Everything I have bought and eaten from JJ bakery on Nogales in Rowland Heights has been incredibly amazing so tasty and yummy. Everything they make is extremely delicious. Highly recommend it in a few weeks. I will order my first cake from JJ bakery for my nephew Anthony‘s 43rd birthday. Thank you JJ bakery. So very happy with all you do keep up the good work. I have been coming on and off for years to JJ Bakery. I like that they sell whole cakes, long cakes, mini cakes and slices of cakes as well. I recently saw that they started to sell iced teas. They open at 8 AM but open the doors a little earlier; which is great! My go to cake is their mango and tiramisu. They pack it so nice in a cute polka dot bag and give you a cake cutter and candles/happy birthday sign if you request it. Very clean and friendly people.

for our party we had the pre-cut vanilla cake with fruit toppings. it was perfect, the cake is moist not dry, icing not too sweet, great to pair with coffee or simply by itself as a dessert. great customer service too, they kept the cake reserved until we arrived it was traffic so we were very late to pick it up.

sweets, desserts and pastries galore. def diabetic haven but thats for another subject. 1st thing i notice was the cleanliness of the store, thats always a PLUS !! the desserts are delicious, yummy and our tummies was thankful for it. super friendly workers behind the counter, another PLUS. for sure will be coming back sooner than later to try out their many sweet pastries & prices are so reasonable and its not too far of a drive.

I was craving an afternoon snack and specifically looking for something sweet while DD wanted a sando or something savory. When we arrived, most of their drinks and sandwiches were sold out. The breaded chicken sando was okay. The pork sung bun was nice and chewy. I also got the last 2 souffle cheesecake in a cup. There was that golden top with a character outlined and a surprising creamy cheesecake bottom (where it's generally just soft cake vs whipped cream cheesey filling).

Wow, it's been almost 2 years since my last review. Time for an update... there was no other customer in the shop at the time of my entry, however, they all seem to swarm in afterwards... ten million of them... okay, maybe only 5 people. It never fails LOL. I just seem to attract people. Staff was awaiting to assist as needed. Shop was clean and organized. Cakes and pastries were ready to be purchased. Anyway, I came here to buy some sponge cake that my sister-in-law had recommended in the past. It's called the Hokkaido Chiffon. It comes with 6 in a box. So I got 2 boxes to make it an even dozen. So very good... spongy soft cake with light cream in the middle and powdered sugar on top. YUMMY! I like to bring a little something whenever I visit my friends house. I don't like to visit empty handed. She was gracious to hold a hotppt gathering for my milestone b-day. Thank you my dear friend! The Hokkaido Chiffon was a nice complement to the hotpot meal and homemade pineapple cake. I look forward to trying JJ Bakery other unique pastries and cakes. Glad they have a shop in Rowland Heights. Otherwise, I would have had to choose another bakery for pastries in the Orange County area.

I came only to purchase a birthday cake. I got the traditional cake with fresh strawberry filling inside. The cake was spongy, the strawberries inside were fresh, the fruit in top were pretty good too. My parents say this bakery is famous and has been here for a long time. I would say that the cake that I got was pretty good. Service was good too. Place was clean.

I love JJ's Bakery. The people are always very nice. I typically visit this store and the Halliburton store. I love the cream cakes they make the best gift when you going to visit someone or for an office meeting. They have a variety of yummy breads with and without nuts. Strangely my 92 Year old mom loves their hotdog cheese bread. Hmm. They have dessert cakes and birthday cakes. On occasion they offer hot foods. During the celebration of the lunar new year you can purchase your gift boxes here. If you haven't visited a JJ's Bakery this is definitely a must try. Becareful you may get hooked on the cream puffs!!

I come here ever so often, despite the long drive. It is the only bakery my parents approve of for their taro and red bean cake. Whenever I order cakes, they are always very light and fluffy and never dry. I always do a pre-order on my cakes as whenever I've done a walk in to look at cakes there never seems to be any cakes. The smaller cakes and pastries are also very delicious. I would recommend getting their Hokkaido Chiffon. They come with 6 in a box and they are absolutely delicious.

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my drink from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is fricken massive. Take your pick of parking spots. There are so many for you to choose from. Drink: I ordered a jasmine green tea. This drink is very refreshing and floral. Perfect for a hot day. Staff: The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

This is 1 of our local bakeries where we go stock up on our breakfast items for a week some times if we don't go shopping at a price club. Their breakfast sandwiches are very reasonably priced and hope they stay that way. I can find their egg tarts were always freshly baked. I only rated it 4-stars because some times I would miss their egg tart sales: I wonder why they don't have those available for sale all day?! We also buy birthday cakes here too because they wrap them in an upscale manner: be back again to stock up! Will need to dig through my camera roll for pics if I saved any or wait to the next visit.

Looks clean inside the bakery, they got a nice selection of breads and cakes. The fruits look fresh. compare to other bakeries I've been to. The service is quick and staffs are friendly.

Like other reviewers have said; very low quality and bad tasting pastries. The almond croissant tasted like they forgot to put sugar and the puff pastry dough was still raw. And the workers looked tired and sad.

They have different flavors or bread. Their Fan Tuan (rice wrapped with Chinese donut, pork sung, and other ingredients) is so good! I love that they have bakery bread burgers!! And the Chinese sandwiches are so delicious!! Their Dan Ta (egg custards) is so delicious! I think they're better than the ones in China town. They're big and not as sweet as the China town Dan Ta. They have birthday cakes. They also have a separate but connected restaurant to eat in. They have authentic Taiwanese food!

Service is slow esp if the person in front of you takes their sweet time. However, that Taiwanese chunky egg tart triumphs that wait. The crust had a nice crisp and the tart had just the right amount of sweetness. The savory breads were good, nothing too spectacular. They also carry different types of small bread options, I got the sesame bread which was like a tough chewy mochi type, I thought it was different and it would probably taste great warmed up with butter! They had some soft sponge cakes, they were pretty decent. Inside is just the bakery and there are no tables or chairs. There's no drink menu. No restroom. There are full-sized cakes, I only saw 8" rounds and cake slices which looked good. They also had some individual desserts like mango pudding cups and small take-away meat options to add to some dishes.

This bakery is in Diamond Bar. The bread and buns are very good. Many varieties to choose from. I usually go there once a week. Sometime they have sales and it's like cake delicious. You need to go there and buy some to try it. Once you go there you will go there every week like me.

Came here first thing in the morning to get a birthday cake. They had lots to choose from even though I didn't pre-order. I haven't had their cakes in long time, but it was as good as I remembered. Ended up getting a chocolate cake with chocolate filling. I added the whisky bottles on top of the cake. They provide candles, cutting knife and a happy birthday sign. The woman at the store was really helpful in helping me choose a cake. She made sure to tell me the one I chose didn't have any fruit fillings and asked if I was ok with it. Also ordered separately a slice of their mango cake and a cappuccino cake. Even though it was only 8:30am, there was already a small line. Make sure to have enough time for yourself. They also had ton of other pastries and breads but didn't have time to browse. Next time!

The price of JJ bakery is really inexpensive in comparison to other places but you get what you pay for. The flavors are lacking and the bread isn't the best texture- almost felt stale. We also got pound cake which really disappointing not the right texture consistency or taste. The hotdog was ok and probably the best thing we got. The pork sung with char siu had mostly onions and no meat and was way too sweet. Although the staff is nice, I don't think I'll be back.

I used to have to go to Nogales to get bread from jj bakery but this location is slightly closer to where my sister lives. The coffee walnut toast and sesame toast is the best. I think while i was there i went at least two times just to get the walnut coffee toast. It was freshly baked i could of eaten the whole loaf in one setting. The sesame bread was good but much denser bread and more filling but i would get both next time i am there.

The review is for the bad customer Service on their Elephant stamp card , where for every $5 spent you got one stamp . Just bought some bread almost $9 and paid and got my stamp and walked out and realized at the bottom of the screen I got free cookies which valid from June to Sept 7,2021. Since today is the 1 st , I went back and asked where if the free cookies and they show me which one and I picked one and they told me sorry can't use it for today . Have to come back for next purchase . The problem is there is nothing in the app screen said it valid for next purchase only . They keep said no, and no manager available . Very deceiving and bad training . Very disappointed as I am a very long customer and very bad customer service .

They have varieties of Asian pastries. My mom feel like eating some Wife pastry.l so We bought a box of 6 and the noticed pastry don't indicate date baked and no expiration date afterwards. They were sold in store without refrigeration either. She ate one found salty and sour at first. I grabbed and found it was all black molds. We experienced their bread got green moldy an year ago. We stop buying from JJ for almost an year. Their business model is "NO Waste " and would rather have consumers take a chance.

Pre-ordered a birthday cake and part of me was afraid I would be given one of the days old cakes on display because I was told I could not customize. So I specially asked if the cake would be made fresh. I picked up the cake today and it was definitely old cake. Not even 1 day old but days old. I've ordered from other JJ locations before without issues. Buyer beware for this location. Needless to say I wouldn't be back to this location.

We were looking to buy a birthday cake for my boyfriend's sister, and we decided on JJ Bakery. We decided on the coffee chiffon cake with strawberry filling, and the cakes tasted exactly like from my childhood memories. The cake was slightly sweet and fluffy and was loaded with fresh fruit on top. It was a beautiful cake.

This was my first time at this particular JJ Bakery to pick up a few pastries. I came around 11am and half of the pastry selection was already wiped out. It seemed they may have been understaffed as I saw at least 8-10 trays of baked goods behind the counter (unwrapped) and there was only one cashier with about 6 people in line. Selected about 7 different pastries for $13 total which was decently priced. I tried the green onion bread and pineapple bun. The green onion bread was a disappointment - all the green onion was mainly on one side, heavily seasoned with pepper, and very oily. Considering there are so many other bakeries like this, I'd probably go to another one this time. However, I do love the JJ Bakery taro cakes and will keep coming back for that!

I haven't been here since I was a kid and yet everything still looks the same but most importantly it all tastes the same. I got a little bit of everything , from the slices of cakes to the bakery items you get yourself and everything we got tasted so fresh and so yummy! The service was fast , and the cashier was really friendly! So glad I got to find this place , it brought back childhood memories !

I love their taro cake! Everyone always compliments it whenever I bring it to a celebration. For $28 it's such a good price for a cake like this. They also give you candles and a cake cutter (: I'll have to try their other cakes one day but I'll make the 20 min drive from fullerton for the taro cake alone!

I grew up with JJ bakery and, like many children, was always disappointed that we had another vanilla and fruit cake instead of a rich chocolate caramel, rolled in sugar, cake from an "American bakery". Well, I was wrong. I'm older, wiser, and my palate is far more sophisticated. I love the cakes here now, especially the taro cake we got for my mother's birthday. Ordered it about 24 hours in advance. Showed up 15 minutes before my pickup time and they were still making it FRESH. Cake came out beautiful and they included candles and a happy birthday sign complimentary. Fed 8 people with about half a cake still left, about $30. My mother loved it and everyone in our party raved about how delicious it was. Pretty sure I've already got my birthday cake picked out for next year.

We have purchased birthday cakes from this location before and they were all delicious. This was our first time getting pastry buns from here. We got the Earl Grey and Creme Brulee flavors. I preferred the Earl Grey one over the Creme Brulee, only because I am a big fan of Earl Grey tea, and also because the Creme Brulee filling wasn't present all the way through the entire bun.

We wanted a variation of an existing JJ cake for our baby's special 1st birthday. JJ hit it out of the park and helped us to create a GORGEOUS fluffy pink gradient rosette cake for our baby's birthday smash cake pictures! It was so perfect and our baby wouldn't stop licking the frosting. This cake was a special custom request so I'm not too sure if this exact coloring can be done again but they usually have solid color rosette cakes in rotation. While you're ordering your cake, I'd recommend picking up a few small Hokkaido chiffon cakes to snack on later too! Super fluffy and not too sweet!

COVID update review: Went on a Wednesday morning around 10 am, and the entire plaza is very quiet with plenty of parking. I didn't have to wait in line since there were only two other people inside, but I did see 6 ft. markings on the sidewalk outside - so I know they limit the number of customers allowed inside at once. For the bakery side: not as many bread (1/2 to 3/4 the usual) and whole cake options (probably have to pre-order) compared to pre-covid. All bread is pre-packaged and sealed. Restaurant side: pre-packaged to go options are stacked on the tables for grab-and-go. Not sure if you have to order fan tuans ahead of time now or if today was just a busy day. I overheard the cashier telling another customer that they were all ordered for the day. There's a plastic divider separating cashier and customers, plus 6 ft stickers inside the bakery as well. I would say overall 9/10 on covid safety. (Wish they provided hand sanitizer at the entrance prior to customers potentially touching various breads and putting them back as seen at other bakeries)

Delicious asian bakery in Rowland heights! I love asian baked goods and cake because they're not too sweet, light, and fluffy. I got a chocolate sponge cake and it was delicious. The fruit on the cake was fresh and it was inexpensive for the size of the cake (10 inches), which was good for 8-10 people. The cream was light, the overall cake was very simple but hit the spot. I called a few days in advance for pick up. There was a small line when I got there but didn't have to wait too long. They also have lots of options for small cakes, desserts, and baked goods I want to try next time.

Having received many gift baskets and cakes from JJ Bakery over the years through friends, I was always curious to explore this franchise but never really went for it. Not sure why my expectations were set at the level of Paris Baguette or 85°C Bakery type experience, but I am glad to have decided to explore JJ Bakery as it was actually better than the other 2 franchises that I've mentioned. Very much like the bakeries that I've visited in China, they serve a wide range of snacks beyond traditional bakery items such as bread, pastries, cookies and cakes. If you want Chinese rice cakes, dumplings, porridge, lunch bento set and many other options along with your bread and pastries, they've got you covered... and I mean it in a good way, as their cakes and pastries are awesome to begin with. Curious to explore their stores in other areas, and would definitely recommend to friends!

Had a day to order various desserts for a birthday. And the strawberry cream was a knock out! Vanilla cake. With strawberries on top and the middle with this most luscious light cream for frosting. It reminds me of the American strawberry shortcake. It is a knock out of the park most definitely. And the prices are totally reasonable. So happy that they were listed for delivery. Will be glad when this is over and we can actually walk in and purchase or eat-in restaurants safely. Hope Yelp reviews keep us aware of good food. And still open. Thanks Yelp!

This bakery is known for their big fat mochis, so don't be too shocked when you see the price! I was also taken aback by how expensive mochis were here, but it really is big and full of flavor. I got their taro red bean mochi and it was soooooo good. I'm a huge fan of taro so I may be biased. Their creme brûlée was also so good! I wish this place was closer to my house!

If you grew up in LA, you probably had one of these cakes for your birthday. I've been looking for these cakes much closer to home and landed here per recommendation. I first bought a strawberry slice to see how good it is. And I was sold! Major pro is that they use huge thick strawberry slices. And the fruit is so fresh as well. I do wish the almonds were all over the bottom but it's ok. When I placed my order I asked for light cream but I definitely didnt get light cream, but not a deal breaker. This isn't your regular bland dry sponge cake, you definitely got to give it a try.

I've been coming to JJ Bakery since I was a kid- the quality and taste of the bread as well as the prices have been consistent for years, it's incredible! They have good white bread, hot dogs, dinner rolls, mini croissants as well as a delicious raisin bread. I've gotten boba here as well and it's also decent. My favorite at JJ has to be the fruit tart, it's a treat, would definitely recommend! For every birthday, we always get a tiramisu cake (30 inch) or a cappuccino mousse (30 inch) and I absolutely these cakes. They're not too sweet and not too heavy, and can go well with just about any meal afterwards. Not to mention, it's pretty decently priced in comparison to the cakes at other bakery shops in the area. If you haven't checked out their cakes, you're missing out!

JJ Bakery has been our go to cake store since they first opened up at their Hacienda Heights location in the 90s. The cakes are fresh, not too sweet, and reasonably priced. Some of the cakes are sold by slice as well. On Christmas, they were open and we got a holiday tiramisu cake that was delicious. Their mango mousse is another favorite of mine.

The taste stays the same like what I used to frequently come here in my younger students years. I ordered my wedding cake here too 13 years ago. The cakes is airy, moist, and the cream is light, not too sweet too. My kids favorite is the white toast and the watermelon shaped cake. My husband loves the seaweed roll bread with pork sung and ham inside. I love the double parmesan, the mochi bread, and pretty much everything sweet that they have. The soy milk is yumm too. I am just glad that they are always open everyday.
