Jinsol Gukbap Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"People are here for one thing: Gukbap - a clear pork-broth soup that comes mostly unseasoned, but with a big spread of sides like kimchi, salted shrimp, and thinly-sliced pork belly that you can add to kick it up. At lunchtime, older couples and people who work nearby fill the tables in this little strip mall spot, and if you’re looking for a quick lunch, this is the spot." - Brett Keating

Flavor-packed comfort food! The beef bulgogi bibimbap came sizzling, with perfectly crispy rice and tender, sweet-savory beef. The spicy cold noodles were refreshing with a bold, tangy kick so good on a hot day. And the spicy pork? Tender, flavorful, and straight-up addictive. Cozy vibes, fast service definitely a go-to Korean comfort spot in OC!

Jinsol Gukbap is a place you can always count on for a hearty and flavorful bowl of soup. The broth is rich and packed with depth, clearly made with care and time, and the ingredients are always fresh. Every bite feels like a warm, comforting home-cooked meal. Whether you're a fan of traditional Korean dishes or new to the cuisine, Jinsol Gukbap is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic and satisfying meal. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The best Korean pork stew I've ever had. I think it's even better than the original Jinsol in K-Town, LA. Their kimchi is truly exceptional. They're very busy and it's better to arrive early, especially during lunchtime, to avoid a long wait. The parking lot is a bit small, but they also provide an additional parking lot.

This is one of the newest Korean eateries specializing in traditional dishes, particularly soups served with rice. I had already sampled their Kukbap (국밥) on a previous visit, so I decided to treat my friends to a rejuvenating meal after a night of indulgence before their long drive home. Arriving an hour before closing, we had a limited selection from the menu. Nonetheless, we were impressed by the restaurant's architectural design and ambiance. The side dishes arrived promptly and looked appetizing. Opting for the pork soup (돼지국밥), I found the broth to be authentically flavorful with generous portions of pork. However, I noticed that the sauce typically served for dipping the pork was missing. Whether it was an oversight or not included with the dish, I recommend adding it to enhance the flavor of the soup. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, but the addition of the sauce would make the 국밥 even more enjoyable.

As a tourist, going to a restaurant is always a hit or miss. This place is a hit. 10/10! From what I observed, their parking is always full so they have designated staff to guide you where to park. I came in and the place is packed. They have a sign in sheet for guests but staff were so quick to clear tables that I got seated within 5 minutes of arriving (I was third on the list of guests/parties). Their place mats made me smile for no reason. (Attached photo) Food was delicious. One of their staff is going around refilling the kimchis so I was already full before I got to my main dish. When I asked for a to-go container, the lady even helped me put my soup into the bowl. The customer service is great, food is delicious. Highly recommend if you’re craving Korean.

Korean comfort food place you can rely on. I have been here many times and tastes of side dishes like pajeon unfortunately vary. But main soups are always good.

Google
We got the soondae gukbap and the mixed pork intestine gukbap. OMG they are so flavorful, the best pork soup ever. They give you barley rice appetizer which was so delicious. If you ask for tea, they give you the whole barley teapot which is amazing. To me, a good meter to gauge whether a Korean restaurant is good or not is from their banchan. If their banchan tastes delicious, I know their food will be great. This place's banchan is so good, kimchi not too sour/ overly fermented. Every single dish was perfection.

I come here with my dad for breakfast every Saturday. He gets the “regular” Pork Soup with Rice. I get it with Blood Sausage added. Add the shrimp to broth for a more umami flavor. My dad says it reminds him of Busan. Enough said. Pro tip: they only serve four types of soup before 10am. But the price is unbeatable: $13.95. After 10am, the full menu is available but prices rise. We’ve been here for dinner and it’s delicious as well. Much more selection for lunch and dinner. Note: their kimchi uses oysters (which I love), but in case people have allergies.

Yelp
We had a great early dinner at Jinsol Gukbap in Buena Park with the family on a regular Saturday afternoon. Finding spots that satisfy both the adults and the kids can be tough, but this place hit the mark. The kids love the noodles and ate more than usual. I really love the decoration as well. It has a chic Hanok feel. It's not going to transport you anywhere special but it feels very appropriate for the food we're about to enjoy. The iPad menu was also well designed and I didn't get frustrated and flag down a staff instead, which happens more often than not at other places. The food was excellent! We came at 4pm on a Saturday to beat the crowd, and I'm glad we did. By the time we were heading out, it was packed, and parking became a bit of a challenge. There isn't a lot of parking for how busy it gets, and we saw some people sort of made up their own spots in some non-parking spots. I believe there's a side lot, but we didn't check it out. The highlight for me was the pork belly slices--they were perfectly seasoned and didn't need anything extra. But of course the proper way to eat them is to wrap it in the perilla leaf (깻잎) and ssamjang (쌈장), which is just marvelous. The cold noodles were refreshing, especially for how hot it was that day. We enjoyed the seafood pancake because of its light texture and not overly greasy, which I appreciated. We also added a small side of kalbi, which was tender and flavorful, though the dish was truly small (I wish there were a few more pieces). Overall, this location, like its LA counterpart, is a solid spot for authentic Korean food, and both adults and kids left happy. Just keep the parking situation in mind if you're coming during peak hours!

Yelp
Went here for breakfast for the first time! Service was so fast, once I ordered from the iPad and the food arrives within 5 minutes. The pricing was also great since it is breakfast (I think all items are under $14). They only have 4 items, and of course that includes their classic pork soup with rice and noodles. I think the other ones are pork soup with pork intestines and pork soup with blood sausage. It was quiet and less crowded for the breakfast, so highly recommend everyone to get a taste of Korean breakfast.

Yelp
A new system where you order on the tablet located on every table. You can order all of your items here, call the server, and get your check here as well. The system is pretty efficient and intuitive but definitely takes out of the "dining" experience. Bibimbap was alright if you're not a big soup fan (like me) I wouldn't recommend coming here, but for those that are, the soups are great! Highly recommend, it does get a bit crowded during lunch on weekends!

Yelp
There was a long wait on a Sunday night, but it went by pretty fast. You order on the kiosk at your table, which makes it easier and faster. The server walk around to refill the banchan, and they were attentive. We got the naengmyun combo and the jeju pork noodle and I honestly can't recommend it. Jeju noodles are nothing like what you get in Korea, but I guess it's my bad that I thought it was be anything similar. The naengmyun tasted like it was straight out of the premade package. The broth wasn't good. The galbi combo had like 4-5 pieces... not worth the price of almost $40. I've tried their other stuff before and I feel that it's overpriced for the quality. It always leaves me feeling disappointed. This is the 3rd time I tried to give them a chance, so I'm not sure I'll ever be back.

Yelp
Here are the reasons why I'm giving 2 stars today: 1. They were critically understaffed. The servers were yelling at each other because so many orders got mixed up. 2. I had to wait over 40 minutes for the pancake and pork ribs - which I can understand for the ribs, but for a small pancake? Ridiculous. My table had already finished eating the soup, so we asked if we could get the pancake and ribs to-go since we hadn't even touched them. The servers didn't apologize or offer to help; they just handed us to-go boxes, which were too small for the ribs. 3. You have to constantly ask for what you need. Even when you call a server, they might acknowledge you but don't bother to stop by - pretty much ignoring you. I used to love this place, but today was a total disaster. I hope they address these issues and return to the high standard they once had.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while and a lot of things have changed. They use iPads for ordering and asking for checks which I liked because previously service was very slow. They also raised the prices since the last time I came. I would say the prices were pretty expensive. However, I think the pork belly slice is worth it because it comes with pork belly slices, soup, and rice!! AND it's the same price as the pork soup.

Yelp
This really just hit the spot after traveling early in the morning! Solid Korean food choice that has soothing soups, yummy pork and tasty banchan. The service was quick and the ordering process was entirely through a tablet so there was no waiting on the server to get our order or anything. The restaurant quickly filled up as dinner time was in full swing. Unfortunately, I wolfed down my beef short rib soup so quickly that I didn't remember to take a photo of it but I had enough to last me a second meal. Still just as good heated up!

Yelp
Authentic Korean restaurant with the most incredible soups. We ordered on the tablet at our table, and they brought over the side dishes which included a barley rice starter, kimchi, radish, cabbage, and a plate of jalapeño and onions with bean paste. The pork and rice soup was so rich and flavorful with lots of thin slices of pork belly. We added in the plate of fresh chives and vermicelli, and stirred in the res pepper paste inside the soup. This is probably the best pork soup I've had in Orange County, and better than all the Irvine restaurants. The Kimchi stew was brought out with a portable gas hot pot cooker that kept everything hot and steamy. It was delicious with so many ingredients. Pork belly, pork rib, kimchi, radish, bean sprouts, chives, tofu, and rice cakes. So many different textures and flavors that worked well together. They had forgotten to give us our rice and when we asked towards the end of the meal if it was supposed to come to rice, they were so apologetic and immediately bring it and also added a leek pancake for the inconvenience. The pancake was delicious and we saw that the regular price was only $6.95, which is such a great deal! Definitely worth ordering again in the future.

Yelp
I was first introduced to gukbap on a trip to Busan, and it was a memorable meal, but I've never tried it in the States, as I was skeptical of the quality. However, I heard good things about Jinsol and was craving that lightly spicy, comforting broth, so I gave it a try. On a Friday night around 6pm, parking was easy in the lot. Upon entering, the dining area was busy but rather spacious. We sat down and ordered a gukbap (pork soup with rice), gukbap with soondae, and jeju pork noodle from the tablet. While we waited for the mains, I enjoyed the barley rice starter. Food arrived shortly, and portions are big. I liked how customizable the gukbap was, with options to remove green onion or chili, and salt, pepper, and dried shrimp on the table to add to your liking. Overall, this satisfied my gukbap craving, and I was super full. AC was strong enough given it is summer and you're drinking hot broth, but there were a few flies here and there. You also leave with your clothes smelling strongly of the restaurant. It is a bit pricey but standard for eating out.

Yelp
Like many others, I am a huge fan of their locations in LA. So when I heard they had a location closer to the OC, I had to try. Quality and taste of the food did not disappoint. I ordered the pork soup (the one with pork belly slices). The soup was insanely tasty and I love the chili paste they add to it. For the price, it's so worth the amount of food you get since not only do you get the pork belly slices in soup but you also get a SIDE of the classic pork bone soup. Literal heaven. 10/10 service too. They were super speedy and accommodating. We went on a Friday night and it honestly wasn't too crowded like the LA locations. Will go again for sure!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in LA/OC. This was my first time trying the Buena Park location. I used to go to the Koreatown locations ALL the time when I lived in LA! The gukbap with soondae on the side is always my go-to. Their side dishes are all great, and I love all the additions that come with the soup like noodles and chives. There is always a wait when I come, and it was particularly packed when I came on a Sunday afternoon, but it's always worth the wait! Service is quick! Def check this spot out!!

Yelp
The dwaeji gukbap was really good. Somebody ordered for me so I didn't know what I was eating, didn't know it was pork! Was not porky at all. I thought it was beef. The whole meal was really comforting. Mild flavor. Hearty. Filling. Really good. (also a good hangover meal)

Yelp
You know a place is authentic when all the employees speak only their native tongue and there's no foreigner in sight. Jinsol Gukbap is newly located in a larger location in Buena Park (closer to The Source). There is ample parking but can get busy during peak hours. Their only waitlist system is a pen and paper but there are tons of seating so it does move pretty fast. Not to mention, I found the tablet ordering system on each table to be pretty efficient. I went with one of my girlfriends and we shared the pork soup with pork slice, stomach, tongue, ear & rice, a set menu w/pork belly slice, spicy pork rib, and the leek pancake. We definetly over ordered but enjoyed every bite. They're infamous for their pork bone broth that has been simmered for 24 hours in a cauldron. You can most definetly taste the richness in the pork soup. I actually preferred the soup with noodles than the rice. It's very comforting and hearty - reminiscent of Pho but with pork. The spicy pork rib was marinated well and was tender. Made for a nice contrast between the soup and boiled pork belly. The leek pancake was pretty addicting and completed the sides. Overall, I'd definitely come back and am very interested in trying the Jokbal next!

Yelp
Soooo yummy! My brother and I came here in the morning for their morning special from 7:00-10:00 AM and it was relatively quiet. We both got some variation of the pork soup and it was soooo good. The soup was rich and balanced with the right about of salt and the chili paste it comes in it's literally a match made in heaven. The radish kimchi they have here is really good as well and I loved how efficient the food was. For a discounted price and a generous portion, this place is definitely worth coming to especially in the morning.

Yelp
I come here every time I travel to OC... it's that good. I always go for the classic gukbap and leek pancake. The noodles and meat come with a bowl of white rice and are always cooked to perfection, and the leek pancake is never raw or overcooked. Just perfectly crispy. Bossam is not too salty and comes as a hefty portion. I love that they give you a bowl of barley rice with the banchan. Everything here is spot on, and the ambience is homey, bright, and airy with natural, wood elements. Looking forward to when I can come back again!

Yelp
Stepping in here reminds me so much of Korea! It is bustling and busy as they crank out bowl after bowl of gukbap. They are known for the dwaeji gukbap which is pork and rice soup. There is chili sauce at the bottom of the bowl so be sure to mix it up. Broth was boiled for 24 hours and it might taste a bit under-seasoned at first taste but you're supposed to seasoned it yourself with the jar of salt at the table. There's also a jar of salted shrimp that you can add in. The gukbap dish alone can be quite filling but I wanted to try more dishes while on vacation here. We got the leek pancake to share and it was very crispy and delicious. I wanted soondae too but instead of ordering a side of it, I got the soondae gukbap instead and it ended up coming on the side of my gukbap and looked to be the same size as the half order of soondae. So rather than paying the half order price of $7, it's better to get the soondae gukbap for extra $2... that is if you're getting gukbap already. My boyfriend got the yukgaejang. He thought it was ok and agreed that he should have gotten gukbap instead. We wanted to try the pork belly since it looks to be popular dish among customers but we only have so much stomach space.. maybe next time! Each table is equipped with a tablet so you can order directly from your seat and also call for waitstaff or bill. They have a lot of tables and seats but it can get packed and there's even people ordering a lot of takeout to go. Parking lot in the back which is convenient but that also can get full quickly! This will definitely be a go to spot next time we are down in LA!

Yelp
Wow! Just WOW. Talk about hitting the spot. Their soondae gukbap & dweji gukbap (pork soup) are to die for. And, their portion sizes are truly generous. Definitely a MUST try if you're looking for some authentic korean food.
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty soup to warm your soul! I recommend the pork soup with rice ($16.95), beef short rib soup w/ young napa ($18.95) and the leek pancake ($6.95). Parking is available behind the restaurant and in the lot next to the dental office.
google avatar

Naomi L.

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday evening and it was packed, thankfully they had an overflow parking lot! The vibe of the restaurant was very homey and comforting. The tablets on the table made ordering very quick and easy, and as soon as we ordered, the staff begin piling our table high with banchan! We ordered: Boiled pork belly Soondae Galbi Bibimbap The galbi was SO GOOD, I've never had short rib that was so tender before. This was my first time trying soondae and I enjoyed it! The pork belly was rich and fatty without being too overwhelming, especially with the dipping sauce provided and the bibimbap was nice and flavorful. The prices look intimidating by themselves but if you're splitting each dish with a group, it's more than worth it!
google avatar

Eileen L.

Yelp
The first time I had this place I only had their pork soup and I honestly never stopped thinking about it since then. I recently went back again and had to get the pork soup again but I got to try some other dishes as well. The pork soup was soo comforting and flavorful. I'm pretty sure I'd order that everytime I come here from now on. The leek pancake was a very nice appetizer and the spicy cold noodles were so refreshing and balanced. I also really liked the kimchi since I tend to like fresh and less fermented kimchi. Portions are pretty big and 2 main dishes and 1 appetizer filled me and 2 others. It got pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon but the wait wasn't bad at all. Overall, I will be coming back!!

Yelp
If you've been to any of the Jinsol locations in ktown/LA you know all about this place! They specialize in Jinsol Gukbap, Korean pork soups from Busan Korea. These soups are slow cooked 24 hours in a large pot until super thick. This place has a small parking lot in the rear. The place is very traditional Korean with 99% of the patrons Korean with majority auntie/uncle age with a mix of younger people. The restaurant is great for large parties as many of the entrees are meant for large family style eating. All of the servers speak both English and Korean perfectly so don't feel intimidated. Yes it helps to bring your Korean speaking friend but not required. The menu is very straight forward and the same across all of there locations. The MUST order item is: Naeingchae Jokbol - braised pigs feet with special mustard sauce & cold jelly salad. This is absolutely delicious with the super tender thin sliced pigs feet with the sweet savory soy/mustard sauce. Yes the thin sliced red onions in this dish gives it some heat but this is super light and flavorful. Pork Soup with Rice. This is there signature Jinsol Gukbap dish! it's actually served with a side of rice noodles and a bowl of rice. The soup is bland since its straight up 24 hour bone broth soup with not much seasoning. You literally need to add your own seasoning from the table. Either the sea salt or the salty fermented fish, highly recommended! The fermented fish is actually super delicious and the traditional way to eat this. There are also thin sliced pork inside with the rice noodles, like pho noodles. The banchan here is actually very unique too. There kimchi is more seafood based likely from there crab dishes. It's more mild with a strong seafood like flavoring without the sweetness of other places. They also sell there kimchi if you want some togo. The service here is great too. Our auntie server was very helpful in explaining to us how to eat the Jokbol and what side dishes to use with it. Yes you use the plate of chives with the pigs feet and the raw onions and two korean peppers. Overall a great place that we'll definitely be back again to try other dishes. The Army stew and pork ribs looks delicious too with the cold noodles.

Yelp
We came in maybe an hour or so before closing so they had limited items left for the night which was understandable! Service was great and helpful, the various side dishes were great to go with our pork intestine soup. Everything really hit the spot, my only regret was coming too late to try everything else! It wasn't too noisy inside at the time we came in at and the interior is nice.

Yelp
Pretty good. They were packed, service was Ok b/c it was so packed, its understandable. Soup was authentic. Grilled BBQ Pork ribs was a touch underdone even though I asked for it well done. Chives pancake is super small (like a small appetizer for 1 person), overpriced for what they give you. The banchans were meh. - The cabbage white kimchi had a lot of black moldly edge pcs (which I of course threw out) - Their radish kimchi was meh - Their kimchi was a little too oystery for my tastes Their rice was so delish though. Get there early, it gets crowded in the parking lot.

Yelp
Food was delicious. I got the pork gukbap. When I went to the LA location, it did not include a spicy paste in the soup. But this one did. It added enough flavor for me so I didn't need to add salt. Service was slow. I saw other tables getting food before us even tho they got there after us. There were only 3 people in our group. Even getting the check was slow. No one really comes by to see if you need anything. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars. We went on Sunday around 2pm and it was a 15 minute wait. Not too bad!

Yelp
Hands down super good!!! Solid food, great service and very authentic. And please don't compare this place to what you ate in Jeju Island... you sound ridiculous! You are now in Buena park, CA! lol

Yelp
I'm so excited Jinsol is now in BP; or even better they moved to the OC from LA! I was told Jinsol LA sold their location to new owners and now the original Jinsol LA folks moved to Jinsol BP. Gukbap is my favorite Korean food these days due to Jinsol BP. Gukbap and nengmyun are my favorites here. I love that barley rice is served as an appetizer if you dine in as well. Everything is so nutritious and delicious

Yelp
Came for lunch around 12:45pm on a Saturday & it was already packed, although if you're lucky you won't take too long to be seated. One thing to note is that the parking lot is very small, so you may need to park on the street or find parking elsewhere. Despite it being packed, we were seated within a few minutes. We also had our orders taken & food-served all within 10 minutes. It seemed like a very fast paced restaurant with servers bustling around. In total, we probably spent less than 30 minutes in the restaurant getting seated, ordering, eating and then leaving. However, because of this hectic atmosphere, a couple of our orders were either missed or given incorrectly. We had ordered the pork soup with sausage, and the server gave us a regular. They had also forgotten our rice and banchan. We can overlook these issues since the service was so fast, and the food we did get was very good. They clearly were trying to get customers in and out as fast as possible for better or worse. Just be sure to double-check with your servers when you order if it's very busy. Also be sure to use the seasoning on the tables because the soup is unseasoned by default. Tl;dr - no parking, packed but short wait, high-speed service (double check your orders once received, good food
google avatar

Yelp
Rich and tasty broths and fresh banchan. The food comes out so fast and you're able to order on a tablet from your table.

Yelp
Highly doubt it would be good as LA Jinsol but yes it was. Parking is more convient than LA and Stanton location and there are so many seats ! They alsonopen early in the morning for breakast with limited menu at a cheaper price. Gukbap waa good as always but noodle dish I had wasnt the best. Served lukewarm and the meat was too chewy. Definatley cominf back but not getting the noodle.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
As good as the original in ktown. I'm so happy they expanded and have locations closer to Irvine. The pork soup is always delicious and the leek pancake was pretty good.

Hana L.

Yelp
Dined at jinsol gukbap in Buena Park and it was a terrible experience. Our party was seated quickly within 10minutes which was great. However the rest of the evening was a disaster. We ordered noodle+ galbi combo, sounded and gukbap. It took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Galbi came with just four small pieces each about the size of a palm which was disappointing for the 35 minute wait. Each table is equipped with an iPad like screen with a call staff button, despite pressing it 6 times we were never attended again after our initial service. The water kettles are dirty with metal stains. While the restaurant has a nice ambiance and design the service and food do not justify the $80 we spent on 3 dishes. I will def never return.

Yelp
I came here over the weekend to grab dinner with some friends after hearing friends rave about how good the pork soup is here. Just FYI parking lot is small so, you might take some time finding parking especially on a busy night. We did have a wait on Saturday night for a party of 6 ~ 20 minutes? Not bad as tables were moving in and out. It's def a bit small if you come with a huge party as much of the space are in booths or outside seating. I decided to get the #2 which is their Pork Soup w/ Pork Slice, Stomach, Tongue, Ear & Rice. It came with so much meat. It's def worth your money and will make you full. The soup was so refreshing and kept me warm as I was eating. You have to add seasonings like salt/pepper into your soup to enhance the taste, but I really enjoyed eating it with the marinated salted shrimp. The banchan was also really yummy as well. I love how they offer marinated crab as banchan too. Overall, I love the homey vibe Jinsol Gukbap gives off. It lives up to the hype for sure and I will def come back anytime I'm craving soup especially on a cold day.

Yelp
As someone who was born in Korea you know you don't go out of your way to eat "Korean food" but this place absolutely is my goto place when I don't feel like cooking. The service is all done through the iPad and you order and they deliver. Place is clean and it is loud and busy so make sure you walk in and put your name in. I was impressed with all the food here. I would come back!

Yelp
One of the best for korean soup! Growing up eating around garden grove ktown, I've had my fair share of korean soups but this place definitely takes the top spot. Got the pork soup with stomach, tongue, and ear and the broth was super clean but flavorful. I didn't have to add that much salt and shrimp because there was already so much flavor! It comes with rice and noodles so it will definitely fill you up. One of the most comforting dishes i've ever had. Service was quite fast despite it being busy, but I recommend staying inside if you are waiting for a table because they will seat you first. Will be coming back many more times!

Yelp
If you need comfort food that is nourishing and clean, come here. If you are recovering, have a hangover, need to detox from heavy greasy foods, come here. I love their pork soup with rice. The broth comes unsalted so you can add the seasonings to your taste. I like adding the salted shrimp to the soup. It gives it an extra kick of umami. Also, if you love chives, dump them all in the soup. Use the spoon, scoop some rice, ladle some soup with it and pop it in your mouth. It's tastes like home cooking and feels rejuvenating to the soul. The leek pancake is small but done well. It looks soft at first glance but don't be deceived. Take a bite and you will feel the crispiness of the batter and sweet caramelized leeks. They are perfect to accompany the gukbap. The restaurant can get quite crowded and loud. Tip to get seated on time is to get in before the church crowd showed up.

Yelp
Was looking for a late night dinner spot and I'm glad we found this restaurant on Yelp. We came an hour before closing and we were able to order right away on the self serve iPad on our table. Our food came out really fast too. Everything came out so fresh and hot. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Love this place. This is the third location I have been to. The service at this location is spot on. The old ladies are constantly fussing over the kids when we are here :) I love how they had the iPad to order food and it was super seamless. We also order the large pork belly and make sure to order no chili in your extra soup. It's comes with rice and we always order the side of noodles which is delicious. My husband loved the kimchi stew with pork belly. It is def for sharing and had plenty of pork ribs and tofu. Dinner for 4 was under $150 with tip and tax! Affordable and huge portions

Yelp
Delicious Korean soups and cold noodles. We love the beef short ribs soup with young napa soup. My husband loved it so much he kept talking about it afterwards. We have also tried the Kimchi stew and thought it was amazing. We appreciate the ipad ordering system and find it super convenient and easy to use! Our new go to Korean restaurant!

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in Ktown has a new location in Buena Park! The star of the show is definitely the braised pork belly! You can order it on its own or in a kimchi stew! We decided to do the large pork belly and the kimchi stew pork belly and it was delicious! This is the first time I've seen a place with the raw marinated crab as banchan/side dish. The service was great, for the kimchi stew they help you cut up the kimchi! They had plenty of tables inside and had a good amount of space! Definitely gonna be coming back!

Yelp
This was my first time trying pork soup! I heard about Jinsol Gukbap in LA's Koreatown, but this location seemed to be bigger and had parking. From my experience, service was lacking. They had restrooms to the right the entrance door. There is a waiting list posted to the left of the entrance. I recommend checking that because the ahjummas are so busy they don't look at people coming in. Parking - parking lot in the back, but can be full during peak meal times. Perhaps try the street or the next plaza over for parking. (or just leave if you are impatient hah) Service - This location has tablets on every table. You can see pictures for every menu item and order from the tablet. You can even call for service by "ordering" the staff on the tablet. After my party of five got seated, it took them legit 20 minutes to acknowledge us and bring side dishes. We were so confused whether they got our order/if the tablet was working/what is happening??? We had to ask for water. One person at our table was given the wrong dish - and we had proof because it was on the tablet. Food - The pork soup is indeed tasty. This is the perfect dish to get when it's cold and gloomy in southern California. It reminded me of seoullongtang because you have to add your own salt to taste. The rice that comes with the dish is also really good. With tip and tax, the dish is like $23.

Yelp
Yes, Korean food is more than Korean BBQ and tofu stew. This is where you come for a different kind of food I wish I could say what we got. I went with my friend who spoke the language and did all the ordering. Here's what we had (in my English explanation) 1. Pork broth stew with noodles - a delicious rich broth with sliced pork and rice noods. Add your own salt and shrimp paste for the umami flavor. 2. Leek pancake - perfect side dish and a way to get some veggies! 3. Spicy pork ribs - super tender and juicy. I wish they were a little more spicy Bonchon is fresh and tasty! I love how socal has restaurants that specialize in a certain dish. You don't get that in very many places!

Yelp
I've been to the LA location many times. Love that there's one closer in OC now. I would say the food and consistency in quality is the same. Service is fair as it can be busy at times which is understandable. The place is bigger than the other location, well maintained, and kept clean. Can't go wrong with a solid gukbap.

Yelp
So my wife had this placed bookmarked ever since she heard there was a location in Buena Park. Even though its super hot right now, we still decided to order the pork bone soup for dinner. I ended up getting the combo with the blood sausage and we ordered the leek pankcake on the side. Overall impression of the banchan is that although its not a lot of variety, its done well and you dont really need to ask for more as the staff is pretty attentive and check to make sure there is enough. We especially liked the radish as it wasnt over fermented and still had some crisp to it but not to the point where it tasted raw. Same with the kimchi, it was at the right texture that i prefer. The broth is very flavorful and rich, where you can really taste the fact that it was slow cooked for a really long time. In most places you really just dont get that richness. There is actually quite a bit of thinly sliced pork and i also like the fact that they give you extra chives and noodles to add into the soup making it also a very filling dish. would definitely recommend coming here especially on a cold winter day.

Yelp
I am done with this location. Already tried here three times. It was the same disappointing meal as the previous experiences. Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I have been to all Jinsol Gukbap locations. This is the worst. The pork soup is always porky in a bad way. Even the kimchi here taste different from other locations. It is not as fresh and the chili flakes they use just leave a bad aftertaste. The servers were amiable and attentive. But who goes to Gukbap place (or any restaurant) just for friendly service? I don't. I want the food to be good. Skip this place. Try Stanton and Koreatown locations if you want to taste awesome Korean soup.

Yelp
3.7 stars Came in for some cold noodles and this restaurant didn't disappoint in flavor! Their spicy sauce is addicting and I really liked the bite of the noodles and the pickled daikon. However, for $17.98 a bowl, I can't say it's worth it though. I'm sad to say that this restaurant will just be the occasional visit for me.

Yelp
Excellent! There's plenty of parking spaces, however visiting during lunch or dinner hours, expect to wait and all party members must be present to be seated. We waited 20mins for our table, however the food comes out quickly and they have an amazing system. Ban Chan/side dishes are tasty and authentic. We were blown away with the spicy marinated crab and unlimited banchan. Staffs are super friendly & can speak broken English. There's a selection of Korean alcoholic beverages. Our food came out quickly, BBQ Kalbi was cooked to perfection, spicy noodles had plenty of vegetables with sauce being on point, spicy beef soup (hot temperature) tasted homemade, Kalbi tang had clean broth flavor. You won't be disappointed. Hope you're able to go and taste the homecoming of Korean cuisine. Bon appetite!

Yelp
If you're craving some Korean comfort food, this spot will not disappoint. There's plenty of parking and even provided additional parking next door. Ambiance is traditional Korean decor. Service was friendly just remember to use the little machine to order your food, drinks and to request service. Food was the star of the show. We ordered Beef bone soup w/ rice, Pork soup w/ rice (they also have everything you need to adjust the flavor to your liking), spicy cold noodles (just note that it comes with lots of sesame oil). All that plus two beers came out to a total of $77.32. Only challenge, might need to come with a fly swatter. We were struggling keeping those flies out of our food. Otherwise it was awesome.

Yelp
I got the spicy pork feet and yoo suk place. I appreciated that it came with complimentary soup which included noodles and chives. A must try!

Yelp
Buena Park is truly the new Koreatown. Loved this spot in Ktown LA, and glad it's opened here much closer to home. Great indoor space with lots of 4-seater tables, and a small outdoor patio with large tables with benches suitable for larger groups. Came on a Sunday morning ~10:30am, and it was already packed with families and groups of Korean men who had clearly just wrapped up a round of golf. There was already a waitlist forming, but people seemed to get seated fairly quickly. If you haven't been here before, their classic is the Gukbap, a pork soup served with a bowl of rice. You can season the bowl to your taste with salt, pepper, and red pepper paste (in small containers on your table). They'll also serve a plate of greens you can put on top if you're a pro. For a weekend breakfast/brunch, that's usually enough for me. Super friendly staff, and they have high chairs for kids.
