I called to find out if this location was one closing after all. Originally it was not on the list I saw published but the news said all stores. I wanted to know when the sales would start. The phone rang with no answer. I heard what sounded like someone picked up and only so it would stop ringing. No voice ever said anything. I sure hope Augusta gets a better store than this in the near future. There is never enough people working and at the check outs. Good luck to those that do work there if you have lost your jobs.

Google
I wasn't super impressed last time I went. The employees were really nice and did what they could, but there were only 2 of them that seemed to be handling everything so it looked to me like they were understaffed and overworked (which is NOT their fault. This review is for the store/company not the employees). I placed an online /pickup in store order a few days ago, and drove 45 min as this was my nearest store. There was no sign or anything that said where to go for pickup, eventually had to wait in the checkout line to get my order, then they could not find it, and when they did, I checked the bag before I left and an item was missing. To her credit, the lady who put my order together did go get the item for me when I went back in, but if I hadn't checked the bag that would be a long drive for some sewing machine needles!!! Also, there were a lot of sales, but even the huge discounts basically brought the items down to the price you'd pay at Hobby Lobby regardless. They do have an impressive selection of fabric, I'll give them that, but everything is horribly overpriced if you get unlucky enough to not have a sale/coupon. They really need to have more people working during the holiday season for everyone's sanity, and they need to tidy up the store.

Google
I love this store, it is ten minutes away from my house, I go there before any of the other craft stores, I love all their products, this store is number one by my books. I wish they carried the new products that come out, I miss out online to the get the new yarns especially the Christmas yarns a few to select from other new ones never arrived at this store, why is that?

To be honest I don't come to these type of stores regularly, but there was a lot of stuff in this store. I ended up not getting the item I was looking for due to another item I ordered online was delivered to my chosen location while I was in the store.

Google
Horrendous wait at both the cutting counter and register. The worker at the fabric line apologized for the crazy wait and explained they are out of tickets. Easy fix, ever heard of a pen and paper?? At least then I could walk around and wait for my number to be called instead of being stuck in line. Spent literally 30 minutes waiting IN EACH LINE! They wasted an hour of my life today. Inexcusably ridiculous. Will definitely never return.

This Joann's is terrible. It's always so poorly stocked, it's absolutely filthy, the lights are always flashing to the point it makes you want to throw up, and it's just plain bad. You walk in and are greeted with empty shelves immediately. Just save the hassle and go to one of the other hobby stores, or order online (if you can afford the prices that is)

Great store every time I go, but it’s so sad hearing the news that all Jo-Ann stores are closing :(

Google
I enjoy this store very much. 😁 The people who work here are so very kind and helpful. When I have had questions on prices and sales, the lady who cuts the fabric was patient and kind with me- told me the sale prices before she cut the product so I wouldn't have any buyer's regret- which made me feel like a more confidant shopper- and I felt better about making such a large purchase in the process! Because I had so many items, I waited for there to be no line before I approached as I knew I would take more time because of my full buggy and my questions. She was so helpful. She understood what I was asking and she scanned each, telling me the sale price, so I could make an informed decision. I was delighted with the Labor Day and clearance sales that I found, and even happier with how easy the employees made it for me to find all these bargains. One lady, who was putting back fabric, took her time and gave me an assist on color matching some fabric. She suggested a roll which worked very well in my schema. Very thoughtful! The cashier was friendly, took care with the delicate and glass items, and was very personable. The bathroom was not bad. It had toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. There wasn't a bunch of stuff on the floor and the sinks didn't have stuff in them. I'm not a fan of the press water facets. They turn off too fast and these were no exceptions. It is understandable but it'd be better if they were set for a little longer time perhaps. The store was clean, people were busy and putting away things, putting out things, helping people, and it looked and smelled nice. I will come back!

Yelp
I recently picked up a new hobby, CROCHETING. I'm a savvy shopper and I love a good deal. The few times I've been there I've picked up soo much yarn at a great price (I compare prices before going to a store). On top of the already great prices for the yarn, I also add any coupons that I find. It's also a great place to pick up other craft items. I find myself walking down all the aisles mesmerized by all the items they carry. Joann's always seems a bit deserted and there's never any lines. In the past month I've been here 4 times and it's just about time for my next yarn fix.

Yelp
Associates are super helpful, since I don't know to much about fabric. Ruth helped me and walked me through how I would repair my bleach stains.

Yelp
I've been real into sewing lately and that's brought me to Joann's. Their fabric section is plentiful and just about every time we go something that catches my eye is on sale. Their Christmas fabrics are super cute by the way. Weekdays or early afternoons I find is the prime time to visit. Never have an issue at the fabric section when it comes to getting it cut. Weekends at night and it's slower than the snail trying to get to class from the movie Monster's University. Checking out is the most problematic aspect of this store. An incredibly long line this evening, plenty of cash registers, but only two employees were helping. Made check out terribly long. Other than that, can't complain.

Yelp
Staff was help in finding white wicker baskets I use for making toys for parrots for the holidays. Store was neat and well stocked.

Yelp
Sorry I am giving a 2 star because of the wait in line with over five people and one cashier, that like to be sociable. I love the store it has everything you could want for craft, and sewing.Beautiful fabric, but the customer service is very poor. You need to have 2 cashiers ,when the line is long, why are your people. This is not the first time. I think twice before going into your store due to the cash out wait.Oh if you do happen to find a floor staff not to friendly.

Yelp
This Joann's store is oversized for the amount of product on hand, & it was probably very popular at one time. When I visited this store, the 1st thing is saw was empty shelves & disorganized items. I didn't find the items I was looking for & when I did peruse the holiday decorations, they were over priced & I felt I could make the item better myself (thanks YouTube & DIY)! This store needs a major makeover & not sure how much longer it will be in business ‍. I hope it can be salvaged or if it'll be replaced by Hobby Lobby or Michael's, that may be an alternative if it saves jobs &IES for the community to retain a materials/Décor retailer.

Yelp
OMG I love this store! The selection for Hone Decor and Crafts is amazing and affordable. And let's talk about good old fashioned customer service. Employees asking me if I needed help and Chloee the cashier she was so professional and friendly! So helpful with my questions. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Never use curbside shopping. Charged me for items not in srock when ordered. Had to text, wait and call at pick up for 1/2 order. Rest of order not in stock. Have now been on hold 31 minutes and counting on status of credit.

James K.

Yelp
10/7/22 I drove 40 min from work to get there before closing to pick up an online order (it would've taken 30 seconds to grab, it was already paid for) and the doors were already locked. The employee just stared at me and laughed. I had called them ahead of time and asked if I could just run in to grab it, but the lady was very rude and said "once the doors lock, we're not opening them again." Well I was there before closing and they still did not want to help at all. They must really hate their job here. I'm tempted to just cancel my order because clearly they don't treat their employees well if they're this hateful and petty.

Yelp
For the DIYer, JOANN will be one of your go to places for your projects. Have you ever broken a zipper on a favorite jacket and contemplated donating, selling it or wait...minor repair work. I chose the latter which brought me to the store. You would not realize how many different types of zippers they have: (Sports, Metal, Two way-opening, Molded plastic, coiled teeth, die-cast teeth, etc and the list goes on not to mention various sizes.) I literally got a headache trying to figure out which one to get. I guess an employee saw my head starting to smoke and came over to help. After explaining what I needed she directed me to the zipper in question and viola. Satisfaction and a smile.

Yelp
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Joann's Fabric!!!!! I can't say enough about this store. I've been shopping here for years. I even patronized them when they were just down the street in another shopping plaza. Everything about this store is great to me. From the craft supplies to the fabrics, I'm so in love with this store. They have a great selection of art supplies. I have spent hours in this store admiring the items and purchases alot of them. I think their selection is better than most of the craft stores in the area. Everything is very accessible. The sections and aisles are easy to maneuver through. The prices are really reasonable for the quality of product you are getting. The fabric selection is to die for. I have found some of the most beautiful and affordable fabrics here! The fabric section is large and there are many great fabrics here. There is also a pattern section where you can look through books, find, and purchase patterns. They also sell sewing machines. They are very affordable. They also have people here to go over the functions of the sewing machine with you. They are usually very knowledgeable and can guide you in the right direction as to what sewing machine is best for you. This store offers several classes during each month. You can ask one of the cashier for a schedule of all the classes. They are really good classes too, for a small fee for each one. The staff here is great as well. They will help you with anything that you may need help with. They go above and beyond the call of duty, and they have the sweetest and nicest personalities. I can say this is a perfect store to get all your crafting supplies. Whenever you are in an artsy mood they are here to provide you with wonderful merchandise and great customer service. I've been a fan of this store for a long time and these are the several reasons why I'm still a fan. As long as they keep up the good work I will be here to spend my money with them!!!

Jay M.

Yelp
So they have a lot of the items you need. But service is HORRIBLE. You take a number to get fabric cut- they call the number to no answer, then go to the phone and put it on the loudspeaker and then STAND THERE AND WAIT instead of calling the next number or taking the next person in the (long) line standing there. It was laughable. Here's an idea- ask the next person in line what their number is, call all the intervening numbers and take them if/when they show up. BTW, none of the people called ever showed up. Then you get to go stand in the cashier line which is glacial. Each piece of fabric gets a long 10 digit number that ha to be written down by hand and keyed by hand. Hasn't anyone figured out a better way? This place gives me hives.

Yelp
I've got a new hobby that involves lots of fabric and after shopping around, it looks like JoAnn's is the place to be. They have lots of great options depending on your project. You can find fabric for clothing, quilting, upholstery etc. You have the option for receive coupons via text. You actually receive 20% off your first purchase when you sign up. That's great when coupled with there already affordable fabrics. The fabric cutting line is setup like the DMV, so you pull a number and wait until it's called or shows up on the display. I actually appreciated it because the day of my visit was busy and I didn't want to fight anyone over a spot in line. They have several other items like frames, home decor, craft materials etc. I'll likely be visiting here again in the near future.

Yelp
So I go here and to Hobby Lobby for most of my crafting needs. They have the largest selection of fabrics in the area (that I'm aware of). The store is always moving things around it seems, I guess to keep you there for longer and maybe buy things you weren't planning on. There are some very kind people who work here, but it seems like they're stretched thin. I would give the store 3 stars if it wasn't absolutely awful for mothers. I'm not even a Mom but while frequenting the store with a friend with a newborn, her son had a blow out. These things happen, ok. Well when she went to change him in the bathroom, there was no changing station. We asked an employee where we could go and she brought us to a cubby hole where the manager's office and employee break room was. Not into either one of these rooms, but into the entry way, as the rooms were closed and you needed a code to get in. Well here we are on the floor (THE FLOOR) changing a baby diaper and the store manager (I asked an employee who she was after the fact) comes out and steps over the baby. I'm sorry, we're we in your way?!? She never said anything to either one of us. Not "excuse me" or "sorry my store is unequipped for women with babies, of which is our main target audiance." All in all the place is a "run in and grab what you need and go" kind of place. Make sure you bring coupons too! For the love of all that is holy, try not to pay full price for anything here.

Yelp
It is hard to write a review for a Fabric Store. I don't generally appreciate how crowded the fabric section is in relation to how few employees there usually are. it can take FAR too long to get your fabric cut. But there is a selection of things that can't be found at other Fabric or Craft Stores in the area. There are good deals and coupons that can be stacked or doubled frequently. I use this as

Dan B.

Yelp
Someone has forgotten to let this store know that customers shouldn't have to wait in line forever. If there were only another store.

Ivy P.

Yelp
The store was organized and well maintained but their staff need help with customer service. They'd rather kids be running around crazy through the store than hold and drop ball as their mom shops. My son is 3 and wasn't hurting or bothering anyone but was yelled by the fabric attendant to stop playing with the ball (which they have a bin of on sale). Needless to say, he didn't want to buy the ball after that. Next time I'll wait until Monday to go to Hobby Lobby for my craft supplies.

Yelp
I love this store's selection of craft items & fabrics and their politics are much less offensive than Hobby Lobby, so this is my crafting store of choice. The fabric section employees are really friendly, but throughout the rest of the store it's practically impossible to find an employee when you need help and the cashiers are often really awkward. The worst drawback to the store is the ridiculous line. Getting fabric cut took about 15 minutes and waiting to pay took an additional 10. Once at the cashier, be sure to use a coupon! The iPhone app is handy for coupons. Side note, I know some people only have iPods and can't use the app in the store without wireless. An easy way around that is to just screep-cap the coupon (press home button and top button simultaneously). Easy peasy!

Yelp
So I really don't like writing negative reviews. My trip there today was SO bad. They were doing inventory or something and we couldn't move around. The employees literally huffed about letting my wife and I walk down the isle or look at a product. This was the worst shopping experience I've had in the last year. I'm wondering why they wouldn't do whatever it is they were doing at night when the store is closed. It was a terribly frustrating experience and no one was willing to help.

Yelp
Joann's Augusta, GA stayed open during the shutdown, providing craft supplies to people that needed something to do. I love their yarn and fabric choices. Being able to do my crafts helped me get through the past months. Joann provided free materials for us to make masks for first responders & healthcare personnel. This was new for me and I loved doing something for those groups! Barbara coordinated the face mask sewing efforts, which was made more difficult due to increasingly severe material shortages. Elastics, interfacing and lots of fabrics come from overseas. (China is the major elastic supplier!) Monica and the staff marched on in a pretty constant Black Friday mode. They did very well with what they had & adjusted to new regulations, all while dealing with sometimes frustrated customers. Not all customers were nice, in fact many were nasty. Online orders to pickup in store spiked to over 300 orders in one weekend. Many shoppers wanted their orders overnight, disregarding that they were far down the list of orders. Thank you to all Augusta, GA Joann staff for staying open and helping us out during the shelter & stay home orders. I hope the stock starts coming in soon and the customers appreciate your sevice!

Yelp
First off this place has a great selection and very polite staff. I gave them 3stars because every time I am in line to check out it is VERY long (and I understand that isn't something the story itself can control), but despite that the line will be extremely long to check out...you will still then have to wait even longer because the cashiers still try to upsale everything. I totally get that the company itself will want ANYONE and EVERYONE who is willing to sign up for coupons and discount cards and what not. But each cashier should have the intelligence to know when it is appropriate to try to push those items and when it is not appropriate to push those items. Heres a hint: it is not a good idea to push extra anything when the line is already 15-20 mins long....good store though

Yelp
People are so nice, helpful there. Selection is very good, always have a lot to choose from!

Yelp
a large selection of fabric and craft for the do it yourselfer and friendly and helpful staff

Rhonda H.

Yelp
I would love to say this is my favorite store to shop but the customer service is deplorable. I had a bad experience in January 2015 that left me so frustrated that I had not returned to the store until today. Seven months later, my inferior customer service experience was repeated. A seasoned employee snapped at me, a new employee who made a mistake, and was generally rude. When the employee called a manager to help solve the problem of fabric being cut the wrong way, the manager would only answer over the earpiece. This is the same thing that happened in January when I had a difficult return. I walked out of the store today without purchasing any of the items I had gone for and went to Hobby Lobby. The items were not on sale at Hobby Lobby so I ended up paying more, but it was well worth it based on the service I received there. I will not be back to shop at JoAnn Fabric unless some major changes are made in how they view their customers and how they treat their staff.
