This quaint pizza place has the best pizza in West Texas! It’s next to a grocery store so lots of parking. Definitely worth the trip. Bring cash and be ready to eat! The salads are delicious too!

I had to have a procedure done and wasn't allowed to eat for about 40 hours and when I came to I knew I wanted Joe's Pizza ! We got the 20" with pepperoni, bacon, jalapenos, onion and extra cheese. If you love NY style pizza this is the place for you. Crispy crust, tons of toppings and ooey gooey cheese. I mean look at it! It barely fits in the box. Fantastic food and amazing people. Oh shoot can't forget the ranch! 1 think I could eat the ranch by itself! Anyway 10/10 always. (Pizza is a supreme 20" that comes with up to 8 topping for $25.50)

Google
Joe’s Pizza is amazing. Pizza is huge and tasty. One slice is about 3-4 slices on an avg. pizza. The Seafood pasta is amazing. The cannoli and cheesecake tastes super good! All the workers are happy and have amazing customer service. One of the best pizza spots in Abilene, give it a try!

David Chang

Google
This place serves good pizza and pastas. The stuffed pizza is not something you'll see everywhere. The slices of pizza is bigger here compare to other places. Really like their seafood combo 2. Lots of seafood with great Alfredo sauce. My wife almost lick the container clean. Too bad just here for a visit or this would be a place that I come often.

Ray Martinez

Google
Been living in Abilene for 4 years, i do not know why i did not try this place before until today. Pizza is delicious, perfect crust/sauce/cheese ratio, and big pizza. Definitely going to be my new pizza place going forward.

If you're hungry, go somewhere else. We thought it would be a quick 20 - 30 min wait for our food. We didn't order a lot, a large pizza, fried cheese and foccacia. It took OVER AN HOUR to get our food, and it turns out they forgot about our order! We were patient and waited until it hit the hour mark. Then we came back up to ask what's taking so long to which they go "oh, oops yours has been ready. We just forgot to call it" so not only did we wait a ridiculously long amount of time, our food was also barely warm!! To add salt to the wound, they didn't apologize about the wait. Just handed the food and went on to the next person. I hope the warm-ish food is worth the wait. Because this was unacceptable. They also add extra fees (a "transparency fee" of almost 4% for what?? I don't know) Edit: after eating, the food was indeed not fresh minus the foccacia. The fried cheese didn't string at all and was mostly cold, the same goes for the pizza. The hottest (temp wise) item was the marinara dip. The crust is very chewy, like very chewy, so you're going to feel too tired to keep chewing after the first slice of pizza. Its also very very greasy (and cold / cooling grease does NOT taste very good). It probably would have had better taste had it been fresh out, but sadly I didn't get the pleasure of that experience.

Google
Amazing! Hadn't been since 2016 and when driving through Abilene it was an absolute must stop. The food is delicious, the atmosphere and employees make it even better.

Google
Awesome food and great service! My friend told me about Joe's pizza so I drove an hour and a half just to give it a try and it was worth it! They have a huge menu with plenty of food to choose from. I had the stuffed meat pizza, which was hot and fresh. It was filled completely with different meat options and so much cheese. Highly recommend you give Joe's a stop!

Yelp
We have been frequenting Alec and His lovely wife's restraint since the day it opened . The food has always been amazingly delicious with very large portions . Red wine vinaigrette is the house dressing . Since opening they continue to keep the venue interesting and add things from time to time. We like everything on the menue. The service is always impressively friendly and the area pretty fast for a cook to order family restraint. Ambiance: with murels of venice and New York on the walls , you get the " New York" Italian style food vibe . Its hard to believe they are not Italian lol. Come on in, sit down , tell them Frank from New York sent you. Ask them " hows the veel ?

Yelp
Time to update! Joe's is still my favorite Italian in Abilene. This husband and wife team consistently put out great food day after day. If I'm after pasta, the Chicken Murphy is my go to. It's the perfect spicy for me. A large Supreme pizza is my favorite take home item. If I'm dining in, combo #3 is my winner. One HUGE slice of pizza, salad, and drink for $10. Winner! In fact, that was my lunch today! Thanks again for great food and service.

Lowell P.

Yelp
Outstanding flavor. Chicken Alfredo and Murphy were perfectly cooked. Don't pass up great Italian food here. Service was excellent!

Yelp
It's taken me a while to give them a review, but it's definitely a spot I'd recommend. I consider this style to be mall style pizza so fresh, hot, greasy with a light crust! Really that kinda pizza that's truly PIZZA. I'm personally usually a artisan wood fired pizza kinda gal and this isn't that, but I love Joe's! Their ranch is delicious, thin and obviously housemade. Only complaint is that they aren't open longer in the evenings. If you want Joe's, you'll have to come before 7pm. Service is always great and it's clean inside!

Douglas D.

Yelp
BIG Pizzas. We thought we were getting a snack ordering a large pepperoni. It was huge, cheesy, and wonderful.

Kavina K.

Yelp
Yummy pizzas and great price! Definitely recommend friends and family to go here and will go back to try their pastas and lasagna.

Blaine E.

Yelp
The pizza and salad with the house dressing is what I ate here and it was absolutely delicious with that real NY Italian taste. It was great! Some of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend Joe's Pizza! You won't be disappointed.

Beth C.

Yelp
It's great food! I highly recommend Joes and have for years! Joes on Buffalo Gap is not related to the one across town.

Yelp
Not too big dining area, but cozy. Been coming here since the beginning of time it seems. Mom n Pop pizzeria and Italian cuisine. I usually get the sausage calzone or Stromboli. But the lasagna, cheese tortellini and piccata and other traditional dishes are pretty dRn good too and LOVE the house rolls and house dressing. And my all means don't forget the cannoli! The staff is usually pretty good and if you get the owns, they are always nice and polite, as if they want you to feel like family! If you have a bad experience here, it's definitely a 'one off' or you are just an a$$ and no place is good :-p

Josh J.

Yelp
Great pizza!! New York style is a great pick! Will definitely make this a routine place!

Sarilly V.

Yelp
Never misses! Everything there is always perfect. Best place to get pizza in Abilene. Stuffed meat pizza/Strombolis/calzones are amazing. You have GOT to try their salad with house dressing. I don't know what it is about the dressing, but it's the best I have ever had in a restaurant.

Yelp
Growing up in the Northeast I was blessed with some of the best pizza on this planet NY, NJ, PA. I didn't eat pizza for over 3 years after moving to TX...all were pretty disgusting. Settled in Austin and the pizza is so so. Stopped at Joe's while in town and was extremely surprised. This is the best pizza that I have ever had in all of TX. The dough, the sauce, the mozzarella all make it perfection. Forget the rest...only eat the best! Joe's Pizza
google avatar

Carly T.

Yelp
Awesome NY style pizza! HUGE slices and never stingy on any portion sizes with their vast array of pasta, sandwiches, calzones, etc etc. If I had to list a con, it'd be that they're always soooo busy...but that just lets you know how dang good they consistently are!!
google avatar

Cristan H.

Yelp
We love joes get it all the time and love that it stays open late! It comes in handy when you are a nurse getting off work late and don't want to cook! I recommend the penne vodka with chicken!
google avatar

Missy B.

Yelp
Their lasagna used to fill the pan they made it in. Then, for a while they used a slightly smaller pan but it was well filled. Today I had my order delivered and I became very disappointed in their lasagna. They went back to the original pan but the lasagna has become very small and shallow. I will not order their lasagna again and since that's my favorite, unsure about ordering there anymore.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Pizza ok. Service ok. Not the most friendly. Food just ok. We probably will not be coming back here again.

Rebecca E.

Yelp
Absolutely has been my favorite place for pizza, calzones, pastas, and a good side salad for years! Absolutely love Joe's!
google avatar

Alionka C.

Yelp
Great spot with food for everyone, kids to adults! Was looking for a place to eat on our way back from Colorado and the reviews on this place didn't disappoint. Various menu and delicious food. We ordered pasta and honestly it was a 5 star dish. And the complimentary bread served before the food arrived was fresh and baked to perfection. Many thanks to the staff, we loved your food, and loved watching you making pizza!
google avatar

Kym M.

Yelp
Love their pizza. It's always delicious and I love the huge pizza size. it's a traditional pie and so yummy. Definitely recommend ! It's been our staple durWe go

Jim B.

Yelp
Great Big pizza and a great family, absolutely love this place and supporting them rather than dominos or Pizza Hut

Joe M.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in Abilene. Locally owned by a wonderful family who supports their community. Food is outstanding- everything I have ordered here is delicious! The chicken roll and stuffed meat pizza are my faves although the pepperoni calzone is not far behind. As far as pasta goes, the chicken Marsala and chicken cremora mushroom are amazing. Good salads, great deserts and great pizza! Prices are very good, service is always excellent. If you don't eat here you're missing out!
google avatar

Katy M.

Yelp
This is okay. But the unfriendly customer service and the WAAAAY too long of a wait Time is just not worth it. JOES on Treadaway is. Whole different company

Arend B.

Yelp
Family owned business, Alex and Alma have always gave us a warm welcome every time we have been there for dinner or lunch. The food is made from scratch, thats why it always smells so rich and always tests amazing. My favorite dishes stuffed meat, the calzones, chicken alfredo pizza, chicken piccata pretty much everything lol. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO GO AND VISIT!!!

Ed T.

Yelp
My first visit was yesterday and everything was excellent. A family business with hard working folks in there. It was crazy busy but they handled it well and that's what you can expect from the best pizza place in town. Definitely recommend and this is our new pizza & pasta joint.

Marie M.

Yelp
I had the chicken Murphy, it's amazing. It will become a regular. We have been eating here for years and I switched up my order. I absolutely love this "new to me" dish. I'll be branching out more. I have not been disappointed. The pizzas are great as well.

Tiff W.

Yelp
I came and got 2 salad yesterday and a drink was quoted my price was 27.00 and my card was charged 30.00 and it was a to go order !!! I won't be back
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
Great pizza but they don't wear masks so you might get covid. So if you're willing to take that risk go for it. Personally, I'd wait until you're vaccinated.
google avatar

Frank T.

Yelp
We have always loved Joes since it opened. I was raised on real Italian food and have been to Italy many times. Alex and his wife run a tight ship. The food is always perfect. They even make their own red wine vinaigrette salad dressing. They have Greek Gyro meal, seafood pasta all the Italian dishes , deserts and the Veal is to die for! Place is clean ,owners very nice . We drive 30 miles just to eat there at LEAST once a week. Tell them Frank the sheep and Goat farmer From Nee York sent you!!!
google avatar

K P.

Yelp
Was in town for work and a colleague recommended this place. They've got a lot of Italian options, and the chicken piccata was great.

Adryana S.

Yelp
Only pizza place in Abilene We will consistently go! Buffalo Gap is the best one!! Huge, great price always yummy
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Only had the stuffed pizza and marinara and both are excellent. I'm definitely going to try their other items soon!
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Very good Italian food. The pizza is hit or miss - sometimes cooked to perfection, filled with toppings and other times it is mostly sauce. The garlic bread is amazing and is why I keep going back. The service could be better; it too is hit or miss.
google avatar

William E.

Yelp
My wife loves this place. They know her order whenever we come in. Food is great and at a great price. I like to change it up but she gets the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Our kids devour the garlic rolls. The family that owns this place is really nice.
google avatar

J. M.

Yelp
Great pizza. Best in town. The stromboli is very good as are the calzones. The service is great and a friendly staff
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
I thought $26 for 6 slices of Pizza was a little high . The place was clean but very dated. Customer service was lacking - not rude but just not welcoming . I can't say we will go back but they did seem to have a lot of locals in for dinner .

Yelp
Joe is smart. Who ever Joe is or assuming there is a Joe. It may be Hector or Billy Bob just posing as a Joe. Joe has Abilene Texas belieiving this is a New York Pizzeria and it is to some extent. I mean there is bad pizza in New York too. Joe's reminds me of Mo's on the Westbank of New Orleans to some degree as their are ginormous pies and calzones sitting under a heat lamp as soon as you walk to the counter. This is so you can get a luke warm slice with the quickness. The quickness is never a good thing. I knew to order a whole pie because it would be made fresh and that's always better, except this wasn't. So Joe isn't like Mo either. We ordered a large half cheese and half pepperoni pie then waited, and waited and waited. I didn't mind the wait knowing this means they were making it fresh. I mean Mario or Joe or Billy Bob or someone was throwing dough in the air when I walked in. Well when it got to the table, it looked really good. I took 1 bite and was IMMEDIATELY dissapointed. The cheese was not stringy at all. This in my experience signifies cheap bad quality cheese. Then it wasn't cooked. I was eating raw dough. The bottom wasn't crisp and the taste of raw dough over powered whatever falvor the pizza should have had. My intention was to eat a few slices then have leftovers for my drive home in the morning but I couldn't eat anymore. In fairness they were very busy so I'm sure my pizza was an anomaly. If i lived close by I'd give them another shot just to see but it's definitely not a top not pizzeria.

Yelp
Amazing service first of all. They want above and beyond to make sure that I was more than satisfied. The young man even brought the order out me because it was ready earlier than expected. The pizza is huge as you can tell by my picture. I bought it to feed the staff at the hospital that I was training at and it was more than enough for the amount of people that I had. I ordered the lasagna for myself and it is delicious the sauce was freshly made and everything tasted amazing. The only thing Iwould have changed was the cheese would have been a little bit more Brown but the crust was cooked to perfection. It was crispy, it wasn't doughy, and it had a great flavor. the only reason it's not a five-star is because I was born and raised in Chicago and I have high, high standards for pizza. That being said this was delicious.

Yelp
We ordered food from here for pick up and left our name and number with the order because we have a newborn baby girl and her grandma was visiting. When my husband drove and went to pick up they said they had no order from us when I literally have their number in my call log and gave them our information. What terrible service we will never eat here again.
google avatar

Curt C.

Yelp
Pizza wasn't anything great. It was uncomfortable warm in the seating area, several others with me noticed that also. Cant say ill go back here

Karl K.

Yelp
I got awful food poisoning from here. Just got a regular pizza and it must of been contaminated. Never coming back here again!
google avatar

Elise W.

Yelp
This pizza is so good. The crust is very fresh and authentic and they have a nice little salad bar. Portions are huge! A single slice is as big as the plate. They also have a lunch special which in not sure if they still do... But it was a great price for pizza slice & salad. The bread rolls are great too if you order them as an appetizer. Not sure if they still have cherry coke at the fountain machine but I always enjoyed that too!! Joe is really nice and he will remember you if you go in often :) try it out!
google avatar

Scotty M.

Yelp
Consistently the best Italian food in town! Forget the chain places and find Joe's. You will not be disappointed. Great staff and always friendly. I still can't figure out if all the Joe's are connected in some way. But, nonetheless, always Joe's!!!
google avatar

Raymond D.

Yelp
Favorite place to eat when I come to Abilene. Being from the north I know good pizza and it is pretty hard to find. Joe's is spot on and the customer service is great on top of that.

Marc M.

Yelp
Went to Joe's Pizza. At first we were going to order a large supreme pizza. Unfortunately there were a lot of people ahead of us and it was going to take a while for our pizza to be made. The cashier recommended that we get a couple of slices of the stuffed supreme pizza instead. It was a great recommendation. The stuffed supreme pizza was awesome!!
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Good pizza well worth the price. Opens early too which is awesome. Never had a bad experience coming here
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
Joe's Pizza has an authentic Italian-American feel to it, from the décor to the kitchen staff. The pizza itself is good, not incredible, but it's good. However, the pizza's quality is not why I give this restaurant a 5-star rating. The massive portion sizes and the incredible value are absolutely unparalleled in today's restaurants. If you're looking for a place to chow down on some good pizza for a cheap price, look no further.
google avatar

Kelsey D.

Yelp
What an awesome surprise while passing through Abilene. I grew up close to NYC, so I'm definitely a pizza snob and can be pretty skeptical of claims of good pizza in Texas. With that said, this was some of the best pizza and pasta, (penne alla vodka and a slice of plain cheese), that I've had in Texas. Highly recommend, especially if you like New York style pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
Have you ever noticed how the size of large pizza has shrunk. I mean the size of a Pizza Hut large today, is not much bigger then a small was 20 years ago. Well, that is not the case at Joe's. Joe's makes a large stuffed pizza that is so big, that most people cannot finish one piece. I once fed 6 people on a single large stuffed pizza and still had about a third of it left. Joe's Pizza is a little different in that the red sauce is served separate. This allows you to use as much or as little red sauce as you want. Joe's does not skimp on toppings. Sometimes the toppings in his stuffs pizza are so much, I often wonder how he can make any money at the prices he charges. Of course he serves pizza by the slice for those who don't want to buy a whole 6 pound pizza. The bottom line is, Joe's is a great Pizza place and it is something different from you run of the mill pizza places and chain places. Try it! You will like it.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Their chicken Veneto is by far a house favorite! The staff is always welcoming. It takes a minute to receive your food (hence four stars)but I like to think they're making it with love and attention.
