlight its natural taste. Portion sizes can be tailored to your party size and emphasis is on seasonal items, such as razor clams from Ninghai, available March to May. New items like yellow croaker roe aspic are also worth trying." - Michelin Inspector

First I have to say that in general the reception staff and general manager are friendly and try to be helpful. Also the cleaning staff do their basic job and the hotel has some amenities and style to it. However, this hotel has not been properly maintained by the owners. You can see the history of the hotel by only looking at the carpets in the rooms, which are dirty, smelly and simply need to be professionally cleaned - or exchanged completely. The hotel appearantly doesn’t enforce the non-smoking policy, since you can smell smoke almost everywhere in the floors and rooms. The total dealbreaker for me was the fact that the aircons in the rooms either emitted a horrible smell, or they didn’t cool down properly, the ACs need to be cleaned and fixed desperately. During my 3 night stay it never got colder than 24C in any of the rooms they assigned to me, even at night when it was only 28C outside. During day temperatures went up much higher. Same issues persisted in every room. I have stayed in many other hotels in China with lower categories than 5 stars and never had such an experience before. Fortunately, the trip.com support managed to cancel the remaining 4 nights of my stay for me, thank you very much.

Great hotel in Shanghai in a nicest location where I grew up, so always like to stay here when I visit Shanghai again and again!!! Very good service and good foods as well, and everything you need to have and buy will be walking distance. If you try once and you will be coming back too;).

Good location, near to changle road where there are many small cafes, near Huaihai middle road where there are many shopping and food options. Good restaurant in the hotel at the 11 floor for good quality shanghai food. good front desk and concerige service. Hotel rooms were up graded.

DO NOT STAY HERE. It isn’t a “Stared Hotel” at all. No one appeals good English, room service is horrible. They do not pick up the phone right away. The room is old style and doesn’t have a good view. The refrigerator is horrible and doesn’t cool anything.

I've stayed at the Jinjiang Hotel twice now and I have to say that despite it's history and being in a brilliant location in Shanghai, without fail there is too much noise in the mornings from the corridors that bleed into the rooms, and the rooms whilst obviously regular cleaned for guests, are showing their age.Carpets are getting dirty, walls and wallpaper too, and the amenities are aging a little as well, part of that serves the aesthetic but it could use a deep clean and refresh across all the rooms.Location wise you're a short walk from South Shaanxi metro station, there are many restaurants, bars, milk tea, malls, shopping, whatever you need in all directions when you leave, so you can stay local if you want or take a Didi or metro to explore the city.

The Jin Jiang Hotel is a huge complex within a short walk of Shaanxi Road metro station and it's easy to get practically anywhere in Shanghai from. The staff are courteous, and pretty much all amenities are provided for, including a decent umbrella to tackle the Shanghai rains. The rooms are generously sized, always immaculately clean, and again all amenities are provided for.The biggest issue is noise, not from neighbouring rooms, but from the hallways where you will find either guests or housekeeping shouting in 中文 early in the morning and it is practically impossible if you need to sleep in.TVs could use an upgrade to something modern that supports casting from your own device, although in China I am not sure international travellers would have much luck casting their favourite services anyway.Otherwise a great hotel.

Perfect location. Good service. Maybe the rooms need a refurbishment but it's ok. Old-fashioned style.

Room is spacious and basically clean. However the air-conditioning is not working. No matter what temperature you set, it’s a heater! The first room we’d checked in, the temp was set at 26 degrees. Management checked and moved us to another room. This room temp is set at 24.5, but it felt too warm, not really 24.5. So we have to turn off the air conditioning and open the window. As such, I felt cold in the middle of the night. Bed is a bit aft for me. Service and manner of the staff is good.
