The Best Restaurants for Over-the-Top Tomahawk Steaks | Eater Vegas

"Boutique hotel Ahern may be one of the new kids on the hotel block, but Joel’s Chophouse has the making of a timeless steakhouse, complete with an impressive tomahawk ribeye. This $249 44-ounce Westholme Australian wagyu tomahawk is basted in beef tallow and seared with garlic and herbs, before being served with a red wine bordelaise. Visit on Tomahawk Tuesdays to enjoy this steak for $100 off with a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling windows facing out onto the Strip." - Jennifer Smith

We love Joels Chophouse and try to get here whenever we can. The food is prepared perfectly and the service is always amazing! We love the rib caps as well as several other items on the menu. The sides are all great choices, and we have tried all of them. They also offer some great deals during the week and it's worth checking out the website for details! Also, it's a great chance to have dinner and then see one of the shows in Ahern!

As a local, finding this hidden gem was fantastic! The view is great, the service is top tier, and the food is absolutely amazing! We will absolutely be back again! Thank you for making our 10 year wedding anniversary so special 🫶🏼

I arrived early, and while waiting, I took a few pictures. It was my first time in the restaurant. The decor is beautiful and the views are great! Everyone was very nice! Especially my server Leonardo! He didn't miss a beat! The food was delicious. We had the new York strip, lobster mac & cheese, asparagus, buttery mash potatoes, bacon wrap scallops, wedge salad, crab cakes, chocolate decadence cake, beer and gin & sin! My steak was a little over done! But, it was very flavorful. The scallops the bacon around it wasn't crispy, but they were still good. Next time, I will make sure that chef Joel is there! Even though we couldn't stay, the band was really great!👍🏾👍🏾 The restaurant was very clean and well organized!👍🏾👍🏾 Thanks for great service Leonardo! Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
We had a very special dining experience at Joel’s Chophouse! WOW!!!! What exceptional quality food and everything we had was so tasty and well done, right down to a Japanese yuzu sauce. We can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I am so full but found myself ordering g dessert because it was all so exceptional that we couldn’t pass on the flourless chocolate decadence cake which also did not disappoint! WOW, thank you for proving us a very enjoyable evening and an outstanding dining experience! Our bartender Allan was also so sweet and accommodating!

Google
I tried this fine dining for the experience. I got vanilla old fashioned and the Wednesday salmon special. The salad was fresh and the fish is so tender you can actually taste the flavor. Perfectly cooked. 1st time trying the souffle and it was the most delicious dessert I eaten. The texture and creaminess. Excellent service. Lost 1 star due to lighting where we were seated near the dark as my dad shouldn’t see the menu. There was a bit of miscommunication during the event on Weds. great dinner and it worth going on special occasion.

Google
What a great evening and dining experience at Joel’s Chiphouse at the Ahern Hotel on west Sahara Avenue! We were greeted warmly and attended to very nicely and attentively. Had the most spectacular Australian Wagyu Tomahawk and other beef entrees! Top notch! We started with delicious small plates, including crabcakes and octopus. The beets and Spanish Caesar salads were very tasty! Mashed and roasted potatoes dishes, asparagus, and Mexican shrimp rounded out the main event. All magnificent! The wines we chose by the glass were just right in every sense! Truly epic were our desserts, from apple and pear tart to baked Alaska, cheesecake (not on menu, but we figured they’d have it!), and, a chocolate cake that is sinfully good! We were there for 3.5 hours! We didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend! Also, roomy and spacious restaurant, not like so many on the strip where you’re surrounded and up close to other guests. This is a gem… when you want a grownup dinner, go here! Make reservations!

Google
Best steak I have had in years. I ordered the Rib Cap 'Spinalis' and it was so tender and cooked just like I requested. The wine list was spot on for us. The must have sides- Confit Potatoes if you like creamy, crispy and buttery potatoes. And the all star- Creamed Spinach with Black Truffle Bechamel and a perfectly soft poached egg. My wife never takes pictures of food, but here is one!

Google
Okay, honest review. 1st I came for the social hour. It was limited to the bar outside of the resturant and rge bartender was confused about the workings of the social hour drink special. After that was worked out I decided to stay for tge 50% off steaks Friday special. I got the 22 oz Ribeye for half off. My steak turned out great! I also ordered the crab cakes and the oysre rockerfella they left much to be desired. However the sides of creamy spinach and mashes potatoes were excellent. The only downfall was the appetizers. Everything else was on point and my half off steak was excellent.

Yelp
My husband and I went for Tomahawk Tuesday last night, and it HAS to be the best deal on the Strip! For $99 we got a beautiful, hand carved 44oz ribeye with mashed potatoes ordered rare plus. We added the Foie Gras topper, and while it was great, I'd recommend leaving it off or adding it to a filet instead because the ribeye is already so nice and marbled. It was enough food for both of us, but we're big eaters and saw another table where 4 men split it with a couple of added side. The service was wonderful as well! Thanks Leandro!

Yelp
Finally went to try this place it had good reviews and This place is closed for good! Thanks Ahern.

Yelp
**This review is for the Tomahawk Tuesday only** Husband saw an ad on social media for the Tomahawk Tuesday weekly special, which is $99 for a 44oz wagyu tomahawk steak (regular price $199) which comes with chef's choice of side dish. We were able to make an online reservation the morning of. There was free self-parking in the Ahern Hotel's parking structure. Upon arriving at Joel's, our friendly hostess seated us by the windows where you have a decent view of the surrounding area. The restaurant was about 1/4 full on a Tuesday around 7pm, with most parties seated by the windows. We were then helped by our main server, a peppy guy who explained that Joel's is relatively new and still trying to get their name out there. In addition to our Tomahawk steak (ordered medium rare, came with side of mashed potatoes), we also ordered a shrimp cocktail ($17) and crab cakes ($16) to share as appetizers. The meal started with complimentary bread and butter. We had a second server who was super on top of filling our waters and who offered to bring a refill of bread and butter. For our appetizers, both were underwhelming. The shrimp cocktail came with 4 shrimp that were a bit overcooked. Then came the star of the show, the Tomahawk! Delicious and perfect size for 2 -- we simply couldn't finish it all so we took the small leftovers to go. I thought it was supposed to be carved tableside, but maybe they don't for the Tuesday special? Regardless it was flavorful as is and the medium rare was perfect. Would totally come back here specifically for the Tomahawk Tuesdays. They have pretty generous menu specials on other days of the week as well, be sure to check out their website ahead of time when planning your visit.

Yelp
Permanently closed. They are turning it into a dinner show. We came for tomahawk Tuesday and left with nothing. So sad.

Yelp
Our visit to Joel's Chophouse brought forward mixed feelings. The service itself was phenomenal, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is calming but the lighting is a bit too dim for my taste. The pork belly appetizer was good but I've definitely had better at Vietnamese shops I've gone to but overall it was good nice crunch on the outside & juicy texture inside. I was disappointed with the lobster bisque soup. I would call it a tomato bisque soup because that is what I tasted above everything. I've had the pleasure of trying a few lobster bisque soups & this did not live up to the standards of calling itself that and I was not particularly fond of the odd bowl it came served in. The hot seafood platter was very enjoyable & the taste of the sauce was superb. The only negative aspect of it is that the lobster was a tad bit overcooked and dry but the mussels & scallops were wonderful. Overall I'd say 3/5 since some items were not to our liking and for the price I expected better.

Yelp
This was overall a pretty good experience with some caveats and room for improvement. Reservations are suggested and can be easily made on their website. They do have live entertainment on Saturday evenings for a couple of hours. However, you have to pay for this - $15 per person when you make your reservation. I've dined at a lot of establishments that offer live entertainment, but I've never been asked to pay for it. Having said that, the entertainment was quite good. Great music and songs from Sinatra that made you think of old Vegas. The interior is very aesthetically pleasing but offers little privacy. It felt like eating in a ballroom. No private booths. The interior is also very white and bright which makes it feel less intimate. The service was honestly not terribly good. There was one server for the whole restaurant, and he did not seem very knowledgeable. Virtually any question we asked was met with a blank stare. For example, they were out of two of their speciality cocktails. We asked which other drinks were similar. Deer in the headlights look. The response was similar when we asked about various menu items. Service was also very slow and inattentive. Water glasses remained empty for long periods of time. Additionally, the menu we were presented on Saturday evening seemed different from their menu online and seemed to have fewer choices than what was posted on their website. Their menu features a variety of steaks and classic Italian dishes. Strangely their filet mignon is only offered as a 12 ounce bone in offering which is not what I was looking for. I much prefer a smaller boneless cut as most strip steakhouses offer. Complimentary assorted breads are served with the meal, and these were quite good. We had the shrimp cocktail to start. This was fairly good with plump and fresh shrimp and a tasty sauce. For an entree I had the chicken Marsala. This was a very delicious dish with a tasty and not overly sweet sauce. The pasta seemed rather tough and undercooked, however. For dessert I had the grand marnier soufflé. This was pleasant but honestly lacked any significant grand marnier flavor. Not bad but far from amazing. Overall this experience featured fairly tasty food but lackluster service with good entertainment (which you will be charged $15 per person for).

Yelp
Last night, my wife and I took our 8-year old grandson to Joel's for his birthday. We took him here, because he said he wanted steak. When we arrived, we were promptly seated along with the food menu. I was looking for the wine menu, but alas, nothing. We waited a while before being acknowledged by our server (although his assistant poured water almost immediately). I finally received the wine menu, and another person came to the table. I believe she was the manager, and her name was Kyra. She was very nice, and I ordered a glass of wine for myself and my wife. We began with the crab cakes, and they were outstanding. For the main course, our grandson ordered the rib cap (8oz), while my wife and I shared the 12 oz. The sides we ordered were creamed spinach and confit potatoes. Every bite of our steak produced a delicious sensation f flavor, and our grandson was loving his steak. By this time, our server, Leo, had returned to us, and in all fairness, he was flying solo on a very large party. They brought a cute little dessert for our grandson. As for the restaurant itself, it is just beautiful. The best part of this delicious meal is that on Fridays, their steaks are 50% off! If you're a steak lover, head to Joel's Chophouse, and order them Rib Cap. I guarantee it will just melt in your mouth.

Yelp
Went here on Thursday with my husband for 35% off locals night! Beautiful decor and atmosphere, lovely velour seats, and great views of the Strip from the floor to ceiling windows. Excellent service from the mostly 20s staff who were professional, courteous and friendly, they clearly love their jobs! The food was delicious, although the steak was a bit fatty and the buttery mashed potatoes were not buttery. This is definitely an excellent place for date night or to impress visiting family and friends, but only if you have discounts because it's pricey. You can also enjoy a great comedy show next-door, which is what we did!

Yelp
Fantastic steakhouse! We ended up staying at the Ahern and decided to try the dining and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is modern and spacious. The staff were welcoming and friendly yet upscale professional. And their dry aged steak was one of the best I've ever had! They have weekly local deals while they are establishing their restaurant and I highly recommend!

Yelp
Well, if it was up to my buddy, this would be a 1 star review. Quality/Quantity - The complimentary bread was underwhelming, see picture. At minimum, warm it up and serve it with some soft salted butter. Well actually, the whipped butter was pretty good. It was light and fluffy. Some sprinkled sea salt might have taken it to the next level. Pan Roast Spanish Octopus - A little chewier than I preferred. I enjoy a crispy crunch for the outer skin and a tender interior. This did not have the crispy outside. Bone in Filet Mignon - Healthier choice of the two (bone in ribeye). If you are following, you KNOW I almost always get the ribeye. And guess what, I should have gotten the ribeye... The filet was not bad, but again, I know I would have enjoyed the ribeye so much more. The steak was also cooked more medium than I would have preferred; it should have been medium rare. Mushroom Risotto Entree - This was just okay. What made it better was adding the roasted oyster side dish to it. Roasted Oyster Mushrooms - Good side dish. Slight kick. This was actually the best part of the meal. Well, the wine was good also. Dessert - Trio Fruit Sorbet; I rarely get dessert and again, I should not have this time either. The champagne in the sorbet must be of a lower budget. I had a hard time drinking it. Goldeneye Pinot Noir - Complimented our meal well. Atmosphere - Beautiful build out. The place is new, modern, hip, etc. Looks as if they spent quite a bit of $$ here. This location is a few minutes away from the strip, but an easy rideshare away. Strict dress code, see pictures. The only restaurant on this trip that I dressed up for. DJ - The music was a little too loud for this type of atmosphere. I said hi to the DJ as I walked in but he ignored me. Service - Wine tasting - Wednesdays, which was today. The majority of the team was focused on this. DJ, executive chef, etc. So the rest of the customers (6 tables) were ignored. We had one waiter and one busboy. At the end, when my buddy was SO ready to leave, we could NOT flag one person to get our check. He wanted me to NOT leave a tip. I of course still left one. Price - $300 + more generous tip than deserved. Owner Comment - Congrats on your opening this year. I see that you have invested so much $$ at this location and the service and quality should reflect the atmosphere. You also have some really good daily incentives to come back. Let me think about it.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Ahern Luxury Botique Hotel. Joel's Chophouse was highly recommended and did not disappoint. We started with the pork belly and spare rib appetizers and enjoyed the 44 oz Australian waygu tomahawk and mushroom risotto with a side of mash potatoes. The bread basket and compound butter nearly stole the whole show. The service was impeccable and on point. And can I just say, the Playlist for the ambient music during dinner kept the conversation going through the whole experience. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Yelp
I've been to many steakhouses in Vegas and other places and I can confirm that what I had at Joel's Chophouse last night was one of the best steak dinners I've ever had. The steaks we ordered were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and so were the delicious sides! The complimentary bread was also very soft and enjoyable to eat. The cocktails were excellent! Joel's Chophouse is beautifully decorated and a great place for date nights or special dinners with family, friends, and/or significant others. It's nice and cozy inside and you're treated to a bit of a view of the strip. Good service! Joel's Chophouse definitely delivered!

Yelp
We decided to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary at this fabalous resturant and again we were so impressed with the decor, staff, price and the quality of the drinks and food. This resturant and staff out does itself everytime we visit, it is a hidden Las Vegas gem. The have great daily specials (e.g. 50% off Fridays, Tomahawk Tuesdays, etc. - see my photo or check their website). The food is simply delicious here. We had split the wedge salad, larger hot seafood platter, and buttery mash which was more than enough for us both. The resturant split the salad for us which was nice and their complimenty bread is great. The hot seafood platter was a great selection of lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels (Saturday night was 50% off selected seafood dishes that included this hot platter). The buttery mash potatoes were devine and probably the best we have had. And we love the wedge salad and the kitchen even split it for us in the kitchen. We love how beautiful amd romatic the inside of this resturant, and the staff is so friendly and attentive (our primary server Haylie, who we have had before, was the best). It was also nice that they knew through our reservations it was our anniversary and our accknowleged it and at the end of dinner brought a nice little anniversary dessert (see my photos). The Blushing Berry Crush drink my wife was also great. Overall, we had a wonderful and amazing evening and definately will be returning in the future. After dinner we visited Vita Bella also in the Ahern and enjoyed some great karaoke entertaiment.

Yelp
Celebrated my love's birthday this evening at Joel's Chophouse. Ambiance is upscale, opulent, fine dining in this extraordinary steakhouse! Started with Chandler serving us decadent dinner rolls with some sort of honey almond (?) magical butter - good God you'll want to bathe in that butter - it's DELICIOUS. Our dinner included Shrimp Cocktail, Cesar Salad with anchovies (just like he likes it!), 30 Day Aged Ribeye with Bearnaise Sauce and Buttery Mashed Potatoes. The Ribeye was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection when ordered medium. Chandler was happy to refill our bread basket with that magical butter whenever we wanted but Antoinette knew how to pace us just enough to save room to enjoy our Ribeye entree. Can we talk about the BUTTERY MASHED POTATOES? There has to be eight sticks of butter in each serving (don't you dare modify that recipe). It was like mashed potatoes dancing inside me with each bite! WOW! Antoinette is such a fine dining expert and Chandler was delightful! Thank you for a memorable dining experience! We will be back again someday!

Yelp
My visit resulted was on a Tuesday evening as we were next door at the grand opening of the new Vita Bella wine bar next door. We checked in with the hostess bar to see if they had availability for a party of 3. The restaurant was at 1/3 capacity. She asked if our whole party was here and we told her the last member was finishing his drink next door. We waited at the bar and when our party was present we informed the hostess. Another hostess (her supervisor?) informed us that she inputted our name in her system and it will now be a 15 minute wait? We were puzzled but were fine hanging at the bar. We had 4 other friends coming from Vita Bella who wanted to get one more drink with us before we had dinner. The hostess bar told my 4 friends that the bar was at capacity? All 7 of us were puzzled. They allowed them to sit with us before we had dinner and order cocktails. Eventually we made it to our table while our other 4 friends stayed at the bar and ordered more cocktails. Below is what I ate that evening. Lobster Bisque Creamed Spinach Roasted Oyster Mushrooms New Zealand Rack of Lamb The food was tasty and the kitchen did well. I enjoy the ambiance of the open dining area with a great view of the Strip. The bar is gorgeous looking and well stocked. This restaurant has so much potential. If the service improves I'd bet this restaurant would have a lot of repeat business. The restaurant choices in Vegas is vast and I'm hoping Joel's Chophouse pulls a 180 and reaches it's full potential. We'll try one more time in the future. Cheers!

Yelp
Yes, it's true I love the view. Joel's is super cool chill vibes, breathable and comfy dining chairs. I loved my beet salad but the steaks are the best. Dessert in the desert. ;)

Yelp
Came on a Friday for the 50% off steak deal and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Our experience was elevated by the staff, specifically Sophia and Eileen. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Happened upon this wonderful spot thanks to the Sommelier Series led by charismatic Matthew-Lorèn Lindsey. The mushroom risotto was Devine! Great service, inside the lovely Ahern boutique hotel. Call or check eventbrite for the weekly series. It is a great opportunity for marketing, mingling and wine tasting.

Yelp
A couple of girlfriends met me for a fabulous dinner at this restaurant. Tuesday night is $100 off their AMAZING 44 oz Australian wagyu tomahawk steak. We decided to try this selection and the 3 of us ladies indulged together. It was beautifully presented and was such a large portion that we actually had left overs to take home. The dish is accompanied by whipped potatoes which were delicious by very heavy. Suffice it to say we did not devour this side dish. Our waiter Leo was amazing as well. Took care of all our beverage needs even though one of our ladies changed her mind on her drink selection several times !! He handled it with grace. We also shared a chopped salad which was also outstanding and short rib arancini which was to die for !!! The complimentary bread and honey chili butter was so delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a wonderful view of the strip from every table (even though this is off the strip. Great place for a formal gathering if you're interested !!

Yelp
Never again! I took my husband for his birthday. We both ordered the steak and shrimp special. My husband's was $10 more because he had a larger steak. After we order our waiter whips some gadget out of his pocket and says this my real job. Would you like to buy one for $20? No thanks. The check comes and the waiter charged us for 2 of the higher priced steaks. I asked him to fix it, but of course he had to have his manager "Joel" do it. He comes back and says instead of changing the price Joel just removed a dessert. Then I look at the bill and Joel added a 20% gratuity to the check I guess hoping that I would be stupid since I was treating my husband and add more tip. Ridiculous! Crooks! Never again!

Yelp
This was a very unique experience. I think what made it the most memorable was the live performance by very experienced musicians and singers. It was what you would imagine old Vegas would have been like with interacting with the crowd, music by very talented musicians, and high energy from the unique personality of the band leader. It was a true treasure and I am glad I had the opportunity to experience it since it does seem like a dying art. The food was all solid as well. The service was overall efficient but nothing too above and beyond. Overall it is a very unique experience of a fun night out.
google avatar

Marci K.

Yelp
It was ok. But not sure we'd go back. Nice view but not a warm cozy restaurant. Both literally and figuratively. I had to wear my coat for the entire meal. The space was half empty at 7pm on a Friday night. And just a cold sterile decor. The salad was not served on a chilled plate. That's a basic requirement of any good restaurant. IMO. Had to ask for ground pepper. The steak was cut at an angle (thicker on one end). But good flavor. My pasta was good. Not great. Just good. The wine was a healthy pour. The service was good overall. She was attentive and friendly. The cappuccino machine was broken. We were surprised they didn't offer to just get one at the coffee place across the corridor. We try a new restaurant every Friday. Glad we tried this one. But definitely not our favorite.

Lori B.

Yelp
My husband and I are locals here in Las Vegas, we love that Joel's has so many deals for locals. The atmosphere and food is amazing and the service is great too! Great food, good prices and well worth visiting more than once!!

Michael I.

Yelp
Dinner was amazing! The tomahawk came out perfect as a rare! The service was immaculate! And the sound track for the dining room was on point! This is the perfect venue for an intimate dinner or a business dinner.

Yelp
Literally the BEST steak and dessert we've had at a restaurant!! We had the dry-aged ribeye, bone-in filet mignon, creamed spinach, buttery mashed potatoes, and the tableside chocolate mousse for two for dessert. The environment was classy but not stuffy. Our waiter was amazing also. Hands down a great experience from the time we sat down until the time we left. Highly recommend Joel's Chophouse if you are in Vegas!

P T.

Yelp
We LOVE Joel's Chophouse! The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Chef Joel is so talented. We've been here for dinner several times, and never had a single disappointing dish.

Yelp
One of the best steaks I had in recent memory. I see their daily specials regularly advertised on social media, so I made it a point to try their "Cowboy Thursdays" special which is a multi-course ribeye dinner. The meal comes with lobster bisque, ribeye with confit potatoes, and a chocolate dessert. The star of the show is definitely the steak with the bisque at a close second. My steak was cooked perfectly at my requested medium rare, good crust, and well seasoned. The steak came with a mushroom truffle sauce but I asked for it on the side. I'm glad I did since the flavor of the steak was able to stand out. The lobster bisque had a ridiculous amount of lobster in it; I think I ate a piece of lobster in almost every spoonful. It was probably one of the best lobster bisque I've had. I wasn't feeling the potatoes. They weren't bad tasting, but they were just salt roasted fingerling potatoes. Dipping them into the mushroom sauce helped with flavor. I'm not the biggest chocolate fan and they wouldn't allow me to swap the chocolate dessert for something else. It was a big piece of dense fudge; not bad, but just not my thing. The staff made sure I was enjoying myself multiple times through out my meal. Plates were cleared without having to ask and my water was always topped off. I will definitely return for this special. Not only do I think it's a excellent value but it was one of the best off-strip steak dinners I've had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others; a true hidden gem.

Yelp
Ambiance: Nice and romantic setting, if you can get a window seating you can see the strip. Unfortunately next to the window settings are for 2 people. Service: Attentive but lacking topping water off, they use solid cups which the server or back server can not notice if the glass is full or empty. Above and beyond: We ordered 2 sets of Lobster they advertised 2.5 pounds but the lobster seems smaller. Next time I must bring the scale lol. I also asked if we could substitute one fried for mashed potato on one dish. In my mind fries got cold easily since we have 2 sets, I wish to try different things, but they stayed firm on "no" at the end of my meal I had so many French fries left over. Dishes: My husband and I ordered Monster Lobster (Friday special)and a Salmon dish for my mother. Salmon came with burnt skin and we ordered med well. Lobster dishes were served with Tapatio sauce and warm butter which later got cold. I wish it was drawn butter with warmer. Management: I had mentioned my concern to my server. During the dining experience never once manager come by to touch a table. Tips: My reviews are strictly on Lobster Friday. My date night was ruined but I give them the benefit of the doubt for any other special days and their food. Give it a try and I am looking forward to reading your reviews!

Yelp
Celebrated our Anniversary at this fairly new restaurant at the Ahern Hotel on Sahara. We were there on Tomahawk Tuesday so that's what we got. It was big enough to feed a small village! We only added the wedge salad which was good so the overall value was fantastic. Being that it was a Tuesday there was hardly anyone so it was quiet but picked up later in the evening. Therefore the service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended for taking a casual date without being too fancy but still get great food and service.

Yelp
Popped in for their Social Hour 4-6pm Half off all craft cocktails and wine by the glass. Being a mixologist, I truly appreciate their cocktail menu and their wines by the glass is upper class too. Great addition to this city. Exactly what we need and deserve here! I'll be back to dine inside Joel's very soon. The whole menu looks amazing, plus beautiful ambiance and view!

Kimberly T.

Yelp
We had such a great meal here. We were a party of five. We went on Friday to take advantage of the 50% off steaks. The group had various items such as rib cap, lobster mac & cheese, asparagus, new potatoes, scallops, lobster and wedge salad and everyone was very, very happy. Drinks were unique and tasty and the service was attentive and accurate. The bonus was the small classic car show across the street. Can't wait to get back here!

Yelp
Been wanting to try the steakhouse at the Ahern Hotel! My wife and I made a reservation for our Anniversary at Joels Chophouse and it did not disappoint. We both had the Rib Cap Steak, Med Rare, and Medium; both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing with the whipped béarnaise sauce! Melt in your mouth tender. For sides we had grilled asparagus and the buttery mash - both delicious. We are both self admitted food snobs to some mild extent and heave eaten a lot of amazing foods but what really stole the show for me was the incredible appetizer "Nueske's Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops". One the best things I have ever put in my mouth, ever - full stop. Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. This is a big hidden gem. Make your reservation today.

Yelp
Joel's Chophouse has a nice view and the weekend has a Live band perform. I love the deco and the beautiful royal blue color tufted velvet dining chairs. The wine collection wall is a spot that made me stop and look into it. Joel chose a very nice flatware set by Cuzon from France. We ordered a Tomahawk, lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque, scallops, creamy spinach, crab cakes, Caesar salad with prosciutto,, and mashed potatoes. Pair with a bottle of French red. The Tomahawk cooked perfectly, it is tasty and juicy. The lobster bisque is not only has a great presentation, the lobster chunk is huge and fresh, but the taste is wish it could be a little more rich. The creamy spinach (with poach egg) and mashed potato is smooth like silk. Other food is in high quality. We love the food and we had a wonderful time with our waitress, Ms Annette (I think that is her name). If you're in Vegas, Joel's Chophouse could be your next choice.

Yelp
I hate to do this but I have no choice especially since my husband was up all night with food poisoning. First off the place is very nice however it's located in the Ahern hotel on Sahara. They have only been open for a month. The service is terrible everyone seems to just be running around confused. I had to ask for the bread cause they forgot to bring us some. The bread is 3 okay round biscuits & sliced bread? I wish I would have taken a pic! Sliced bread at a high end restaurant? Never once were we asked if we need anything or extra water. Food: we ordered the Tomahawk cause that's their special on Tuesdays. We ordered it medium rare along with some mushrooms. The tomahawk came out medium well, tasteless literally not even salt nothing. Worst steak of our life & it was cold! The mushrooms came in a horrible carrot Gerber baby carrot sauce. Then our waitress asked if we wanted a sauce. I thought the sauce was complimentary however found out it wasn't it was $16!!!! The entire time we were there the head chef was going to the tables saying "this is my restaurant" never came to our table. Then another older gentleman approached us saying the same thing! I don't know who owns this restaurant but what they should have been in the kitchen or talking to the staff! Overall horrible over priced food, slow service but hey you'll definitely meet who owns the restaurant! (Check out my reviews we go to lots of steakhouses save your time & money on this one)

Yelp
Food was awesome. Ambience was classy and the live performer was amazing. This restaurant on Saturdays and Sundays has everything you would want from Las Vegas dining experience. To be clear, it's open Tuesday through Sunday, but on Saturdays and Sundays they have a live performer who is out of this world when it comes to energy, fun, and just overall entertainment experience. Service is everything you would expect from a five star restaurant. The meal is top notch. The entertainment is just a fun and amazing night in Vegas. Make this one of your stops soon!

Yelp
Food was amazing, the service was good but absolutely nothing was said about the menu, server was just an order taker

Yelp
Wow wow wow! From the intimate setting to exquisite tasting food, not to mention the attention we felt. If you don't check this spot out, you're missing out on the Vegas experience!

Yelp
Dinner was very disappointing. For a nearly empty restaurant at 7pm on Friday, it took over 90 minutes to get entrees. The hotel itself was weirdly empty. Service was disjointed and novice, with some drinks taking over 30min to arrive after the rest of the party. The steak was not cooked to requested doneness; the ordered sides came out significantly after the mains. Overall a very novice presentation and I would not recommend. The recent yelp reviews were inaccurate.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! We had the wagyu tomahawk and Leo as our waiter. Both were spectacular. The steak you can cut with your fork. So tender and delicious. The tomahawk was $100 off on Tuesday's. You can't find a better bargain in Vegas. Also, 4-6 was happy hour so our champagne was $8 per glass! It was a high end champagne and he opened the bottle in front of us. Excellent. The steak came with mash potatoes as the side which were creamy and delicious. This is a hidden gem in Vegas. It's not on the strip but it still has amazing views and the ambiance is fantastic. Don't miss this place!

Yelp
We enjoyed our third dinner at Joel's and it was top rate! The view of the strip can't be beat. We started with fantastic scallops wrapped in Nuskie bacon. The sauce reduction was smoky and not too sweet. We followed those with an excellent baby beet salad. For entrees we had the New York steak and a generously sized appetizer of rice balls with shredded beef short ribs. Halley is a terrific server ... we look forward to returning often@

Yelp
Oh my god, where do I begin! This place is the best steak/chophouse I have ever been too! Thank you Jezhael for accommodating a business party of 14 same day! I stumbled upon it via open table and I am so glad that I did. What a hidden GEM. Chef Joel the owner came out and introduced himself and made it very welcoming. The atmosphere was 20/10! More on the quieter side but it was so nice and enjoyable to have conversations. All the servers were amazing, so kind, and so attentive. We had a variety of appetizers, seafood, and steaks. Everything was extremely delicious!!! Highly recommend this place. If you get a chance to go to this chop house, do not second guess it!! I will definitely be back for business dinners when in town.

Yelp
My visit to Joel's Chophouse last night was, to put it in one word, wonderful. This charming steakhouse nestled in the boutique Ahern Hotel is charming as you walk in. You immediately notice the larger tables dominate the center and the outer edge, by the windows, is all 2 toppers. Since we had a reservation, we were immediately sat at our window table with a view of the strip. We were given glasses of water and shortly after that a selection of rolls and breads with a whipped herb butter on the side. Our server came by and we each ordered the same thing: a vanilla old fashioned, smoked and for the dinner the Wednesday special of Surf & Turf which was a lobster tail and filet including a starter of a house salad. The drink was deliciously dangerous and the smoke added to the aroma. The salad was pretty typical of a Vegas Steakhouse with a house vinaigrette and shaved Parmesan on top. I typically take a few bites, but I finished the whole thing. Our Surf and Turf was excellent. The filet was a perfect medium rare and tender with a perfect sear, topped with a red wine bordelaise. The lobster tail had a saffron and butter sauce finish which I absolutely loved. My girlfriend and I shared the dessert of Chocolate Decadence Cake with Vanilla ice cream. The cake was thick and dark and so wonderful. The ice cream was cold ... not really much else to say about vanilla ice cream. The bill showed the discount for the Wednesday special and it took off $200 final total was mid 200s and for steakhouses in Vegas it was easily worth the pre-discount price. Now I need to return on a Tuesday for their Tomahawk special.

Yelp
We went for Lobster Friday as a group of 8 and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The decor is beautiful, spacious, with a great view of the strip from the wall of windows. Tables set nicely apart so you don't feel like you're crowded next to the other diners. We all decided to do Lobster Tails instead, they were delicious! Paired with Spanish Caesar salads (that were really tasty) and asparagus that was perfectly served! Desserts were delicious too, we tried them all and really liked the Pear Almond Tart and Baked Alaska! Our server, Leo, was wonderful, professional, friendly and very attentive. Already planning our return to this yummy and classy location!

Yelp
Joel's is more of an experience than a restaurant. We were greeted by Mike Leonetti, who was over-the-top welcoming and helpful. I thought he was the manager; I didn't realize he was the entertainment. He and his super talented swing band was worth the visit alone. When you throw in the excellent Bone-In Prime Short Rib Confit and Ora King Salmon, it is truly one of the best values in Vegas. Don't miss Joel's Chophouse and the treasure of Las Vegas, Mike Leonetti and the Magnificent 4.

Yelp
What an amazing night enjoying the Sommelier series with Matthew-Loren. And chef Joel's food was delicious.
