Wish I could give it more stars! 🌟 The food is delicious, freshly cooked to order, and served piping hot. It’s the best, most flavorful shrimp And grits we’ve had anywhere! My husband has to get this every time we are in town. My son says it’s his favorite chicken and waffles of anywhere! He gets it every time. I’ve tried different things and none disappoints. Delicious beignets served three different ways - powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or glazed! The glazed is a game changer! The service is impeccable and friendly - you will be treated like family. Love ❤️ from Texas!

Boy oh boy, where do I even begin?... Me and 3 other gentlemen walked in on a lone Thursday afternoon after an intensive learning session at school. Upon walking in, the clerk, Ashton, gave a positive first impression. Patient, calm, and most of all, caring. His attitude really set the tone for the entire dining session, but the story doesn't end here. The cook in the back decided today was another day to proceed as usual, and suddenly, I found myself enjoying one of the tastiest po-boys of my life. Perfectly soft bread, tender shrimp, and just the perfect attitude. I enjoyed every second spent inside of this Joes Cafe. Zero regrets, and I'm beyond grateful to have stopped here at this time.

Shrimp and grits were 🔥🔥🔥 my favorite was the apple fritter. I was so excited I forgot to take a picture! The apple fritter was fresh and delicious! It was out of this world 🌎 😘

Google
AMAZING! My 3rd time here and I’ve had the beignets, gumbo, red beans and rice & today shrimp and grits. Portion size and value for the price are spot on! Food takes a lil min(nothing unreasonable) but you get it fresh. Aint no frozen meals here. Whoever y’all got in the kitchen is TOP TIER. Customer service is also great. Y’all deserve all the green lights!

Google
Has a little bit of everything.. all day breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This place used to be my all the time go to place for breakfast. I’ve stopped going as much and this decision was confirmed on my most recent visit. Food safety is not a high priority as you see workers coming out of the bathroom sometimes with their work aprons on and passing up handwashing sink after sink to wash their hands. I would assume that it’s optional since it doesn’t appear that they do it in the bathroom and even if they do they should still wash up again. Not sure I’ll be back after seeing the same old same.

Google
Teci was super nice. The food was great this time, no complaints. The shrimps and grits were amazing The fish was seasoned well The sweet potato fries were great The fried Okra was fried just right Fries could have used seasoning The Arnold Palmer has to be my favorite so far.

Google
06FEB24 ~ The King Cake was good, similar in taste & quality to most of the other major King Cake providers. Because of the manner in which it was packaged about 40% of the icing stuck to the plastic. The price was, again, right in line with the major King Cake suppliers. The service was weak. The young woman behind the counter did her job but in facial expressions, voice, & mannerisms did nothing to tell me she liked her job & was definitely not happy about doing her job.

Google
EXCELLENT food! We got breakfast here and it was great! The food is fresh and flavorful. The staff is friendly as well, our server Hailey was very nice. Greetings from Houston!

Yelp
This place is under staffed. One cook, one server. Order was supposed to be ready in 20mins Took over an hour. Staff is unhappy, but it's definitely understandable
google avatar

Yelp
This place has very good glazed beignets. I honestly don't come here for anything else but them. I may try some of their homestyle meals because it looks good on the menu board but the glazed beignets is my go to for sweets cravings. Service has always been very friendly and inviting. I would definitely recommend them for your sweet tooth needs.

Yelp
SLOWWWWWWW you will wait over an hour for eggs and bacon and they will still get your order wrong and overcooked!! I have never seen more of sh*t show in my life!! If you say anything about it you will be blamed for the error. You have been warned!

Erin P.

Yelp
Don't bother going to this location. This is the second time we were told it would be an hour to order breakfast through the drive thru. This is unacceptable for an established break place.

Maricruz C.

Yelp
Over priced ! $1.49 for a chocolate donut Service was great through drive thru. Pay cash if you can

Yelp
I walked into Joe's today, because it is my daughter's favorite place. And when I walked in, I was greeted with a huge apology. Which means a lot. The employee was super frustrated that day because my orders weren't ready which is completely understandable.
google avatar

Andria S.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time getting an inedible bacon, egg & cheese croissant. I've ordered this meal so many times in the past with NO problem. It's like they drench the croissant in grease. I took the egg & bacon off and will have to just eat that with some toast because there's no way I can eat that greasy croissant.
google avatar

Alania D.

Yelp
They did not tell me I had to wait a whole hour just to get some beignets and the girl is just standing there doing nothing. Also she is not helping out and actually doing stuff all she clearly knows how to do is do nothing. Their also very under staffed so thats also part of the issue. Then when you confront them about it they will pay dumb.

Yelp
If you know me, you know how much I love donuts. I'm very picky and take the art of frying dough very seriously lol. But Joe's has won a special place in my heart and breakfast lineup. The donuts are great, like be five-ten mins late to work great. I usually stick with original glaze but my son and family speak highly of the other flavors; powered jelly, strawberry with sprinkles, chocolate covered, etc. The younger staff is usually more friendly in the afternoon, where the atmosphere is usually more lax. But no matter the time of day, the line moves extremely slow (even if you're the only car or person waiting), which can be a little annoying. But the donuts are great and the breakfast sandwiches are yummy and affordable.

Peter M.

Yelp
Disgusting environment, including the clogged toilet. Food was meh, it was clear I had arrived to late in the night to receive proper service. Go somewhere else. Zydecos, Salvos, or McDonalds for that matter...
google avatar

J Essence B.

Yelp
The food is good but the health department needs to pay the a visit. The server coughed three times and never considered washing her hands. No gloves no washing of hands. Where is the health department?? Where is the retraining? No one wants to be Covid sick !!! The food is good. Minus the germs

Yelp
Absolutely sweetest employees EVER! The beignets were made to order so they were sooo fresh. Crunchy outside and melt in your mouth inside. They are a bit on the smaller side, but they offered glazed AND powdered which I thought was so unique! I also got a med mocha which was delicious. Definitely recommend going here! The place is so cute and small and even has a drive thru (so convenient!) In total I spent $13 for 8 beignets and a medium coffee.

Yelp
Needs to update hours. Went for a late night snack at 11pm and was told that they closed at 10pm.

Yelp
Great cafe! All the things they need to excel on -- coffee, breakfast, and donuts; they do it right! The club sandwich looks delicious. Can't wait to try that next.

Yelp
We came the other day and it was AWKWARD AF in there. We opened the door and EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE, turned and looked at us with a scowl!! It was like we were walking into a place we didn't belong. The doughnuts were good however. We tired again today and went to the drive thru... and automated message said "welcome to joes cafe! Someone will be with you in a moment!" We waited 5-8 mins and no one said a work to us so we left. I guess they don't need the business? ‍
google avatar

IKendy S.

Yelp
Great breakfast joint! The workers are always serving comfort, which makes the ordering experience a breeze. The restaurant also has inside dining for customers that want to enjoy their atmosphere.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
A cafe type joint that I think is a nice spot to grab a bite that's not fast food. Gives me a Waffle House type vibe, but more upscale. Lolol. I ordered the Western Omelet and added cheese grits. The omelet was nothing special, as the eggs were not fluffy, in which that is what I like. The grits were lumpy, and the food came out lukewarm. Decent lil spot if you want to sit down and get food that's not fast food but reasonably priced.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Best doughnuts in New Orleans, well maybe tied w Gerald's but they are damn good! Omletttes here are also the bomb. And the burger is a hidden gem, with the bun made in house. My favorite coffee shop on the Wank fosho.

Mickey ..

Yelp
ZERO STARS! I just walked out the Terry Pkwy location where I was going for breakfast. I sat at the counter near the drive through window where the employee saw me sit but didn't utter a sound. (You work the drive through, I get it so you get a pass) i noticed they were a little busy with two waiters so I was patient until both waitresses walked by, looked at me, saw I didn't have a menu and STILL neither said a WORD...at least say I'll be with you shortly, or acknowledge my presence in so way, hell, be a MUTE but at least give me a menu! NEVER AGAIN! my money will be spent elsewhere. CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING IS OVERDUE
google avatar

Yelp
This was actually a pleasant surprise when we ventured out for a quick breakfast. Real eggs, thick bacon and a pretty decent biscuit. The biscuit was fairly large so it definitely hit the spot. The price was also very reasonable for what you would expect from the quality. Hands down this breakfast sandwich beat anything you'd get at a fast food joint or quick serve restaurant. The donuts are great too, if you prefer something sweeter.

Yasmeen S.

Yelp
I don't get my glazed beignets from anywhere else ever... always fresh and hot. The best!!!

Yelp
If I was allergic to tomato.. I would have been a goner.. I asked for PoBoy Dressed No Tomato.. got me 3 slices.. I asked to add the extra $2 for drink and chips.. staff said not on PoBoy.. My food was severed in a ToGo container.. why is that.. is it because I'm not White.. because everyone around me was served on Plate... I was here last November.. horrible service.. I thought I would get it another try since I live close.. Nope Not Coming Back

Lynnette S.

Yelp
Always a treat and the ride is always happy for! The Bavarian cream is stuffed in there!

Yelp
Food and new place were very good. Great service too. The killer for me and it's an easy fix is REAL COFFEE CUPS! please if I'm eating in I want a real cup and a bottle of ketchup not packets. Other customers around me said the same thing. Please fix this It's an easy fix and people want y'all to do well.

Yelp
I'll be the first to admit that I usually don't go for donuts. If I'm going to go for something sweet, I just go for cake, but Joe's might change all that. For some reason, I've become kind of obsessed with their donuts. More specifically, their chocolate sprinkle donuts and their glazed chocolate donuts that actually have a really rich chocolate flavor. Either one will make for a perfect dessert when a craving hits. They also have a variety of other sweet and pastries that I have to resist when my sweet tooth kicks in. Did someone say McKenzie's turtles?! Oh yeah. I've been here for lunch once and the experience was great. Even though the restaurant was packed, service was attentive and friendly. I got a club sandwich with a side of grits and some donut holes, because when you're eating in a diner, and all of that is available, you go for it. The sandwich was really good, but curiously only had ham and bacon on it as the meats. I guess that's their version of a club and that's fine with me, I enjoyed it. The grits were yummy and, of course, the sweets always hit the spot because they're known for their donuts. I have yet to try breakfast here, but I'll be doing so soon. I'm glad there's a Joe's in Terrytown.

Yelp
Sigh. The saga of crazy restaurant stories continues ... This place just opened which is why I hate to do this b/c I understand the crazy of opening up a store for the first time buttttttttt it's my duty to let people know what's up. So let's start with the positives. Great Coffee on the first trip. The second trip- I don't know what was going on. I should've stayed in drive through. Speaking of drive through, everything is made to order so if you're looking for fast service like Burger King - you're looking in the wrong place to grab your morning muffin. You're better off coming inside. First experience, was drive through. Nothing bad about it just took longer than expected- I asked the woman with the bright braids if she would like me to pull up front so that she can take the next person she said no and then shortly after asked could I pull up to the front - in my head I was like - I literally just asked you- but I let it go and I received my order 15 minutes later and It was hot so I can't complain there. They did forget to give me syrup which I found strange being that I ordered pancakes. But oh well I left with my Joe on the Rocks happy as a clam. Second visit I went inside. What in the hell did I walk into? My order took 35 minutes and the woman who took my order was so badly trained she couldn't tell a lid from a cup I tell ya. My joe on the rocks was not even filled up to the top as usual - she didn't even know how to make it - so I'm super frustrated but I was being patient with her b/c I know how it is to receive bad training and left to defend yourself. It was just a cluster of craziness. The woman taking my order couldn't find the buttons to place my order the woman she was asking for help was running around helping other orders.. she was about to crash I tell ya. And if she would have said "I'm new here I don't know" one more time I would have screamed. I'm over here like what. In . The . Karen is going on here.!?! So of course I reviewed the ticket to make sure she didn't over charge me... I felt more stressed being there than leaving there .. it was people backed up almost to the door. #Circus Town. And now I hear that Chris in the back is putting human waste in food!?! Which is crazy b/c all I seen were melanated men in the back cooking. So I don't know where that came from. Would I go back..that's up for question. The prices vs the portion size barely seems worth it.

Yelp
Joe's is pretty good, but I'm still not totally convinced that it's worth the money. Before an important doctor appointment at a hospital downtown, we decided to stop at Joe's and grab some donuts to eat on the way. As we pulled in, we noticed through the windows that it was totally packed inside, so we opted for the drive thru which had a short line. The menu... TONS of breakfast options, but all are at prices of a dine-in breakfast restaurant. A $12+ breakfast sandwich? Holy cow! I can't speak on if the breakfast meals are worth it, but that price sure is slightly intimidating for a drive thru menu. The donuts were all pretty expensive (like $3-4+ each), too, so we got the basic dozen of glazed donuts for about $9. The drive thru was quick and when we got to the window, we were immediately handed a box of hot, fresh donuts. It was pretty interesting, too, that they give you your food before they process the payment. Maybe because they want to show customers they trust us? I don't know. Just something a little different than most fast food restaurants we've been to. Once we paid and left, we dug in. The donuts were hot, the dough was soft and they weren't overbearingly sweet, but they still just didn't convince me that they're THAT much better than donuts you can grab from the local grocery store. I'm definitely not completely ready to write off the place just yet because I would like to at least TRY their specialty donuts and other menu items like the sandwiches and burgers, but if I didn't make it to Joe's again before we move away, I wouldn't be sad or feel like I've really missed out.

Yelp
I give this establishment 3 stars. The smell of fresh coffee and donuts aroma is in the air. Well that's always pleasant. They do not take orders over the phone but you do have option to order online . I believe they should do both.
google avatar

Essence S.

Yelp
I don't really enjoy joe's cafe. The donuts are usually good only when they are freshly made but once they start to lose the freshness of them in such little time they are no longer good to me to indulge on. I've tried the food also and could be better

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Today was the first day of the Happy Hour special from 3pm to 5. I arrived at 3 and ordered the roast beef poboy combo. The special is dine in only. They had 1 lady taking care of lobby and drive through and 1 cook in the back. Sandwich good. My sister, bro-in-law and niece joined me. They ordered same poboy and my sister claimed dressed. We were told they were out of lettuce and truck was coming in the morning. If the server wasn't rushed, she could have repeated the order instead of my sister receiving plain roast beef. She wasn't pleased. I'll give them one more try. My niece ordered French toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. The bacon was too hard to chew. They also need a trash can in the lobby, instead of a small circle hole, plate would not fit. Hopefully next time I'll have a more positive review.

Yelp
Every time I come to visit family in New Orleans we wind up going to breakfast at a lot of little places like this that tend to be geared to take-out or serving small groups (1-2 people). Places that are mostly counter space or small tables. We roll in with at least 5 and service is often spotty at best. That was the case here, but the waitresses/staff were friendly and from what I understand this place (at least this location) is pretty new. It took a little while to get coffee & place orders, but once everything was straightened out the food was very good! I got a delicious three egg omelette with sausage & I can't remember what veggie. I also got pepper jack cheese. I like when places put the cheese over the omelette & that's what they do a Joe's. It came w/a biscuit that was good as well. Everyone else I was with seemed to enjoy what they ordered as well. My nephew has one of those HUGE Texas donuts which is a fun & unique thing this place has (the pastry case looked AMAZING). Coffee was good as well, and like I said, after some initial hiccups service was good. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
SLOOOOOOOOWWWW service inside the restaurant and in the drive thru. You will get stuck in the parking lot for an hour if their drive thru is long. Been there several times and this was the last time. Go to Terry Town Cafe down the street. Their donuts are better, they're open 24/7 and the staff is more friendly!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Usually go to the drive thru for a coffee, but today decided to try the food. Big mistake. The chicken Caesar wrap was such a mess put together I'm surprised anyone in the kitchen felt enough pride to serve that, not to mention finding little chicken bones was a pretty big turn off. The overpriced onion rings were greasy and half of them were the outer skin of the onion that you don't want to eat. Also threw away the crawfish and corn soup I had bought for my son.. certainly by the way it tasted and smelled, I didn't want either one of us eating it and getting sick such a waste of money, and the rude girl at the window today was enough for me to never go back.

Jerry V.

Yelp
We normally go to Joe's for breakfast on Sunday mornings which is wonderful so we thought we'd try lunch on a Saturday and they sure missed the mark. My husband ordered pot roast, mashed potatoes w/gravy. He received cold pot roast and rice which he promptly sent back and they obviously put it in the microwave because is was so hot, he couldn't eat it. I ordered the patty melt and validated that it came with grilled onions....the server said it did but when my meal was delivered not an onion in sight. I definitely will think twice about returning...
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I come here I expect a little wait but today it was over 50 mins!! Mind you I just had a procedure done on my back so I hadn't eaten since last night. Me and my friend both order the pot roast I get mine with mashed potatoes and macaroni also a cup of potato soup. I got a plate full of gravy and crawfish and corn soup I didn't even order that. My friend got the pot roast as well with mashed potatoes no gravy and steamed veggies she got Mac and cheese no potatoes. We called to tell them the issue and asked for the manager which I doubt we talked to they just said to bring the food back for a refund and my friend informs them we don't have the time so they say come tomorrow and she asked do we need to bring the food back tomorrow and they said yes who does that? They also were very abrupt on the phone and we didn't even get to finish what we were saying before they hung up. They screwed up and want us to bring the food back tomorrow? I also paid with a debit card and was refunded cash less the tip I left. Soooo she went back to return the food since I was filling a prescription at Walgreens and got the money back. But it was for the food and not the tip which is still a charge on my debit card. I won't be coming back this was a very terrible experience and the only compensation we got was the e refund minus the tip and 6 donuts. One would think after 50 our order would be perfect but another let down. I was giving them another chance but they failed miserably my last visit they screwed up my food too. I'll just stick to my favorite gas station for lunch for now on.

Mally A.

Yelp
I love this place, they have the most AMAZING red Velvet doughnuts anywhere and their Buttermilk Drops are unique, delicious and perfection. The service is always excellent as I usually order take out or drive thru, I have yet to sit at one. You don't know what you are missing if you don't go by...

Shellie G.

Yelp
Everything's always good at Joe's. Coffee, donuts, fried okra, breakfast quesadilla, BLT,..... Biscuits and gravy are a little salty but other than that, other food I've had from there was good. Service is pretty fast too.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
Worst. Service. Ever. I only come here because I do like the food and live across the street. But the service is the shittest service ever.
google avatar

Ladell V.

Yelp
Love the breakfast and egg rolls are delicious!! Service is great very friendly staff.

Yelp
I feel like Joe's cafe is kind of a hit or miss. I usually go in to get donuts bc it's convenient, but I absolutely dread going inside to order because you just never know which type of service that you're going to get. Last time I ordered, the lady told me to take my mask off because she couldn't understand what I was saying. (I honestly think she was a little hard of hearing since she was the one that was yell talking. Lol) Okay whatever. So I repeated a glazed and powdered creme doughnut and she confirmed it. It was just such a weird and awkward experience. I got home ready to dig in and that lady gave me two glazed. So moral of the of the story, if you go there--make sure you check your order before you leave.
google avatar

Stacie G.

Yelp
Aweful awful service. 1 was 2nd car in line. Took 5 mins to ask me for the order. Then the employee had a real hard time understanding I wanted a dozen donuts. Half glazed half cake. She responded so you want 6? I slowly repeated myself 3 times. Then waited 15 minutes for the pancakes. They did not check on me or inform me it would be a while longer. I had to go into the store and then back out and pull in front again. If you all want to be in business for a while your going to have to figure this out. This is my 3 trip a final time. Each time slow ......... sure people are really nice but they are struggling.
google avatar

Yelp
More donut places in Terrytown is always a good thing. When I lived in Marrero, Joe's was my place. So when they opened up in T-Town, I was happy to have another place to ease up the traffic at the other nearby donut shops. And another place to get the mini burgers Castle burger style. This location of Joes is like the other newer versions. Modern, flat panel tv menus, renovated and a huge menu selection. Prices are right and the donuts are yum yum. Turning in and parking is a bit tight but I think this location is more drive thru suited. The like you to call in ahead of time if you want food food, then the drive up part is very fast.

David W.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible! Fries pork chop dinner with double mash potatoes and gravy and bread. Pork chops just put in the fryer with no breading! Really! Double mash potatoes with gravy. I bowl of mash had gravy the other didn't. No bread in package and this was a to go order. Terrytown location has always been a disappointment but I am done. Learn how to cook!. Can't choose zero but that's whT joes deserves
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
Had to drive to the drive-thru window after waiting 12 minutes in the Drive-Thru to place an order due to the cashier only catering too inside patrons. Entire dozen of donuts taste as if they were cooked and refrigerated and allowed to thaw in room temperature.
google avatar

Amanda E.

Yelp
Really flavorful, soft king cakes. The best in New Orleans in my opinion! I've already purchased more than one this carnival season.
google avatar

Sharon J.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for years, but today was absolutely awful. I phoned an order for the surf and turf burger. I picked up the order and traveled quite a distance to arrive home and discovered that they burger was hard and I ordered medium well, no lettuce and tomatoe, fries were hard as a rock and the ground meat was very dry. I ordered two muffins which were hard and dry. When I phoned to report the issue, I was told that the next time I place a order, I can get a 1/2 dozen donuts. I advised her that I am a diabetic and she advised that since the manager/owner was not in, there was nothing else she could do. My grandson loves this place, but we are not going back.
google avatar

Kourtney S.

Yelp
I've worked around the corner from Joes since they opened in 2019, and I've finally got around to trying it. Sooooo good! I had the fried shrimp on bun and the shrimp were golden fried to perfection. Also had the Cajun Eggrolls with pepper jelly sauce and those had just the right amount of spice. Highlyyyy recommend trying whether it's for a quick drive thru grab or to dine in!

Yelp
First visit to a Joe's. Counter staff was lovely, but I walked in to place a to-go order at breakfast time and after 10 minutes of waiting was given the wrong item. I ordered the chicken breakfast sandwich with egg, was asked if I wanted cheese and agreed. Waited. Was given my container, left, opened once I got into the car. Just the chicken, no egg or cheese. Counter staff told me the register wasn't putting in to-go orders, hence my wait, and the kitchen must have just messed up--messed up putting a piece of warmed fried chicken patty on a biscuit and adding an egg and cheese to it. Come on, it's what this diner is supposed to do right!
