Joe's Crab Shack

This was my first time at Joe's Crab Shack AND I will say it did not disappoint me & my family. Me, my daughter, my 3 granddaughters & grandson in law were very pleased with everything . I have been told prior by a few people not to waste my money here. Well, they couldn't be more wrong. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess & seated immediately in large cozy corner round booth. Everyone ordered something different & EVERY meal was SPOT ON with flavor and serving size. The kids REALLY liked the mozzarella bricks for an appetizer. Theyvwere HUGE & fulled with a delicious mozz. I had the "Not Joe Mama’s Chicken " Grilled chicken breasts, spinach cream, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, topped with sautéed mushrooms, with mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetable (sauteed green beens). IT WAS AMAZING. The spinach in a light cream sauce was so flavorful. Two very generous pieces of boneless chicken. My daughter had the the lobster tails with asparagus. She really enjoyed it. Two of my granddaughters had the "captains platter", that came with 1 fried filet, half a snow crab, 5 shrimp tails with a generous amount of fries. She LOVED the snow crab & 5 shrimp tails. She said the filet batter could use a bit more seasoning for flavor. But all in all she loved it. My youngest granddaughter decided to have the " Joes Starter" appetize for her dinner which included; crab & shrimp dip, great balls of fire, and crispy calamari, with tortilla chips She said the dip was creamy & cheesy, but could have had a little more flavor. She really loved the fireballs. She ate all of it. My son in law had the crab with linguine in a light sauce. He also was pleased. I want to add, that our waitress, Sarah was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. She got all the orders correct. She was VERY attentive & always made sure our drinks were filled. It is so nice to have a waitress make everyone happy tbe whole time we were there. Due to the large order they automatically added 18% gratuity. She deserved that plus more. I gave her a additional 7% more. She also gave my Grandson In Law ( Marine) & my granddaughter * Airman) a military discount of 10%. So nice to see they support our Servicemen. There was a gentleman that may have been the manager ?, that came to our table twice to make sure that everyone was happy, (forgive me, but I forgot his name). We all had a great conversation with him about where we were all from. So there you have it. Don't always listen to friends negative reviews. I HIGHLY recommend this Joe's Crab Shack. Stop in and enjoy a great dinner with top notch service. We will definitely be back. Thank you !

We loved the manager Randy! He made sure we had an awesome time and bought everything we needed in a timely manner. He’s the best! The food was great! The snow crab legs were small so I would suggest king crab. Other than that the portion size was a nice size. I definitely left full. In the photo I had the East Coast Platter!!

I ordered shrimp and seafood extravaganza (forgot name of it). It was absolutely delicious. Erica, the server and Lan, the manager were very personable and welcoming. Perfect experience.

The seafood was OUTSTANDING in particular when I have the three crab combination and the blackened salmon. The waitress Ericka and Mgr Autumn provided EXCELLENT customer service. We come from Alabama to come to Joe's Crab shack because it's worth the trip.

Great service by staff. Plentiful portions to dishes. Joes atmosphere is always lively. This location incorporates the beach vibe to it decor. Anyone looking for seafood, should make their way over here. Especially great for large groups.

Mariyah was a wonderful server. She even offered to take our family picture for Valentine’s Day. Our girls loved all the snow crab.

Food is still amazing even after 20 years! We came to eat after 12:30pm on the way back to Panama City Beach, we had no wait for a table, server was great, the food is impeccable but my all time favorite is still the crab & shrimp dip!

Amazing experience while here on family vacation this past weekend. Our server Drew went above and beyond to take care of us and was very attentive and patient with the kids after them asking him 46 questions. Food was great and Josh the manager was very nice checking on us. I can say out of all the Joe's we have been to while traveling this one is our favorite.

I eat out most meals and in the last 2 yrs I have not had a better waitress than Sarah at Joe's Crab Shake. Was with a small group and she had multiple big tables but she was on top of everything. Food was quick, service was great and she was personally top notch. If you visit, definitely ask for her. She's amazing....

The service was terrible. Me and my family went on recently and the service was terrible. We waited 30-45 mins for a drink from the bar. waited almost two hours for our food. Once we received our food it was cold. I will never never go there again

Joe's is always excellent. The food reminds me of New Orleans. The service and pricing is great atmosphere and staff or great. It is nice and spacious. I've never had to wait. We always get crab legs and smoked tuna dip.

Sara was amazing as a server and took good care of us. The food and drinks were awesome and reminded us we need to come more often.

Jacob dod a great job being our Server. My drink tasted bad, so he got me a new drink and then replaced it with my original request once the fountain drink was fixed

Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience here. The food isn't the best, very salty, and not worth the price that they charge. Seventeen dollars for a tiny piece of chicken on bread is crazy. I also ordered the sampler which came with Calamari that was too salty to eat. Our waiter was friendly, but sadly the food isn't good. There are much better places in Destin.

First timer at Joes Crab Shack. I had the bayou crab legs and my mom had the NY strip steak. Both meals were great tasting. The bayou sauce was excellent but of course extremely messy. Jacob was our waiter and what a sweetheart. Loved everything about his service, particularly his manners and his presence at all times. The ambiance was relaxing and good music.

The season was not seasoning....didnt know the crab legs/shrimp were already in the bag steamed/boiled. We couldn't substitute the mussels for something else- the corn looked like it was decoration & not eatable. Should have told the greater to go home cuz he did not want to be there. Our waitress did the best she can & looked overwhelmed--- disappointed

This is the worst service and seafood I have ever had, the food had no seasoning and they never filled my drink up,and when I asked them for something they made a rude face, I wish there was a 0 star option

I love Joe's Crab Shack. Eat at Joe's y'all. I come here every time I visit Destin, Florida. The staff is super fun and funny. Yesterday, they were doing the Cupid shuffle with my wife and daughter for her 1/2 birthday. Sarah was my server today. Yes, I went to Joe's Crab Shack two days in a row. And you know, I don't care. I love this place. And fun, funny servers like Sarah is why. Come to The Shack. See you tomorrow.

If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible terrible terrible service. Every worker there is incompetent. Charged $173 to the wrong card and did nothing to rectify the situation. Staff was EXTREMELY rude. Female waitress cussed and flipped us off while sticking her nasty tounge out as we were leaving and said "Glad yall had a horrible night." Please fire every single worker and rehire. This is a JOKE of a restaurant.

Don't get the lobster claws. Unless you like pistol shrimp size claws!!! I think next time I'll just make crab legs and lobster at my home.

Sarah and Lynn were amazing!!!! Great service. Food was tasty! Amazing choice of drinks. We loved love potion number 9. We were surprised we got souvenirs glasses.

Our Joe's Crab Shack closed, so we were happy to see this one open. They had all the typical ocean decor that's fun to look at. We had fish, shrimp, and crab legs. All were very good. The service was not great unfortunately. There was a language barrier which made our waitress struggle to get through. Other than that, the experience was a good one.

i got the spicy fried chicken and my family got a sirloin steak and a sea food boil. my dad asked for the steak well done it it came back with blood still coming out. we sent it back to the kitchen and they gave us it well done but when we got it back it had this fishy taste to it. i do not recommend the steak AT ALL. the sea food boil was 50$ and you get a lot of food don't get me wrong but it was terrible it leaves this taste in your mouth like a spoiled taste. it was disappointing to say the least an to top it all of our waitress was HIGH. we will not be coming back to this place ever again.

We stopped not looking at reviews... this is a great place!!!!! We will come more!!!!! Don't believe reviews it's great!!!! We came and love beer and shrimp and crab nachos!!

We had a wonderful experience for our valentines weekend. We enjoyed it so much the first night with chante that we came back the next day and met our new waitress Sarah . They both made our experience that much better

We came here for some quick seafood after a long but fun day at the beach. Considering our haggard appearance, we opted for a more casual atmosphere. I had the Snow crab boil with cajun flavoring. Here is how it went: The Good: - server was awesome and very attentive - food options were varied with something for just about everyone, even a diabetic watching carbs - kid's menu had a lot of options, more than just the normal mac 'n cheese or chicken fingers; the younglings could order crab if they wanted! - decorations covered a wide range of sea-themed items and fit the style of a beach shack; great for playing "I spy" with little kids while you wait for food - great playground out front for kids - short wait at 4 o'clock pm on the Saturday before Memorial Day - snow crab boil was tasty and they included a good quantity of snow crab instead of the fillers; sausage was flavorful and spicy - lots of parking on site The Not So Good: - I know it is seafood, but the prices were high; I've paid the same price for much higher quality food/ambiance/service at other seafood restaurants - front staff wasn't as friendly as the server - restrooms could have been cleaner - while my food was delicious, and portion size was good, it wasn't fabulous Bottom Line: This is a good place if you are looking for tasty, faster seafood with a casual atmosphere, but go someplace else if you are looking for high quality.

Worst seafood experience ever. The $70.00 crab meal came out in a plastic bag. The crab was so squishy in the shell that I could wrap the crab leg around my finger, in the shell! I never return food but I couldn't stomach the smell so she offered to take it and bring me another. The second batch was worse. I honestly think they took the first batch and added more salt and microwaved it as it was more soggy. The entire meal was 138.00 for two people with 1 mixed drink. We didn't eat the crab as the strong fishy smell was too concerning. We left feeling totally ripped off and will never go to a Joe's Crab Shack again. It's sad because they used to be reliable for decent crab.

slow waiter, charged us twice, threw away our to go food, waiter yelled "glad yall had a horrible night" then proceeded to flip us off while sticking her tounge out at us.

Our server Milly was absolutely outstanding! We had the snow classic seafood boil and the food was amazing! Our server Milly was so sweet, caring, and friendly. Will definitely be coming back here again.

My wife's favorite crab eatery. I had the fish and chips. I do not like crabs. The place was clean and the food was good. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

As usual the food was delicious and service was nice and fast. Had queen crab legs that were fat and sweet.

We had a party of 6. The service from Bianca was top notch and the food was delicious and came out quickly.

As a local, I should have tried harder to convince my visitors to choose a different seafood restaurant. The service was slow enough that we had apps coming out with our meals. We had to ask repeatedly for drinks. At one point we went to the bar for our drinks. Spinach dip was puddled with oil kicked off the disappointing meal. 2 hours and almost $400 later, EPICALLY DISSATISFIED. Quantity of guests should not hinder the quality of experience.

Joe's crab shack was a good place to eat. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was very relaxing. We love that they had a playground for our little one to play until the food came out. Our food was delicious, definitely would consider coming back!

Only positive thing is our server was great! She was hustling and restaurant was completely under staffed.

Diners can expect the same quality seafood that makes Joes's Crab Shack a favorite for casual dining and celebratory meals. The service was friendly and fast. A shout out to our Brittyn for outstanding service. Given the restaurants popularity, expect a wait during peak hours and weekends.

We made a reservation to sit outside. Got seated inside, then waited 20min for the waitress to show up. Ordered 2 drinks, they took 1hr and 10min to come. When we ordered food she came back 20min after we ordered to let us know she just got our order in (clearly forgot to put the order in) and then it took 45 more min to actually get our food. Food was ok, service was just horrendous.

The food was okay. Our waiter, the male with 2 earrings was terrible. He left us thirsty and didn't even check in. The bathroom wasn't clean. Not good.

Place was not too busy, seated right away. Adrian was our server , very upbeat and friendly. He checked on us frequently and got our order right 1st time. The menu had a variety to choose from. We ordered an appetizer which was a cup of clam chowder soup. The soup was really delicious and I wish I had gotten a bowl. I ordered a crab and cheese dip which was very good. My husband ordered crab, cheese and shrimp nachos. He said that there was not enough of anything except the tortilla chips. The ambiance was old but it served its purpose of an eatery. My first time in Destin and my first time visiting Joes Crab Shack. The service was great

Don't bother eating at this location. The food is fine but Robert, the manager on duty allowing a family with four kids to LITERALLY run around their table high pitch screaming. No problem with families dining with kids but, could not believe what was happening & could not even have a conversation over the screaming. Ruined our last evening in town. No apology from Robert and no compensation. Our waitress, however was wonderful and apologetic.

Servers Leslie and Tasha where great, food was great, dining area and bathroom where clean.

We felt like the food and the service were okay. There is nothing to rush back to. I did enjoy all the memorabilia around the restaurant. A lot of historical memories, if you're from the cost.

Here visiting from Houston and will come back again! Food was excellent, no complaints here. Our server Adrianna was on point, very friendly and attentive!

Our waitress was wonderful and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and family inviting. Everyone enjoyed the food. We only waited about 35 minutes which is great for June vacation time.

This would be my second time I went there first time was excellent but the second time I ordered the New Orleans on the seafood pots the New Orleans comes with queen, crab, shrimp, black muscles, corn potatoes, but when the food got to the table and I opened it up, there was one cluster of snow crab, where the queen should be. I asked the manager, who was standing behind my table for the menu to make sure that it wasn't a mistake on my part and confirmed it I asked the manager who was still standing there. I thought that and and your menu said that the New Orleans come with Queen shrimp and muscles. He looked at my pot and told me that the queen was coming in kind of small and that was queen now I'm not stupid man and I don't know who he was trying to fool, but it didn't work on me my son that was sitting next to me had a whole platter of snow and it was the exact same crab I know what queen crab looks like so he straight up, lied to me, and tried to pass it off as queen. I sent it back and didn't order anything else because of his dishonesty I wonder who else he played the same trip on and got away with if you go there make sure you get what you ordered
