Update..Five stars The food is consistently good and the customer service too. Place is clean. Ordered catfish nuggets and wings, they were fresh hot & delicious. The green apple slushy was cold and sweet. Customer service was very nice. Place is clean. Ordered two mix and match combos which consisted of chicken wings, legs and bone-in catfish. If you want dinner rolls and coleslaw, you will have to ask for it. Everything was good, except I didn’t get coleslaw which I asked for. The rolls were stale and the fries weren’t fresh. When spending money and waiting, the expectation is everything’s going to be hot and fresh.

I ordered the six chicken wings and a smile gizzard and it was absolutely horrible. The chicken was overcooked and dry and smelled like it was cooked in old Greece just as well as the gizzard small and dry like it was cooked and old grease you lost me as a customer, I would never order from you guys again, horrible !!!one word to describe you horrible !!!!

I did order some catfish they kind of messed up my order I asked for a I think it was a 10 piece or 12 piece catfish fillet they going to gave me four pieces and other pieces steaks catfish but other than that they need to do better what we order and what we going to get back from GrubHub or Uber or anything

The prices here are criminal and the girl at the counter has the nerve to tell you the prices with a straight face! This place should be closed down.

They have the best customer service so nice and friendly the food is always nice and hot and the cooks are fast and efficient.

They have great service always does suggestive sales ,clean anytime I'm in town This is my go to place to eat

I tried this place once in Durham NC and recalled liking it. Tonight I was craving wings and ordered via GrubHub. It was delicious. The wings were excellent and so tasty. The fries are amazing and I loved the coleslaw, too. Really reasonably priced, too. Cant wait to try some fish.

I went to the store in Chicago, Illinois on Lake Park and 47th St. I went there and ordered the jumbo shrimp and they were fabulous. They also have good catfish and chicken wings. Their dishes come with french fries and bread and coleslaw. There's also an option of lemon pepper seasoning for the batter. It's just a counter you walk up to and order from, there's no tables to dine in with. Sometimes the wait can be long, but it's worth it. If you are up for dessert, they have cake slices and other options.

I put in an order an hour and a half before they were about to close and unfortunately they were out of a few items, what I wanted to order. The seating was small but seemed clean; I was getting a to-go order. Although I asked for wings to be dropped fresh, I don't think they were because they weren't hot. They flavor was okay in a pinch, but probably not gonna order again unless I'm in a bind. The person taking the order was nice though.

Fish is always fresh and cooked just the way I like it. They have fast and friendly service.

I highly recommend this place. They have the best Catfish in Chicago land. They're friendly, reasonably priced, quick, clean, fresh.

I got an offer to go back in the place by Yelp to update my review. Went back in the other day, and oh my goodness this place got 10 times better. New design, same cooks and crew but now they're all technology and professional. My fish and chicken combo was still there and it tasted as good as ever.

Hey y'all OK I stop at this place to get me some fresh hot wings and the food was OK. Not really like it use to be changed up owners a few times ..and then I guess changed up the chicken. But when you do go make sure you are not alone its a hang out spot not in side but all over the outside. Oh well happy chicken

Been to a lot of JJ's, but this one is the best! Consistency is key in the restaurant world and this JJ's is dependably consistent with their quality, and mouth watering DELICIOUSNESS! There's a reason why it's always packed. The staff really cares about what they're doing. They remodeled the place and always are trying to improve and it shows with how they treat their customers. Keep up the good work! I'll see ya soon.

Most authentic Chicago experience I could imagine. Great service, colorful atmosphere, and loved the lemon pepper chicken & catfish!!!

My son and I came to this JJ Fish one afternoon and got two orders of the lunch special. I was extremely surprise and most of all satisfied. The service was great and more importantly the food was outstanding! The chicken was fresh, had a great taste to it and the fish was crispy and fresh just like I like it. I definitely recommend this location if you want any chicken or fish.

This particular JJs has been part of my life since I was a little girl sharing a catfish dinner with my brother on the way to Friday night church. The food is fresh 99% of the time, and it's always delicious. As much as I would love to try something new like... cathfish nuggets instead of catfish fillets, I just can't quit them! Here's the deal: Small/Large Catfish dinner comes with 4-6 fillets, tons of fries, 2 spoonfuls of coleslaw, and 2 slices of white bread. Ask for wheat if you want, it's just a tan version of the white stuff, though. The condiments bag comes with tangy hot sauce and ketchup. The meal is NOT complete unless you request lemon pepper on the fish AND fries. The lady behind the bulletproof window is not friendly unless she's known you for years. The vending machine has the best colas, but water might be your best bet after all that fried goodness. Call ahead of time or else you'll be staring at the random pictures and posters hanging on the wall for quite awhile. Plan to eat at home or in the car - there's no place to eat inside. P.S. If you're put off by hole-in-the-wall-grunge or sketchy characters, take a friend with you 'til you're fully acquainted with this genre of delicacies.

Good food but horrible service. The staff Hardly speaks English, and they doesn't know what poppers are, when they are clearly on the menu. Talk about bad customer service. This place is a joke.

When in on my way to work The cashier/cook was very rude was standing there he was talking to his friend how to say excuse me are you taking orders that he could stop talking ask for my fish Fry soft While he was talking not watching my fish it was fry to hard Won't waste my money they're poor customer service

We ordered fish, chicken, and shrimp for 15 people yesterday. No joke all of the food was ready in 20 minutes. So fresh, so delicious. Wish I lived closer. Do not leave here without trying the filet and the jumbo shrimp. Barbecue and hot tenders so good. Simply amazing. I haven't tried the lemon pepper stuff yet. Will try it next time God Willing.

My church (Fellowship) always orders from the 54th and wentworth location and they always do a an amazing job. We ordered 200 pieces of chicken and fish for our youths Christmas party. Everything was made fresh and still hot when it arrived. They are always super nice and kind! I would definitely recommend this location.

JJ Fish chicken on 55th and Wentworth got the best fish in Chicago since I've been living in the projects on 51st Street and state. everybody knows that their food is always fresh and grease fresh and I love their food and customer service. Not all jjs taste the same, this one at the mall on 5401 and Wentworth taste the best! they have the best cooks that have been working for 10 years and got lots of experience on their belt!

Not ashamed to admit I go here for a pans of catfish nuggets and they are always hot and delicious!!!
