Jinya Ramen Bar Review - Victory Park - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Jinya Ramen is one of the chillest places in town to slurp a bowl of hot noodles. Since you’re close to both downtown and Uptown, you’ll find 9-5ers dressed in tucked polo shirts having a quick lunch, and Gen-Zers grabbing a relaxed, early-evening bite before bar-hopping. The vegan red fire opal ramen, a yuzu-tinged hot and sour broth, is so good you’ll drink all the liquid before getting to any of the tofu or bamboo shoots. Take a seat at one of the tables, or sit up at the bar to eat your ramen while watching whatever football game is on the TV screens." - Lee Escobedo

Jinya Ramen Bar Review - Santa Monica - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This bonafide chain has dozens of locations across North America, and that’s for good reason. Its tonkotsu broth, which forms the base for its dizzying ramen varieties, is consistently strong, whether on its own or in variations like the spicy umami miso or the garlic lovers’ Cha Cha Cha bowl." - Patricia Kelly Yeo

Jinya Ramen Bar Review - Spring Valley - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"If you’re going to eat one bowl of ramen in this city, it should be at Jinya. Unfortunately, that fact isn’t much of a secret - so you’ll usually have to wait. You could go during the day when it’s less crowded, but the full experience only happens on weekend nights. There’s a sort of camaraderie that develops between a room full of people willing to wait for a perfect bowl of soup - though apparently sharing an interest in Harry Potter and recreational disc golf doesn’t mean you should lean over and try a bite from their bowl. You have to draw the line somewhere." - Edward Thompson

Google
The atmosphere is nice. The people around me had the same niche hobbies as me and it make me thrice as comfortable. Our waitress Gracie was polite and always checking on us. She even gave us some tasty food tips! 10/10 will come again.

Google
The customer service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff was professional and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, I ordered the Spicy Vegan Ramen, and it was extremely bland and lacked flavor. On top of that, the pricing felt unreasonable, it was $2.50 just to add an egg(best thing about the ramen). Despite the great service, the food was disappointing and overpriced, so I wouldn’t come back. Don’t believe the hype .

Google
10/10 experience. Jason was a great waitress. He recommended great choices and was very attentive to us. He never failed to make us feel seen and heard throughout the ordering process. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick bite and great experience.

Google
Went in for lunch, arrived a little bit earlier than they opened and we still got Sat. Ryan took great care of us and recommended apps and deserts! My favorite location by far! Ordered the flan dessert and chicken salad but it was too good to take a picture first! 10/10

Google
Jason truly elevated our dining experience from start to finish! He greeted us warmly and made sure we felt welcomed right away. He gave us a thorough rundown of the menu, answered all our questions with genuine care, and even recommended some new items that we absolutely loved. Throughout the meal, Jason was incredibly attentive without being intrusive—checking in at just the right moments and keeping great conversation. We were able to fully enjoy our time while feeling well taken care of. Thank you, Jason, for your outstanding service and making our visit so memorable! 😊

Google
Tried ramen for the first time and had a great experience! Jason was extremely attentive—you can tell he truly cares about the customer experience and isn’t rushing you or showing any bad attitude. The food was tasty and comforting. I do feel like it could have a bit more protein considering the price, but overall, I genuinely had a great time.

Google
As always we had yet another fantastic lunch at one of our favorite establishments!! Jason was awesome and very attentive! Boxed up my left overs and also got us to sign up for the reward system so we can start earning! Thank you so much for another great experience!

Google
Best Ramen I've ever had. No cap. Louis was a great server that helped out with amazing recommendations including some appetizers that were also great. It hit the spot. Definitely recommend coming here. We will return again.

Yelp
It's a chain ramen place, but each store seems to maintain quality food and service. Our server was friendly and attentive. Had the Salmon Poke Mini Taco as an appi. Interesting, but not sure I would get them again, only because I am not a fan of hard shell tacos for any kind of food. Had the JINYA Tonkotsu Black. Deelish. I should try other varieties but it's my go to. Overall, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Service was great & very responsible taking dietary restrictions seriously. Both vegan ramen bowls we had were awesome. My favorite was the Vegan Red Fire Opal. Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen was also very good. The space was very clean & chill.

Yelp
Excellent food, quick friendly service. Lana was very helpful explaining the menu, and she suggested combinations that added greater value to our choices. The decor is clean and modern, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. Jinya is in a strip mall, with dark tinted windows, so it's easy to walk right by it, and not notice it's a restaurant, but once you get inside, it's a surprisingly attractive place. I am very spoiled by Ramen I have had in Tokyo (obviously the best place to get Ramen), but Jinya is very good, and a good value, and I will definitely come back.

Yelp
I've been here several times, my most recent trip, we saw this roach hanging directly above the pass, right where customer food exits the kitchen.

Yelp
To run, or to walk to JINYA Ramen bar? Hang here for a little and the answer will come! My friends and I walked in on a bustling Sunday evening about an hour before closing, and were seated right away (we were a table or 6). The service was good. Our waitress was spunky, welcoming, and made some decent menu recommendations. I ordered the lychee sake, which was delicious, and plenty to share for a small group. For food I ordered the shrimp wonton ramen, with thin noodles and a soft egg. What I did appreciate, the options to customize my bowl. For a rainy, cold evening in Houston, this was a way better alternative to fast food. For the quality of ramen as a whole, it should be priced at a more affordable rate due to the quality. My advice? If you're in the area, and you're looking for a better alternative to the nearest fast food joint, stop by JINYA.

Yelp
The best ramen I've ever had. I love their spicy chicken ramen. They have vegan options too. The service is always amazing. Ambiance is fantastic.

Yelp
As usual, Jinya is usually busy. I decided to try this location again since the last visit was unpleasant. I've gotten my go to Tonkatsu with extra Char Siu. Everything tasted wonderful. Service wasn't stellar. I was only there for lunch so maybe 15-20 mins max? Once again, I paid with cash and the server asked if I needed change. You can tell if a customer needs change or if it's a tip by the amount of cash he/she gives. It rubs me the wrong way when servers think I am tipping them 90% of the bill when I was only there for 15-20 minutes. Looks like management hasn't discussed how to handle cash customers in their meetings with the servers. Jinya, please do better. I enjoy your food. Maybe have a dedicated cashier if your servers are so busy that they can't close out a tab with the correct amount of change?

Yelp
We came to the place, waited forever, servers passed us and ignored us. The couple that came 15 minutes after us got service before us. I'm not sure how this establishment train their employees; but retraining needs to happen. I felt the discriminations of services from their employees. The host has her back on the entire time as we walked in. I had to make some noice in order to be notice. Please review your camera footage on Labor Day from 1:20 to 1:45. You will see what I'm talking about. This place wasn't even crowded at the time and had 3 waiters. Sorry but I won't step foot in this Jinya location anymore. Disappointment is an understatement.

Yelp
You can never go wrong here. My favorite is the tonkotsu black, extra garlic. It give everything it needs to give. The flavors are rich and balanced without overpowering. The broth is the standout piece, and the noodles are incredible. I look forward to the ramen here each time.

Yelp
I had the best service by our waitress Kaylee, she was so sweet and attentive. She suggested the tonkatsu black and it was delicious, I'll definitely get it again the next time I come. I highly suggest you guys to ask for Kaylee the next time you guys go visit, she made my experience very enjoyable.

Yelp
This is the third Houston area Jinya that I have been to and like always, I left happy and full. Just like the Clear Lake location, I always prefer the ones in the 'burbs as parking is easy and the crowds are lighter. A group of friends and I came about and hour before closing and got the familiar friendly greetings yelled at us. Our waiter was cool and handled us with ease. Like the other locations I've been to, I had to pull out my phone to shed some light on the menu since its pretty dark inside. This old man needs some light! I've been to Jinyas quite a bit and have always ordered the same apps and some ramen. We had light bites earlier so we skipped apps and went straight to entrees. I was feeling a little adventurous so I went with the Pork Chashu Bowl. I got the regular size which was a nice sized portion if you are hungry. The bowl came out quick and was very visually appealing. The bowl consisted of braised pork, spinach, green onions and a seasoned egg on top of steamed rice. I mixed it all together and it was very tasty. The same depth of flavor I get with the ramen brother was there in the pork as well. All the ingredients together made for a very delicious bite. Temp wise I wish the food was hotter. I also had to ask for something spicy to kick it up a notch. Overall, Jinya continues to be consistent at all the locations I've been to and I would not hesitate to come back to this location!

Yelp
I've been here dozens of times and often get the same thing: spicy chicken ramen (spicy), add fresh garlic, cabbage, and shrimp wontons. I am a big fan of the shrimp spring rolls they had for a while. I'm hoping they bring those back. The ambience is always chill but the music is SO LOUD in the bathroom. The servers and bartenders are very professional and kind.

Yelp
Came for a quick weekday day night! Wonderful decorations and greeting once you enter the restaurant. I've had Jinya before at other locations, and this one was just as good. The service was good and the flavors were consistent from my previous experiences. I tried the Creamy Vegan ramen. I'm not vegan but wanted to try something different from what I'm used to. I loved this one! Vegan broth was so warming! The toppings were tasty. And I LOVED the thick noodles. Great experience at the Jinya in Katy!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was not there for me on a Saturday night sadly. My waiter/waitress literally only came to my table to get my order and dropped off my food. I guess they were too busy attending to other bigger parties which left my table irrelevant. Wasn't there to give me refill on waters or asked what else I needed. I had to flag em down to ask for simple chili oil. Food tastes pretty good still. I tend to get their rice bowls whenever I'm here. I love the pork chasu bowl w chili oil on the side. Prob would still come back but hopefully with better service next time.

Yelp
The chicken ramen is so good. It's one of the best ramen places we have tried. The vibe is awesome. The waiter we had was efficient and friendly. Will definitely visit again when in Houston.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I came here! This is my favorite place for spicy vegan tofu ramen ! It's so delicious and even my heavy meat eater friends enjoy it a lot! Very flavorful with tons of delightful vegetables and I had a great time with it a lot! :) The service is nice and the staff, Fernando, always came and checked everything is okay! The vibe is nice cozy bar environment! Highly recommended for vegan and vegetarians friends there! Come and enjoy Cheers

Yelp
I was in town for the holidays and my sister took me to try this Ramen spot. Nice space, really open and inviting. It was packed but we were offered bar seating right away which we took. We ordered both mocktails that were offered on the menu, I don't remember what they were called, but one was with coconut and the other one had ginger beer in it. Both were absolutely delicious, although I wish the glasses were bigger and they didn't put in so much ice. We both ordered the black ramen.... the egg was cooked perfectly, that's always the first thing I check. The noodles were nicely cooked as well and the fried garlic on top had a nice flavor. What I didn't enjoy was the broth, it had a very porky almost gamey taste to it. I was not a fan, also kind of bland with no depth. I didn't even finish my bowl, I wasn't very impressed to be honest.

Yelp
Love this place!! Sat at the bar and our server, Chels, was awesome! I had a lychee moscow mule and she made it quickly. Ambiance was nice and cozy. 10/10 would recommend
google avatar

Sasha G.

Yelp
I liked everything about this place. The set up of restaurant, the big bar, the kind staff, clean restroom, etc .... My favorite thing though is the fact that you can customize your Ramen! I love when establishments have options. They have vegan and gluten free ramen too. As an added bonus they have mocktails, which is always a treat for non drinkers! My ramen was piping hot, flavorful and everything was tasty. I'll be back and it's on my list of recommendations to others.

Yelp
I got the spicy chicken dumpling one and it was pretty good! would recommend for someone who is looking for a good ramen place to start.

Yelp
Love love their chicken wonton with Ramen noodles. It's so creamy and delicious. I like how you are welcomed in Japanese and when you are done how they tell you arigato in Japanese. They have excellent service and the ambience could be a little noisy but everyone just seems to be in friendship or family mode when eating in a good place. I highly recommend this place for good Ramen it's in a good location and it's very nice and cozy especially when they dim the lighting.

San W.

Yelp
+1 for our server, Jay - just awesome effort & sweetness Food review: - jinya bun - largely lacking in flavor, all soft texture, no 'wow' C - gyoza - well seasoned & prepared, sauce is unbalanced, a little'char' B- - tuna poke bowl- saved by the spicy mayo B-, without the spicy mayo a C - tonkatsu black - pretty flavorless a C - panna cotta - over gelatinized, the highlight was the vaguely coffee ish caramel, a C+

Yelp
We weren't even planning on coming here but we saw it and wanted some ramen so we figured we'd try it while we were in the area. I'm so glad we did. 5/5 across the board! The restaurant is nicely decorated. It's modern and clean. I love the overall vibe of this place. All the staff were so friendly! Our server was Dan and he went above and beyond. He's very friendly and attentive. The service he provided is comparable to service I've had in fine dining restaurants. Amazing service from Dan and the rest of the staff here. They all deserve a shout out. The food is amazing too. We've eaten at many ramen places. My husband is a bit particular about ramen too but we were both very impressed. Even the other dishes like the chef's special, appetizers, and kids meal were great. The kids meals are really big portions so it was perfect so my kiddo could have leftovers for tomorrow. We got a to go order for my brother in law and even though it wasn't as fresh by the time we got it home he said it was still really good. Portions are great too. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Nilah R.

Yelp
We ordered the spicy chicken ramen, JINYA chicken ramen, chicken chashu bowl, chicken wonton ramen, edamame, shrimp tempura, and chocolate and green tea mochi. The JINYA chicken ramen lacked a little bit of flavor. But the shrimp tempura was delicious!!!! The green tea mochi was just perfectly delicate to cleanse the palate of the all the flavors. The ambience and service at this place was also really nice.

Taimyshoe N.

Yelp
What we're paying vs what we're getting doesn't math up. I've been going to jinya since they first opened one on nasa. Their food has gotten saltier and more expensive while the quantity we're getting has decreased. I used to have soup to pair with the noodles, now it's just soupy noodles at best. Many better ramen shops out here that gives you what you pay for.
google avatar

Susan G.

Yelp
BestcRamen in area love this place!! Come here often always consistent. Food is good services excellent and the ambience is good as well.
google avatar

R. R.

Yelp
This place is delicious! The spicy broth with ramen & tender chicken - so good! The waiter suggested to move up to hot instead of spicy, since it was closer to mild. The bowl is pricey at $18 bucks & every extra ingredient is 3 bucks. It adds up quick. Also, there are only 2 little slivers of chicken. Still, I will be back because it was delish.

Tatiana C.

Yelp
Love love love jinya ! Always good service, ambience and food! One of my fav ramen spots

Allana G.

Yelp
horrible service, horrible ramen, over priced. I purchase one ramen and 2 appetizers and it was 40$!!!
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
So I first visited JINYA a few years back (different location) and let's just say I figured ramen was not for me and I just needed to stick with pho. It's now 2022 and there's a JINYA not too far from my place. One day, something just came over me and I just decided to give JINYA one more chance. Welp...I'm soo glad I did. Their shrimp wonton ramen..DELISH! Seasoned just right and it all just taste so fresh! I love to get a side of broccoli to add to mine because who doesn't love broccoli! This location can get very busy and is kind of small. It's clean, welcoming, and a nice ambiance. I love that you can just come enjoy your time at the bar too. PS: And don't judge me...I ended up coming back the next day for more shrimp wonton ramen...Lol!! What other bowls do you recommend??

Yelp
This is my last review for 2021 & I wanted to give it a 5 stars unfortunately it was just a solid 3.5. I've been to numerous of Jinya's & this is the first location that did not receive a 5 star rating from me & I'll explain why. Service for the most part was good but the person who dropped off my appetizer wasn't friendly. She basically placed the food on the table, I said thank you & she ignored me & walked away with sass, -1 star for that. The food at this location was just decent/good & not great. Here's what I ordered. * Brussels sprouts tempura- lightly coated, nice crisp & it came right out of the fryer. Overall it tasted fine, but it was bland and needed some salt. I asked the server is there any dipping sauce for my tempura & he recommended the spicy mayo. Let's just say the sauce made it 3X's better. 3/5 * Chicken ramen- the broth was very simple & didn't have any depth to it. I'll say that it was just decent. It definitely needed more ingredients because something was missing. 3/5 * Karaage chicken ramen (Chef's special)- I've pretty much ordered everything on the menu so I wanted to get something different. The broth was rich & the chicken was delicate. Considering the chicken had been soaked in the soup for a good minute, it still has a good crunch. The egg was cooked to my liking, which is runny. 4.2/5 Overall, the food was decent & service from Ruben was good but the food runner left a bad taste in my mouth. Will I come back? Probably not since there's so many Jinya's in Houston. I'll just stick to the Sugarland, Cypress & Midtown location.

Yelp
Dined in at 8:30 pm on a Monday for Fkndeliciousness' meet and greet! We had a prix fixe menu that included: Creamy shrimp tempura: good flavors, big shrimp Pork gyozas: my favorite of the night, super juicy and perfectly cooked Chicken karrage: big tender juicy dark meat! I would have ate more if they were bite size. Yuzu shio ramen: good clear broth, a little salty, pork slices were tender and fatty goodness, egg should be cut in half Tonkotsu black ramen: good broth but the pork slices were extra tough, egg should be cut in half, I know it was a busy night

Yelp
Another new Jinya location, this time in Katy. Plenty of parking spots in this small plaza. Interior is nice and comparable to the other spots. Service at this one as noticeably lacking especially compared to Midtown. The menu has also changed recently; I'm not too big a fan of the changes or the price increase. Each bowl is now ~$15! Flavor is pretty close to the other spots as expected. Solid, but nothing extraordinary. Good spot for this area
google avatar

Sophia J.

Yelp
We ordered an appetizer of chicken karaage (5 piece), a Jinya tonkotsu black with a side of spicy sauce and a spicy Umami miso ramen. I was very satisfied with how fast the food came out and how kind the server was. The food in the other hand, I would say I was only half satisfied. Not that it was bad, but overall, it was too salty with ramen having so little amount of soup. I'm usually a sauce lover so I always dip my chicken karaage in the sauce but because it was already salty, I didn't even bother dipping it. For the ramen, I got the spicy umami miso ramen and when I took my first bite, I liked the taste of it but the saltiness just threw me off. However, overall service and the taste of the food was not bad so I would consider revisiting next time I'm in Houston!
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Food just didn't taste good. Nice ambiance though and service was good. Food was a no.

Layla T.

Yelp
Nope. I've had Jinya elsewhere and loved it but this branch was the worst ramen I've had. The chashu are subpar quality and basically all fat, the veggies skimpy so you have to pay like $5 extra EACH for same past portions and the noodles doughy n gross like bloated powdery washed noodles. On all three fronts, a 1/5. They got the order right and packaged well so 2 stars but I won't be back here.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
The food and cocktails were really good, and the staff was excellent. They did a fantastic job explaining the menu and offering us different options.
google avatar

Anne Marie O.

Yelp
Food was really good every time I have eaten at different JINYA throughout the city. My son, loved the kids meal and it came with plenty of food. Enough for him to share with my husband. The other portions were not huge. They were plenty for one person but not Texas size so don't expect that. Service was great. Server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance I side is nice and calm with the mood lighting but the club music was a bit jarring and unnecessary. The place was clean, including the restroom.

Jeong H.

Yelp
The most mind blowing vegan food I had. Their Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen is amazing. The broth feels like a taste that you can't get without dairy, but it's vegan! By far my favorite ramen place. Back in the days I had their spicy chicken ramen as well and it's super delicious. Make sure to ask for garlic for the chicken ramen. It's free. Makes the broth much more flavorful. Don't put garlic in the vegan ramen though. It messes up the original creamy taste of the broth. Highly recommend. I always take my vegetarian/vegan friends!
google avatar

Nhi V.

Yelp
My go to ramen place in Katy. Been here several times and the ramen have been consistently good. Whole egg, chewy noodle, rich broth, not too fat chasu, everything you can ask for. They give just enough broth to leave you satisfied, no more no less, and understandable because that's where the money is. Chicken karaage is a liiitle bit too big for my liking - the chunks are huge so it's a bit difficult to eat - but otherwise juicy and crunchy. Service are usually friendly and on time unless they're really busy. I would also recommend the panna cotta (not pictured) which I order almost every time I come. Not too sweet, creamy, and makes me happy.
google avatar

Kushal S.

Yelp
Food - Ramen is pretty solid. Many broth options for various dietary restrictions. Lots of add-ons for the ramen, though they can get pricey quick. Service - Friendly staff Ambiance - Trendy atmosphere, but really dark inside at nighttime. I understand mood lighting, but it's a bit much when our table had to turn on our cellphone flashlights to read the menu
google avatar

Yelp
Service is amazing! Erin is the best server, seriously. Very charismatic and on point with everything. I vote Erin for president. Erin be caring but not over staring. He's not one of those servers who neglects a table or is always creepin too close. His vibes are umame.

Yelp
The food and service was absolutely amazing!! Decided to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday here and was not disappointed! Special thanks to Aaron for the tasty drink recommendations :) We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I was craving a good bowl of ramen, so I came here for dinner with my sister. We ordered the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen, the chef's special Vegan Maze-men, and some Takoyaki Balls. I've previously tried the Spicy Creamy Ramen, so I was happy that the consistency at this location was also the same. The Takoyaki balls were honestly some of the best I've EVER had. I am in love with the egg tartar below the balls that add amazing creaminess to the dish! Lastly, the vegan Maze-men was ok in my opinion. I really enjoyed the flavor of the bamboo shoot, but overal the dish was very heavy. It was hard to enjoy it after a few bites and really needed some acidity to cut through the heaviness of the dish. Overall great place with good food and a great atmosphere!
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
I have to preface that I didn't have ramen. My son did and loves this place. I had the jalapeño corn and it was delicious. The pork gyoza was also great. Good service and clean restaurant.

Yelp
We placed a take out order and we were so excited to try and are so disappointed to have found a hair in our food. So frustrating and disappointing.

Yelp
Food is delish but the service is no bueno! Got my order wrong a couple times and the server seems like she didn't even want to be there or wait on us.

Yelp
The ambiance and flavorful ramen bowls make for an unforgettable experience. As I scrolled down the menu I just knew I'd be back to try other ramen entrées. Give it a try, Jinya is one of the best I've had so far in Houston.
