Best Restaurants Near American Airlines Center | Eater Dallas

"On those days when a steamy bowl of ramen is all that will do, this fast-casual chain hits the spot, serving an array of soupy, springy bowls of noodles, with plenty of options for those who are vegan or vegetarian. The menu goes far beyond ramen, with dishes like tacos, salads, rice and curry bowls, and shareable plates of Japanese dishes, such as salmon sashimi, corn or Brussels sprouts tempura, garlic shrimp spring rolls, and pork gyoza. The Tonkotsu Spicy bowl with pork is a must-order fiery dish laced in a spicy sauce that will awaken the senses. Jinya goes out of its way with Japanese-inspired decor, including a beautiful mural and ornate decor touches all over." - Courtney E. Smith

The Best Ramen in Houston | Eater Houston

"This California-based ramen chain is currently staking a bigger presence in Houston, but for now head to Midtown for a bowl of ridiculously creamy tonkotsu broth and springy, fresh noodles. Venture out of the typical offerings with the shrimp wonton ramen or the luscious tonkotsu black ramen, made with fatty pork and a black garlic oil. Vegetarians can also chow down here on veggie ramen bowls packed with tofu, broccolini, corn, green onion, and more." - Brittany Britto Garley

Google
We were looking for a place to eat! We asked the front desk person if we could check the menu. He was friendly and so helpful and we asked him what he would recommend for me since I don’t eat any spicy food… he said we can order anything but without spicy. We ordered the spicy vegan ramen without spicy and it was incredible! It turned out to be the best meal! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! Ashley, our server was amazing and kind and also made some great recommendations. We got the Brussels sprouts and they were so good! They had so many vegan options. Thank you!

Charla was so wonderful sweet, delightful, very knowledgeable about the menu. Her suggestions were on point for what I was looking for. Will be back again loved the atmosphere!

Google
Jinya was my first ramen experience. It did not disappoint! Jessie gave me a great recommendations. I went with the spicy chicken ramen with added corn and bamboo shoots. The bowl that was set in front of me was giant. It was so flavorful and filling! I also ordered the Yuzu margarita and it was fantastic! Thank you for the experience and great food.

Google
Been coming here for about 8 years but it wasn’t until today we received the upmost amazing service from Arturo. Was honest about the beers, drinks, bowls and ramens. We got the spicy chicken ramen, salmon poke tacos which were fire 11/10 and also his favorite, Moscow mule, a draft beer, pork rice bowl and a chicken rice bowl. Everything was amazing as always. 10/10 recommend.

Google
Dasha was amazing ! She made our experience really nice and got us to try some new things we don’t normally try ! I loved the buffalo cauliflower. Everything was amazing and as usual the atmosphere is always great ! Super friendly staff

Google
I’ve been here many times but today was the first time I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen. The broth was really good, thin noodles were great, and the chicken was juicy but bland. The Tonkutso Black was also okay… I enjoyed the Pork Buns much more than the ramen. I also ordered the Matcha Lychee Lemonade with a shot of Vodka…. The best !!!

Ashley Moreno

Google
Ashley F is absolutely amazing! she goes above and beyond to make sure the experience is perfect. She’s attentive, friendly, and always has a warm smile that makes you feel welcome. H, she’s quick to offer excellent recommendations. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers and enjoys what she does. Thank you, Ashley, for making every visit such a pleasure!

Yelp
Ordered a shrimp ramen and added a side of wontons. Love their flavorful broth. Noodles and wontons have a perfect texture.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Food- I have a soft spot for fatty ramen, and JINYA delivers on my craving for ramen every time I go. I recommend the JINYA Bun and Brussels Sprouts for your appetizers and the Tonkotsu Black for your main, but all of their dishes deliver on various fronts. The eggs are cooked perfectly, their broths are always full of flavor, and their rice dishes are no slouch either. This place is truly great for a get together with friends or family, or even just a comfort meal for yourself. Service- Servers are kind with their signature greeting and exit being extremely welcoming to the environment. My only complaint is the wait the often occurs into the dinner hours of the restaurant, which can often be up to an hour on busy weekends. Ambiance- Dark and moody with loud music in the restaurant. Not my personal taste in restaurant setting due to the low visibility, but the restaurant decorations and the middle table provide a nice touch to the culinary experience. I have a lot of love for this place. After eating ramen in New York, my family returned with a new hunger for quality ramen, and JINYA often provided on all fronts. Although it has its faults, I do recommend coming here for a great meal!

Yelp
Great food but always pretty packed when I've gone and the service is a bit slow. The Brussels sprouts are amazing.

Yelp
Awesome vibe and even better food. Had both the spicy tuna and salmon poke mini tacos - Amazing! Raw with unique tasty shell. Pork Gyoza (dumplings/potstickers) were the best I've had. Excellent service. Draft Hopadillo IPA was fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Last night I decided to order the Spicy Chicken Wonton Ramen, which was really delicious and flavorful with really tasty dumplings and noodles. The dumplings have a captivating, unique taste. Same with the noodles tasting buttery in a way. The spinach and green onions were a great mix in the meal adding a minor earthiness. The broth was just a little spicy, not greasy but made perfectly, ricey in taste to a very mild degree, noticeably gingery and nicely aromatic. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Just about everything you order from Jinya is so good imo, whether it's ramen, curry, appetizers, drinks or mochi ice cream.

Yelp
I was feeling like trying a new Ramen place today, so my husband and I headed out to Webster to JINYA Ramen Bar. The place is beautiful, and so cozy. Staff is super nice and service is quick. We had the pork gyoza for appetizer, pan fried to perfection super juicy and tasty I ordered the JINYA tonkotzu black Ramen, it was amazing! so rich, the intense flavor of the charred pork comes through, the pork was very tender just melts in your mouth, great noodles, and fresh green onions, this was definitely my favorite. My husband had the Spicy Chicken ramen, this was so good, the flavor of the broth is like roasted chicken and fresh herbs, chicken is tender, great choice if you don't eat pork. We will come back for more.

Yelp
No matter all the ramen places I just love Jinya.. we always end up with the same waiter and his always does an amazing job. The food is delicious. restaurant nice and clean .

Yelp
Was looking for a gluten free option for dinner. We attempted to eat here based on the corporate website and was told I could just basically get something with rice noodles and make it less gluten
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent experience at Jinya near NASA. I ordered the spicy pork Tonkatsu, fried japanese chicken, and the takoyaki. The ramen broth was rich and savory and the char sieu was very tender and not too fatty. The chicken Karaage was especially good - very crispy, flavorful and including the skin which almost made it taste like chicharron. The takoyaki was excellent as well. Service was prompt and friendly as well.

Yelp
This was our second visit. It had been years . The first time we were overwhelmed by the menu and not sure we liked what we ended up with. This time my hubby and I went with my cousin and a friend, who recommended several items, and gave us pointers which helped us choose and enjoy- Vegan Harvest, Jinya buns, salmon sushi, and a spicy chicken bowl. I wish the staff would take a little more time to explain and suggest. The atmosphere is a little tight, and we were a bit too "cozy" with our neighbors. The food was awesome. We will return to try some more dishes.

Yelp
Went to eat this past week and the service was amazing! There was a mix up with our alcoholic drinks, and the manager was sweet enough to let us keep it and bring the original drink we had ordered. Food was awesome with great flavor!! Mochi ice cream is a must, if you haven't tried it yet. Great workers, awesome manager
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
I went there for my son's birthday party with no reservations and they had no problem getting us in. I hadn't been there in a couple years. And nothing's changed everything was delicious and good service was good thank you guys.

Yelp
Flavor flavor flavor!!! I tried this place after leaving the space center. Was in the mood for Pho and it was nearby. My brother ordered the spicy chicken pho and loved every bite. I love that you can get a noodle refill for your remaining broth. I ordered a vegan bao bun taco small plate. It was okay. Tasted as expected. But my main dish was a vegan rice bowl. It was so good!!!! Very flavorful and the perfect amount of food. I ordered the small bowl which left me satisfied and not stuffed. But after tasting it I wish I had gotten a large to have more for later. Drink wise I ordered a lychee mojito that was pretty refreshing. It had a bit more sprite than I cared for but it was still good. My brother and I both got margaritas. His peach margarita was very tasty and was festive. It came with a "light show" lol. I ordered the mango pineapple margarita....so good. Perfect. Lastly I wanted to to try the salmon poke tacos. The salmon isn't cooked just fyi. They were tasty. Kind of give ceviche vibes. The service was great here. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server Arturo was patient and explained a lot of dishes to us and checked for any food allergies. Overall we enjoyed this place and I will be back again when I visit Houston

Yelp
Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the original ramen and the flavor was so good. Prices are a little high and the place is pretty small.

Yelp
Wow! Love their food. Hostess needs some manners! We were told it was a 20 minute wait. There was an empty two top and empty seats at the bar. I asked could we eat at the bar. "nope". So okay we will wait. Then she gave us our buzzer and said we could wait outside. I said it's raining and cold. She said, "okay wait in your car". Wow! We drove 30 minutes from Galveston to eat there! Really "wait on your car! Don't send people to their car when there are empty seats at the bar! Well don't ever do that.

Nilanjan B.

Yelp
Great food. Very busy. Good ambiance. There may be a little wait before being seated but it is worth it

Yelp
One of the key things I always look for when visiting different locations of a favorite restaurant is consistency--across food, service, and ambiance. This spot absolutely nailed it! I had my usual go-to, and it was just as incredible as always. Brought a coworker along, and they loved it too. The food, the service, the atmosphere--it all hit the mark. Keep up the fantastic work, and stay consistent. You've definitely earned another loyal fan!
google avatar

Kim T.

Yelp
The staff here were all nice. It did take awhile to get the waiter's attention to get my water refilled, though. The ramen was okay. The price for the portion was reasonable but the quality wasn't. I didn't like the broth and it tasted a bit bland. The chashu pork now is different from how it was years ago. At first, I didn't like it but I don't mind it now. The light is dimmed inside so it's easy on the eyes. If you plan to take pictures of the foods or a selfie, you will have to use flash.

Yelp
Jinya always makes sure that I finish first. Love these guys. I don't believe in polygamy, however I would make an exception for the Jinya franchise. (Pls contact me at jinyafan420@gmail.com)

Yelp
My favorite ramen bar! Love love this restaurant for the ambiance, aesthetic of the design, always delicious food, they're very friendly staff and quick service. I honestly have never had a bad experience here and I been coming for about 8 years? Haha. My favorite ramen is always the Tonkotsu spicy, love their jinya bun- amazing even the karaage (fried chicken) for appetizers. They just have a ton of options and even sometimes have chef specials on ramen or other small plates. You will for sure always have a great experience. You also will always see the manager helping out or checking to see if you are enjoying your meal. Just be mindful that parking can get a little hectic since it is a busy strip with other restaurants next door but it is a pretty big parking lot and have a couple reserved spots for Jinya customers, so you should be fine.
google avatar

Janel R.

Yelp
I ordered chicken ramen for pick up because I didn't have to dine-in. Ordering process was super easy online with the convenience of paying at the restaurant. They gave me a bag with my food and I left, didn't pay much attention to it bc the hostess confirmed what I had ordered & it was correct. When I get back to Baytown this is what I see (pictures below) That's how much I normally have left over when I dine in!!!! They charged FULL PRICE with a serving that didn't even fill the to-go bowl. This place is a total rip off if you order to go. The same amount of food should be given for to-go orders, specially if charging the same price. Very disappointed, specially for having to drive 30 minutes for a leftovers serving
google avatar

Brenda S.

Yelp
The ramen is always fantastic. Best in LC for sure. The takoyaki is also amazing. I mostly get take out but the dining area is nice with dim lighting and a little music. Usually not very loud but can get tight when it's busy. Have had any issues with service though.

Yelp
Why on earth did it take me so long to try Jinya?! I've known about this place for years, but for whatever reason, I never made an effort to eat here. There's no better time to try ramen than on a cold day, so Justin T. and I made our way over to Jinya so I could finally have my first true ramen experience. We were seated at the large communal table in the center of the restaurant. They did have seating at the bar as well as some booths on the perimeter of the restaurant. At some point, it got really loud and it was hard to have a conversation, but at least the playlist was good. Our server was Cheyenne. She was really nice and attentive! If there's a cucumber cocktail on a menu, you best believe I'll be ordering it. I had the Cucumber Martini and it was amazing! For my meal, I ordered a combo of Chicken Ramen with Crispy Chicken and Salad. Crispy Chicken and Salad - The chicken was very crispy and seasoned well! I squeezed the lemon slice on the chicken and it was so delicious! The lemon juice also brought out the flavor of the ginger dressing on the salad. I loved it! The salad was pretty simple, but that dressing really elevated it. Chicken Ramen - So good and flavorful! The broth had a nice umami flavor/sensation and it was very savory. I enjoyed the scallions and noodles too. I wasn't able to eat it all so I had some for left overs the next day and it was even better because it had more flavor! Brussels Sprouts Tempura - This was probably my favorite dish that I had. It was absolutely amazing! I loved it with the soy sauce and the spicy mayo. The mayo wasn't too spicy for me surprisingly. The soy sauce was good, but extremely salty. Every time I would dip my food in it, I immediately had to take a sip of water. If they could reduce the salt, it would be perfect. This was a fantastic meal and I can't wait to try some of the other menu items!

Yelp
Here for dase 17th bday dinner. Food is great. He's happy. Everyone got a bowl of Ramen and loved it!

Yelp
Originally I was going to give this review 3 stars due to my first experience. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I thought my server was okay but she didn't look like she wanted to be there. She was just going through the motions. I decided to come back and give it another go & this time around our server was fantastic. Kudos to Yovanna for her awesome service. Here are the items I've ordered. * Spicy Unami miso ramen- fairly decent. The broth had good flavor. The egg was cooked to my liking, runny & gooey on the inside. The ground pork was meh. I also didn't think they gave me enough veggies. 3.4/5 * Brussels sprout tempura- nice light crunch & good amount of salt on the outside. The spicy mayo was delicious. 4.5/5 * Gluten free ramen- the broth was light & creamy. It did need some more seasoning to give it oomph but the broth was not bad. The chicken was tendered. 4/5 * Tonkotsu black- this bowl was full of flavor. The pork broth was creamy & had a good amount of salt. The chashu melted in my mouth & the egg was cooked to perfection. 4.5/5 * Panna cotta- delicious. It wasn't overly sweet which is good for me. The caramel added a nice sweetness to it. It tasted like flan with vanilla ice cream. 4.6/5 Overall it was a great experience the 2nd time around. I was going to give it a 3 but I'm glad I gave it another chance. The decor is nice & a little more spacious then the other Jinya's. Will I come back? Yes.

Yelp
Looking for some flavorful ramen?! This is the place for it. Great vibe, food is delicious, a great selection of cocktails and draft beers. Plus, super clean. Thank you.

Yelp
My friends and I love this ramen bar! I have been to the NASA location and the one in Downtown Houston, both awesome! I will say it is very loud in this restaurant, but we don't mind that. The food is very good and everything is customizable so you're sure to find something that you will love!
google avatar

Taylor A.

Yelp
Have been here a few times and absolutely love it. We order extra needles at the end to take home with us since there's always extra broth. Big servings with the option to add extras like eggs and other items. Excellent service, it's a little cramped in there but not in a bad way. Can be quite loud but will happily return.
google avatar

Yelp
Today is a great day for ramen at Jinya NASA location. Cool and drizzly is the perfect weather to get some hot ramen. Even the basic chicken ramen is beyond great!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic Japanese restaurant near NASA! I ordered a bum and a mild spicy chicken Ramen. I was really impressed with the pork jelly in the bum! The Ramen tasted perfect as well. Also, their service was really passionate! I love this place!

Yelp
The impossible tacos are amazing ok!! I stopped by after reading reading this location has vegan options ! When I walked in the ambiance and set up wowed me! So open and modern With plenty of seating! Was greeted immediately and was given options to have a seat The spicy creamy vegan ramen was good, I do wish it included more veggies and more fire, lol. I added bamboo shoots and broccolini for an additional cost.

Yelp
Five stars for customer service and interior design. Loved the vibe inside the restaurant. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted. I ordered to-go, so they offered me a menu and asked if I wanted to sit. I went to the bar, where Peyton again greeted me and asked if I had been there before. Since this was my first time he wanted to make sure he explained the menu and offered suggestions. He was very passionate about his job and sincere with his suggestions. Loved his personality. Now for the food. I give it 3 stars. Not the worst but not the best just so so. I ordered the fried chicken, jalapeño corn and the spicy tuna tacos. I will say skip the corn. It's over priced and the name sounds better than the taste. To me it was Darcie, I believe the manager was super nice and attentive. When she brought my food out she explained that if I needed to warm my items there was a QR code on the bag with warming instructions and also suggested that I try some of the sauces on my chicken. She suggested that I squeeze the lemon juice on the chicken and try using the spicy mayo as a dipping sauce. That was a great suggestion. It did add extra flavor. I appreciated that they labeled my items. Thank you. All in all I will give them 4 stars.

Yelp
As promised this is the first place I stop when I'm back in town! Finally remembered to take photos of my usuals! As always everything was delicious, service was friendly and quick, and the inside was cleaned and organized! This location runs great and the workers all seem to work together great! Love love love this place!

Yelp
I LOVE JINYA! I probably come here way too often but I love a place that I know I can count on for consistency. The service is welcoming and fast while also making you feel catered too. Food is awesome! For starters I am a big fan of the shrimp tempura or takoyaki. As for ramen I highly recommend the Jinya chicken or tonkotsu Spicy. The California Poke Bowl is also great ! Always hot and very filling.
google avatar

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Jinya has amazing ramen dishes and is a great option when you are craving ramen. I loved the long table and decoration at this location and the staff were all very nice and welcoming. I decided to order the Jinya chicken ramen which was perfect for my taste of being on the lighter side but still having a great flavor profile. The soup was creamy and really was the star of the show. The noodles were chewy and the chicken was really tender. I definitely want to try their appetizers and drinks next time!

Jonah D.

Yelp
Great place for ramen and has great atmosphere with a wide variety of food. We ate at the bar and got an old fashioned which was spot on. The bartender was very nice, would come again.

Adriana C.

Yelp
Went there for the first time last night and everything there was delicious. The crispy chicken was absolutely amazing and mouthwatering, highly recommend it!! Had the tonkotsu original 2010 ramen, so worth eating and full of flavor!!!

Yelp
Ok, so I saw review after review talking about the vegan ramens and the superiority of the Creamy Spicy Vegan Ramen. I didn't believe that they could seriously be that different, so I had to try it out for myself. Hands-down, if I had tried the vegan ramen with the broccolini, I wouldn't have ever come back. Management, you should take this off the menu, legitimately. It's not good, and it probably turns away customers that would have u doubtlessly returned if they tried a better meal. I legit left half of it behind. SOOOOO IF ANYONE IS DEBATING WHICH OF THE TWO RAMENS TO GET, THE ONLY OPTION IS THE CREAMY SPICY VEGAN RAMEN! Now that one is Bomb! Only reason I came back! I love the fact I even have a vegan option available in Texas! So stars for that! However, skip the impossible vegan tacos. Complete waste of money and don't taste that good for a maximum of 4 bites that cost $7. 100% overpriced... service was ok, but every server acts like they've either only worked there a week or literally never tried a single item on the menu. So, I'll basically be back for the ramen.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food, great atmosphere & customer service! Would 10/10 recommend to everyone!

Yelp
Checked into lunch early today and got warmed up to my favorite ramen soup. Everyone coming and going kept the place nicely humming. Really felt warm and comfy today. And everybody was welcoming us since we had not visited since before the New Year. D'Arcy was on the spot greeting guests and making sure our dishes came out great. And they were. Thanks to the whole team.

Yelp
Drove past this place the other day. I put it on my list of things to try out since I'm new here to the area. I felt under weather today. What a perfect time to get some ramen. It was very simple to order online picked out everything I wanted and sent my fiancé to go pick it up. When he came home I ran over to get my get my stuff and it was all packed separately which was a great idea so it doesn't get soggy. The pork buns were packed with flavor so juicy and tender. Super delicious my fiancé took one on me. The ramen was perfect not too hot and not spicy at all it was full of flavor. It was a good size portion I could t finish it all. The pork gyoza was good as well the sauce had a little kick to it definitely clear out my sinuses for sure. I will definitely be back for more

Yelp
JINYA Ramen Bar has some of the best ramen I've ever had. The service is wonderful and the staff are nice and hospitable. The décor and space inside is lovely. If you don't like ramen, they've got rice dishes and sushi platters. While I was there, me and a friend of mine tried one of their limited time specials, curry rice-cheese croquettes. They were so good! The spicy chicken ramen I ordered, you can pick what spice level you want. You can also create your own ramen bowls. The noodles vary in thickness for each type of ramen bowl. They offer plenty of vegan options. I know everything they cook is homemade. JINYA Ramen was an awesome experience. Minor downsides: JINYA Ramen Bar is located in a small strip, by a busy street. Parking space is limited, and they've got stiff competition with the Korean BBQ next door. I can't wait to come back here again.

Luis M.

Yelp
The food was delicious, I always love getting the spicy creamy vegan and our server Ashley F gave us great service and recommending the crispy chicken.
google avatar

Yelp
This is funny as this will be my third review, reviewing a jinya bar here in Texas. So far we have visited their Austin, Dallas and now Houston location. The food is great like all the other location. We love their chicken base and to katsu base ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly with the right texture. And my kids always their kids menu as they offer such a variety just for 12.99$. So worth it! The only downside for this location was, how dark the inside was. You could barely read their menu. But other than that. Solid ramen place for sure!
google avatar

Cheryl C.

Yelp
Gluten Free options listed on menu, but they are not gluten free admittedly by waiter. Reactions to that which were labeled as gf had created physical reactions in patrons. Very loud!

Yelp
Let me start by saying we eat here every Sunday night of the year, to-go. This is probably my favorite meal ever. I've always gotten the tonkontsu spicy, but per the recent menu change, I first tried to order the regular tonkontsu and added spicy in hopes of it tasting the same, but it wasn't spicy at all. So this time I tried to order the Tonkontsu red. When given then option of 1-10 for spice level I chose 4. I received my order and it was so spicy my husband and I couldn't eat it and he loves extra spicy. I called in, to speak to a manager and was told level 4 was "inferno" level spicy and basically was told, "sorry", not "hey, can we make you another soup?" My question is if level 4 is inferno, is level 10 "death"? We literally threw out the broth, and just ate the noodles and our mouths were STILL on fire. If a manager describes level 4 as "inferno" then please note that for customers ordering when given the option of 1-10 for spicy, because NO one would think a level 4 would be "inferno" level. It is not possible for there to be a level 10 hot if what we ate was only a 4 and "inferno" hot. Could the chef have put too much spice in ours and it was prob a level of 7 or 8? Yes, but we did not get a level 4, and the customer service response I received from the manager was disheartening since we eat here every week.

Yelp
I've always loved this place but tonight I had extremely exceptional service. I highly recommend asking for Dante. He was extremely sweet was on top of everything and went above and beyond!
