This was a very quaint little bakery. The lady at the counter was super nice and welcoming. They do only a few things BUT THEY DO THEM WELL. The Puff Puff - were just the right amount of sweet and pillowy. The beef pie with potatoes - so good and comforting. The molasses cookies - full of flavor and spice. The hibiscus juice - they make in-house and it was super refreshing. (No seating, so we walked to oromo cafe to eat our pastries and have a coffee) Super affordable. Highly recommend.

I had the beef meat pie and cinnamon roll last weekend and have thought about them every day since! the cinnamon roll was so soft, gooey, filled with cinnamon, and had the perfect amount of icing. I think it took over the #1 spot for favorite cinnamon roll in Chicago for me. the meat pie was seasoned perfectly and the pastry was so tender - not tough or doughy at all. we went a bit late and the meat pie was still very warm inside, making it a great option for an on the go snack on a cold day. the cashier was very kind and was happy to explain the differences in fillings for the savory pastries (they had beef, chicken, and vegetable flavors). I'd love to try a loaf of bread next time, or really anything else they're offering! you'll probably find it hard to choose with how delicious everything looks in the case.

Stumbled across this place on a walk and ended up coming back a second time in the same day! After trying the soft/chewy puff puffs (with a chocolate drizzle) that have a similar texture to mochi donuts and the massive cinnamon roll with a heaping serving of icing, I had to come back for the savory pastries which were also top notch! The only thing that was not served was coffee so we ended up taking the goodies down the street. Looking forward to going back for a loaf of Agege bread and another serving of... Everything.

Randomly noticed this place on a walk and decided to pop in, and I'm so happy I did. I bought some meat pies, a loaf of Agebe bread, and a couple different types of donut like pastries. The meat pies were divine, my only regret was that I didn't buy more, having never tried Nigrerian pastries before and not knowing what to expect. The donut pastries were perfectly fried and chewy almost like a mochi donut, which was a perfect addition for my morning coffee the next day. The Agege bread was the icing on the cake for returning though. It's very similar to Japanese style Shokupan milk bread, which takes me 3-4 hours to make from scratch. Being able to buy a similar flavor and texture profile loaf instead from a store in walking distance is going to be amazing when I'm not feeling the labor.

My boyfriend and I like to try different bakery’s out when we watch new episodes of Great British Bake Off. we’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and it was amazingly delicious. The donuts were warm, chewy, and not too sweet, reminds me of beignets or funnel cake. The cinnamon roll was great as well, the cream cheese icing was delightful. Can’t wait to go back. The prices were more than reasonable and the woman behind the counter was very nice.

Amazing puff puffs and I’m not a doughnut person usually! Proprietor was so friendly. Tried a refreshing distinctive malted soda, maltina. Meat pie with Nigerian spicing was delicious.
