"Some of the best Nigerian food can be found just outside the District in suburban Maryland, where there’s a a healthy population of African residents. Jodeem cooks its jollof with long grain parboiled rice, which results in a less starchy consistency. Save room for an extra serving of fried plantains." - Vinciane Ngomsi

Had their oha soup, could be better. But their jollof rice is the star. Quantity could be better. Cos every meal ends up being about $20. But clean place

The only reason this restaurant did not receive five stars is because I feel the food is overly spicy and hot 🥵 … very flavorful, but just too damn hot… i’ve heard many customers complain about the food. Being too spicy but they just ignore it. I wish they offered pepper sauce on the side instead as an option because this is not the type of food you could feed to your kids…. if it wasn’t for this problem, I would eat there more often… so far I’ve ordered the cassava leaf and curry goat. They give very nice portions, and the prices are fairly decent

Went on sunday 6/16 the fair skin lady with the short haircut took more than 15-20 minutes to package jellof rice-plaintain- customers came and went aft i had been waiting for over 20 min and one stick of suya- and put 2 tablespoons of rice in the container and 4piecs of fat and bone for the goat meat requested😡😡😡😡😡.Another server older woman with braids- was rude- when asking for an item. Be conscious of how u treat customers- without customers there's no business- food for thought

Jodeem Jodeem. It’s one thing to move to a new land and it’s another to start your own business in a new land. It’s definitely another scenario having a successful business in this new land! However Mr. Jodeem has achieved this remarkable task. I’ve been a regular here for several years. The food is always fresh The staff is attentive & friendly. I have so much joy in knowing delicious food similar to food from my original country is right around the corner. I’m a fan of the fish stew with red sauce. I love the puff puff! I’ve just been introduced to the pepper soup which pairs well with this time of year. Thank you Mr. Jodeem and your wonderful team!

This is my go-to spot when I do not feel like cooking egusi soup or cassava leaf. I’m Nigerian so I’ve tried some places around town that weren’t that great. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The egusi is top tier. I usually only get the egusi and cassava leaf with beef or goat and moi moi. All the other menu items, I make at home but I would definitely try it if I didn’t cook. As far as the spice, it’s perfect! I always ask for more spice too. Nigerian food is typically spicy. I’m sure this place cooks in bulk and most of the customers don’t mind the spice. If they were to cook a small batch without spice I’m sure that food would go to waste. If you don’t like spice, this is not the place for you.

I love me some Jodeem. This ain’t regular mall food. If you want that keep it moving. My food was a combination of from the already prepared bar and made fresh to order. Large portions and delicious. Fresh food was a wait and worth the wait. Plan your day accordingly or order from already prepared.

This is by far some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life. I walked in just to check it out and the owner was super kind. He offered me a small cup sampling a few flavours and I was immediately blown away by the richness, depth and quality of the various flavours I was experiencing. I then asked if he could just make me a big tray full of a few things - kind of like a sampler platter - and I’m very glad I asked for that. Honestly, this is some of the best food in the world. Highly, highly recommend a visit!!!
