12 Gym-Adjacent Go-Tos for D.C.’s Workout Warriors | Eater DC

"For convenience in downtown Bethesda, the global juice bar with the cult following holds a slight edge over neighboring Puree Juice. Early-morning hours make it a convenient place to grab an Energizer, Sports Juice, or avocado sandwich ahead of a pre-work workout. SoulCycle, Equinox, and Pure Barre are less than a block away."

"This Bethesda outpost from a European chain has coffees in all sizes, along with a juicer and flatbread sandwiches. Sorry, no decaf for those who want their java without the caffeine kick. Joe & The Juice recently opened two locations downtown too." - Rebecca Gale

This place is always dirty. Workers don’t clean after guests leave and the tuna sandwiches rarely have enough tuna in. It’s the base ingredient. I don’t get it. So frustrating! Try the Rockville location - much cleaner, better food and service!

Google
I've only twice been to Joe & the Juice, and this visit was noticeably more comfortable and cozy. For a juice place, this is one of the best around. Cleo helped improve the experience, and was helpful and exceptionally friendly. When in Bethesda, I will be back.

Google
Great Vibes & Even Better Juice! My wife and I had an awesome visit to Joe & The Juice in Bethesda. We tried a little bit of everything and loved it all—the lavender latte was smooth and relaxing, the Feeling Good juice lived up to its name, and the Herb Tonic gave us the perfect mid-day boost. We also shared an açaí bowl that was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The place has a great vibe—modern, clean, and upbeat with friendly staff and fast service. Whether you’re grabbing a quick health kick or looking for a chill place to hang out, this spot hits the mark. We’ll definitely be back!

We stopped at Joe & the Juice to get a cup of coffee. I did ask for my cappuccino to be extra hot, which it was, but the coffee itself was very strong and bitter. Sitting outside in the shade was nice, but I’ll have to keep trying until I find a good cuppa

super yummy matcha and love the spicy tunacado! staff is always friendly!

Ordered oat milk and got milk milk… I haven’t had milk in ages so of course I had a reaction! Service was sweet but please pay attention to tickets!! Im lucky my lactose intolerance isn’t extremely severe.

Henry is amazing and creates the whole atmosphere, He did some cool latte art for me too

Google
Really cute spot to have a coffee/tea/juice date. Lots of seating inside, great decor/ambience. Little enjoyed the juice, I enjoyed a earl grey almond milk tea. You can purchase a drink card (example 10 drinks at a time, slightly discounted) if you go frequently. Would recommend going if you need a nice spot to hang with friends, non-juice drinks are good (but not super amazing).

Yelp
Great Healthy Brunch Love Joe & the Juice, because it's perfect and they offer lactose free shakes, my favorite. On this day, I ordered a Strawberry Power Shake and an Açaí bowl. I was in the mood for something healthy and both these items were delicious and tasty options. All totaled, both items were a little pricy so be prepared to bring your wallet with a decent amount of cash. This would be good for an occasional treat or meal. The staff were great, helpful and friendly. They made my items quickly and with skill, calling me promptly when they were ready for pick up. The atmosphere was easy and breezy. If you haven't already tried them, you'll love it.

Yelp
Love me some juice. We went super early in the morning and couldn't decide what to get. The barista suggested some popular items and they turned out great! I'm a kiwi lover so I got the iron man and my friend got the power shake. Not really sure what else to say other than it was a great morning pick me up!

Yelp
I stopped by Joe & the Juice for a quick warm drink on a freezing day a week or ago when I was in Bethesda for a facial. The space is large and comfortable, and the service was good. But I ordered a London Fog. Maybe it was my fault it was so bad; it's not necessarily in their wheelhouse. But it really wasn't great (not the right kind of tea or enough tea flavor, it was like drinking a cup of warm milk with a little bit of tea flavor, but not even Earl Grey). Ultimately, I think I'd stick to drip coffee if I visit in the future.

Yelp
Variety of healthier options. Centrally located in the newer section of downtown Bethesda with nice outdoor seating options for the more pleasant months of the year. The service was quick. With a dedicated staff person for each station of food, juice, and coffee, our order was ready in just a couple of minutes. I was very pleased with my Eggcado Bowl. I'm not usually a big fan of sriracha, but it added a lot to the dish. I'll probably try another juice the next time around.

Yelp
It was my first time today, but I talked to a few regulars during my 10+ minute wait for a matcha and was told it's always busy, so a 10ish minute wait isn't that unusual. I ordered a matcha grapefruit tonic and it was deliciously bitter , which is what I wanted! Lovely. They seem to have a great selection of coffee, smoothies, and sandwiches. If coming in for a weekday breakfast I'd use the "order ahead" feature on their app to have my food ready when I arrive. I appreciate the free WiFi and desk-style tables in the back for those hoping to get some work done. Overall great vibes.

Yelp
It's a vibe, a healthy vibe! Cute and pink radiant atmosphere, helpful and welcoming customer service, a variety of juices, smoothies, & lattes all customizable.

Yelp
At $19 for a coffee and a juice, this place is not cheap. That being said... it's REALLY good. Not only are the juices delicious (and actually healthy!), but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that their coffee is also fantastic. After going in for the first time, I was happy to find out that their baristas are actually skilled baristas. Lots of places treat coffee as an afterthought and don't put too much effort into all of the little things that make an espresso drink good, but not here. The vanilla latte is the perfect amount of sweet, and the texture of the milk was perfect for the pretentious coffee drinkers out there. The Joe's Green Mile is my favorite, and with an apple, avocado, and kiwi dropped in there it's got a bunch of fiber and healthy fats to boot. I didn't love the brownie to be honest, and that was not worth the price for me, but plenty of of people say it's the best one they've ever had, so what do I know. Overall I recommend if you want to treat yourself to something delicious and somehow still really good for you.

Yelp
Upon first entrance, this coffee shop is a dream. The branding is so fun, and it was the perfect place to get some work done while visiting home. I'd heard about the viral, TikTok famous tunacado and knew exactly what I had to order. Honestly, it was good, but I was underwhelmed. Maybe I needed more pesto or sauce (per TikTok commenters suggestions and I don't even remember there being pesto???). I did like that it's whipped and that the thin bread is nice and toasty, and I would get it again, it just wasn't OH MY GOD I'M NEVER EATING ANYTHING ELSE AGAIN IN MY LIFE good... ya know? The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the location as well.

Yelp
Today I bought a chai latte and it was hands down the worst chai latte I've ever had. Watered down, it could have almost been water with some flavor. Chalky, the instant powder (tasted like powder anyway) was not combined properly. Metallic sweet tasting, is it that they use sugar substitutes? I paid $6 for a small cup Two baristas made two different orders (unbeknownst to each other), maybe if they had put their efforts together they could have made a decent chai latte. Also, the place smells like a subway if you're into that.
google avatar

Kylie S.

Yelp
Joe and the Juice make the best sandwiches. Tunacado is my favorite. The texture of the roll is fantastic, the flavors are delicious. The chicken sandwich is also good. I haven't tried the others yet. For $11.00 you won't find a better quick lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Healthy Tasty & Great Service! I'm updating my review. I visited today ordered Tunacado w/spinach & "Stress Down" Juice (strawberries, ginger & ice). Delicious fresh ingredients. Great customer service. Gets Busy during lunchtime. Tip: order via app for faster service. You can also earn rewards i.e. food, drinks. Register via app. Worth another visit!

Yelp
I enjoy Joe & the Juice. I had passed them plenty of times but never stopped until the Tunacado event viral. I have tried both but i prefer the spicy tuna add extra pesto and add avacado. I love their carrot cake as well. I haven't tried the juices yet. I got one for my birthday but i couldn't figure out how to use it.

Yelp
While in Bethesda, my family and I stopped at Joe & The Juice for an iced coffee. We each chose an iced vanilla latte because they don't offer a caramel macchiato. The coffee was strong and good. I was disappointed (hence the 4 stars) because they didn't have decaf coffee. I was up all night! We also ordered banana bread, blueberry and chocolate muffins. The bread and muffins were delicious. I would recommend them definitely.

Brad W.

Yelp
This place is a joke. I ordered a sarrano ham sandwich. Not only did I receive a paper thin slice of ham (I know, it's the nature of this cut), but there was ONLY ONE SLICE. If you come here, brings lots of money with hardly any appetite for mediocre taste. The smoothies were decent. Cashier woman was rude and impatient also.

Yelp
On a scale of romances to documentaries, Joe & The Juice is the setting of a meet-cute in a romance. Why? Keep reading. (tl:dr at the end) As soon as I saw this coffee shop, I knew I had to go. (We were visiting from out of town, and we had an AirBnb nearby) My dog, partner, and I walked over to the complex, and I stashed cash into my pocket to purchase a latte. Once inside, I definitely felt like the frumpiest frump of all the land next to the modern yet cozy hip decor. As I approached the cash register, gripping my cash in my palm, a sinking feeling dripped through me. What if they didn't take cash? "Hi, how can we help you?" The barista asked. "Um," I panicked, "Do you all take cash?" "Oh, I'm sorry we don't, but we have ApplePay." "Okay," My panic increased as I realized I had no idea how to use my ApplePay. "Um, I'll be back." As I turned to walk away to figure out the situation without spectator pressure, a tall man spoke up, "I can pay for you." I looked up at him (and I had to look WAY up, and I'm tall too) to check his offer and make sure he wasn't a creep (come on, you know what I mean). I don't know what made me decide to trust him, but I nodded and said, "Thank you." While I had been prepared to buy much more than just a latte, I ordered a large Vanilla Latte, and the man paid. When I handed him my $5, he tossed it into the tip jar, even though he'd just added a tip to his card. He went back to his laptop at a high top table, and I waited for the latte. When my latte was ready, I smiled and saluted him with it as I walked out of the shop, and I can't help but wonder if this should be the start of a romance novel. tl:dr a nice man bought my coffee when i didn't have a card because Joe & the Juice only takes card or ApplePay

Yelp
I got the chicken and pesto sandwich and it was amazing! The flavors all went together and we were licking our fingers. The texture of the bread OMG! I was sooo in love with it because from the pictures I was like naw! I ordered my food online and it didn't take long to make it and the staff were pleasant. My fiancée said the inside was very clean and giving off hotel lobby vibes. The packaging of the sandwich was too cute!

Yelp
First time here. This place is a little peculiar, I walked in at 3 PM on Wednesday and they were closed, I submitted an edit to have the hours changed. Not sure why the business closes at 3 PM but I'll love along to other options.

Roger P.

Yelp
If you like slow slow slow service and overpriced this is the place for you. Two harried ladies trying to keep up. Why doesn't manager come to help? Probably doesn't give a shite! Absurdly quintessentially slow!

Yelp
Throughly enjoyed my drink from Joe & the Juice. I tried the Iron Man that comes with Apple, kiwi, and strawberries. It was delicious and surprisingly filling! My partner had a brownie as well and said it was great! Not to mention, the storefront is adorable! Plenty of space to spread out and get some work done. It is also decorated to perfection. Finally, the staff was great! It was our first time there and we took a few minutes to decide what we wanted. They were patient and super quick once we finally made a decision. We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
My first visit to this particular location. I prefer the decor at the downtown Bethesda branch but the service at Wildwood was superior, in that they were NICE. The other location felt snobby and.... kids, it's coffee okay? Coffee and juice. At Wildwood they were extremely nice explaining things on the menu. I was very unfamiliar with almost everything they offered, having only been one time to the other location and only had coffee there. This time I ended up with some juice drink of which I forget the name (good but not gingery enough, so I would order extra), a ginger shot (errm...), and a latte (delicious and perfectly made!) The reason I ordered so much is that I had some morning congestion but I also really wanted a coffee. I had gotten up early and rushed out for a doctor's appointment (which actually was not that day!) so if every the conditions were ripe for me to find something to complain about, this was it! But no complaints! I would go again any time I was in the area and give Starbucks a big miss. By the way, that entire shopping center is filled with good restaurants and a homemade ice cream place Yesterday (when I returned on the correct day for my doctor's appointment ) I would have gone in for a latte. It was FREEZING but I chose Sarah's ice cream instead. It's a tough choice!

Yelp
Loved my first time at Joe & The Juice! I came on Friday afternoon for lunch. I had the turkey sandwich and the pick me up juice, both were very yummy! It's really spacious in here and a handful of people working on computers (& free wifi). The music is loud in here but if that's not a bother, it would be a great spot to get some work done.

K K.

Yelp
Haven't tried the food, but had some iced lattes and their matcha protein smoothie, and both were excellent. Ambiance is nice, prices are typical Bethesda, but the service was exceptional, with everyone being super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to grab coffee and lunch! The Joe's bread is kind of addicting and the juice/smoothies are made with no sugar and they're delicious. Do yourself a favor and download the app

Tonya O.

Yelp
Love the brand but this location has the worst service. Insane they hate working there. Once, mid juicing, they took a break to eat a muffin. Expressly letting us know, that we are interrupting their evening. They also make sure to clean the machine and counter before handing over the juice. I think it's why the place is always empty...

Josie

Yelp
while they're food is certainly fantastic i would not say the same for the service. namely how long it takes (especially on weekends) for them to prepare orders. the issue is they take to many to-go orders, forcing them to neglect in store customers. i hope that in the future they will figure out a solution, such as possibly limiting the amount of online orders on busy days like this.

Yelp
Slid past after a Saturday workout at Golds Gym and grabbed the tunacado and the Pick Me Up! First time here and thoroughly enjoyed it! Staff was friendly..I will definitely be back!

Yelp
CUSTOMER SERVICE: I thought the cashier did an okay job. It took me a while what to get and he was just staring at me and didn't suggest their special's or what they're good at. At least ask if I needed help. FOOD: I ordered Joe's Identity and Hell of A Nerve. I thought Hell of A Nerve was an ordinary strawberry and banana smoothie, nothing unique about it. Joe's Identity was distinct. I wouldn't recommend the green smoothies to people that aren't used to fresh vegetables. I thought the smoothies were okay. I just think the prices are too expensive that I would not come here again. I like how the ingredients are made as soon as your order though.

Yelp
This place is pretty dope. Let's start with that. I have been waiting for this area to open a coffee spot that I can come, sip on a good cup of coffee (flat white to be exact), and work/read. But it gets better, you can order fresh juices (I tried the Immunity (DK): pineapple, buckthorn, and apple) or shakes as well! Yep that is right, freshly juiced juices or shakes to order. So if you are not feeling coffee or are not a coffee drinker all together, they got ya covered. They also offer breakfast food and sandwiches, which I have yet to try. But there was a couple sitting next to me eating paninis, and I must say, smelled pretty good! One of the things I love the most is the size and atmosphere. There is plenty of seating, spaced out, the art that is on the wall is pretty fly, and they play some pretty dope tunes as well! A bonus! Plus the place seems to stay pretty clean. Customer service is cool. Any questions? Just ask and they are more than happy to explain anything, like what buckthorn is, lol. You don't feel like you are bothering them. It is also another place that you should not be intimidated by a line because the move pretty quickly. Prices, wellll the price of the juice is high, but last time I checked, any place that you go to that makes juice to order is around the same price. Maybe if they made the sizes a little bigger for the price one pays, then it wouldn't be an issue... But the coffee is average price and since I am mostly a coffee drinker, I am pleased, lol. I definitely will be coming back. I know some other reviewers didn't like it as much. But I would recommend you check it out for yourself and decide.

Yelp
I came here with my family on a Thursday afternoon, Joe & The Juice is located off Woodmont Avenue. There is limited street parking available as well as nearby garages (less than a 5 minute walk). The inside of Joe & The Juice is super cute, there are lots of seating areas available. The vibe is very relaxed, this would be a great spot for a large group to just come, grab a drink and hang out. I ordered the Choco Shake which comes with Raw Cacao, Banana, Choco Almond Milk and Vanilla Milk. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the shake. Less than $10 and it was made fresh :) I will definitely be back to try other menu items! I would recomment Joe & The Juice :)
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Really into the Avo shake they offer. It is creamy, refreshing and savory. I would recommend the drink for sure. I do have a problem with how many comments are about the staff yet nothing seems to actually change. I place mobile orders only for me to get there are they are listening to music on full blast or talking rather than getting my mobile order complete. When I asked where my order was they just glared at me and several moments later asked what I got and they will make it. Tons of other reviews have mentioned the manager and lack of customer service this place has, that alone is not worth a $10 shake.

Yelp
I would like to start by saying that I have traveled the world and seven seas in search for the best coffee and I finally found it! Every cup I have ordered, whether it is iced or hot, americano, or expresó, the coffee is perfect! And so are their sandwiches. I love their bread and how it is toasted to perfection The spicy tuna with avocado is my favorite. But I also like the Serrano sandwich, yummy yummy for the tummy! Their blueberry muffins and carrot cakes are also delicious. Besides their great coffee and food, they keep their place very clean, and the establishment is very spacious and their outdoor couches are very inviting and cozy. The baristas are very friendly and there's one that stands out, she is very cultured. We can talk about traveling, music, she is very knowledgeable and polite. I highly recommend this place. It's not your typical joe!

Yelp
I'm so happy this spot opened up in Bethesda! Definitely a go-to spot! They have VERY yummy smoothies, and even better coffee. Pre-covid, I'd post up at their Los Angeles location often -- such a good vibe and perfect place to knock out work. They play great music, the seats and decor are on point, and the WiFi is fast. If you're at wildwood, definitely stop in here and grab a latte or a drink. Big fan of the turmeric shot (add ginger foe an extra kick). Their iced coffee is phenomenal (ask for light ice), and their green smoothie is so good! The blue one is fantastic too. I recommend frequenting this spot and trying their food too Also... not to be like that, but I'm about to be like that: everything is instagrammable, and if you're a fan of amazing branding, they slay.

Yelp
After a long bike ride on the Capital Crescent Trail, I wanted a recovery drink. In the past, I've gone to Puree the juice bar across the street, but I saw Joe & the Juice and was familiar with the chain, so thought I'd give it a try. I was disappointed with the menu, but I suppose they can't do anything about it because it's a chain. The Re-build shake was the only shake with a protein powder listed among the ingredients. I also ordered an Energizer juice. They took about 5 minutes to make my shake and juice. I was annoyed about that because I saw that one employee was making the drinks and preparing food for other customers, while you had the cashier just standing there doing nothing when I thought she should've helped out. I would've liked to have my drinks quickly- within 2 minutes. The drinks were A-OK. I won't be back. If you want a casual spot to meet a friend, this is a good place to sit down and chat. But for quick juices, go across the street to Puree.

Jack S.

Yelp
What happened to customer service? I placed an order on the company web site for 4 sandwiches and juices. When I went to pickup my order I was informed they cancelled my order due to NOT having cups holders! Really. No call to inform me just cancelled it. I asked to speak to the manager a young kid and he informed me that he decided to cancel it. No apology nothing. What happened to letting me make the decision to carry the drink out to my car myself. To make things worst when I asked for the Regional Managers information the manager informed me that he would only give me the customer service email. I insisted my order be filled and I made three trips to the car to take my food and drinks. I would have thought they would have offered to carry but no offer, no apology nothing. First and last time going there.

Yelp
I haven't been to a Joe and a Juice in about 1.5 years. I was craving a smoothie so I ordered the Rebuild 2.0 shake. It was disgusting! I'm not sure if it's bc it's "vegan", but I used to get a chocolate peanut butter shake years ago that did not taste like that! It was also warm! Overall the store is clean and the staff are friendly. I think they changed their menu and ingredients are not good. Unfortunately I will not be back. I wish there was a Juice Press nearby as they always have solid proteins shakes..
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to this location 2 times already and was satisfied with both experiences. The employees are very helpful with helping explain all the menu items. During both visits they brought our drinks directly to our tables which I thought was very nice. The interior of the place is super cute and cozy - perfect for studying/working. I've tried both the juice and coffee and have enjoyed both. The juices are fresh and healthy, but still taste good. The coffee comes in multiple sizes, but the small cup is the cutest thing ever. Overall a great spot to chill and get some work done. I recommend parking in the garage nearby on Bethesda avenue. It costs $1 per hour.

Yelp
Perhaps I've just been lucky, but I've gotten 2 juices here so far--and they've both been super great! So first, a huge tip: Get the spicy tuna sandwich. SO good, it is such a treat to have and so healthy and tasty. Get it--you won't regret it!! Next, I don't go to juice or smoothie bars normally, because I hate banana and I'm not a huge fan of pineapple, so that already removes most of the options on the menu. I got the AMG, and I really liked it!! It tasted fresh and healthy, and was a great natural taste. I came here earlier today and they sadly didn't have ginger, so my friend and I asked him to just make whatever he thought would be good--and he did it right :). The atmosphere is really trendy and hipster, and there's also nice and comfortable outdoor seating that we enjoyed. Very cute and nice decorating, well done. The reasons why I don't give this place a 5 stars, is that although I've gotten lucky, my friend didn't once and the juice was rather...bland and tasted too much of vegetables (which may have been the aim for the place, but I'm not sure). Another reason is that I think the prices are expensive...so I wouldn't come here often unless I'm treating myself and wanted to be healthy.

Yelp
I've walked by this spot without ever thinking twice about going in. But then a friend told me she's obsessed with Joe & The Juice! So we went in to pick up drinks one evening. What can I say? I'm in! The 4-1-1 On Their Drinks: Juice: I don't drink caffeine after 3pm, so I tried one of their juices my first time in there. Love their unique drink names, and it was funny to have to tell the barista I wanted a "Sex Me Up" juice! Oh well, the passion fruit and ginger combo was worth the awkwardness! Joe: My friend only gets one thing: their Ice Vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso. I tried it one morning, and she was right. It's very creamy and smooth. My friend gets an extra shot of espresso so that it's not too sweet, but I felt like I could have gone without that since I prefer sweet drinks. The Ambiance: I love the setting. It feels like a relaxed old timey coffee shop with all the cue lights and the antique typewriter, globe and books. It made me feel right at home! It never seems busy in there, so it seems like a nice spot to get some work done in peace. I'll be back to test out that theory! Final Verdict: I get the hype. It's definitely pricey, so it will probably be a spot when I deserve a treat. I do love the ambiance and menu. I'll be back.

Melanie Y.

Yelp
I went here twice now and both times, the juice I had was super good and very light--not too sweet. This place totally transformed from the last location which was a chocolate place. It's very hipster, modern decor with plenty of seating inside. I love coming here after yoga for a light refreshment and hits the spot every time.
google avatar

Bryant V.

Yelp
The ambiance, atmosphere, and decorations are all very wonderful and aesthetically pleasing, but not worth the over priced drinks. I decided to kill some time here before meeting up my friend and got a medium "Hell of a Nerve" drink. It tasted okay -- a little more ice and it would've tasted better, but definitely not $9 worth. It does seem like a great little study spot if you're currently in school or would like to get some work done outside the office. I am definitely keeping this in mind for my future study sessions. I will update my review if I come back here again.
google avatar

Jamal B.

Yelp
Very good! We got the Joe's AMG, Prince of Green, and Hell of a Nerve. Whereas the Prince of Green and AMG were definitely "juice", the Hell of a Nerve was more like a "smoothie". My favorite was the AMG. The ginger was pretty noticeable, so don't get it if you don't like ginger. However, the apple and mint worked beautifully together. The Prince of Green tasted really healthy - the lemon was very strong but it worked really good with cucumber and pineapple. The Hell of a Nerve was also good. If you're wondering about what elderflower tastes like, it tastes like apple juice but it's crispy like asian pear. The Hell of a Nerve tastes like that, but mostly like strawberry and banana are more prominent than the elderflower. The vibe here was very nice. Kinda like Soul cycle. They also gave paper straws. so that was nice. My only qualms is that this place is a little expensive, but I would still come back here.

Yelp
This place is definitely Joe's. The layout and decor is rich and dark, reminiscent of a young businessman's bachelor pad. I got the Avo Shake (Avocado, Banana, and Vanilla Milk) and it's really good. Three simple ingredients and you can appreciate all the flavors. A dude that looks like a Joe juiced and blended my drink in this open-layout shop. Then, in a very Joseph way, he called out my name to which I rose off my seat and reported to him. "Thanks man", I said. With a firm head tilt, he nodded me off. Each table is candle-lit which is a nice touch. The music is chill, pop EDM - like a freshly graduated Joe just wandering through the professional world for the first time while holding onto his youth. Wi-Fi is fast. The bathrooms are cool too. Why the low rating? I don't know. Customer service was pretty fast. I read one review saying they only hire Joe's here? But as i speak there is definitely a Jane working the juices too. Nice place!

Yelp
Horrible. Feel bad for the 1 employee working. Waited nearly 20 mins for 2 juice drinks, when received it was not drinkable. Paid $25 (w tip) and it went straight into the trash. Wasn't worth complaining to the 1 guy working. owners should be ashamed.

Yelp
$9.38 I paid 9.38 for my juice.... but I need to discuss something before I discuss the juice. It's actually kinda funny to just sit in this place and look around. The large thinly framed photos that cover the walls and columns from floor to ceiling are an eclectic mix. A bohemian girl torn from Coachella, sitting with her feet propped up in the front of a vintage car, a dream catcher hangs from the rear view mirror, and she is taking a selfie with a regular size camera. Another photo by the door shows braided hair adorned with seashells hanging down in front of what looks to be reclaimed wood. Two hands hang down partially from the top of the photo covered with what looks to be African tribal body paint. A large fat cats head wearing sunglasses with the Joe And The Juice Logo in the reflection of the sunglasses A sepia photo shot from behind a speed boat that is coming into an old European city with two woman who look to be wearing vintage bathing suits. This place is suppose to be real cool. Like trendy AF. In the middle of the space is a large table that has a steel frame that extends up to house 3 shelves. On that table is old firewood buckets, a vintage typewriter, an old globe, vintage books, and at the top sits an old bird cage with an old suitcase next to it. So lets get back to the juice now... I thought my juice was... not so wonderful. I got the Heartbeet: "Organic beetroot, avocado, banana, pineapple, apple." Sounds delicious right? The only thing I taste is beets. The other ingredients don't come through at all. The pineapple and apple I'm sure are mean't to sweeten the drink. There's not enough. I ended up putting a packet of raw sugar in the juice. As an FYI: Joe and the Juice takes to hiring "hunky" guys. And I'll admit, they do a good job of that :)! But I'm not sold on their juice yet. Especially considering the price.

Yelp
It is so refreshing to write this review, as I have visited Joe & The Juice several times, and the customer service experience I received every time is simply awesome! Overall rating: 10/10. Joe & The Juice totally breaks the mold of what is usually offered by most coffee shops serving the Bethesda area. If you want delicious coffee, a hip customer service experience and a welcoming place to tackle that report or paper that you have been putting off, I strongly suggest you visit Joe & The Juice to see if it's a good fit. I did, and Joe & The juice is now one of my favorite places to visit for coffee. Details (long read): Location and parking- A 10/10 in location and 7.9/10 in easiness of parking. This location is on Woodmont Ave, and while there is street parking available (with parking meters), they are usually all taken. There is a public parking about 1 block away, which is easily accessible has plenty of parking. Ideally you'll find street parkin during the visit, but during the weekends, its best to simply head to the public garage and walk 1 block to the café. Décor- An 11/10 in Décor. The industrial décor of the shop is a phenomenal departure from the traditional "coffee shop" vibe most coffee places aim to establish. As soon as you walk in, you are warmly welcomed by at least one (usually more) of the staff attending the coffee/juice bar. The beautiful bright colors of the fruit and veggies used for their juices provide a fresh vibe to the entire shop, as they are all displayed on the main counter (protected by glass). The walls are decorated with wallpaper that sets up an industrial tone to the entire place. Think NYC/Boston industrial vibe meets Washington D.C. Once you place your order (they sell freshly made juices, coffees and sandwiches), you have a variety of seating options. All seating options are comfortable and if you bring your laptop to tackle some work, there are plenty of outlets to use for power. Whether chairs, or lounge style seating options, Joe & The Juice has it. As part of their industrial ambience, they play music that is a bit louder than the noise level you would find at one of your typical Starbucks shop, but after having visited many times to hang out or do some work, the noise level is not something that would interfere with your ability to focus or carry out a conversation at a place like this. To be fair to some of the criticism by other Yelpers, yes, if you are looking for a quiet coffee shop, this is not it. Expect some noise level, as it is part of the vibe that gives Joe & The Juice a differentiator over other coffee shops. Service and price- Service is also an 11/10, and I give a special shout-out to Aaron King, Afiya Letford and Travis Little for going above and beyond in their customer service. Having visited this place over 14 times in the last few weeks, they have consistently delivered a superb experience. From their greetings upon entering the store, taking orders and delivering the coffee and juice, they all are great assets to the company, and have made me a recurring customer. Pricing-wise, they get a 10/10 considering the already high-priced market that Bethesda has become. While their juices and coffees are not cheap, they are certainly at a pricing point that is very competitive compared to other establishments. Also, they offered a card that you can purchase to pay in advance for coffee, juices or sandwiches in advance, at a flat rate. I bought one for my coffee purchases, and it brought down the overall pricing point of each of the 10 cups of coffee I bought in advance. Overall, this is a worthy opportunity to consider if you plan to frequently visit this place. Foods and Drinks- A 10/10 in the coffee and juice department. Their cappuccinos are delicious, and they offer a wide-variety of juices/smoothies. From oranges, ginger or broccoli and everything in between, Joe and The Juice has something from everyone. Their croissants are also worthy of trying them, buttery and fulfilling! Opportunities for improvement: 1. Keep up the great work! No suggestions for now, but will update my review in a few months to see if the overall service and experience is kept up. In conclusion, if you are looking for a new coffee/juice experience, Joe & The Juice is worth trying! Their coffees are delicious, the juices are varied and worthy of trying, as well as the overall industrial vibe offered by the shop is a welcomed addition to the Bethesda area.

Yelp
My new favorite place to work!! I fell in love with the vibe at Joe & the Juice in NYC couple months back, but I didn't expect to find one so close to home! It's more than just a place to get your juice fix, it's got sandwiches, coffee and most importantly... a fairly upbeat vibe that you can't really find in such an up-tight City LOL. Although the other Joe locations have a more fun and energetic vibe from all the employees, this one has potential, given that this location is still fairly new to the game. The only reason why I took off one star, is because of how noisy it can get- with the whirring noise of juice concoctions it can definitely get annoying. So, if you need to make that quick conference call, I suggest sitting in the far back corner or not to do your "work" here. However, if you're like me and can work anywhere - it's a great place to study, unwind, or work casually. The food here is great, the only downside to the food is how they serve it. They asked if I was going to eat here, and they offered it wrapped up with the top part of the sandwich showing, and served under a napkin. I was hoping that they would at least serve it under a plate, or even a plastic plate.. but I guess not? Nevertheless, the food was 5 stars!! I devoured the thin panini bread locked with heaps of avocado and chicken, spread with pesto...within seconds. My iced cup of joe was 4.5 stars, the coffee is GOOD. I will be back to try more of their items on the menu, and I will definitely be back for the vibe. Thank you!!

Yelp
The manager in this place Eric Hong is disgusting. He yelled at me and my friends 2 kids. First he charged us 1 price and then he upped our fees with the exact same drinks just 1/2 hr later. Then when I asked who is manager is he refused to give me the information. As I walked out he proceeded to yell at me and the kids. I stayed quiet for fear that he would attack me. Never have I been so bullied. Beware if this guy is on duty! How can an a business have an employee that so volatile.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out since there was a delivery promo- I got the mozzarella, avocado, and tomato flatbread, Stress Down Juice, and the mini Carrot Cake. The juice was the best part of my meal- it was fresh, well blended, and balanced. I would definitely get it again. The sandwich was okay, but could have been better. It was slightly over toasted on the outside, and some of the avocados on the inside were not fresh. The carrot cake disappointed me, it was kind of stale and the icing was hardened and crumbled. I'd still come here again, honestly. The juice and the sandwich were pretty fulfilling. I got a decent, healthy and mostly delicious lunch here at a reasonable price.
