Joe & The Juice - Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If your idea of drinking a cup of energy means liquified kale instead of caffeine, you’ll want to visit Joe & The Juice. You can get both coffee and smoothies here, and it’s located at the bottom of a giant office building, so if you work upstairs and just need a break, it’s a great place to go if you can’t stray far from your desk." - Aimee Rizzo

JOE & THE JUICE

Google
I never write a bad review, but this time I have to. I had to wait over 30 minutes just for 1 juice! 4 people were standing behind the cash register and absolutely doing nothing. When I asked about my order after 30 minutes, they made a face and rolled their eyes, no sympathy or apologies for delay whatsoever. The juice was way overpriced for what it was: water downed with slight hint of flavor. Save yourself and don't go in there.

Google
Extremely over priced!!!!!! Came here after seeing this place on TikTok or instagram, definitely wouldn’t recommend. Tried a juice and a coffee shake and 2 sandwiches. The drinks were $11+ which is diabolical for a 16oz. Sandwiches were super small flat bread and honestly not very good, bland ingredients. Over consumption on the pink packaging as well. They also decided to add another drink on which we neglected to notice it until after we got home and looked at the receipt pictured. I’m not concerned about this as the cashier seemed brand new and was friendly and trying. I will say, the lady with the dark hair and pony tail maybe mid 40s? Not sure if she was the manager but she seemed to be in an irritated mood when the cashier asked her how to ring up my coffee shake. She deflected and or ignore him I can’t completely recall but another employee came and showed him how. No smiles from her or any positive vibes going on from her. Not sure if she’s a manager or the owner or what. Overall pretty horrible experience. I would recommend going to any other cafe/deli around the area before this place.

Google
Jacklyn (I hope we got her name right) this girl right here deserves a raise. Her service is unmatched and not very common nowadays definitely would recommend coming here. Great atmosphere and great people all around!

Google
On my quest to try every açaí bowl in Seattle, GM guided me to Joe & the Juice, after a long day at work. The place is cute with interesting decor and lots (and different types) of seating. Unfortunately, some of the seating area and tables were dirty with stain spots and uncleaned table tops. As for the açaí bowl, it was good. Definitely not on Kitanda's level, but it satisfied my açaí bowl craving. My better half liked it as well. Regarding service, they did not smile, but acknowledged my existence. My order did not take too long to make. Overall rating; 8.1/10. Follow me on Instagram: richieeatsalot

I first discovered Joe & The Juice years ago in Copenhagen. They came to Helsinki, Finland while I was living there. I have always enjoyed their sandwiches, shakes and coffee drinks. When I learned there was this location in Seattle I was surprised. I come here often when I’m working in the area. I come because it reminds me of my travels in the Nordic countries and because I really like the spicy tuna sandwich.

Google
I love the atmosphere and the vibes. We ordered the smoothie and sandwiches. The smoothie was top notch.Things are a bit pricey compared to other coffeshops likewise Joe and The Juice is a UK based franchise. You pay for what you get. Overall 4/5

Google
I don’t like to write bad reviews but this was that bad I feel compelled to share. I also want to note that I have been to Joe & the Juice shops before so I know what to expect. This particular location is as others describe. The service is painstakingly slow. We ordered ONE iced latte and after 15 min of waiting we simply asked for a refund. There was one person in the cafe having their coffee and food (already a bad sign for 11am on a Saturday) and some pickup orders. 4 people working the line looking either confused or having no sense of urgency. Talking about whatever and not reading tickets or making coffees. $10 with tip for a latte and when we got a refund they only refunded the coffee and not the tip. When I asked about the discrepancy the employee seemed confused and I had to point out on the receipt that we tipped and should be getting all of the amount back. He said he couldn’t do that and offered a gift card instead. Not useful since I won’t be coming back to this location ever again. A far cry from the locations in Copenhagen where they take customer service seriously amongst the sea of other great coffee shops within a 100 foot radius. Save yourself the money, time, and grief and just don’t go here.

Google
I had a great experience!! It was my first time visiting and I asked the barista for some recommendations on green smoothies & juices. She described each one and was really helpful! I ended up ordering the Joe’s Green Mile which was delicious! I do think they’re a bit overpriced… $12+ for a smoothie is a lot, but you’re also paying for the trendy atmosphere & fresh ingredients I suppose. The store had a few people sitting down chatting, but most of the traffic was walk-in counter service since it’s in an Amazon building. They let me sit for a while and work on my computer with the free wifi which was nice! I’ll definitely be back and want to try some of the other menu items like the pink coffee, matcha, and sandwiches.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place after seeing the hype on TikTok, however it sadly did not live up to the hype. The entire area was dimly lit and had a very spacious seating area. The workers were also friendly, and the service was pretty quick. But it was quite empty and quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Tunacado Sandwich - 6/10 I really liked the packaging of the sandwich, it was innovative and mess-free. However, the sandwich itself wasn't anything too special. I enjoyed how thin the classic bread was, it added a nice crunch. The tuna was a bit bland though, and wish they had added some extra seasoning to it. Iron Man Juice - 6/10 It had pretty light flavors of apple, strawberry, and kiwi, but the portion did not justify the price. Again, nothing stood out to me while trying this juice. Overall, I think this is a pricey spot for sandwiches and drinks. I can see how this spot can be good for a quick lunch break for the people in the area. But the flavors in the sandwich and juice were lacking and need to be improved on.

Yelp
Very aesthetic vibe at Joe & the Juice. It was pretty quiet when I went it. Staff was very kind, efficient and accidentally made an extra juice shot and gave it to me. They made the experience extra special. The sandwich was ok. It was so hyped up and I had to try it. Not something I need again. I like that the bread was thin. The tuna was great too. Glad I got to try it. If I lived in the area I'd def go again to try other items.

Yelp
Did a quick pick up in the morning here. Got the VAVO (vegan avocado). May I say how cute the packaging is for a sandwich. It's very thoughtfully designed -- you can rip the middle to start eating. Close off the ends to carry the leftovers. It's all pink-- and no plastic. So five stars for that. The sandwich was mellow-- I would have preferred a bit more flavor. But it was hearty, well-toasted, and filling. Loved the thin bread-- so you minimize the carb intake.

Yelp
I always get the spicy tuna sandwich, it's one of the few things I crave at times. It's pleasantly spicy and well seasoned. The flat panini bread is a favorite. It's not as spongy as typical panini and always arrives perfectly toasted with just the right amount of chew, never soggy. I'm here for their pink packaging! I also got a ginger shot this time which added a nice immune boost. I usually get an avocado smoothie which pairs really well with the sandwich.
google avatar

Alisha M.

Yelp
The tunacado sandwich texture wise hits the spot but I can imagine the spicy sandwich would be better. It definitely needs a little flavor. The "Go Away Doc" juice is delicious. Overall, I'd order again as it makes for a decent, light and healthy lunch but it isn't as great as it's been made out to be.
google avatar

Maiyuri H.

Yelp
I've officially been converted. I've jumped on the bandwagon for Joe's, specifically for the Tunacado sandwich. It was crispy, filling, and everything I wanted in a sandwich. As per my friend's recommendation, add mozzarella to your sandwich; it's a game changer. If you're not a tuna fan, you will be after trying it. I'm curious about their other food items, so I will definitely be back. 5/5!

Yelp
Joe and the juice in Seattle is like a little heaven peace What is better than a nurturing, healthy and tasty sandwich with beautifully healthy pressed juice to go with? I'm a big fan of Joe and the juice from New York City Always go for the tunacado sandwich - it's top notch Service is very good and the place is nice and clean Highly recommended!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally tried the famous spicy tunacado and it did not disappoint! First of all, this location was so cute and aesthetically pleasing. It's right across from the Amazon Spheres in DT Seattle. I also had their prince of green juice and it was pretty good, I thought it was lacking more flavor, oddly. Their tuna salad is delicious and tastes fresh. It's not too mayo-y (I hate mayo) and the vegan pesto, & avocado add the perfect touch to the sandwich. Their bread is to die for. It's perfectly crispy and makes the tuna sandwich amazing. I wish they sold their bread! Their packing makes this a convenient on- the- go meal!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally got to try the viral tunacado sandwich! I liked the bread because it was nice and thin, but it was honestly a pretty small sandwich. I would come back to try a juice sometime later.

Yelp
A great spot for sandwiches and smoothies! Service was prompt and sandwiches were served very quickly. They have an indoor dining area so you can eat inside if you want, but it's also a great grab and go type restaurant :)
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
The tunacado hype is real! For a tuna sandwich, you can't get any better than this. I wasn't a huge fan of the crunch/hardness of the bread but the filling was great! I'd come back!
google avatar

Diana X.

Yelp
Their sandwiches are very distinctive - the tuna with added spice from jalepenos is my favorite. The bread is super thin and panini style. It's absolutely delicious and one of the more "healthy" fast casual options. Packaging is really cool too. But very pricey. Matcha drinks are fantastic too. Service is quick, especially if you order through the app.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
Health-centric chain with espresso drinks, matcha, smoothies, sandwiches, juices, and now acai bowls. 2 sandwiches and a smoothie totaled about $35. The sandwiches are made with this crunchy multigrain flatbread I am obsessed with! And the juices are made fresh. Wifi and a great place to cozy up and work near the spheres.

Lauren N.

Yelp
I love Joe and the juice but not impressed with this location in particular. They need to do a better job washing their produce. It's very telling and they need to be more consistent with what they are selling + do a better job of restocking. Again wash your produce please. It is very evident this is not being taken seriously as there is a film and chalky taste.
google avatar

john j.

Yelp
Meh! No offense but I'd rather just make my own smoothie at home. The smoothie was liquid and closer to room temp. Granola bowl was overloaded with seeds and the Edgardo bowl was pretty bland. The girl helping me out was pretty indifferent to the process and had very few words to say which made the experience that much more depressing.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Not as bad as people make it out to be, but I did come in the early morning when there was no crowd. The service was fine, everyone was polite and I had no complaints. I got the avocado smoothie and honestly, it hit the spot. It was really yummy and I finished the whole thing. I also got the banana bread and in my opinion, I didn't like it. It was a small piece and pretty expensive, so I probably wouldn't get it again. It was also very chewy and nutty, but not in a good way. But overall, it's a decent spot for drinks!
google avatar

Alissa M.

Yelp
The spicy tuna sandwich is AMAZING, their bread? A dream come true, 10/10 a carb lovers heaven. Plus the interior is so cute and their customer service was great as well, something we have not encountered much since visiting Seattle.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
customer service was great but they prioritize pick up orders over I store cafe which sucks. I got a lavender matcha and it was WAY too sweet. overpriced for quality and service honestly
google avatar

Hassan I.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Staff spends most of their time chit chatting instead of working. Food is horrible and overpriced, can't believe this place is still in business. $12 for some bread and a few pieces of cheese. Hilarious
google avatar

Rifa S.

Yelp
The tunacado and turkey sandwiches are amazing. The iced matcha wasn't sweet but the chai latte was good. Cafe is nice with plenty of seating and cute interior. Nice location within the city. The staff were super friendly and nice. 10/10 recommended.
google avatar

Amelia S.

Yelp
We ended up canceling our order after waiting for 20 minutes for our shakes. Woman at the register had an attitude. Not sure how they get by with super slow service. It's too bad because they had a nice assortment of items on their menu.
google avatar

Nicole Y.

Yelp
I love the sandwiches here. I can't say the same for the weird old timey table decor in an otherwise super modern space. But that's pretty insignificant. Did I mention how bomb the sandwich's are here! I love the Turkey but the tunacado is my favorite. It's so creamy and delicious!! I highly recommend.
google avatar

Tammy L.

Yelp
I had to try the viral Tunacado. What I will say is that it's decent tasting. I'm not sure I trust the quality of the tuna but I will say it was good. The tuna is described as a mousse and for me that is a little off putting, but given the popularity of it I went with it. This was a refreshing light sandwich, with tomato and avocado on it. It's seasoned well. The bread was think and crispy. I would have it again, but beware this is like an $11 sandwich.
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
Took 2 hours for 2 sandwiches and 3 drinks. Wasn't even that busy inside. Tried to get a refund for the last drink but they said they couldn't and said we could keep waiting.

Rachel D.

Yelp
It was alright. it's just way too expensive and there was small chunks of something in my smoothie (dates i think?) and that threw me off.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
I honestly started laughing at how ridiculous this was. It's been almost an hour and still have not gotten my sandwich. Made the order wrong twice and then forgot about it twice. I don't think anybody would believe me if I told them. I can't stop laughing. Food was good though

Maria G.

Yelp
At Joe and the juice for my friends birthday she ordered a sandwhich coffee and green juice her sandwich, and her coffee came out with a green drink next to it so thinking that was hers and took it. The man yelled to everyone in the store "who just took the green juice that was up here" we said we did because we thought it was part of our order and he started yelling at us after we apologized. We said it was an accident and than he told the costumers we stole it telling the that it's illegal. He didn't make her right green drink after yelling at us. Absolutely disgusted and I have never been treated like this EVER! He should be fired!

Yelp
Joe? Who's Joe? This place is nestled in between Amazon offices, so it took me some time to find but it was well worth it. I got two sandwiches and a banana bread. There is plenty of seating inside but I chose to sit outdoors. Tunavocado, 4/5: the tuna was a bit sour for my preference and it overpowered the avocado. Avocado usually goes really well with fish but it didn't synergize as well as I hoped it would. Unlike most sandwiches, the staff wrapped the sandwich nicely in a way that when you eat it won't explode out the bottom. The bread is the best part of the sandwich, it's crunchy, seasoned, and doesn't destroy the roof of your mouth. Chicken Club, 5/5: I really liked this sandwich as the chicken wasn't dry, paired very well with the creaminess of the avocado, tomato kept each bite juicy, and the bread is perfect. Like the other sandwich, it's wrapped in a way where if you pull the wrapping back gradually you should have a mess free sandwich. I recommend this one!!! Banana Bread, 3.5/5: the banana bread was ok, it was a little too sweet for my liking and didn't have that x-factor for banana bread. For instance, when I get banana bread I hope for it to taste like mom made it. My mom never made banana bread for me growing up but that's beside the point. It didn't taste homemade, it was a little too sweet, doughy, but I did like the nuts on top but thought it could've been baked in the banana bread. It was also slightly expensive for the small piece. Verdict: highly recommend coming here for the sandwiches!! I haven't tried the drinks but I'll definitely come back for the good service and walk around South Lake Union.
google avatar

Renee T.

Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to go to the Seattle location for the first time. I wanted to try the viral tunacado sandwich so I made time on my birthday to visit. The area was welcoming and the shop was empty, super clean. However, it was the day they ran out of bread unfortunately. I settled for an iced mocha. Guess I'll wait for my next opportunity. Until then I'll just keep watching everyone else enjoy.
google avatar

Devin V.

Yelp
Been to J&TJ in 5 countries, never had service like this. 40 minutes for a green mile juice. No greeting, no apology for the wait, and it wasn't even that busy. Unacceptable.

Sheena C.

Yelp
Came here with my daughter. The food is super yummy and also healthy. The help is very kind and funny definitely five stars!!!!

Yelp
Came here for travelling . Decided to do get a juice cleanse, good natural juices for good cleanse

Yelp
GET THE SANDWICHES. That's it. At first you may wonder what is so unique about their basic sandwich but it's the bread that's insane! My go to is the tiktok famous tunacado sandwich with pickled jalapeños. The bread is nothing like I've had before--it's a almost like a slightly chewy cracker with a crispy exterior. The Joe's club is also a great choice. For drinks, I've tried their matcha vanilla latte and the first time, it was made extremely well. The second time it was watered down with milk and was disappointing, so I'm not sure how the experience with another person will be with their matcha latte. I've also had their coffee shake which is pretty good but very sweet. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. It's like the texture of those Starbucks Frappuccino's in the glass bottle that you can get at the grocery story and the flavor wasn't too memorable. Lastly, prices are STEEP here so don't expect to be spending less than $10 here. The sandwiches itself are already up there in price. But I love the bread so much I'm willing to splurge on the sandwich! I would definitely recommend trying the tunacado.
google avatar

Yelp
I've seen this chain all over the California, but I finally decided to give this place a thorough review! Joe & The Juice is a great spot to get breakfast, and what I love about this place the most is how great you feel afterward! With most breakfast/brunch spots, I really do be feeling the food coma (not that it's an entirely bad thing).., but when you do need a good morning energy boost, Joe & the Juice hits the spot! Their sandwiches are so tasty -- their flatbread is a MUST TRY. Although their juices are a bit on the pricey side (~$10), it's made from fresh veggies, fruits, and herbs so you'll really be getting all of your essential vitamins and nutrients. Treat yourself out and give this place a go!
google avatar

Augusto T.

Yelp
Great food smoothies and best ginger shot. Convenient location and friendly staff who are always helpful

Wenqian C.

Yelp
The food quality is not consistent. But once in a while, I do crave for their tunacado sandwich, if they make it right, its very yummy!
google avatar

Olivia T.

Yelp
not that great, i could def make a better x10 tunacado myself. prob wont be back. and pretty disappointed.

Tyler V.

Yelp
I don't even need a job at this sad ass place but I'd voluntarily work a shift to show yall how to make cold sandwiches and juices in a timely manner.
google avatar

Alberto M.

Yelp
We ordered though Uber Eats, so we didn't really know what to expect. The services was prompt and our açaí bowls were well made. Expected a bit bigger for the price, but this location is near the city, so pricing is understandable. I've had better açaí bowls and have been to other places that allow more toppings. Good place to stop by if you're on the go though.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
This all natural banana acai bowl is interesting that it is all natural with oats, granola, nuts, raisins, and berries. However, being served in a cup and without any fresh fruit is definitely a miss here, as it seems like a breakfast I would make at home in 5 minutes when I am in a rush lol.

Dehystinee H.

Yelp
So I watched a tik tok and a girl had a sandwhich and it looked amazing after 2 weeks of waiting I finally tried it. I highly recommend so much I ate my sandwich there and bought another after I left Viral Tunacado SandwichJuice Cleanse

Yelp
Just tried Joe & The Juice for the first time and I'm so disappointed. I came for juice but they were out. So I ordered a smoothie... It took 25 minutes for me to receive my smoothie. For $13 smoothie it was only about 12 ounces, I pay less for a 24oz at Emerald City Smoothie. I received my smoothie in a coffee cup. It was not well blended and did not have a good taste. I do no recommend Joe & The Juice.
google avatar

Krishna Bhavithavya K.

Yelp
This more of an employee hangout location situated in the mist of downtown offices. I got the Power Shake which was good. But it was pricey. The staff were not welcoming too.

Yelp
I started going to Joe & The Juice many years ago when I traveled to and through Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and lived a short time in Finland. It's awesome that there is one in downtown Seattle and whenever I'm working in the area I will stop in to get a spicy tuna sandwich at least. You must be patient with waiting as they seem to be unfortunately short staffed as so many businesses are these days. It's worth the wait though!

Nidhi J.

Yelp
This place needs to make major changes in the way they run their business. Waiting 70 minutes in store for one Tunacado and a juice should not be acceptable, especially when I'm paying their premium prices. As a place that specializes in making juices one would think that they have got the flow down, but unfortunately the business has simply not met the mark. The employees, while nice enough, need to look back at the menu to remember how to make anything, end up burning the bread on accident, and are clearly overwhelmed, heavily slowing down the process and causing this disorganized mess. The two employees working mentioned that they are BOTH new, short staffed, and out of stock of many items, indicating that there is something wrong with the management of this place. It's honestly impressive that this business is still in operation with the amount of annoyed customers that are currently inside. Again, I would like to emphasize that the employees working are super nice and communicative about the situation with the customers. With their work ethic, I honestly hope they leave this job and find a workplace that can actually function instead of setting them up for failure. Not sure about everyone else here, but I had an inexcusable first experience and definitely will not be coming back.

Kayla B.

Yelp
The manager here is absolutely so rude! She has this look every time I come in as if she hates every standing minute she chooses to work here. If you don't like your job lady then leave. You make people feel uncomfortable, please take a shift in the back doing back stock. Your baristas are more welcoming and nicer than you are! ZERO STARS!
google avatar

June N.

Yelp
The charges of items are sky high but quality isnt. I ordered Green Gains shake which was suppose to be made of Spirulina, Cacao nibs, Avocado, Dates. They just made avocado shake with 5-6 cacao nibs toppings and handed over saying they are out of spirulina. ideally they shud have checked with me first if i wanted to change my order or cancel. i paid $20 for only avocado shake.

Yelp
Came here for a quick coffee after shopping at Amazon Go. The barista was very nice, but the coffee here was extremely expensive. $4.62 after-tax for a tiny cold brew (8oz?) with a splash of oatmilk, wow. Ok given their location (first floor of the new AWS building), their high price should've not come off as a surprise to me. The coffee was bland-ish. It tasted like coffee flavor ed water tbh...
