I'm going to go ahead and slide Jinya into the "frequent repeat" category. I'll admit this isn't my first trip to Jinya. I wanted to hold off until trying a few additional dishes over a few visits. Jinya has won over this Japanese food lover!
Sure it's officially a ramen bar, and there are so many to choose from. There are even gluten free, and even impossible meat options. But don't sleep on the "others"! The menu is absolutely jam packed with classic favorites and new creative items alike. Salads, Mini tacos, Pork buns, rice bowls, and even kids meals.
The Tonkotsu black is a crowd favorite, and for good reason. Chashu, Green onion, dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic chips, garlic oil, fried onion, and a spice sauce. Did I forget anything? A beautiful marriage of textures and flavor. I def think the broth would be even better if spicier, but the chashu and noodles are the star here. The chashu basically melts in your mouth, while the choice to go with a thinner noodle doesn't overwhelm the bowl and allows others to shine.
Can we direct our attention to the Brussels sprouts tempura?! Brussels sprouts encased in a light and crispy tempura batter, drizzle with a touch of truffle oil. I can't seem to find the words to describe how magical this is. I wanted so bad to scarf this entire bowl down, but knowing how much my wife enjoys sprouts, I had to show restraint. Probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do in the name of love lol. I certainly did not come here for a vegetable based appetizer, but bar none, the best vegetable dish I've probably ever had!!
In an area that is densely populated with an insane amount of Asian options, Jinya is a must. Great modern space, friendly staff, great energy, and even greater food. It hits the spot every...single...time...
