The food at Joes’s was really good. I got the Lobster dinner and they did crack it for me since I am new to a whole lobster dinner. The whipped potatoes were good, and the broccoli was a nice side. The server we had was not great, we had all asked for a salad with our meal, she brought it with our meal instead of ahead of time. She didn’t check back much and was not attentive. Other servers around us were much better so maybe this one was new? The atmosphere was so great, we sat on the patio next to the harbor, so beautiful! I would’ve given 5 stars if the service had been better. But we were happy to get in as other places were over an hour wait on a Monday evening. This place was happy to accommodate us.

Google
Nice restaurant. Food was tasty and plentiful. Could have done with a little more seasoning as my lobster didn’t have any. The soup was pretty tasteless and has a lot of bread for the size of the portion. Good location and value for money. Would recommend it for families and large groups as they seem to be able to cope quite well.

We had a wonderful dinner at Joe’s Waterfront! The harbor view was stunning, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was our waiter – the bald gentleman with the mustache (sadly I don’t remember his name). He was phenomenal: attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about making our experience special. Honestly, he deserves a raise – staff like him make all the difference! We enjoyed the nachos, the lobster roll, the crab roll, and ended with the chocolate cake and ice cream – everything was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly prepared. The lobster roll in particular was one of the best we’ve ever had. Thanks to the excellent service and delicious food, Joe’s Waterfront has become a must-return spot for us. Highly recommended!

Google
Awesome view! We requested outdoor seating by the water. The place was slammed so I’d recommend to make your reservations ahead of time. The steak bowl, Oyster’s & crab roll were fantastic will definitely come back next time we’re in Boston!

Google
Great atmosphere. The bartender and waitress were very helpful. We let them give suggestions for the appetizer and the main course and we were not disappointed. The fish tacos and the tri-tip steak were excellent. The customer service was great and we would recommend this restaurant for everyone.

Google
Food was mediocre and lukewarm (fish tacos and lobster roll) but the atmosphere was great and views of the coast gorgeous. The service was good and they serve warm bread to tie you over until your meal.

Google
We had a lovely Boston evening at this beautiful location by the water on a warm evening. Had beer, buffalo chicken appetizer, fish tacos and salmon. The best was their onion soup. It was yum. The salmon was okay and the tacos were good. Overall a good location with very amazing servers. Had a good evening dinner.

Google
We had a great time with family celebrating, delicious food, spectacular views! The Crab dip was my favorite. Several ordered the salmon and enjoyed it. The captain’s platter was a hit as was the clam chowder. We also ordered a Reuben sandwich and Shrimp Scampi & Linguine. It was slammed the afternoon we visited, ran out of bread, but we had good service and enjoyed the time together.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while we waited for our hotel room to be ready. Our server was really nice and upbeat. Restaurants has a nice vibe! We ordered the steak bowl and the tuna poke bowl. We enjoyed both! The online menu showed some more GF options than the lunch menu. Would be cool if items like the buffalo chicken dip and the spinach artichoke dip could be made GF.

Yelp
Fish and chips good. Not too heavy on the breading and fish was large and flaky. Fries were delicious. Slaw was great. Service was as horrible. Brown hair. Patio. Female. 8/15. 2pm ish. She stood and talked to a birthday table for 20 minutes and ignored all her other tables. We all know her travel plans to Paris and that she's been to Italy dozens of times but can we get some water and ice tea please? She never refilled them. We asked nicely multiple times. No other server stopped to offer service either. Dear manager of this restaurant. Hire and train better. Your food is good. Service sucks.

Yelp
Came to this restaurant in the afternoon on Sunday and it was wonderful. We brought both of our kids ages four and 15 months and the atmosphere was great, service was excellent, and the food was amazing. The kids loved it that they got free ice cream at the end too. Family friend, awesome food. Will come back!

Yelp
The apps and the entries were delicious...service is always top notch and the ambiance is very laid back given how busy Joes is always..Thanks joe's for some of the freshest and delicious foods in Boston....we always look forward to coming back....

Yelp
Sat outside - it's a beautiful area. Got pretty cold, they do have heat lamps. Ordered spinach dip took awhile - was cold and sent back and was reheated. Our plates were just meh. We were hungry so it all got eaten. Wasn't the best but didn't job. Our waitress was great.

Yelp
Lunch. Last day in Boston before heading to Logan. This place is the epitome of casual dining. It's Applebees/Olive Garden with seafood. Even came with a slightly sticky table. Service was pretty good. Drinks are mediocre and overpriced. Food - Not the "best" fish & chips but pretty good. Not the "best" lobster roll but good. Not the "best" clam chowder but good enough. The fish tacos were surprisingly the best menu item we tried.

Yelp
Dinner at Joe's Waterfront Fresh seafood, quick attentive service, and an amazing view of the harbor--perfect spot to unwind!

Yelp
Best part is service! Our server was super friendly, attentive, and kind. Got the fish tacos! They had a good amount of sauce and were decently filling. Interior is dark warm and classy

Yelp
The waitstaff were phenomenal and a completely delight. The food was even better than I had imagined and the bread that is served as "while you wait" is delicious! Went for brunch during the summer and it was a beautiful site to see both in and out of the restaurant. If you plan on sitting outside during the summer arrive early or make a reservation. There is a very long wait if you do not.

Yelp
First I ordered the crab cocktail. It was very good, but seemed a little skimpy for the price ($22, I think). Next up were the Parmesan truffle fries. I loved that I could smell the truffle right away. I hate it when I order truffle fries and can't detect the truffle. These were great on truffle, but weak on Parmesan and also just barely still warm when they were brought out. But still, I thought this would be a 5-star review until the service dropped way off. For almost a half hour my drink was empty and I was wanting to order one more. The server checked in twice in that time on a table near me, but didn't even glance in my direction. I would still come back again for sure. The food was good, and the outdoor patio was nice. But there was some definite room for improvement.

Yelp
If you're coming to Joe's, it's gotta be for the views! It's located in an awesome spot, right on the edge of the North End, just along the water. There's nothing better on a nice day. They do have plenty of indoor seating as well. I found the service to be fairly standard. My friends and I enjoyed our meals. The food was solid for American cuisine, but nothing out of this world. It's one of those standard spots that has something for everyone. I enjoyed my Baby Back Ribs and was quite full when I left. No complaints from me!

Yelp
I decided to stop at Joe's and grab a quick bite. Their menu features a heavy selection of sandwiches/burgers, and appetizers. I was debating between the raw seafood items and prepared foods; I ended up choosing the beet and goat cheese salad, and crab cake. The food arrived quickly and as ordered (I asked for no cilantro in the crab cake). The crab cake looked a bit unfortunate, but tasted alright. The beet salad however, was a mess. The greens were drenched in dressing, and the goat cheese tasted like (and had the consistency of) mayonnaise. Despite the food, the service was awesome. My server was super friendly and worked at an efficient pace.

Yelp
I really liked this place. It's on the water with a view of the harbor. Service was awesome. Our waiter was so cute and made great recommendations. I enjoyed the clam chowder and lobster roll - it had a LOT of lobster. I'd do it again!
google avatar

Shemesh Y.

Yelp
Beautiful spot, never full. Food feels like of a decent hotel. Had the chicken BLT sandwich with fries - I wish there was more avocado and the bread could have been more fresh, but overall it was great with a generous portion of chicken in it. Fries were great too :)

Yelp
Joe's is the perfect spot to take your family or to meet friends for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Located on the iconic Boston Harbor waterfront in the Hart of the North End, this restaurant is perfectly located in Christopher Columbus Park. We go here all the time and we literally enjoy almost every item on the menu we particularly like the artichoke and spinach dip, the Baja fish tacos, and all of the salads are delicious and the children's meals are fabulous. All the kids enjoy the pasta with extra cheese, the delicious chocolate milk, and the perfect ice cream scoop as a treat at the end I think the kids meals are around $10 and it is so inclusive and so filling.

Yelp
We sat outside on the patio on a busy Sunday night. They estimated our wait about 2 hours for our party of 6, but only ended up being an hour! And that hour was spent letting our toddler play at the playground, in the sandpit and on the carousal. Such a smooth wait and pretty location to be in! Then we had Phil as our waiter and he was honestly THE BEST. He was attentive, informative and very personable! We had the crab dip and oysters (omg so good), as well as multiple main dishes! The Maine Lobster was well worth it and delicious! The lobster rolls and Captain Platter were good as well, although lots of good other options to choose from as well! Overall a really good experience!! Phil even gave us some recommendations to find some good local finds while on our stay! 10/10 for service and an overall great night!

Yelp
Even though I had a partially wrong order, our food was good, Lobster roll was good, broccoli was amazing, the black cherry tea was great, and our waiter Berry was FANTASTIC! Berry was the best part!

Yelp
On a get away weekend with my husband and wanted to go to a restaurant by the water and boats. It is a fabulous location. We were so excited to be able to get in on a Friday night. Unfortunately, our server was not happy to see us- not sure if it was us or she was not happy to be working at all. Unhappy attitude, dead pan expression, no ice in water glasses- who does that unless asked. Anyway, the food was good but the clam chowder was thick instead of smooth. Lumpy. The drinks were empty and not asked if a refill was wanted. Had to flag her down for water and an alcohol beverage. Others around us with different wait staff did get proper attention. Lobster dinner was good- cooked well! I do not want to say the name of the server but hope she either starts enjoying her job which a tip is a part of with good service or leaves to find something she can tolerate better.

Yelp
Visiting the city with friends from out of town. It was a Monday so we were hopeful that it wouldn't be too crowded especially because we had a larger party. When we called they said there was a table for us or so they said. We arrived and then we were told that it wasn't a table together but actually two tables next to each other which in fact it was not. It was two table in different areas of the dining room. The service for someone to actual come over and get our drink order took forever. The service in general was just extremely slow. Our overall time there was almost 3 hours and with young children in the party that is an extremely long time. The food was just average. Nothing special which was disappointing especially being by the water and having the seafood be nothing but average especially for the prices we were charged. So overall disappointed by the whole experience.

Angie M.

Yelp
Great first Lobster Roll of our vacation! Hubby ordered a crab cake which when delivered looked unlike the crab cakes we are used to in Montana. Turns out they sent out Crab Cocktail instead which was the happiest accident. A generous amount of crab already shelled, how can you not love that! Best Caesar salad I have ever had and the crab cake was wonderful as well.

Yelp
We had two attempts here: on our first day visiting we stopped on their sunny balcony with the great harbor view - just after 15 min without anything happening (no waiter, no water) we concluded to go somewhere else.. (This is why it's a point down from five) Now two days later we have them another chance and were positively surprised! This time things worked out well! Our attentive waiter brought us the Nachos with spicy lobster- so good !! Bring some hungry friends - this is too much for two.

Yelp
Joe's Waterfront was the first meal I enjoyed while in Boston. After making the long cross-country flight, I met up with some friends before they headed back home. We needed somewhere quick and kid-friendly, so we ended up at Joe's Waterfront. This is a very popular harborside bar and grill where cocktails and food are the order of the day. Clearly, their specialty is seafood, but really anything that is breaded they do an extremely good job with. As I wanted to try a little bit of everything, I got the captains platter from the recommendation of our server.

Yelp
Nothing special. For a restaurant on the water in a historic city, I expected more/better... I came here for dinner with my husband and in-laws. We started with the complementary bread and it was fantastic! Warm, soft and served with plenty of butter. Then we ordered nachos & caprese salad, both were just ok. The cheese sauce on the nachos was fantastic but other than that, they were pretty much naked; guacamole on top and diced tomatoes on the side. The caprese salad was fresh but nothing unique about it. For my entree, I ordered the crab-crusted haddock. It was good but overall, a boring dish. The crab crust was the best part. The side of spinach left much to be desired. You can definitely get better, more "bang-for-your-buck" seafood at a lot of other places in this city...

Yelp
The service and environment were great! Thought, the food came up a little short for me. I had the calamari as an appetiser which was delicious. I then had the hot lobster roll with a side Caesar as my main entree. For the price, I would expect a larger roll. It was still good, but did not stack up against the other lobster rolls/food I had in the city! Still 4 stars because of the service and appetiser!

Yelp
Listen to me LISTEN TO ME when I die, I want in my eulogy for someone to say that I only lived as long as I did because the shrimp scampi at Joes gave me a reason to wake up each day. That Joes vibes were unmatched and I craved it. It is so so sinfully delicious. When I undoubtedly commit a crime (accidental tax fraud bc I don't understand the IRS or jaywalking?) I hope they sentence me harshly so I can ask for this as my last meal. I have never loved a dish this much it is truly in my veins it is in my bones I need it all the time. Don't know what my vague food craving is for? Probably Joes shrimp scampi. I genuinely cried at work this morning but got this for lunch and now I am FINE I am so fine. It is the best decision you can make to eat this but don't eat too much or they'll run out before I come back tomorrow. Mac and cheese also good. Honestly all food very good and ppl who work here are the best, the absolute gods that they are-kind funny and helpful. And what a great vibe outside and inside-right on the water. Future wife, Take me here and I'll give you everything I have.

Yelp
First time having a Boston lobster roll. What an absolute delicacy. No matter the price you kind of have to give it a try. This location specifically was placed right on the Boston harbor and gave the experience the perfect setting. Server was amped. Gave off some serious Jonah Hill vibes. Idk what to make of him but deserved a mention for sure. Only thing missing was tea. Which would have been promptly tossed in the harbor. Would recommend.

Yelp
Delicious view and beautiful setting along the Boston Bay. We arrived after an incredible visit at Paul Reveres house. We walked in and requested an outside table along the water outside in the shade. Within 5 minutes, our table was ready. We walked out to the pier and there was no table in the shade. The server/hostess was confused. They did a great job and identified a table that wasn't sat there by the hostess. They politely asked them to move as the table was reserved for our group. I thought that was kind and considerate of the host/server. We sat and looked at the menu and ordered our drinks. We had the summer margarita and iced water. We ordered calamari and clam chowder with clam cakes for our appetizers. Delish! The clam chowder was chefs kiss!!!!!! :) highly recommend! The calamari were also delicious! Our meals were fabulous! Definitely would recommend to all visitors.

Yelp
We visited Joe's Waterfront on 5/31 to celebrate a special moment after our engagement, expecting a great experience to match the occasion. Unfortunately, what we got was incredibly disappointing. After being seated, we were completely ignored for about 15 minutes. When our waitress finally came by, she made it abundantly clear through her attitude and demeanor that she didn't want to be there at all. We were in a celebratory mood and tried not to let it ruin the evening, but things only got worse. It took another 15 minutes just to get our drinks, and 20 more minutes passed with no sign of our waitress before I had to ask the hostess to find her. When the food finally arrived, both the steak frites and steak tips, which were ordered medium, came out completely well done...dry and overcooked. At that point, it was clear that neither the quality of the service nor the food mattered to this restaurant. We didn't even bother sending anything back; we just wanted to pay and leave. For the price this place charges, the experience should be far better. I wouldn't recommend Joe's Waterfront to anyone looking for quality service, food, or a positive atmosphere, especially on a day that's supposed to be memorable for all the right reasons.
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
Absolute wonderful sangria! The Cesar salad was delicious, fish and chips were okay, the cookie skillet was great! Bar service was really good but once we moved to a table the waiter was horrible! I'd go back for a drink, probably not to dine again.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
Update-- no longer dog friendly. Went there today and they said only service dogs. I literally walk by this place every single day and have seen dogs there within the week, and all of a sudden they're not dog friendly? They've literally given my dog a plate of bacon before.... When I asked when their policy changed, he just said "city ordinance". The city's patio policy hasn't changed... complete BS. I've told everyone to go here over the last 4 years, but not anymore.

Yelp
Had lunch here before a Celtics game and it was fantastic!! Right on the water, pretty much all seats had a great view of the harbor. Loved the look of the inside as well. Our server was great, a very nice man and attentive. My espresso martini was one of the best I've had. We had the Brussels for an appetizer and they were the best Brussels I've had from a restaurant. My meal, the cobb salad, was huge and delish. My boyfriend got the cure burger which was HUGE, he couldn't put it down, he said that was also so so good. Overall amazing place would definitely be back.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Great view and atmosphere. Loved the lobster roll (warm), clam chowder, and the drinks are just right. Def if in the Northend of Boston, I recommend this place. Are here two nights in a row.

Yelp
Very nice casual waterfront Restaurant in Boston overlooking the Harbor. The service very good, all the food was great I recommend the lobster roll and the calamari. The prices on the higher side for a casual restaurant. It was very busy for a Thursday night and definitely recommended reservations.
google avatar

Lilian W.

Yelp
I had lunch here with my family and it was a pleasant but average experience. The service was good, our waitress was friendly and checked in on us several times. We started with a shared calamari appetizer which was tasty, but nothing special. The crispy chicken salad was quite good, with cold noodles, lettuce, well crisped chicken, and a light sesame sauce. The ahi tuna salad had a beautiful presentation, and my MIL enjoyed it. However, the chicken BLT was pretty mid and my shrimp scampi was not great either. It was much too salty and the sun dried tomato flavor overpowered everything else. The jumbo shrimp were fine, but I found the noodles and sauce lacking. Overall, all our food felt a bit overpriced for the quality and taste.

Tracey M.

Yelp
Food so so Service was awful- she didn't check back until we asked 2 other servers- steak served with no steak knife- which we waited for another 5 -10 minutes to get - drinks not refilled or even asked. Big disappointment as a beautiful location

Lauren B.

Yelp
To start off, the hostess in the front lacked hostess skills. Specifically the blonde one was pretty unfriendly. We were then seated with no menus or utensils. I got fish and chips and was extremely disappointed. It was cold, mushy, and tasteless. Not to mention the fact we almost had to wait 2 hours for this experience. ‍ Nice view though.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Food is horrible for the price got the half rack baby back ribs. They said they're cooked for 10 hours. It was all fat no meat at all no flavor horrible.

Yelp
Fast service. The bread was good with the butter. The shrimp was really good also. The by vibe was nice and I liked the music.

Debora G.

Yelp
Great seafood and the bread pudding is wonderful! Nice view of the wharf. Defiant must of you are in Boston.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner and drinks and had a mixed but overall positive experience. Drinks: The jalapeño margarita was surprisingly smooth--not too spicy, just the right kick. A solid choice for anyone who likes a little heat without being overwhelmed. The mango mule was also excellent--refreshing, balanced, and definitely one I'd order again. Food: The oysters were the only real miss of the night. The shucking was a bit rough--several had broken shells in them, which was disappointing. The buffalo chicken dip was pretty good. It had a generous amount of chicken, though the chips that came with it were a little stale, which took away from the experience. The lobster roll was just okay--maybe a 6/10. The lobster itself tasted a bit rubbery, like it wasn't the freshest or had been overcooked. The crispy chicken salad was a hit. It was huge, and the chicken was fresh and really well cooked. The crispy noodles added a nice crunch. The only heads-up is the dressing comes already mixed in and it's on the heavier side--so if you're picky about that, definitely ask for it on the side or request light dressing. Service: Our server was great--friendly, attentive, and gave helpful recommendations without being pushy. Ambiance: The vibe was casual and relaxed. It wasn't too packed when we went, and being right on the water gave it a really pretty, peaceful feel. Great spot to unwind with a drink and take in the view. Would I come back? Probably--especially for drinks and that chicken salad. Just might skip the oysters next time.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times for lunch with kids. We've always sat indoors, and the waterfront views are fantastic even from inside. The booths are comfy and the decor is nautical and inviting. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They all help one another out. The kids' menu is great for picky eaters as well as for kids with allergies. If you don't ask for the ice cream sundae that comes with their meals, they won't offer/bring it. For adults, there's a nice list of signature cocktails and decent beer/wine. The food menu is not that exciting but it's fairly priced (especially for a waterfront restaurant in Boston) and they do it all well - the burgers, the salads, the lobster roll, the fries. You can't really go wrong here.
google avatar

Brooke C.

Yelp
I absolutely love the patio experience here. I went in a party of three as a walk in and got an amazing table right on the water. I got oysters and gin cocktail on the summer specials menu. My drink was huge and delicious! The oysters were good as well. They even brought heaters out as the night started to get cool, it was amazing!

Alfredo C.

Yelp
Amazing place, we visit here every year....(that 1 star rating below is so inaccurate of this place...if I'm out here scaring the staff, I'd consider ordering to-go, lol)anyways...the ambiance and the people here are great. Started out with an order of oysters with two glasses of red sangrias...amazing! For the main we ordered the Lobster Roll and the Fish and Chips.....soo good! Never a bad experience here. Our waiter, Alex, was great...very pleasant, and recommend to anyone visiting here....Joes has amazing waterfront views that make this place that much better!
google avatar

Yelp
While some items are a bit overpriced, I thought the food was still pretty good regardless. My family and I were looking for some American food and this def checks the box. Loved the view this restaurant had as well! The server were kind and attentive. Would 10/10 go back again :)

MS

Yelp
Horrible service! We waited 30 Mins for sparkling g water.. on a Monday night! The Manager in particular was aggressive and quite ruse. Will never be back! I am from Canada and was so excited to eat there - not cool for my first Boston visit!!
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
We wanted to eat at the place next door but the wait was an hour. We looked around for another place to eat and saw that this place had a 3.2 star review but decided to risk it. Guys, this place was amazing. The service was fast, the food was excellent, the drinks were delicious, we even got dessert and *chefs kiss*. The staff was wonderful. Not a single complaint. 10/10 would recommend.

Cindy S.

Yelp
Came in at 4:30 on a Friday while in town and promptly grabbed the two remaining bar seats with my guest and were treated to the staff actively refusing to serve anyone. As each minute passed it became evident that the staff was more interested in eating their own food, and conversing amongst themselves than they were providing service. After twenty agonizing minutes of attempting to flag down a bartender my guest and I walked next door to Sail Loft and had a beverage in hand almost immediately.

Yelp
Food was okay. location was A+ Server seemed really overwhelmed but did her best for the amount of customers they had
