Where To Get Indian Takeout And Delivery In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"It probably won’t surprise you to find out that ordering kebabs at JK Kebab House is a good idea. But while you’re at it, get an order of frontier or chili chicken. Or better yet, one of the combination meals that comes with a kebab, chicken dish, rice, salad, and bread. Available for carryout and delivery." - adrian kane

Google
Takeout came with generous portions with all toppings and sauces included. the chili chicken in combo 1 was my favorite. butter chicken also won’t disappoint. the kebabs in combo 4 were a bit dry and could skip. the prata was delicious- soft and buttery

Google
"I was quite disappointed with my visit. The taste of the food was not up to the mark, and it felt like too much food coloring, oil, and butter were used, which made the dishes heavy and unappetizing. It seemed more focused on appearance than actual flavor. On top of that, the cleanliness of the place was lacking — the washroom was particularly dirty and poorly maintained, which raised concerns about overall hygiene. Based on this experience, I won’t be going back."

Google
You’ve got to try their beef chapli kebab, and tandoori chicken. It’s delicious and made fresh to order. Daal fry and chilli chicken fried rice were also good. We liked their paratha rolls as well. Overall one of the better places for Pakistani/Indian food around Naperville area. We went there on Friday night and we got seated quickly although it was a bit busy. Service was decent. You have to place your own order at the register. Update: Went back and tried their mixed grill. Good stuff! Updated from 4 to 5 stars.

Google
I tried the Chapli Kabab at JK Kabab and it was absolutely awesome, full of flavor, juicy, and cooked to perfection! Honestly, everything here was spot on from the taste to the portion size and service. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving authentic and delicious kababs. Definitely coming back!

Google
Soooo good! Excellent food and great service. Will definitely go again. We had the chilli chicken paratha roll and seekh kabab paratha roll. Both were made fresh and were delish!

Google
This place is the hidden gem. I ordered the beef bahari, and it did not disappoint. My plate was prepared and cooked lightly longer than I particularly order, but was spectacular. Service is awesome, very friendly, and zero issues. Clean place, and great food!

Google
Great food. Good quantity and service. I love that the meals are actually COMPLETE MEALS with a rice, meat, and onions (unlike many Indian/Pakistani restaurants that serve fold a-la-carte) While the Bihari kabob is not the same as my family recipe, this is the closest I have found in any restaurant in Chicago.

Google
I can’t believe I didn’t try this place sooner. JK Kabob is hands down one of the best spots in Naperville for a solid, flavorful meal. I got the Chili Chicken and Chicken Kabob with fresh paratha, and both were incredible. The Chili Chicken had the perfect kick, just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. The Chicken Kabob was juicy, well-seasoned, and wrapped in a warm, flaky paratha—pure comfort food. And the lunch specials? Absolute steal. Huge portions for a price that’s hard to beat. You’re getting quality food, packed with flavor, without breaking the bank. I’m already thinking about what I’m ordering next time. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Yelp
I've been coming to JK Kabob House since I was a kid at their Chicago location, and they never fail to impress! Anytime someone visits Chicago, I make them try it, and without fail, they always go back raving about it--it quickly becomes their favorite restaurant too. The food here is rich in flavor without being overly oily, which is something I really appreciate. Some of my must-haves: * Beef chili - Bold, spicy, and packed with flavor. * Seekh kabob - Perfectly seasoned and grilled just right. * Tandoori chicken - Tender, smoky, and full of spices. * Frontier rice - So flavorful and a perfect complement to the meats. * The rice in the platter is always soft and fluffy, never dry. * And the paratha? PERFECTION--crispy, flaky, and buttery! I also love that they give complimentary raita and chutney, which makes every bite even better. I do wish this location offered the complimentary soup like the Chicago spot used to, but that's a small thing compared to how incredible the food is. This is hands down my go-to spot, and I'll always make a stop whenever I can. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out!

Yelp
Back again here. Best samosa here. Fresh not spicy ... just right. Definitely recommend this place even over restaurants on devon street in Chicago.

Yelp
Overall (A+) This place is awesome. Excellent service, fair and reasonable prices and authentic savory food. What more do you want? Will be taking all my friends to JK when craving Indian. Food (A+) We got the mixed kabob platter, butter chicken and palak paneer. Everyone enjoyed the food. All the grilled pieces of meat/kabobs were excellent. Butter chicken melts in your mouth. As close to an authentic Indian flavor as you can find in the states. Not full of oil or sugar like other places. The right amount of spices and expertly prepared. Service (A+) Super friendly and polite. The staff clearly explained all the dishes and helped us choose the menu items. They know the menu well and know what the customers are looking for/craving. Took a little while for food to come out. But we'll worth the wait! Don't want to rush a good thing. They make it fresh. Value (A) It's fine - priced just right. Big portion sizes. We paid around $135 out the door for 6 people but has left overs for another round. So easily could of fed 8-10 adults Don't believe the negative reviews - it's really really good here.

Yelp
I have only ordered carryout so I can't comment on restaurant. The food is really good and fresh. We love the paratha rolls here.

Yelp
This is some of the best food in the Chicagoland area. After they closed their Devon St. location in the city we finally made a trip out to Naperville to taste that perfect Frontier Chicken and Lamb Kebab once again. I'm happy to report that the Naperville location is just as good as the closed Chicago spot. I was so happy to see the menu is also intact. Service was fast, and the restaurant was very clean. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. Get the Frontier Chicken and Lamb Kebab for sure, but I'm confident everything on the menu would be perfect.

Yelp
Service no good at all they forget to serve salad and sauce and chpati (roti) Good Luck JK
google avatar

Yelp
Been there by chance. It was ok . The food is not too bad. They have a variety of Indian dishes. The grill platter is the best. The place is tiny and looked busy. I don't mind a next time

Yelp
I love this place! This has to be one of the best, if not the best, Indian food I've ever had! The first time around I had the chili fish and it was amazing! Then I had the chili chicken rice with the chicken knob and that was great! There was so much flavor and they put a lot of chicken in the rice. Also the staff is super nice

Krissy M.

Yelp
This was my family and I first time eating here! Truly this place is a wonderful delight. The food is amazing!! The place is tidy and service is impeccable. I must say each dish was cooked to perfection. The staff did not disappoint when expressing which bread was best!!! Thank you so much. I know my kids enjoyed their meals when they brought leftovers home and ate leftovers the next day!! Yes I will be back.

Amy O.

Yelp
Fantastic food! They make it fresh for you and they are always busy so the food can take a little while. Definitely give this place a try if you like Indian food!

Yelp
Great consistent food clean place good service, butter chicken is a must, and seeks kabobs

Yelp
I personally don't like going out for this type of cuisine, but we brought my parents here for dinner. We ordered beef fried rice, tandoori chicken, and lamb seekh kabob. The fried rice was not fried. It was normally cooked rice with spicy little chunks of beef. Not my thing. The tandoori chicken was nicely cooked and flavorful. The kabobs were big, plump, and juicy. As for the ambiance and interior, it's not meant to be a fine dining experience like Haveli. Although food is served on proper plates with silverware, you order/pay at the front counter and the workers don't wear any sort of uniform. The artwork is the type of stuff you'd find at TJ Maxx, and they have tacky disco lighting to set the mood. It's small inside, but they managed to squeeze a bunch of 2- and 4-seat tables in; I would estimate max seating at 30. They don't take reservations, just walk-ins. I noticed a good amount of carry-out orders. Overall, not bad if you want authentic Indo-Pak food.

J Q.

Yelp
Butter chicken and the other kabobs are good. Portions could be better for the prices but overall it's good food for takeout. Not really a sit down place.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
Come here and come quick. This place will have you telling your friends and family that you've found the go to kebab place. Ordered the veggie paneer paratha wrap and butter chicken. BC came with rice and onions and was delicious. Absolutely will be back!
google avatar

Harpreet K.

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING! If you are looking for ambiance...not so much! However, here is why you should try this place...Great tasting food- proper spice, large portions, and spot on every time! We always order the chicken boti, butter chicken, kadhai chicken, and saag/palak paneer! Sooooo good!!!
google avatar

Evan M.

Yelp
The quality and taste of the food gets this 4 stars, for sure. The chili chicken rice is amazing and the portion size is easily enough for two people. The issue here is the extreme rudeness of the counter employee that takes your order. I am not sure I have been treated more poorly just trying to place a take-out order! People are trying to give your business money! At least take 2 minutes and pay attention and maybe even crack a smile! If this business can improve on the customer service level, it would be a no-brainer to eat here if you are in the area.
google avatar

Dana R.

Yelp
Can you say happy tastebuds?!?! We LOVE this restaurant and have to refrain ourselves from eating here daily! I had no idea what to get so the staff helped me choose and they made great suggestions! I am a vegetarian and I get the Panner (cheese) plate which includes a side house salad, basmati rice, and bread. It is a bit spicy but that is what I love about it. The portion size allows me to enjoy this meal twice. My husband gets the Chicken Boti (cubed) Kabab meal. He LOVES it and asked for it daily! They always give you an estimated time for pickup of about 25 minutes and the food is always ready. We know that our food is going to be fresh and made just for us. I would highly recommend JK Kabab.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Highly recommend this restaurant for Pakistani/Indian food. Their butter chicks is one of the best I've ever had! The Paratha pairs well with the butter chicken. If you're looking for good Pakistani food in the suburbs- check them out!
google avatar

Sid S.

Yelp
Let's get straight into this review..huge portions, delicious food and friendly service! The beef chapli kebab was huge, I made it into a sandwich with the huge paratha! The tandoori chicken was so soft and tasty. The chilli beef rice was too spicy, sadly it went to waste couldn't finish it. Definitely try this place if you're in the area!
google avatar

Len L.

Yelp
There are plenty of places for butter chicken here in the West suburbs but the best I have ever tasted closest to where I first tried that dish out in India. I been coming here for the past 6 months and never stopped coming here for more. The entrees are more then enough for two people and even better the next day is what I heard from my friends. I usually finish the entire dish myself. The rice is plentiful with flavor. There is no garlic naan but the paratha comes close to that. It is not fancy in the interior and that does not matter as long as the food is awesome. Service can be lacking sometimes due to how busy they can get as long as the food is consistent I am willing to wait. I recommend JK Kabab to anyone who loves authentic cuisine.

Laura H.

Yelp
I am so glad we found this hidden gem. The gravy was so flavorful, the bread was perfect. My boyfriend had the special of the goat, I had the a dish with paneer. The restaurant itself is quiet but the food speaks for itself. The staff were very welcoming and polite, will definitely be back.
google avatar

Gina Z.

Yelp
Food is beyond amazing! Had the butter chicken, tandoori chicken and spicy beef rice. So tasty! Service was quick and easy , order at counter. Place is super casual. Clean. I think I will be a regular for sure! By the way, it's a whole in the wall so don't let that deter you! You won't regret it.

Yelp
I first went to their downtown location and fell in love with the food, and then discovered that there was another location 10 mins away from me! They are definitely different and more unique than other desi places. All of their different meats are absolutely amazing. My personal favorites are their chill chicken and chicken kebob with their parathas which is all included with their Combo 1 meal alongside with salad and basmati rice! My family loves this place, definitely worth a try!
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
I had the sheik kebab plate and it was fantastic. Really tasty and fresh. We ordered paratha and it was also very tasty. The Dal & rice are yum! We had carryout and the meal was ready on time.

Tony K.

Yelp
I have been here lot of times for carry out and dine in, it's a nice small restaurant with good quality food, prices are reasonable, interior don't have big dining hall
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
The found here is without a doubt authentic! The food was amazing. The spice level was perfect. You know when it get too spicy that you can't even taste the flavors or enjoy the food. Well not at this place! It's legit amazing. We tried so many dishes, lamb, goat, chicken ...seriously all delicious. The meats were tender. Love this place.
google avatar

Promee K.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best Indo/pak food I had in Illinois. We visited for Iftar (breaking of fast in Ramadan) and, obviously over-ordered, unaware of their huge portions. The food was fresh and delicious. They even had complimentary Iftar assortment filled with some of our favorite South Asian Iftari food. For our dinner we ordered the Chicken Tikka, Beef Chilli and Chicken Chapli Kabab. The portions are quite large for the price. The Chicken Chapli Kabab was to die for and the Chicken Tikka was spicy as well as delicious. We had 3 takeaway boxes filled with food for the 2 days. For dessert we had Rasmalai and falooda. Both dishes hit the spot. Good chai too. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
JK Kabab House is, I believe, a subsidiary of the JK Kabab on Devon Street. They do not serve all of the items on the original menu, but whatever they do serve, they do it well. Now, I make sure to read reviews before I go to a place, and when I go to a place that does not have very many reviews, I try my best to be objective. I read a few of the people complaining about the time it takes for food to be ready/arrive - my first review features this. If the food that does arrive is absolutely fresh and made to order, and tastes fantastic, then it's worth the wait. The first time I came here, I waited patiently and was rewarded with great food. The second time, I was smarter, I ordered 10 minutes ahead of arriving, and my food was on my table within 10 minutes. If you have a big party of people (we were a party of 3), I'd perhaps order 20-30 minutes in advance. Moving on to the food - no other way to put it, the food is GREAT! The chili chicken is top notch, the same as JK in Devon. The Lamb and Beef Seekh Kabab are seasoned to PERFECTION. The chili chicken fried rice is pretty good, but I'd rather get it separately and mix them together. The tandoori chicken is good, but the chicken tikka is better. The salad and the yogurt are top notch, but the red sauce is only so-so. Lastly, that paratha is SUBLIME! Order the paratha, please! A bit of a disappointment that they don't serve the soup as an appetizer like JK on Devon, but it's a disappointment I can get over.
google avatar

Abhishek S.

Yelp
When it comes to authentic Non-veg with Indian Spices, JK Kabab is the place. I am always biased towards casual dining ambiance so consider my Half-Star there. The food is super tasty and more importantly authentic. The quantity and rate is just right.
google avatar

lydia h.

Yelp
I bit pricy but the food and portions are good! I'd say well worth it. Obviously the butter was a favorite! Definitely will keep going.
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
Great size serving of bread and meat! Seasoned just the way I like it! Service is quick and clean and polite.

Yelp
Best Pakistani BBQ in the US! We were headed back from Iowa city and JK was a quick detour which we decided to take. Thanks to Yelpers we ordered 30 min ahead and I suggest you definitely order ahead or be prepared to wait for freshly prepared BBQ items. We ordered Beef chapli kabob, Chicken tikka and Chili chicken with paratha. Everything was on point specially the paratha. It was not oily and will not leave you feeling bloated. It is easy to get one thing right but when you get everything right like JK you truly deserve 5-stars. I cant wait to come back and try their bihari kabobs. PS. Dont forget to order chai (tea) after your meal as it too was really good!

Yelp
Great desi food Spicy and BBQ items Biryani was OK Drinks were OK Need more chutney

Yelp
This is a great place for a quick bite, all of the wraps I have tried have been good, but there are a few that you have to be ready for the spice.

Carol K.

Yelp
Wow, delicious food! Service was excellent and everything was cooked perfectly. Yum! We came on a Friday night and it soon became packed with diners so go early to get a seat.

Aliza A.

Yelp
The worst customer service ever! My family and I were visiting from LA and it's first come first served. We were told there aren't any tables so we ordered to go. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and gave a table to someone else while we were waiting. We asked why weren't we able to get this table, we've been waiting ? She said your order is already being ready. She got so upset at us that she started screaming from behind the counter. We always loved going to here but never again! Their quantity has decreased, the food has gotten extremely oily. They have no respect for their customers! Extremely disappointed!!! Will not recommend

Yelp
I took at trip from Lasalle, IL just to get some Indian food , yeah that's what I do! Lol I looked up a different place and when I arrived they were closed! So I jumped back on Yelp and found this wonderful gem. Once I went inside too Order, 2 fantastic signs, they were packed! And it smelled amazing in there. I ordered the butter chicken , chili beef rice, paratha, and gulag jamun. I'm in love! If your in the area check them out... if your not.. it's worth the drive. I will go back forsure!;) .. also was enough food for me for 3- 4 meals easily ! Wonderfully kind staff .Amazing food!

Pandu Y.

Yelp
Seekh kabab / dal / paratha were very tasty . Service was very good. Will visit again for sure.

Poonam R.

Yelp
Amazing food & great service. Social distance maintained. We ordered lunch special, taste was great specially the goat sheek kebab. The quantity for the price was really worth it. We ordered take outs 3-4 times in last 2 months. Lunch specials are the best !

Ameer R.

Yelp
Delicious food especially the kebabs and paratha. Not much atmosphere, better for takeout.Good tasty food made with care and good ingredients . On the pricey side but worthy it. Lamb kebabs were well spiced, used fresh and high quality meat. Parathas were the best I've had anywhere . We also ordered the Chicken 65 which wasn't bad. Things to get are the kebabs, breads and rice.

Yelp
We were looking for a kebab place during our stay in Aurora and found this place on yelp. Reviews looked good so we decided to go for dinner. As they say, great happiness comes in small package. This place has great food but does not have a lot of Seating space. It tends to fill up really fast towards 8pm so I would recommend to go a little early to grab your chair! There were only two servers taking care of entire restaurant but we did not feel lack of service anytime. Both the guys were very humble and always asked us if everything tasted well. Menu looked good. We ordered tandoori chicken and Karahi chicken. The wait time for grilled items is around 25 minutes so order it ahead of time. There were two options with the entrees. Roti or Paratha. Paratha is made by applying oil to roti. The paratha had more oil than required but it tasted delicious. The size of one paratha was too big to finish by one person. Roti is a healthier option than paratha. Both the entrees were also served with basmati Rice which were well seasoned and house salad. The entrees with complementary sides were very filling. Tandoori chicken was one of the best ones I have had. Chicken was very moist and tender. It was cooked perfectly. I would not rate the karahi as one of the best but it was good and tasty. We were also served with two kind of house specialty chutneys/ sauces. Red sauce and white sauce (Raita). White sauce (Raita) was made from yogurt and finely chopped veggies. Red sauce was made from tomatoes and had tangy as well as sweet and sour taste. Both tasted really good but out of the two, red sauce was delicious. My wife asked for it 4 times. Lol! As told by one of the servers, This place is a branch of famous J K Kebab at Devon street. Overall, this place is worth the money.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I was told this place was awesome. Everytime I went there they were closed. Finally today they were open. I went in and the guy at the counter/order desk was not all that friendly. I ordered butter chicken and a drink and sat down (no one else was in the dining room) My Butter Chicken came out and I took 2-3 bites and pushed it and the nasty oily nan to the side. That is the 2nd time I'd gotten Butter Chicken and it was salty. I had gotten the same flavor at Saras in their Butter Chicken and I've never been back. I won't be coming back here either. That will teach me to not deviate from Indian Harvest where I love the owners AND the food is consistently great.

Shazia S.

Yelp
Ok food particularly in Ramadan. They disappointed me a big time this year. It can be due to inflation or don't know what.

Andrew K.

Yelp
I've been eating at Jk kabab's for around 11 and a half years food is amazing, especially that chili chicken rice and chicken bodi, food comes out very quickly I enjoy their food a lot!
google avatar

Kaushik K.

Yelp
Before renovation, the prices were low but they have hiked the prices after the renovation without the change in quality. Ordered a wrap earlier but it wasn't as good as earlier. I hope that it was only a one time bad experience and looking to visit our again hoping to get better good quality
google avatar

Imran F.

Yelp
Have gone here a few times with a friend. I would rate their food about average. This place is pretty packed so maybe it's just me but the food is very greasy and leaves a after taste. The place is nice and clean with a nice decor. Customer service is decent. I don't think I would pick to go here myself but I wouldn't mind going back with a group of people who enjoy it.

Elise F.

Yelp
Excellent food! Wish the service was consistently friendlier. Best butter chicken ever!!

Arthur K.

Yelp
I was visiting from California, We were 10 people , waited 45 min , people were sitting there , girl name Sumra was very very rude . Worst customer service ever I have seen . I will not recommend anyone . After 45 min they said our order should be to-go , not dine in. First we agreed but the way talked we did not like it ., first we paid for everything but after Sumra respond .. we decided for our refund and went to other restaurant , This is USA , when you paid asking price should get respect and good customer Service .
