The 16 Best Ramen Shops in Houston - Eater Houston

"This California-based ramen chain is currently staking a bigger presence in Houston, but for now head to Midtown for a bowl of ridiculously creamy tonkotsu broth and springy, fresh noodles. Venture out of the typical offerings with the shrimp wonton ramen or the luscious tonkotsu black ramen, made with fatty pork and a black garlic oil. Vegetarians can also chow down here on veggie ramen bowls packed with tofu, broccolini, corn, green onion, and more." - Brittany Britto Garley

The 16 Best Bars and Restaurants in MIdtown Houston | Eater Houston

"Jinya takes a slow approach to its ramen, with broth that’s simmer for 20-plus hours. The menu includes vegetarian, began and gluten-free options, plus non-ramen items like mini poke tacos, rice bowls, and tempura vegetables." - Brittanie Shey

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, especially after seeing so many highly rated reviews. Unfortunately, the Premium Tonkotsu Red ramen fell flat for me—the broth was just okay, the pork was bland, and the portion only included two very small pieces. For the price point, the portion didn’t quite feel worth it compared to other ramen spots I’ve tried. On a positive note, the salmon poke tacos were delicious, the ambiance was great, and the service was quick and attentive. I really wanted to love the ramen, but it just didn’t meet expectations.

Jinya curated my top five ramen list. We ordered the Spicy Vegan Ramen and the Spicy Chicken Ramen, both of which were exquisite. The vegan ramen had plain tofu, absolutely no flavour. I prefer fried or at least sautéed. The Brussels sprouts were also fried, and we enjoyed them. Had to wait over 30 minutes on a Friday night for a table for 2. There was no option for a reservation.

I had a wonderful visit to this bar! The atmosphere is really interesting—both beautiful and full of unique design elements. There’s a large communal table, perfect for bringing friends and enjoying a stylish gathering, while smaller tables along the sides make the space feel cozy and intimate. The food is delicious and fresh. I’m a big fan of Japanese cuisine, and I highly recommend trying the crab salad. It’s wonderfully balanced with a hint of lime and crisp greens, all served with a crunchy galette. Truly a delightful experience!

The spicy chicken & lychee ramen has me in a chokehold. it’s my order every single time and I refuse to switch it up. And let’s talk about the Brussels sprouts… absolutely out of this world. flavorful, and addictive. Bonus points for staying open late and having free parkingbecause sometimes a bowl of ramen is the only thing that makes sense. Jinya, I love you. Forever a favorite.

Baisak gave us an Awesome service. That why this ramen place deserve 5 stars Ramen was good. The broth is nature. The thick noodle is amazing. Especially, the miso glazed eggplant tastes so delicious. I would come to this restaurant next time

this jinya location is one of me and my boyfriends favorite late night dates. We’ve been coming here pretty consistently for about a year and a half now and we’ve always had a really great experience. The servers and hostesses have always been really nice. We become so frequent that they literally hit us with that welcome back or ask if we want what we usually get which could be kind of humbling at times because we come so much but it’s always been really great. The food is always fresh and the one time there was like a noodle mixup. They fixed it with literally no problem. And it doesn’t really matter how late you come so always get you in and out with fresh food. I 100% recommend it for a date night.

Both patty and Azim were both wonderful servers and bartenders. I can’t lie though Ezeeme had patty beat with the Smokey Wokashi cocktail it was spot on. I’ll definitely be back. I would recommend JINYA Ramen bar to anybody in the city no doubt!!

Our server, Azim, was helpful and friendly, as it was our first time at JINYA. He warned us about the spice level and was 100% right🥵! The music was a liiiiiiitle loud, but the food was delicious. The Demon Slayer Chef Special was *chef's kiss* very well balanced. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!
