Google
Honestly a 4.5, but I don't think I should go down a whole star so 5 star it is. Celebrated my birthday here on a Thursday night and the staff were extremely welcoming and made my night special with a birthday card and a little happy birthday plaque stand on the table when we arrived. We got the Taste of Joa Premier set and everything was delicious, though the marinated ribeye was a bit too salty for my personal preference. If you plan to get any starters, PLEASE get the steamed egg souffle. It was scrumptious! Gerardo and another gentleman server (who's name I wish I had asked for) were super attentive and made sure everything was going well for us. My only complaint is we weren't informed that the yuzu salad they provide with the food would be an extra charge if we wanted more. I may have missed it on the menu, but I don't recall seeing the price of it on the menu so it was surprising to see it on our bill, considering other KBBQ places don't charge extra for more greens. The extra charge wouldn't have been an issue had we been informed by our server. Overall, for my first time, it was a great experience. Thank you Joa!

Google
Steven was phenomenal. Recommendations were on point and the food was delicious. The highlight of the night was the desert drinks. We got a black grand national and it is by far the most delicious drink I’ve had in a while. It’s Smokey, sweet with hints of chocolate and roasted cherries. The presentation was top tier. The perfect date night and special occasion place.

Everything—from the service to the food—was excellent. Lately, I’ve felt that many Korean BBQ places in the U.S. have adjusted too much to American tastes, making the food overly sweet and salty. But JOA was different. The meat was fresh, and the side dishes were especially delicious. What stood out the most was the service—they grilled the meat for us perfectly, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Thank you to Erwin for making my sisters birthday here the best! She joined me here on our work trip to make it a fun birthday weekend as well. We came here late not knowing the kitchen would close soon and they happily accommodated us! Erwin went out of his way to make sure our food/drinks and experience was wonderful. Thankful for his kindness and enthusiasm the whole time we were there! God bless him for his light he shined upon us

Google
Laylay is super friendly and helpful. I loved all the food, especially the tender and juicy meats. The shareable appetizers—crafted by the culinary director Minji, former Michelin-star chef — were absolutely outstanding!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE 🤙🏽 My baby sister & I enjoyed a business trip turned spontaneous 30th birthday dinner, that I’ll never forget. Our server Erwin took the best care of us, such great hospitality & genuine care. The hostess was so sweet! Shoutout to the Manager who accommodated us when he for sure did not have to. My sister was determined to take me out for my birthday & found JOA KBBQ, not realizing we were minutes away from closing. So thank you so much to Joa management & team for the amazing experience! We cannot wait to bring our family the next time we’re in town. Mahalo nui loa!🤙🏽

Google
10/10! I was very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. This was my second time dining at a Korean BBQ, so I was still oblivious about how it all worked. However, Tammy definitely made our experience perfect. She was extremely patient and kind! Thank you so much, Tammy! I wish all servers were like you. All other staff were also very kind and welcoming! The meats were perfectly cut and seasoned as well.

Google
This was our second time here, and unfortunately, the service was very poor. Our group was consistently overlooked, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. We were supposed to have our food cooked for us, but the staff repeatedly walked by without assisting anyone. Many patrons, including those in our party, were left waiting for refills or simply for someone to begin preparing their meals. It was particularly frustrating when our waiter asked if we were ready for the check, despite the fact that our shrimp hadn't even been put on the grill yet and I had just requested a refill. It was a truly frustrating experience for everyone.

Yelp
Omg!!! The food and drinks were amazing!! Steven was so pleasant and so knowledgeable about the drinks. I will come back here time after time as the customer service and the cocktails are always a hit!

Yelp
PERFECT DATE IDEA @joagrill is a perfect restuaraunt to take you significant other. It's a perfect mix of an experience plus HIGH QUALITY food And... the ambiance is luxurious on its own The food is great and the staff are top tier! No all you can eat options but the curated menus are great portions.

Yelp
Not our first time but the time where we took pictures. :) We came for Mother's Day, or at least the day before. 3 of us with a pretty high tab, would say that this is not an inexpensive experience. It was a treat for us, so no holding back. We ordered 2 portions of the premium dinner and a couple additional items. The meat was excellent, definitely really great cuts compared to some other locations we've been to. Folks are spot on, the drinks are superb! On both our occasions, we really enjoyed the drinks - even having the bartenders make something based on a few hints and it was great. When it comes to the price there were some items a bit unbalanced. For instance, we ordered the premium portions which included 4-5 meat types and 3 pieces each per a person was a nice variety. Decided we wanted an order of short rib as well and it was just shy of the $45 and was only 6 pieces. Was just odd since the premium was only $10 more but it gave a lot more portions. Would gladly come back for a special occasion given the variety of kbbq in the DFW area.

Yelp
It was a hard okay - tried $40-something per person option for a group of four. Portions were pretty small and meat quality was so-so, per my quite avid palettes with years of being a Korean. Understand that this place is not a traditional KBBQ experience but somewhat a fusion and you shouldn't expect the authentic, but any "fusion" or "inspired " offerings should master the originality then venture out to create something new. Great services from the waitstaffs, the tall gentleman definitely knew how to cook some meat.
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
We drove out to Dallas to try Joa Grill. They didn't have an expansive menu compared to other places but what they did have was high quality. The meats were very good and everything was elevated from the sauces and accompaniments to the garlic cloves that are grilled in a sauce. The experience itself was upscale with our waiter preparing most of the meats and guiding us through dinner. He was very attentive and quick to pick up extra plates so that we had a clean table as we were dining.

Yelp
My experience here was excellent. I came here to celebrate my wife's birthday and the service and food didn't disappoint. I made reservations ahead of time but still had to wait about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad since I wasn't in a rush. When we were seated, we ordered the Taste of Jao, and the food started coming out promptly! I ordered the Signature: Prime Short Rib, 44 Farms Hanger Steak, Black Angus Marinated, Bone-In Shott Rib, 44 Farms Ribeye and Shrimp. I was served with banchan, yuzu salad, soybean stew, white rice and I e Icecream. The whole meats was delicious, the steaks were great and well seasoned and grilled medium. The server cooks the meat. The sides was also good. The ice cream was average. However we had a good experience our server was engaging and very attentive! Definitely give them a try.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Joa for the first time (we visited when they were Nuri grill previously). Joa is not the most authentic Korean bbq place but it's a great place to enjoy Korean bbq in a fun, casual but upscale atmosphere. The meat quality was good and the banchans that came out were good as well. Price was adequate, considering the quality and the service. They don't serve kimchi unless you ask them so dont hesitate to ask for some if you want! There were times when I wanted to just take over cooking the meat but the server didn't seem to like that so I just left it to the server lol. Not sure if I would go back because there are other Korean bbq places that are good at cheaper price but if there is anyone around me who wants to ease into the idea of Korean bbq, I think Joa would be one of the first places that come to my mind.

Yelp
Think this is my favorite KBBQ spot in Dallas! Love the modern ambiance and excellent drink menu here~ the cocktails are very good! Quality of meat was great and the signature menu which is on a per person basis was PLENTY of food- we were so full. The fans for the grills are inside the grill making it a pleasant experience without smoke! The little things make this place a standout from all other KBBQs~

Yelp
Had an amazing meal at JOA the other night! They are definitely a high end Korean bbq establishment, so expect to pay for it. Their cocktails are exquisite and the meats are excellent. I definitely recommend getting one of the combos for the table. Plenty of meat and they will cook it for you. Each cut of meat was displayed beautifully on a wood board, ready to be cooked after each other. The only gripe I had was that they had all of these beautiful vegetables on the spread, but when all of these meats were done, they went to go take the board away with the vegetables. We stopped them, and grilled those ourselves. Those oyster mushrooms alone should not be wasted as a garnish! Make sure you put those on the grill too, as they will just take it away at the end of the meal. In summary, JOA is great for a special occasion, but definitely pricey. Make sure you get your moneys worth and enjoy the meats!

Yelp
Wonderful place with great food and vibes. The meat is very high quality and the ambience is simply mesmerizing. The service is amazing, our waitress Lay Lay was super attentive and cooked our food to perfection. The price is very high, so expect to splurge, our total for 3 people was about $240. But it's a great place for a special occasion.

Justin C.

Yelp
This is the best Korean BBQ in Dallas!!! All the meat is high quality, in addition, the sides are unreal! Order the mushrooms, Brussels and the drink tower! The staff were kind and attentive. They also treated my friend to a cute birthday surprise! 10/10
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
The ambiance was really nice and the meats were of very high quality. However, will need appetizers and entrees to feel full.
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
10/10 This place was everything!! The service was utterly amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful, even the bathrooms lol. You get a lot of food for a good price. Everything we had was SO GOOD! My favs were the Brussels and the Bulgogi! I love that this place is kid friendly as well but has a vibe of an upscale restaurant. And the music selection was great too.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Trendy Kbbq spot for sure. Came here to celebrate a few birthdays. Food was alright, but honestly would have been happy at a regular kbbq place. Prices for the food was to be expected for "high end bbq." The drinks were the best part of the place. The waitresses were great and attentive to our large party. I would also suggest double checking your bill before you pay. I footed the bill for our large party and didn't realize until after we left, that we were charged for an extra dish they were out of. They split us to two tables so I didn't hear the waitress tell that half of our party that they were out of the item, so not sure why it ended up on the bill. So I called, they let me know it would be removed off the bill the next day. That never happened. Which is frustrating. So just double check so they can remove it on the spot.

Yelp
Wow - everything about this experience was just above and beyond outstanding. The staff, the food, the decor, the service - 10 stars across the board. They had a special Mother's Day menu featuring 5 courses. This was quite the deal and all for $50. Our waiter Andy really made this visit so much more enjoyable for our dinner party who had never had K BBQ before. He did a great job at explaining the details of everything and was super attentive. The cocktails were well made, the side dishes were enough for us to share with 3 people. If you are looking for THE Korean BBQ place to dine at - look no further. You need to experience JOA.
google avatar

Lawrencia L.

Yelp
Loved JOA! Our server Charles was awesome. If you are celebrating a birthday this is the place to be. They have my friend a cute card, sung happy birthday and a birthday dessert. They also have a nice happy hour. My favorite was the bbq NY steak strip and the octopus. I'll be back.
google avatar

Catalina M.

Yelp
Great spot! Food was really good and service very friendly! Spot inside looks great and modern.

Yelp
Great ambiance, atmosphere, food, and mixed drinks! Service was very attentive and got us seated and served quickly. Great date spot! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
great experience, high quality meats, great banchan, love the ice cream for dessert got the signature, corn, and mashed potatoes and loved it. our fav was the marinated short rib
google avatar

Sheree Z.

Yelp
Absolutely worth every penny. I'm used to the thin AYCE kbbq so I wasn't sure about JOA since it cost more but it was 10000% worth it. We did the Texas set (serves 4 ppl) for $199. That's around $50 per person before tip and it's honestly not expensive if you truly think about it. The set came with salad, rice, soup, ice cream and unlimited side dishes. And everything was soo good. I was expecting the salad and soap to be okay but they really put in tons of love and care to every dish. (You have to ask for kimchi on the side/no charge) there was also so much meat and our server was kind enough to do most of the cooking for us. The vibe: date night in NYC, chill, a little bougie but don't feel like you have to dress up.
google avatar

Bianca D.

Yelp
What a great experience! Definitely a bougie and pricey spot but we really enjoyed it. We had 6 foodies and got the star of show (4X), shrimp pancake, beef noodles and beef kimchi fried rice. The meats were so yum, our fav was the tenderloin and we even got a second order. Waiter was so kind and would def recomme
google avatar

Jared L.

Yelp
This place surprised me! I was wary about the location. It's like attached to a warehouse but once inside, all the trepidations fade away. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and amazingly delicious food. The cocktails were also top notch. We will be back.
google avatar

Yesenia V.

Yelp
Located in a rather rural area but ambiance is still modernized. Service itself was great but unfortunately our waiter seemed very nervous and new to the comfort of cooking. We ordered Taste of Joa, the banchan was surprisingly not great. We specifically had to ask for kimchi which apparently is upon request. After confirming he was very new to cooking our waiter proceeded to over cook our meats and burned all the vegetables which only increased his lack of confidence for the rest of the meal. In turn we ended up turning our own meat when he would leave. The drinks on the other hand were great, tried the jolly rancher.
google avatar

Tammy D.

Yelp
JOA is a higher-end kbbq with a la carte options. The cuts of meat are definitely more premium than other a la carte places in my opinion, so be prepared to spend more. Our dinner overall was $100 for 2 people We ordered the prime short rib and pork jowl which were both fantastic. The prime short rib was definitely my favorite of the two. Got the corn cheese and "kimichi" salad. Air quotes because there's no actually kimichi. It's just a salad mix tossed in some sesame oil and tart dressing. It was a good pairing and balance for the meal tbh. Service was excellent. We made a reservation ahead of time cause I didn't know how busy they'd be on a Thursday night. Got seated right away and our server was very sweet and attentive. He stopped by frequently, answered our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. They do cook her for you which is nice. JOA is definitely a place for the ambiance and experience. My friend and I got full based on what we ordered and I don't think $50 for each of us at a place like this was too expensive. I might come back for when I want to treat myself.
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
This was our second time here for a date night with the wife. Just as we experienced the first time, it was an excellent experience. The service was fantastic and our server John, did an amazing job. Whatever we needed, he delivered on. We ordered the Taste of Joa for two. Which comes with more than enough food for two. I highly recommend Joa for a simple date night or for a group of friends. A+
google avatar

Sungwan K.

Yelp
So delicious! Joseph took great care of us! This is the best Korean bbq restaurant in Dallas!
google avatar

Meghan S.

Yelp
5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Décor Right off the back, here are some cool things about JOA: 1. Endless refills on sides (this might be common at all KBBQ places) 2. You have the option to cook your food, or the server will do it for you. 3. The cocktails are incredible! They have happy hour until 6. Shout out to Eleasar! (I think that's his name) He made our crew a new cocktail that they're testing, and it was divine! I've visited JOA twice--once to rejoice a very well-deserved promotion for yours truly and the other was for my grandmother's birthday. Both visits were incredibly memorable. I've had the opportunity to try the Taste of Joa annnnnnd Taste of Texan. Both options can easily feed more than the 2 and 4 it advertises, but if you're super eaters, follow their guidelines. If you're a veggie fan, you can add veggies to BBQ for a $1 or so. We added onions to our feast, and it paired perfectly with the delicious cuts of beef. I'm talking super high-quality meats and the sides are to die for. Although the pork belly isn't offered on the options designed for sharing, I highly suggest you add it! It's been my favorite so far! Only sucky thing about this place is, I love rice! Even though its technically a side, it's not considered endless. Savor that rice bowl because another one will cost you 2 or $3. I've never felt so welcomed and appreciated in my life. JOA exudes the celebration of patrons and food perfection! I am still so in awe of this place.
google avatar

Yen Nhi N.

Yelp
JOA is definitely a good place to try if you're in Dallas and craving Korean bbq. We decided to order the Taste of Joa because the portion is for 2 people, it includes soup and desert, and has 5 different proteins for us to try. We enjoy every proteins in Taste of Joa. The service was excellent! Our waiter was very informative and tentative. He replaces our side dishes without us even request. The ambiance is very chill and not very crowded on Wednesday night. The only thing I was hoping for is to have kimchi as a side dish. Unfortunately kimchi was not in the side dishes.
google avatar

Carissa S.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in you'll be impressed with the vibe and the decor. It feels a little bit like a club; it's the nicest KBBQ place I've ever been. The meat selections, some might say, have been Americanized, but the restaurant any owners know what cuts their audience likes. The service was incredible. Very attentive and cooked everything for us. At other places, we've gotten the meat, then the server comes back periodically to make sure nothing is on fire. Here nothing the server cooked the meat to perfection; he actually recommended the item that he would have to cook (which yes was one of the most expensive items since it was the Texas whatever that comes with all the meat, but we ate it all and it was delicious)! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Liezel R.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary here The service is really good Yazan is our server he's nice and great and thank you so much bronco for our anniversary complimentary drinks We enjoyed our meal we ordered JoA for two people delicious meal and we try raw oysters so good Highly recommended we will definitely coming back
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
Gorgeous place. Cool and hip. Like the music and the decor of the place. Not your typical K-Bbq. We ordered the "taste of Joa" and a Duroc pork belly. Taste of Joa has enough to be shared by two. The meat was tender, you can tell it's good quality. We also ordered the duric pork .I will skip next time, I did not taste any difference from other pork bellys I had. And it was pricey. We will try the other meats. Service was just okay. Our waitress at that time was distracted. Never checked up on us. Forgot to give us our rice. We had to flag down another waiter to get our water refilled and get the dipping sauces.
google avatar

Mia G.

Yelp
Laylay was a great server. It was our first time and she made the experience so comfortable. She told us about all the dishes and cooked our meats to perfection.

Grace B.

Yelp
It was so good; the kimchi pancakes had pieces of ham and were to die for! Our server Andy suggested the blue island drink and it was amazing.
google avatar

Craig C.

Yelp
First time, won't be our last! Fantastic!! Although I was a bit skeptical about cooking our own food, it was fun & easy. Soooo much food, so many different flavors. Service was friendly & helpful especially for first timers. Great atmosphere & energy made for a memorable dining experience.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
This place has a great atmosphere! It's easy to lose track of time and think it's dark outside, when it isn't. Nice decor and overall vibe. Great for pics and special occasions. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was good. No major complaints. We ordered the beef tebokki and the Mountain bulgogi hot pot. Beef was tender and good quality. Loved finding hidden rice cakes in the broth and broth was flavorful. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Not the easiest on the pocketbook though. Was it worth it?.... maybe... I'll leave it at that. Im torn between saying you get what you pay for and it was slightly overpriced. But I've been to many K-BBQ places (mostly buffet style) and the quality of meat here for sure beats the other places. Although you also trade off the amount of sides you can eat, sauces you can create, etc. It's up to you whether you'd rather have great quality meat or able to get up and load up on various soups and sides without limit, but have lower quality meat and mediocre service. Now the minor gripes which make it 4 vs 5 star: It was slow, so all the wait staff hang out in this one spot which is visible to customers and kind of in the way of getting to the bathroom. This detracted from the experience as this is all we had to stare at. A bunch of employees standing around talking, until they had something to do. Would be better for atmosphere if they could do that away from the main dining room, maybe in the back, out of sight. One cocktail I ordered didn't qualify for the happy hour, but I wasn't informed. The Dallas Gentlemen? Would've been nice to know, I wouldn't have ordered it. Also, my fiance's cocktail wasn't tasty. Meaning, it wasn't sweet and therefore didn't taste good to someone who isn't accostomed to a strong taste of bitter alcohol. At first I thought she was just being picky, as she doesn't drink much, but after tasting it I completely agreed. It did not taste good. I drank it anyway as I didn't want to waste my money, but it was just sour and tasted like alc. I think she was under the impression it would be a sweet tasting tropical drink. It looked better than it tasted. Other than that, overall, it was a positive experience. I'd come back again for a special occasion and I'd love to try something different.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
I wish I could have given them more stars. The service was great! Everyone that worked there was friendly and attentive. You can tell that they really care about their customers' experience. Bartenders were very knowledgeable about fun cocktails. I can say hands down that everything we tried was amazing. Fried dumplings were delicious and flavorful. No grease! Blistered shishito peppers were also good. Love the dipping sauce that came with them. Steamed egg souffle had crab on it! I'm not a corn person, but I couldn't stop eating the cream corn cheese. We split the taste of Texan! Rate: 1) Marinated ribeye, 2) filet mignon 3) prime short rib, 4) NY strip 5) ribeye I need the recipe for the bean paste soup! We will definitely be back. Oh, they also have a great happy hour! You have to go check it out!

Kristine K.

Yelp
My favorite place! Service, atmosphere, food is all top notch! I can't recommend this place enough!
google avatar

Noel S.

Yelp
The atmosphere and food is great! Gerardo did a phenomenal job at cooking and serving us. Highly recommend!

Van L.

Yelp
What a fantastic recommendation! We originally went to another small hole in the wall Korean dumplings restaurant, but that place ran out of foods. We asked the owner where he would recommend for us to go for yummy Korean foods, and he said Joa 100%! So, we did! Wowza! There were 4 of us, and we all would give this place 5 stars! Our waiter was absolute amazing, and his recommendation was spot on! We ordered a combo dish - I think it was called taste of Texas. It was a combined of yummy meats, shrimp, side dishes with soups, shrimp pancake. There were more foods than we could have imagined, and the meats were oh so fresh. It even came with ice cream for each of us at the end. We will definitely come back!
google avatar

Hannah A.

Yelp
We did the Taste of JOA for 2 and it was definitely a bang for your buck! The sides were delicious and plentiful. The meat was perfect and juicy. We especially enjoyed the teriyaki pork belly. We got the cream corn cheese and I'd say it was good but you could skip it. Nothing crazy but still good. The service was great. Our waitress was very accommodating and gave us a good overview on how to cook the meat after we chose the option of doing it ourselves. The overall vibe was great. Clean and private. We went around 5:30 PM on Friday with a reservation and it wasn't too crowded, but definitely make sure to make a reservation!
google avatar

Yelp
Our group of 4 came so hungry and left so full we didn't even go out for desserts afterwards! Upon arriving the inside of this restaurant looked very modern and clean. The dimly lite interior and bright red neon signs give it a very intimate, but fun vibe. We were starving so we opted for the Taste of Joa, which the menu states it serves 2, but comfortably fed 4 of us! All the meats were fresh and delicious. We also ordered the Mountain Bulgogi Hot Pot which was such a fun dish to eat! I would love to go back and have this again in the winter time. The meat, noodles and rice cakes soak up all the flavorful broth around the base. Pork jowl is my fav and I'm so glad we added a side of this. Our server, Peter, cooked it to crispy perfection. If you've seen the movie Parasite or love chapaguri, get the yummy steak noodles! If you're looking at appetizers, definitely get the beef tartare. It was one of my fav items and so refreshing with pieces of Korean pear mixed in. We also completely devoured all the banchan, which were ALL really amazing tbh. We all already want to go back ASAP so I highly recommend coming hungry with all your meat lovin' friends!

Yelp
Didn't take as many pictures as I normally do....Sorry! Finally made my way to Dallas to try JOA. The place is a vibe, great decor, ambience and music. Service was ehhhhh, it took awhile for our server to even come to the table initially and then through out the night there was very little urgency in him coming back to the table when we did need something. He was nice but his service skills were very slow. The menu is set up nice; they have two set meals for the bbq; everything else is basically al la carte. We ordered the octopus appetizer, which was excellent. Perfectly cooked and the sauce complimented it and the daikon so well. We also ordered the Beef Tukbokki, which was very tasty as well. The banchan and soup were good. I loved the addition of cheese to the steamed egg. The Taste of Texan was really nice as well. Great cuts of meat; just wish it had more marinaded options. It was more than enough food for us. Prices are on the higher end and worth it for some dishes. Cool experience, glad I tried it, but Koryo is still hands down the best place for Korean bbq; Ari next.

Yelp
I had an awesome meal here with Eric R. and his parents. It was a very rainy day as we made our way north, determined to try this new KBBQ place. We decided to share everything (besides my drink of course, ha)! I ordered a yuzu mojito, and it was so good I ended up going to Total Wine the next day to by Yuzuri yuzu liquor! The service here was outstanding too! We ordered the Taste of Joa: Prime short rib, Black Angus hanger steak, Black Angus marinated bone-in short rib, Black Angus ribeye, and shrimp. This also came with banchan (the favorite was the radish and jalapeno pickles), rice, onion and scallion salads, soybean soup with beef and tofu, and a chilled cucumber soup for a palate refresher. We each got a sauce plate with ssamjang, sweet soy, and salt. The grill got a little bowl of garlic in sesame oil which got amazingly soft like garlic confit as the grill cooked it. This was an amazing addition to our meal. We also ordered steak noodles with black bean paste which was also very tasty. Banchan and salads were refilled throughout as requested. The staff helped us cook the meat, but this family does not like same doneness for our beef, so my mother-in-law barely cooked hers, and Eric R. and I had more cooked beef. I think we all liked the hanger steak and marinated short rib the best. We were very satisfied and stuffed. Cold water was replenished often, and hot barley tea is complimentary, as is chocolate ice cream for dessert. I highly recommend a fun outing here at Joa! Mashisoyo!

Yelp
I would definitely come here again. Our severs name was Sammy and she was great. Me and my date got the signature. It didn't look like much to eat but by the end of the meal we were stuffed. The meats and veggies were delicious. And worth the price. Me and my date found the first meat they served us and the last meat to be especially delicious. The shrimp was great too! We thought the bean sprout soup was very spicy and didn't eat much of it. Good flavor though. Our drink were delicious. I got the queen of the sea. The ice cream at the end was good too. Cookies and cream and pecan praline. Overall, great experience, would come again. Final bill was around 150 for two people. It's a nice place and the playlist was on 2000s music. It's in a sketchy part of town, and near another good Korean place.

Yelp
Parking: Plenty of close parking, had no issues. Service: Terrible. We got sat literally right in front of the door. If you get sat there, ask them to move you! Worst seat in the restaurant!! 90+ degree weather so you felt the hot gushes of wind every single time someone came in or left the restaurant which made for a sweaty dinner because the grill is in front of you already creating heat. I looked around since it was my first time there, taking in the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant when a man (who I'm assuming is the manager because he came around to ask how we were but never took any orders) came and asked "Why do you keep looking around?" The waiter was the worst part of this dining experience. I read so many reviews about how great the service was and I was looking forward to this restaurant for weeks, since I went on my birthday for dinner with my boyfriend...all for the waiter to not even look at me while he spoke or asked for our order. He only spoke to my boyfriend. He explained the menu to him, not looking at me once. When he asked what we would like to order, he asked my boyfriend. When he checked up on us, he asked my boyfriend if there was anything else we needed. It was VERY weird. Food: The only reason they're getting 3 stars. The food was phenomenal! Quality meats for sure! We weren't given the option of our waiter cooking our food (go figure) so my boyfriend cooked it and it was perfect! The sides were sooo good, genuinely could eat the sides alone! Cheese corn wasn't that good but everything else was amazing! Drinks were just okay. Ambiance: Dark, a great feel for a date night spot. Overall the food was delicious and amazing but I would definitely go somewhere else for a celebration.

Yelp
Fantastic service by our waiter Jon! He thoroughly explained the menu to us, helped with the grilling, and was friendly. Highly, highly recommend JOA and ask for Jon!

Yelp
Came here with a group of six to celebrate a birthday party. The service was great and the food was amazing. The owner came around and checked up on us and even let the birthday girl choose a croc charm from a book that he had which was super cute. Our server was really knowledgeable and friendly although the only thing I will say is, I wish they weren't so invasive and let us cook our own meat. They constantly came over and insisted on doing it for us, even when we were in the middle of doing it ourselves. Other than that, everything else was phenomenal.

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing experience we had celebrating my partners Birthday! Courtney Percival and the entire staff at JOA did an outstanding job from start to finish! The menu was amazing and we rented the Private dining room for our party which was STUNNING and the ambiance was ! The waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure we all had a great time. Will be recommending JOA to everyone we know! Thank you so much!

Yelp
Came to visit my friend in TX and she took me here straight from the airport. Immediately I noticed that it was a was a fun, casual place for groups of friends to meet for dinner and experience KBBQ. The quality of the meat was okay.. it's definitely not meat that melts in your mouth, but it was still good. Also wish veggies to wrap the meat were complimentary bc they normally are at Korean BBQ restos. The server was very friendly but seemed lost when it came to serving wine properly. Still, the manager came by and made sure we were happy which was nice of him, and overall it was a good time.
