"I visited the reliable Old Town sports bar founded by former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann in 1975 after it reopened this week following major renovations; the 7,800-square-foot steakhouse at 1800 Diagonal Road rolled out a new menu that adds pan-seared salmon, beef short ribs, poke bowls, and a Southern fried chicken salad alongside mainstays like steaks and burgers. To keep football fans interested on weekends the first Bloody Mary is $9 and subsequent ones are $5, and brunch includes a hearty “Quarterback Scramble” that piles eggs, bacon, Italian sausage, and home fries onto one plate. Appetizers include “Reuben” fries and a Philly flatbread, there’s a new 26-ounce ribeye for two priced at $69, and the interior got a football-themed refresh with soft brown leather banquettes, turf-green walls, a collection of autographed jerseys and footballs, and a new island bar with 20 draft lines.
