Joe’s Pizza on Sunset is just one of those places that never lets you down. If you’ve lived in LA long enough, you know there are about a thousand places claiming to be the “best slice in the city,” but Joe’s doesn’t shout—it just delivers. I came in once for a quick bite and ended up going back three times in the same week. That should tell you something.
Their BBQ chicken pizza is low-key addictive. The crust is perfectly crisp but still has that nice chew to it, and the BBQ sauce hits just the right balance between tangy and sweet. Big chunks of juicy chicken, just the right amount of cheese, and a little green onion—chef’s kiss. But the sleeper hit for me is the Mom’s Pizza. It’s got a rustic feel to it, almost like something your friend’s Italian mom would pull out of the oven. Tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil doing exactly what they’re supposed to do.
It’s casual, it’s fast, it’s friendly. Not trying to be fancy, just good pizza done right. Whether you’re grabbing a slice late or taking a whole pie home, Joe’s has earned its spot in the LA pizza scene.
