A good time, new and old game options, upstairs billiards tables and air hockey too. Attached ice cream stand and amazing views from the billiards tables, the tables are a bit aged as some things are here, as it has been a Salisbury staple for oh so many years, still a good time and grateful for their efforts.

This was our first time here!! What a fun arcade! It has a great mix of new games and more vintage games. It’s pretty big inside so even when it’s crowded, there’s plenty of space. We put $50 on a card for our family of 5 and it actually took a lot longer to use it all up than I anticipated. Everyone got to play everything they wanted. The prize counter was typical of any type of arcade. There is even a snack counter where you can purchase ice cream, drinks, fudge and salt water taffy. Fun way to spend an afternoon at the beach!

Google
1st time taking my granddaughter to the arcade,, she was to excited, very overwhelmed, had scattered brain syndrome and wouldn't pay attention to anything I was saying and I just have to say ❗THANK YOU ❗ she(we) had a blast and now we have a twice a month "Arcade Night" and we're making core memories ❤️❤️

Google
Fun for all ages!! I mean 3 generations can have a blast here. It wasn't cold at all, only outside ;-) Staff is great, nothing was broken, and I took no prisoners at pinball!

Google
Awesome playland, stacked with lots of fun games and machines that will keep you busy for a couple of hours. The upper level has pool tables, air hockey and other arcade machines plus a area for birthday parties which is very convenient located with an awesome view of the ocean. You can use quarters or buy card credits ,kids love them, easy to use and you avoid running around with change in their hands. Enjoy!!

Google
The three of us put 60 on a card and played we were surprised how long it was able to last. We have a blast fudge was amazing and great prices. Saw someone eating pizza looks and smelled amazing

Google
Been going here since I was a kid. Still one of my favorite arcades and bring my own kids here now. Great location, especially during the summer months.

Google
I love this place I've been going here for the last 50 years and it is like the best like I'm always like a kid when I go there

Yelp
Employees are always friendly. Good selection of games & prizes. Are go to fun spot with the kids in the summer & school vacations

Yelp
Although I usually enjoy arcades that use tokens instead of cards this Arcade seemed pretty cool. Much bigger than i remembered and everything seemed to be clean and functional. I didn't feel like adding money on a card to play but wanted to do a walkthrough. I found Galaga had a credit so I played a free game. Joystick worked great too. I was surprised at how nice everything looked inside, i might pop back in someday but Funspot is the sane distance away from me and uses Tokens still. Not to mention Funspot games are $0.25 or $0.50 for pinball. Joes pinball was 4 credits for comparison but they did have a nice Aerosmith pinball machine that looked Mint.

Yelp
I went there mainly for the vintage games upstairs, to my disappointment that section was closed.. I am hoping it's not permanent. I then headed to Hampton Beach, they had an upstairs section of vintage games, but to my horror it is now a casino..guess I'll never be going to Hampton again

Yelp
Always for for the family at joes. Old and new games to make it fun for all ages. My grandparents loved it and so did I!!!!

Yelp
Joe's Playland is so much fun for kids and adults. So many cute games for little ones and rides. We have been coming for years with 3 generations of family. We love Salisbury Beach and the center is improving and expanding.

Yelp
overall wouldn't recommend. smells quite bad. very poor quality concessions. some of the games are broken. hours are pretty good.

Sean B.

Yelp
Best arcade around. Awesome games. Awesome staff. Awesome location. All sorts of arcade games, new and old. All the classic consoles (especially upstairs) but great modern games, too. Skee-ball, air hockey. This place rules.

Yelp
Joe's Playland.....more like Joe your a lifesaver! Vacation at the beach and it rained everyday . Lucky we came to Joe's located right on the boardwalk. Tons of games to play for the kids or little kid in you. Some games even win you tickets to exchange for prizes. We were here for a good two hours or so. Kids walked away with a pink stuffed baby shark do do d do and A fluffy purple weenie dog.

Kristin M.

Yelp
we hosted our daughters 7th Birthday Party at Joes and it was awesome. Sandy and her team had the room set up for us upon arrival, everything was clean and we had our own separate bathroom. we enjoyed pizza from Tripolis and the kids had such a blast! All we had to do was bring the cupcakes! The room was cleaned up once we packed up. Cant say enough good things about Joe's party package. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Been coming here for over 30 years, always look forward to the new games and also play our favorite retro ones. A few steps from the ocean, Joes Playground provides many ticket games along with a good selection of pinball games and retro favorites. There is something for the whole family. You can also enjoy fudge, ice cream and other refreshments as you enter the arcade. Just a heads up, they don't have a public restroom.

T M.

Yelp
Rude staff... they don't know how to speak to adults or children. A staff member pushed my child several times. When I went in to ask what happened when my children were in there he swore Amex yelled in our faces. I would never allow my children to give any business to this place or any places associated with it! What a shady operation They claim to be kid friendly they are anything but kid friendly

Gabby D.

Yelp
I was with my mixed bf tonight and we were having fun at Joe's Playland olaying The games. Me and my bf noticed two coworkers following only me and him around. They were constantly staring and only stopped when I looked at them. It was extremely rude and we were the only people they were doing that too. one them was even at the door while we were heading out and watched us walk away. I will never be going back here as it was extremely uncomfortable and rude!

Yelp
Memories, man. Tickets. Glorious, glorious tickets. Grab 'em by the armful, count them up, win amazing prizes. Only childhood could render out the sheer exhilaration of taking home that giant stuffed animal, blissfully ignorant of the several hundred dollars of your parents' money that it took to acquire it. Roll-a-ball games, skill games, mini basketball, SKEE-BALL... only a father can teach skee ball technique... and I will do the same when I am a father. The arcade is a hard business to sustain these days. But give Joe's credit for doing their damndest in this tiny New England beach town. Fun for the whole family, even if it's hust you and your wife.

Yelp
Game was broken, ate coins and malfunctioned, and staff members were rude and ignored us telling about it. Also machines didn't have the number of coins needed to play marked on them.

Cailey L.

Yelp
Rude old women employee. Drove an hour to come here because everywhere online says they close at six. If you have a closing time you stick to it. And instead of saying "im sorry we are closing early" she told me where the door was half an hour before they closed. She was beyond rude, impolite, and crude and does not belong at an arcade where kids of all ages want to have fun. I have gone here for years before closing and never have been spoken to so rudely. She ruined my experience just to close probably five minutes early. I called at 5:40 & 5:50 so see if they really did close once I left and nope they were open/ answering the phone. Would have loved to been told nicely they were closing early for no reason and had two minutes to finish the game I was playing while they cleaned up and closed. I wish I could use such worse words to describe this because this experience was unreasonable from a business. If anyone cares about their customers they will fire this employee as I walked by many other employees a minute before she told me to leave & the other employees smiled and did not say anything about closing early.

Yelp
Ive been going to Joes Playland arcade for about 5 years, I enjoy playing some of the classic games there such as Ms. Pac-Man, Galage, Road Blasters, and Cenepede. Joes playland has some great ticket games as the old school bingo, skee ball, and poker machine games. Some of the newest games there are Deal or No Deal, Wheel of Fortune, Bat-Man, Fast & Furious, and Wizard of Oz pinball. One thing that I've noticed is that the upstairs room in the arcade is never open, which has some great games such as Donkey Kong JR., Double Dragon, Mario Bros., Super Pacman, Qbert, pool tables and air hockey tables. I'm not sure why the upstairs is not open, but i'm sure a good crowd of people would like to play some of the old, classic video games, or even move some of the old games to the lower level of the arcade. This is a fun place to go to in salsbury beach and it is open year round.

Yelp
Was in the area with my four-year-old and boyfriend, so we decided to head over there and play some games. We had a great time and there were so many games to choose from. After that we got some pizza and it was great as well. We will be back once the weather is warmer!

Yelp
I have been coming to this Arcade since I was a kid & now I go with my child (it makes me feel old)... I dont think its ever changed, the same people work there & they have all the same staple games that they had (Skeeball, Pinballs, The Claw, Photo Booths)... Im sure theres soo many other games, I just dont play any others... I actually know that they have several up-to-date games because the BF plays those... I actually cant find him for hours because he is stuck on games... You get 80$ worth of tickets to find out you can get 1 slinky & 2 Tootsie Rolls... Like seriously, should the tickets ratio to gifts have changed with the Cost of Living?!?! I mean really - I would love for my son to get somthing other than a pencil or candy after spending all the money that I do there... But loving the Salisbury is always MUCH quieter than Hampton means that I will have to endure crappy prizes & too hot arcades...

Yelp
Joe's Playland is the leftover anchor from what used to be a much more extensive Salisbury Beach experience. Gone are the days of the Dime Game, Fruit Game, and all of the other boardwalk games as well as several other arcades along the strip that have succumbed to the test of time and/or more options for people looking to have a fun family weekend afternoon. Fortunately, however, Joe's hasn't changed (at least not in a bad way). It's all here - skee-ball, Bing-o-Reno, arcade games, driving games, the prize counter, and good eats. It's a great way to spend an afternoon - though if you don't like crowds, the winter is definitely the time to go...you may not have the whole place to yourself, but it'll be close. Here's hoping Joe's is there for another 50 years. There are not enough places like this left...support the ones that still exist.

Yelp
Every time I come here a wave of nostalgia sweeps over me, like a tidal wave crashing onto the beach sand. Ironically which is located less than 50 feet from this arcade. Need some more excitement? There's also Go Karts and a Ferris wheel right across from it. Plenty of food options. The arcade is what matters though, great games, nice staff and a lot of prizes to be won. 5 stars because like I said I'm a sucker for nostalgia.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh, Joe's. Many years of my life and many of my summer job earnings went right into your machines. Go here for Skeeball. It rocks. The machines are super old and, for some reason, the balls are not spheres, but have bumps and holes in them. But, it's super fun and you can win cheap crap. What's better than that??!?!? Plus, they have ice cream with JIMMIES (not sprinkles, everyone) on them.
google avatar

Yelp
Ah, Joe's Playland. So many memories coming down here as a kid, and everytime I come in there today makes me feel like a kid again. The arcade itself has a bit of everything for people to enjoy such as pinball, racing games (especially Daytona USA, I love that game to death), kiddie rides, classic retro arcade games from the 70's through the 90's, several photo booths, and also TONS of ticket games. I also find it a bit funny that some people complain that the prizes cost too much. I've definitely seen a fair share of many other arcades that charge WAY more for their prizes, plus also only heave a small selection of stuff to choose from. Joe's probably has the BIGGEST selection of tickets prizes compared to every other arcade I've been to, and I've seen people walk out with all sorts of different prizes from there. Combine a fun day at the arcade with some beach pizza and/or fried dough right next to it and it's already a beach day to remember. Oh, but how could I forget to mention the ice cream that Joe's has as well? They have a great selection of treats for everyone there, like soft serve Ice cream, fudge, bottled drinks, cotton candy, candy apples, HOMEMADE CARAMEL CORN (I could eat it endlessly, it's SOOOOO good.) Oh yeah, and last but not least they serve Frappes as well. They make by far the best chocolate frappe you'll ever have in my opinion, so get one if you're there at the arcade. Overall, this arcade has always been a big part of my childhood, and I continue to have lots of fun even at 22 today down at Joe's Playland as well as Salisbury Beach.

Yelp
Joe's Playland is by far one of the coolest places in Salisbury. It's a throwback to the classic arcade. It's old school Dave and Busters except it'll only run you 25-50 cents to play a game. After you're done playing games, you can grab a soft serve cone. They have several options for sizes, flavors, and dips. I recommend the root beer float.
google avatar

Yelp
Wanna have a fun afternoon with friends or family? You should definitely take a trip to Joe's Playland in Salisbury, Ma! My friend and I spent $10.00 each and we had two hours worth of fun in the arcade and game rooms. The workers are super friendly and will always help you if you have any questions while you're there. Let the games begin!
google avatar

Jeramy P.

Yelp
We came by the other night and had a great time. The kids were entertained and we got to play lots of pinball and skeeball. What a great way to spend a Saturday evening with the kids.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
The only thing I come here for is air hockey. I'm sort of a fanatic when it comes to air hockey and every now and then I challenge my boy to a few rounds. We head down, grab some Tripoli's Pizza, play a few rounds of air hockey and take a stroll on the beach. Perfect (and wallet-friendly!) mid-week date night if you ask me.
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
How can you not love joes? It's like the only arcade left around. They have a large selection of games to play. You can save tickets for lame expensive prizes. I love the old school bingo roller ball machines (hint: these give 5 point tickets instead of 1 pointers). There are usually a few games out of order. There's a fair amount of old and new things. Salisbury looks like Chernobyl but that's part of its appeal. Plus you don't have to deal with as many dbags as on Hampton.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Sooo many fun memories located within this arcade! Joe's has been here for practically a hundred years giving smiles on kids and adults faces. There are a ton of old school games here and some classic skee ball. They have also added a bunch of newer HD screen games recently. I love that they're open year round! It definitely gives us something to do in the dead of winter when cabin fever starts to set in. Head on over to Joe's, play some games, and definitely make sure to grab a slice of Tripoli's after!!
google avatar

Ron C.

Yelp
The nicest arcade at Salisbury Beach by FAR. They seem to care when there's a problem, which is rare. A great selection of games and pinball machines which have even been updated this year!

Yelp
Make a night of it at Joe's Playland! This is my favorite date spot. Why? Well, you can eat (yeah, both of you) for about 10 bucks-- and eat good. Joe's is located in the Salisbury center right next to Christie's and Tripoli's famous beach pizza, and Happy's amazingly magnificent fried dough. And eating is not the main attraction on this date-- you're at Joe's playland!! Go inside and get competitive. I enjoy kicking bum at Skeeball-- and these are authentic 1940s skeeball machines-- not the plasticy crap ones you see in other new age arcades. I also dominate at Foosball. My boyfriend nearly beat the Mrs. PacMan game, and I believe still holds the record. He also likes Pokerino, a poker themed game where you roll balls into holes marked for certain cards. Some games give tickets, some don't, but either way the prizes up for grabs make your time well spent, if you do play for tickets. They have everything from plush dolls to crock pots. You can buy pizza, sandwiches, cotton candy, ice cream, fudge, and fried dough all inside the arcade. You can also, and most importantly, end your memorable night with an old fashioned strip of photo booth photos. I have tons of them! This is a cheap date, but we've been known to run to the ATM to get more cash for more tokens to keep the fun going.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
A real throwback. This is good fun. They machines where maintained and there was plenty of staff. The place was hopping at night. The ticket thing is such a scam but the kids don't care and either do i. We played skeeball for hours that weekend.

Liz C.

Yelp
This place is classic. I'm a grown-ass adult, and I still get giddy when I win tickets here. You've got skee-ball, bubble hockey, Playboy pinball, air hockey, Bingo- and Poker-eno, plus all the old vintage arcade games & pool upstairs. And, people that complain about broken games... u serious bro? These games are old as hell, and do you know how many beach-goers with ice cream-sticky hands slam the buttons on these on a daily basis? Any time I have encountered a problem, it's easy to just grab one of the attendants on the floor, and they fix it / refund your money / give you free tickets. You can spend quite a bit of time here for a fistful of quarters, and walk out with a chinese finger trap and a few tootsie rolls. What's better than that? Besides maybe a victory in bubble hockey.
google avatar

Sydney L.

Yelp
I've been going to Joe's since the late 70's, early 80's, when I was in high school. A lot has changed at Salisbury Beach, including the crowd. However, the beach is still nice and when the waves are big, it's hard to top it! Over the past 30 years, I've probably spent the equivalent of a mortgage payment at Joe's but it's nice to see a small piece of the old Salisbury experience still going strong. Unlike Salem Willows where they've basically taken out all the old games, Joe's still has some left. They've mixed in a lot of dollar games now, which make us parents' money go a lot quicker! Still a cool place though and I hope it stays open another 100 years!
google avatar

C B.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was little and I still like it. Theirs games for all ages I especially love the Bingo and Pokerino with the balls. The goofy race car game u roll the ball we play with 4 people in my family (I always win and miss fastest time by 1 sec!!!). Big Bertha wasn't blowing up today but other than that most games were working. I also love the air hockey and pool tables upstairs but wish it was air conditioned or at least effective fans as it gets pretty hot in there.
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Tucked away in the far corner is the best paintball game ever created, The Wizard of Oz by Jersey Jack pinball. No one knows it's here though so shhhh. We'll keep it our little secret. I've been taking my family here for 20 years and I absolutely love Joe's Playland. It was our sunday. We would go to the beach for the day and then head to Joe's. Beach pizza @ Tripoli next, go-carts and Dairy Queen. The kids are all older now but the tradition will carry on with my first grand baby coming soon. Thank you to the family run business. You have given me and my 5 kids many great memories.
google avatar

Blake B.

Yelp
I hadn't played skew ball in probably over a decade. I went in expecting everything to cost at least a dollar per game but the skee ball was still just a quarter. My girlfriend and I played two games each and walked away with twenty tickets, which we cashed in for a red-hot candy and two green plastic army men.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Super place! Loved it. Tons of arcade machines old and new, games and all that stuff. Most games seemed to be 25c or 50c not bad. Both locations were great. The best parts being the Vintage B+W PHOTOBOOTH and Good Luck TYPER TOKENS!!!! Both of these keepsakes are quickly becoming extinct. and it is a true treat to get some photos with your friends or special someone or a typer token to commemorate your trip. Very cool! The saltwater taffy was great and the light traffic getting in and out of Sals beach was not bad at all! I will be back keep that photo-booth in action!
google avatar

Ms. Review S.

Yelp
Joe's Playland is a fun place to visit in Salisbury. $10.00 will get you a decent amount of time playing skee ball or the game of your choice. The prizes are pretty cheesy. We gave our tickets to some little kids.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Arcade! Old school. Right on the beach...everything nearby and the kids love this place. This kind of place is rare and dying but they do a great business. Fun for kids from 8-80!!

Mellissa B.

Yelp
It has a ton of games. It fun and convenient to the beach. Loads ro keep you busy. Only negative...really noisey and no bathroom onsite. Staff was friendly
google avatar

Chris Q.

Yelp
How could you not love this place? Trashy looking people sinking an entire paycheck into Wheel Em and Deal Em so they can get a $45 vacuum cleaner that costs 100,000 tickets, "drunk" 13 year old kids that are trying to act wicked cool by saying "fuck" and "shit" after every word. I come here all the time during the summer, and sometimes during the off season. They have bubble hockey, air hockey, racing games, and some pinball machines (dude if you're really that worried about pinball tables being crooked then you're taking a certain insignificant aspect of your life far too seriously), that's really all i look for in an arcade. Upstairs is cool, it has mostly games that date before the early 90's if that is your kind of thing, it is mine. There's a chance you've probably seen me here lugging around my medium format camera and getting into peoples way while taking pictures (i love the way this place is set up). Parking for here ain't bad, and the meter is fairly affordable, you have beach food all around you and sometimes there's fireworks, sweet.
