Where to Eat and Drink During the Kentucky Derby Day in Metro Detroit | Eater Detroit

"The Hazel Park Raceway sadly shuttered this year, but the city’s bars are still celebrating horse racing’s most popular event. Neighborhood hotspot Joebar is tuning its TVs to the race on Saturday and serving themed food and drinks including mint juleps, spiked sweet tea, hot brown sliders, and Derby pie. Patrons who come dressed in their Derby best will receive prizes. The event runs from 2 p.m. to midnight." - Eater Staff

I think this place oughta celebrate MC5 for having a connection through Nunzio's. MC5is getting inducted into the Rock Hall soon with the ceremony weeks away. One of the places they hun out that is still standing should be a part of the allure of the Rock Hall Induction. Glad to see the building still going well. Best of Success moving ever forward.

For a quiet noooo loud noise or TV shows other than one screen. This is a great place to stop and play a game of pool. Tables are only 75 cents and still have quarter jukebox playing all my favorite country songs. Very mellow crowd. Great staff and very nice.

Cool little bar . Had fun . They didn't have high noon or white claw for the lady's. They did great job on mixed drinks to compensate for no high noons or white claws.. I like the home town feeling you get from a small bar. I will definitely go back.

Fun little neighborhood bar. The waitresses are very friendly and the prices are good. And while I wouldn't say that this place is necessarily a dive bar, Joe & Joe's is an older building with a blue collar crowd. Their food menu is not deep and is all frozen and fried on a flat top. Overall, it's not an upscale place with indepth entres or platters. But it is a fun bar with good atmosphere.

Yelp
Joe & Joe's Bar is a cool dive bar where the beer is cold and Emily was a great bartender. There is nothing fancy about this place, hence why I call it a dive bar, but dive bars embrace a culture all their own. The ambiance is in the lack of ambiance and walking in here is to walk back in time or maybe to a place where time is suspended and the universe revolves around that cold beer before you. All in all, a very positive experience and I give it five stars.
