The 16 Best Ramen Shops in Houston - Eater Houston

"This California-based ramen chain is currently staking a bigger presence in Houston, but for now head to Midtown for a bowl of ridiculously creamy tonkotsu broth and springy, fresh noodles. Venture out of the typical offerings with the shrimp wonton ramen or the luscious tonkotsu black ramen, made with fatty pork and a black garlic oil. Vegetarians can also chow down here on veggie ramen bowls packed with tofu, broccolini, corn, green onion, and more." - Brittany Britto Garley

"Jinya takes a slow approach to its ramen, with broth that’s simmer for 20-plus hours. The menu includes vegetarian, began and gluten-free options, plus non-ramen items like mini poke tacos, rice bowls, and tempura vegetables." - Brittanie Shey

This was our first time at Jinya and our server, Nhat, was absolutely fantastic! She was very friendly, attentive and thoughtful and we had a great dining experience because of her. Food was also excellent with variety of options. Would love to come back again- thanks Nhat!

JINYA Ramen Bar delivers an outstanding culinary experience with top-tier ramen that truly impresses. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted warmly by the staff, setting a welcoming atmosphere. The menu boasts a variety of rich, flavorful broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and well-balanced toppings that make every bite satisfying. However, there were a couple of service-related hiccups. the water was surprisingly unpleasant—almost undrinkable, which was disappointing given how essential it is to a dining experience. Another small but noticeable issue was the inconsistency in greetings. One charming aspect of JINYA is that guests are greeted upon entering and leaving, which adds a touch of hospitality. However, when my date and I left, we didn’t receive the usual farewell. It felt a little personal, as we had seen others get that same warm acknowledgment when departing. Despite these minor drawbacks, the ramen itself was exceptional, making the visit well worth it. If you’re looking for incredible noodles and deep, flavorful broth, JINYA is a fantastic choice. Hopefully, next time, the service will match the quality of the food.

My first time trying Ramen. I enjoyed it!! The server was helpful and attentive. It was busy because I went on a Sunday evening and it was a local event in the area. The drinks were really good, if you love Ramen, check out this place ❤️

Came for my birthday as a last minute dinner choice! Server Jazmin was in training with Zee and they both made sure we were taken care of. Attentive, informative with great recommendations! I had the limited time Birria Ramen and my fiance had the Spicy Chicken Ramen! Add broccolini and the crispy chicken 🤤Food was impeccable and came out quickly! Music had a funky cool feel. Dim lighting made it feel so cozy! Would recommend!! 10/10 and yes, we WILL be back!! Strawberry lychee-tini was a little sweet but so damn good!! Really cool presentation on the Smoked Old Fashioned and that too was really yummy! Arigato!! 😁

We had an incredible time. We came with our 3-year-old daughter. She loves this type of food. The flavor is delicious, and we loved the appetizers. The service is incredible, always super understanding and loving. He served us Alp and recommended some fabulous appetizers. I recommend him 100% out of 100.

I don't even know where to start. The gyozas and the ramen were amazing. So goooooood. The broth was very rich and concentrated. The chasu tasted great and the texture was just perfect. Not much fat (which i love). The watermelon drink was very refreshing and the tiramisu was delicious. It was a combination of sweet and bitterness but good bitterness from the matcha. Our server Andrea was over the top. I will definitely come back. Recommend!

I’ve been to this Jinya location many times and have tried all of their halal/vegan/vegetarian friendly ramen options, every single one has been amazing! Have also tried some of their appetizers such as the tacos, shrimp, and edamame which were great. Noise level is kinda loud, especially during evenings/rush hour. But you can still hear those sitting close to you. Can get pretty crowded. Kid friendly but again noise may be too much for some little ones. Location is wheelchair accessible. Parking is free in parking garage and the walk over is two to three minutes. The garage is a bit small so may take a while to find a free parking spot. The dim lighting creates a cozy and relaxing ambiance. Service is friendly and helpful, though expect some wait time during peak hours, whether it's for a table or your order. Despite the rush, the staff are always sweet and ready to assist. Overall, definitely recommend checking out Jinya if you're in the mood for delicious ramen in a fun, lively atmosphere.
