Joe's Cafe - Review - Granada Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We’re going to keep this simple - if you’re looking for a go-to breakfast spot in the Northridge area, make it Joe’s Cafe in Granada Hills. Opened since 2012, Joe’s is the kind of dependable breakfast and lunch spot that every neighborhood in LA wishes they had. And by dependable, we mean just about everything on the menu is worth ordering. The stuffed French toast is what you’ll find on most tables, but we usually go for the pork belly hash and a sausage-and- egg-topped breakfast sandwich called The Cure. If you’re coming on a weekend, be sure to put your name down on their on-line waiting list, or plan to wait for about an hour." - Brant Cox

Joe's food is soo good! We went a as a party of 6 and everyone was more than pleased with our experience. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and it was different than any I have had before... but, in a good way! The staff were pleasant and took care of us. The food was brought to us in a proper amount if time and everything was served hot as it was supposed to be. The restaurant itself had a great feel and the ambiance was very eclectic. I will be returning!!! Enjoy!! #jsho @jshoeats

Overpriced hipster place, food was fairly mediocre, the noise level was intense. I was recommended this place for my first breakfast in LA and was quite disappointed. My husband got "the junk" and it was the driest sandwich he's ever had for $23. The eggs Benedict were nothing special despite the pork belly, the sauce was light though but it didn't taste much of anything outside of vinegar. Everything is an add-on you have to pay for, when the basic item is already quite steep because people living in the area are obviously well-off. I was shocked to see people in the kitchen with long untied hair, trucker hats, airpods etc. Doesn't look super sanitary. Tired of the hype around overpriced places that give you mason jars for glasses and use cheese gratters for lampshades.

Best brunch I’ve had in LA so far! Short of it… GO, now. We went during the week and didn’t have to wait to get in. On the weekend I’ve heard you’ll have to wait a while and now I know why. What’s GREAT: The PORK BELL eggs Benny (texture, taste, presentation all 🔥… I added the jalapeno hot sauce, some pepper and was in heaven. MAY BE the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had 🤤), BISCUIT AND GRAVY (the biscuit had a slight sweetness and was super tender, and if you can imagine the gravy reminded me of clam chowder without all the extra stuff like the clams/ potatoes/ veggies. This is a good thing.), OATMEAL (this oatmeal is made with oatmilk and sweetened with maple 🍁 syrup. Texture and taste phenomenal). SERVICE was also flawless (everyone was super nice, attentive and informed on how to navigate this experience. Our guy had a fly mullet too). What’s GOOD: the STUFFED FRENCH TOAST (let me first say this is one step away from also be great! The stuffing was BOMB. It was a mix of berries and cream that was perfect, not too sweet and had berries that gave the tart that I need. That one step to GREAT is the bread fully absorbing the custard. The edges were lacking the French toast submersion and that could be by design. The bread is super thick so I get it. Maybe just a preference thing. Bottom line, order this too!)

It was my first time trying this Cafe! Ordered waffles and chicken also Ordered Grill Cheese with pull pork and sweet potato fries. The chicken and waffles were very good but not with the gravy bacon sauce. In my opinion I don't like soggy waffles so that was the negative. The next plate next time I won't get the pull pork in the grill cheese. On the flip side the Service was amazing I like the way the Cafe is very welcoming. As far as the Food the taste and flavor were on spot but maybe next will order differently.

The food was decent but very over priced. The service was terrible. Our server was rushing us and was kind of rude. When we looked around the room we saw that everyone got complementary bread and we notice how all the customers that looked really young also did not get bread. I think the servers were being biased due to our young appearance. When I asked for the drink menu when our server was passing by he handed me a menu without looking and it wasn't even the drink menu. When I walked up to him to tell him, he gave the wrong menu he seemed annoyed. He also didn't ask if we needed any condiments. I had to ask another server. Overall the whole time the service was poor and we barely got checked up on.

It was busy on Saturday morning at 9 am, but even so, I was seated quickly. The menu was small but diverse with choices ranging from sweet to savory. I was in the mood for sweet, so I ordered stuffed French toast which I was told was an excellent choice by the server..who said it with a knowing smile. He was right....on both counts,as I was alone there was no way I was finishing this gargantuan plate of deliciousness by myself. I regretted not bringing a friend. Just go already! You won't regret...but bring some Money as this place ain't cheap, but it's GOOD! Oh and parking may be a slight challenge, but you can do it!

Google
Young, energetic and friendly staff. Had the biscuit and gravy. Biscuit has more of a cornbread consistency (not a fan), gravy was a bit flat in flavor. Coffee was pricey at $5.50 and didn’t taste anything out of the ordinary. The steak and eggs at $31 is about the same level as Norm’s.

Joe.....Joe....Joe. We came to your Café when it was a small place after your Won "Chopped" and we were never disappointed. Food was always Delicious. TOP notch. During our last visit, Not impressed. I had a burger. The bun was greasy, Fries were Excellent. My wife had an Omelet but was dry. The Potatoes were overly greasy. We didn't get this. I ordered a Michelada and beer was warm. This was the worst Michelada I ever had. Only took a couple of sips. We were extremely sad because we always wanted to bring Friends but I am not sure now. This review does not really do justice because we loved how you brought up this place and maybe it was just this time food was not Top Notch.

Yelp
Came for a breakfast date with a group of 6. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very friendly. We ordered drinks and placed our food order once they were delivered. Food came out all together which is great in a large party. Everyone enjoyed their food. My breakfast burrito was pretty big, it was delicious. Next time I'll ask for more green sauce on top. I shared a pancake and it was perfectly fluffy & sweet with the whip cream they serve on the side. No syrup needed.

Yelp
It was my first time trying out Joe's Cafe here in Granada Hills. I opted in for Stuffed French Toast and must say what a WOW dish. I was definitely not expecting French Toast like this, which is a must try when having friends and family visiting. The stuff inside the Stuffed French Toast tasted a bit like it was fermenting fruit, so it had a bit of an alcoholic taste. The service that we received from Daniel was amazing. He would frequently check in on us. He brought over the chef's complimentary pretzel bun. It was sliced, and came with a sweet pineapple sauce and a spicy something (sorry, don't remember). Street parking. It has a relaxed atmosphere inside, a combination of industrial and rustic. Joe (owner) was on the Food Network Chopped, and won the competition.

Yelp
Dined in for brunch and was seated instantly! They provide complimentary bread paired with some seasonal jams. We got sweet potato and pineapple, which were so delicious! Stuffed French Toast: Gigantic and super filling! The dish was not too sweet and the loads of fresh berries won me over! Chicken & Waffles: Sweetness from the bacon and savoriness from the gravy was an amazing pair! Overall, dishes can be a bit pricey ranging around mid to upper twenties. But, the portions are large and can definitely feed 2 people!
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Their food and service is ok but small portions that are extremely overpriced!!! $5.50 for a cup of coffee and $4.50 for an add on of ONE slice of toast and a quarter cup of potatoes is insane!!! If you are looking for a place to eat let your fingers keep walking to find a a less overpriced restaurant!!

Yelp
Great fresh food! Love the home made jams and toasted brioche bread they serve. They serve intelligentsia coffee which is delicious.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Good here is great & service is quick and friendly. Prices are pretty expensive but overall food is good! Cute cafe!

Yelp
My own order was the Pork belly Eggs Benedict but when I got out with my sister and her bf we share all the dishes and I didn't throughly enjoy my eggs Benedict but the junk was such a great dish also and the breakfast burrito was awesome. The pancakes balls are really fun not the most greatest tasting dish I've ever had but they are great and cool. Our server was actually really nice and cheerful so that made it a good time. I love the decor of Joe's all the plants and old kitchen aid mixer around are so cute it really feels like I'm sitting waiting for good food coming my way.
google avatar

Arev M.

Yelp
Absolutely must visit place! The service is perfect, fast and amazing. My salad tasted very good but I could not finish it ! The only is not something within the cafe, it is actually the parking lot. They really need a bigger space for the parking. Other than that everything was perfect.. see you all on my next visit to LA

Yelp
The food was delicious and fresh when Joe's Cafe first opened When my husband and I recently went and we're so disappointed The potatoes were old over fried in the pork belly hash , I had the Eggs Benedict the bread for hard the chicken sausage was over fried Ask for a side of purple onions and was charged for it. Our server never came back tosee if we need anything The quality of the for is very poor from when they first opened.

Yelp
Finally got to try Joes Cafe and I thought it was great. I ordered the BLT sandwich with French fries and my friend ordered the champagne flight with the Pretzel Bun Sandwich and we both loved the food and the fries were to die for. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance very chill and crowded.

Yelp
Every single time I have gone to have brunch here it has never disappointed. They always have bread for the table with TWO freshly made marmalades or jellies that change every time. If you sit at the bar, outdoor or indoor area they will take care of you with such attention that it gives a great experience. My favorite is always the chicken & waffles, it's been my to go to since day one. Best Chicken & waffle I have had.

Yelp
Let's start off love the layout of this place very cool calm and collective atmosphere local atmosphere. The plating was very nice and aesthetic. The service was quick and attentive. You can get onto the waitlist on Yelp which I love. Biscuits n Gravy - 6/7 it was super filling and I would've appreciated they went easy on the sausage bits. It felt like a soup. But it was tasty and a different take on it. Side of eggs, SUPER SALTY Benedict - 7 the taste was ok, pork belly was a bit small and didn't go well with the benedict very well could've been better as far as pairing it together. The pancakes were 10/10 which is was the upside of our brunch light, fluffy and not too sweet and yummy fruits!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Joe's many times in the past and the most recent experience was okay. The wait was long as expected 1.5 hours for 2 people on a Sunday. We already knew that so we planned to shop at the tj max while we wait. The staff were nice but this review is about the pricing and food. As you know inflation is everywhere but the prices on are too much. A glass of fresh orange juice is $9.50( I did not get it due to price), my table ordered pancakes (2 flap jacks) and a breakfast burrito which totaled $50.00. The food didn't taste up to par to be priced so high. No complaints on the staff or the environment it's specifically the prices and quality of the food. I understand this is a time where everything is going up but it's sad to see the quality of the food doesn't match the prices.

Yelp
We had a great time at Joe's! We used to live down the street but never ventured here unfortunately. Now that we live a little farther we happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to check it out and I'm so happy we did. We showed up a little after 10 on a Saturday morning in July and while it was busy we had no wait for a party of two and were seated immediately. The vibe of the whole place is lively and really gave us a sense of community. We tried the flight of mimosas which was so good, I liked most of them but definitely glad we got to try 4 different ones. For food we ordered the pork belly hash and the pork belly Eggs Benedict. I kid you not, some of the best Hollandaise sauce. The pork belly was fried to perfection, it was not too hard or too soft. The hash was amazing too with peppers and onions. 10/10 would recommend, we will definitely be returning here!

Yelp
THIS PLACED IS SO OVERPRICED!!!!! Me and my family went for brunch we thought I was going to be so good because of the 1 hour wait. Inside was nice. But our sever was what the problem a started he just but bread on the table without telling it what is was and barely even engaged. When we looked at the menu we noticed how over priced it was. $20 for a waffle. That is outrageous!! It would be at least a 3 or 4 star review if the food was good but it wasn't. The waffles were weird and the chicken was weird.

Angie J.

Yelp
I Had high expectations of this restaurant, but was banboozled. Pictures look beautiful. The breakfast was filling, but my burrito was loaded with potatoes I was searching for the egg. His Queen bee meal was bland and simple with no flavor. The salsa was not good tasted past due and full of vinegar. ( vinegar to conserve it longer?) Prices are $$ hiked up maybe because they give you bread and some jams (that are not really jams). sorry guys I won't be back. I gave it 2 stars hostess and waiter were super nice.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast last Saturday. I joined the waitlist while heading over there so it cut my wait time by half. It was just me and my son so we sat by the back. Since they're a busy restaurant you'll probably be seated in the middle if you're only a party of 2. I liked my server though, he's attentive and friendly. They give you complimentary bread with 2 kinds of jam. Coconut one was interesting. In going to places like this I try to get something from the menu that I can't find in other places. I ordered the pork belly hash - it's soooo good. Well if you like that crunchy bits and pork belly fat definitely get this. Also it's very filling - I couldn't finish it had to bring a little of it home. The egg was cooked well so I mixed that runny egg yolk to the pork and hash and that's the meal. Ordered the short stack pancake for me and my son to share. He had the omelette which he liked. Place is not that big so it can feel a bit cramped. But I loved the vibe. Price is also good - typical for breakfast places like these. We found parking in the street - they have a small parking in the back.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here before and really enjoyed the food so we decided to come back. This visit was so-so. Wait is expected when you come around 10ish on a Sunday. I ordered short stack pancakes with chocolate chip and unfortunately they forgot to add the chocolate chips. Biscuit and sausage, I didnt expect their biscuit to be cornbread. Wished the food was warmer and that there wasnt cornbread. I let the server know I didn't like it and he kindly took it off. My fiancé ordered fried chicken sandwich and he expected chicken to be a bit more fried like the chicken and waffles they have, it look liked something cooked on a flat top. Overall, not sure if they were having an off day but this might be our last time coming here.

Yelp
Brunch is one of my most favorite meals - scarfing down sweet and savory food just as the day has already started to buzz. Having not had the chance to venture out around Porter Ranch, this establishment caught my attention with its reviews, food choices , and photos. Just before leaving, I was able to RSVP via Yelp so the wait would be minimal. Upon arrival, we were seated but did have to wait a cool 15 minutes before our waitress approached. This was understandable since it seemed the floor was understaffed. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles - honestly I've had better. The waffle was not a waffle. It seemed more like a biscuit in the shape of a waffle. It was very thick and had more of a bread consistency. The fried chicken was good but could have been more moist. The entire dish was covered in bacon bits which overpowered everything else. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito. This was better. A healthy balance of meat, potatoes, and other stuffed goodness. Their green hot sauce was really tangy and flavorful. Loved it. We will likely venture out back to Pasadena for brunch but for convenience sake, this place handled the job.

Yelp
Joe's cafe is good for a quick lil breakfast. I've always enjoyed the pretzel bread & jams. It's nothing crazy, but good if you want some waffles & pancakes!

Yelp
We went to Joe's Cafe on Labor Day. It is close to home so I have been many times before. We had out of town guests visiting who watch Food Network's Chopped religiously, and the owner, Joe, was on Chopped in 2014 and won, so they had to go. It was a holiday so very busy. I believe we waited about 30 minutes. The restaurant's unique decor features cooking apparatus, utilizing large mixers as plant containers and cheese graters, colanders and other kitchen gadgets are used as lighting covers. Very well done. The food was great. We had their breakfast burrito, which is huge AND never disappoints; the chicken sandwich, which is juicy and loaded with fresh toppings and the hot sauce is kick; the breakfast croissant, which is smaller than the burrito but just as delicious; and last, but not least, the pancakes and fruit which were decadent and yummy. The winner though was their bloody Mary. In addition to the normal celery, it was topped with a large piece of candied bacon and a delicious piece of pork belly. Just amazing. If you are in the area and looking for breakfast, brunch or lunch Joe's should definitely be on your list.
google avatar

Yelp
If I'm not mistaken, I think the owner of this restaurant won a famous cooking show called 'chopped'. Anyways, I grew up in granada hills and went to high school down the street and never been to joes cafe. Well today, we stopped by to grab some breakfast. First thing when walking in to the restaurant, I love the vibe of the restaurant and seemed very cabin like with all the wood theme going on. There's also places to sit to enjoy your meal, but it was too hot outside and decided to eat indoors. I ordered the chicken & waffles, and she ordered the avocado breakfast bruschetta. The presentation of the food was impeccable 5/5 stars on that. The food tasted absolutely amazing and it gets a 4.5 stars for that. She said the coffee was good but nothing special on that 3.5 stars. To be honest, yes the food tasted amazing but for the amount of food that you get, I don't think it should be priced for what it is. I paid like 50-60 for breakfast, that's a little absurd. Overall, she liked it so that's all that matters to me
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
It was our my first time to try here because I always see a long line and never got the chance. I guess my expectation was too high. The have a very simple menu and I literally could not decide what to order. I usually like eggs benedict, but theirs is not traditional, it was will pork belly and I did not really enjoy it. The food was expensive compare to our go to breakfast place in Encino. The croissant sandwhich is something you can do yourself at home, plain and simple. What I enjoyed the most is the Stuffed frenchtoast, even if its pricey it was worth it. The place is cute inside not too big not too small and enought table spacing which I like. Servers are nice but then me and my friend whom I have not seen in a year was having a great time catching up but we were ask by one of the server(lady) to leave as they have 90min seating rule, it was the way she told us that I didn't like...oh well atleast I get to try the food and probably not gonna come back. Parking is very limited too in the back, so most cars are on the street, residential are or by Rite Aid accross where starbucks is and then you just walk.
google avatar

Nelinda B.

Yelp
We went to Joe's Cafe for breakfast and first of all, this place is super cute. I absolutely love breakfast places like this. Since it was my first time I had to try the pancakes and it did not disappoint! I asked for berries on the side and it was perfect. We also had the pork belly hash and OMGEE it was delicious! The potato and pork belly ratio was great! Lastly I always love places with refillable coffee and theirs was pretty good. All in all, great experience that I'll be sure to come back for more. Quick tip: there's plenty of street parking and probably best to come early to beat the crowds.

Yelp
Came to get some sustenance after a morning hike. I got the biscuits and gravy. The spouse got the pork belly hash. We ordered both with eggs. And a healthy single pancake with fruit and whipped cream - for our shared brunch desert. Outside of the pancake, everything felt like it missed the mark in terms of taste. Though we enjoyed the presentation of the dishes being served in these nifty soup bowl/plate hybrids. It made the portions feel plentiful - which they mostly were. It was just a shame that everything lacked salt and a further nuance of seasoning. The gravy for my biscuits was supposed to consist of sausage and bacon bits, but they just tasted like vague meat chunks in the plain gravy. I did enjoy the density and square cut of the housemade biscuits, though. And the pork belly hash only had enough peppers and onions so you couldn't accuse the cooks of not including any. There could have been more. And more of a fine oil finish to the dish in its entirety. We would've preferred a decent fry job for the potatoes. It was a nice place to eat outside at on a Sunday morning, but I don't think we ordered any of the signature items. I did clock the various sandwiches and burritos on everyone else's tables, so perhaps a combo of those when we feel like brunching in the area again.
google avatar

Lopsie S.

Yelp
When we got to the table, there was pretzel bread and water. Already waiting! The pretzel bread also had two choices of dipping jams: spicy tomato and mixed berry. I was expecting the spicy tomato to be savory, but it was sweet. It was still good though. The orange juice is freshly squeezed, and the coffee is delicious. The only weird thing about it was that they put granulated sugar packs on the plate, but there is organic cane, sugar, and regular granulated sugar already on the table. Maybe some people don't want to use the open sugar pours? We had the breakfast burrito, which was a hefty couple pounds of deliciousness that really hit the spot. Make sure to ask for their home made hot sauces! "The Queen Bee" their version of a Croque Madam, was also filling, and I liked their thick, if slightly sweet, gravy - it was a tasty combination. The side of bacon came with 3 pieces. Service was fast and friendly. Our server Monika was Fantastic! I didn't notice until we were leaving that the lampshades in the restaurant are all kitchen equipment; colanders, graters, even whisks! We left completely stuffed, and we are big eaters. I think we could have fed a third person with the amount of food we had.

Yelp
Had a pancake and BLT. Adequate is the best description. The BLT, describing it generously, was nothing special. The place in general is kind of divvy as well. The process the other hand are quite high and the food just doesn't live up to it.
google avatar

Tammy c.

Yelp
On a road trip and decided to stop at Joe's Café. It's a little bit of a drive off the five freeway, but is a nice find. We split the kids French toast with strawberries, and the omelette which we had with sausage, spinach, and cheese. Everything was delicious. Service was great. The weight staff is friendly. Plenty of seating inside and it's nice and clean. Good music playing but you can still have a good conversation
google avatar

L L.

Yelp
The food was excellent. I had the Avocado Breakfast Bruschetta with bacon (see pic). My husband had their burrito. Both were delicious. The service was also great. We went early and it was quiet and pleasant. This is a hidden gem in Northridge.

Lisa P.

Yelp
As a recent transplant, so happy to discover Joe's in the neighborhood for a solid, easy brunch or lunch spot. The BLT was everything you'd want in a sammie. The staff were chill and friendly and the place was clean and hopping.

Yelp
I want to come back and back again many time to try different things on the menu at Joe's Cafe!! The pork ground press and fried to a crisp served with two eggs tasted like you were standing in the middle of Iowa's pork country. My parfait was fresh and delicious with berries abound. Our Intelligensia coffee made us wonder what we'd never tried it before. Our waiter was so charming we couldn't have asked for more unless he sat down and joined us. Joes Cafe is a little pricey for us two seniors but that won't keep us completely away from coming away. Thanks for a great start to our morning!!
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
Kelsey the wait staff is awesome, plus the food is fresh and prepped everyday. Glad to leave a positive comment, but please leave the GH gem for the locals.

Yelp
Delicious brunch place! Absolutely love their different homemade jams, fresh squeezed orange juice, and bacon bits pancakes. Service is fast and kind. Great ambiance for families !
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast if you're looking for something without the traditional menu. Unique flavors and coffee that is so smooth and mouth watering you'll definitely have a second cup. Ambiance is nice, but outside dinning was relaxing too. Service is top notch! Kelsey was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt about checking on my table throughout the meal.
google avatar

Virginia A.

Yelp
Back again to my favorite cafe in Granada hills!! The service is always outstanding!! My server was phenomenal!! Such a vibe and personality all on its own! This time I had their Chicken and Brie Sandwich on sourdough bread a recommendation made by my server and a strawberry lemonade.. PERFECTION!! I left feeling so satisfied!! This is a gem of a cafe and it's always a success when I visit!!!

Mari D.

Yelp
Hopped off my plane at LAX and first stop on recommendation was Joe's Cafe. It was an early Friday morning so we managed to find street parking right out front and were seated right away. Their menu had a bunch of fun options but I opted for the breakfast burrito, which was very filling. It was stuffed with potatoes, sausage, scrambled eggs, onions, peppers, cheese, and a really delicious sauce/aioli. Our friendly server was quick to get everything out to us and topped off our drinks often. He even gave me extra iced tea in a to-go cup on our way out! It's a good thing we got there early because by the time we left, it got super busy. I'd definitely go back to try their stuffed French toast because the table next to us made it look so yummy!
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Joe's is a great brunch spot! Pet friendly on the front portion of the restaurant. I always enjoy trying the different variety of flavors of their complimentary jams they provide with their pretzel bread. Their staff is always super friendly. Great vibes. Would recommend to try this place.
google avatar

Debbie L.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great! Our server Colton was excellent but almost everything on the menu was $21 and up!! We both had a Cobb Salad which was not at all unique. I realize everything has gone up in price but you've got to do better than I could do at home
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Overpriced! I can definitely start by saying that Joes is one of the most outrageously priced places we have gone. It's not that it's too expensive it's just unreasonable expensive. $6 for a kids apple juice... really. The bread they give when you first sit is always a miss. I'm sorry but no. The WIN of this place is their chicken Caesar wrap, the fries, and the house made RANCH!!!!! I dunno what's in that but I could live on it.
google avatar

Blace B.

Yelp
Join the wait list! There's always a wait, but it's worth it. Oats N Berries was delightfully better than others I've had at other restaurants: real fresh RIPE strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries (no melons! So glad), light, creamy oatmeal (I don't know how they do it!); topped with REAL fresh whipped cream. Yum!

Maria G.

Yelp
Love it there. Food is incredible and fresh. The service is great. They have outdoor seating and indoor.

Yelp
Lackluster service. Hostess acted like she wasnt interested in her job. We waited for a table to be cleaned and she didnt even alert the bus boys. Food is WAY overpriced. Biscuits and gravy 17$ were a joke and a tiny portion. Literally Supermarket bread for biscuits and terrible gravy with little sausage. The $20 french toast was absolutely average and you can make it at home. If youre going to overcharge for breakfast food at least match the quality. Absolutely never coming here again. Was excited about a new spot in that area. Definitely going to the other breakfast place by there next time.

Yelp
So good It is busy, it is noisy, it is alive and the food is good. The service is solid and you might even leave with a smile too. Stop reading this and get yourself over there.

Yelp
We used to love going here for brunch and thought it was worth the long wait to enjoy the food. Last visit was for dinner and won't be back. The service was meh, but worst was the booth seating. These were so close together that our bench touched the back of bench next to ours. Every time we shifted, it moved their bench. Spending the evening getting mean looks and constantly apologizing for a situation that could have been avoided by having real booth tables that don't move or some space between each. Either way, the dinner wasn't good enough to make up for this.

Yelp
I visited Joe's cafe over 7 years ago and not much has changed! Dined again with a friend last week on a Thursday around noon. We were seated right away. Food + drinks 4/5 Ordered an omelet and the stuffed French toast to share. The strawberries inside the French toast were a bit sour which wasn't pleasant. The omelette and the side potatoes were delicious! Also got fresh OJ which I loved. Service 5/5 Our server was so sweet and attentive. Ambiance It's a cute cafe with outdoor seating. There's plenty of street parking as well. Price 4/5 Prices are higher compared to other breakfast spots but portions are generous! Overall I'd come back if I'm ever in the area again!

Yelp
I am glad to say that quality of food has stayed consistent over the years. We ordered the Pork Belly Benedict and Stuffed French Toast. The hollandaise sauce was the perfect citrus and creaminess. It didn't over power the pork belly and make it a heavy dish. The cook their pork belly to perfection..crispy on the outside and not overdone inside. The French toast...what can I say that others haven't about its size!! Four people can easily share this dish. Good balance of fruit, bread and sweetness. It does come with syrup but not needed. I do wish both slice had the same amount of filling as one slice was almost bare. However it was toasted well and eating it with the fresh berries and whip was just as good. We did join the waitlist and the host was very friendly and seated us at the table of our choice. It's a local favorite but there were some first timers. It's always busy so I do suggest waitlisting thru Yelp. The outdoor patio is great when weather permits.
